"I...I don't know what to do," Moa said as she noticed the pain in her arm was ebbing away to a regular throbbing.

Eurogon said with little commanding voice: "For now you will rest and you too Jake. Like you know we have only won battle from this war. So we all need to rest as mutch as possible, before next battle."

Jake nodded, and looked at all the destroyed houses around the town. "so where do we rest?"

"You can't tell me what to do!" Moa said with sudden anger, even though she knew he was right. She sighed, "We have to get to someplace safe."

Eurogon anserwed and pointed little cottage on forest: "Would that do? It´s easy defence."

Jake looked over at the cottage. It was small, and seemed untouched by the distruction of the war. He walked over to it and opened the door. It still had furniture, but it looked abandoned. Jake sat on one of the beds.

Ithildae looked at the cabin. "It might. No one has ever lived there, so far as I know. Who knows, it might protect us in and of itself." She didn't add that there had been many rumors about it being haunted. That kind of thing probably floated around every abandoned home.

Eurogon asked: "If no one haven´t lived there. Why it would have been build?" and did cast spell: "Ghost of ancient times. Show me owners of this house. " Normally there would come blue ghostly figures, but now there didn´t come anything and Eurogon said: "It look like this cottage didn´t have owners. Interesting..."

Ithildae sighed. "I could have told you that. No one's ever lived here. It used to be just a storage place, but then someone set it up as a house. Whoever it was never lived here, but the furniture should still be good." She stepped inside. "Watch your step, though. The floor is pretty old and might be a little rotten."

As soon as Ithilldae said this, the floor board under Jakes foot gave way. Jake shifted his weight so he didn't trip. He looked down at where the floor board had been, and had to do a double take. "You guys, look! The cottage has a basement!" Jake said. Where the floor board had been there was a hole, that looked pretty deep. It seemed very strange that such a small cottage would have this. "Maybe having beds and furniture is a cover up. Maybe people hold private meetings down there or something"

"Who would hold private meetings in a rotting, abandoned old cottage when they could just as easily do it in their own basements?" asked Ithildae reasonably. "It probably has some old stuff. I told you that people used to store things here." Then she grinned. "We should go explore."

Eurogon muttered something and little flame came out of nowhere and started float down from hole and stopped on basement floor. Eurogon saw door on floor what he was on and went to door, but it was locked and said: "Do anyone know how to pick lock? I would blast this door but it would do damage on this cottage or even collapse it."

Ithildae looked at him for a minute. "It's probably not locked, you know. No one's ever lived here. No need to lock it." She walked up to the door, pulled it tighter against the doorframe and twisted the knob this way and that for several minutes. Eventually, it popped open. "See? Just stuck."

"Well, I guess we should check it out." Jake said. He was suprised that Eurogon didn't know how to pick a lock. He didn't know why, It just seemed like something he would know how to do.

Ithildae stood in the doorway uncertainly. Everything smelled like dust and mold and mildew. "The floor's probably even worse here." she remarked. "No one ever cleaned the basement, as far as I know, so no one had to try to keep it in good repair." Then she shrugged. "But as they say, nothing ventured, nothing gained." She stepped inside.
