"So you got attacked as well? I can't help but wondering just what exactly those things were. They definitely weren't anything I've ever heard of, and a bit creepy," Brayden admitted at Kaya's explanation of the events that the prince had run into while in the tower.
"Glad you're alright, though," he added with a smile, chuckling slightly at the pink hearts that had suddenly appeared. He was tempted to poke at one, but tried to refrain from doing so, unsure of what may happen if he did.
Brayden couldn't help but blush slightly at Nona's comment, smiling all the same.
"Thanks," he murmured with a nod. "I'm sure we do make quite the pair," he laughed.

"Right, we have been partners in crime it seems," Brayden laughed with a nod, "Ever since the events with Celebi and Dialga. I'm still curious as to who it was that was leaving us the clues. Whoever they were, they certainly helped us out. Although we did have to go through some troublesome places," he mentioned, recalling trying to find their way in the dark through the Burnt Tower. He still remembered meeting Kaya, Train, and Chloe during these events. Ever since a bored newbie with a Totodile decided to follow a strange message on his Pokegear to Illex Forest.
"Mm, true, we've still got to meet back up with Chloe and Train, and I for one could use a shower and a quick change of clothes," Brayden muttered, looking at the sorry state his outfit was in due to Gin'iro's flames from earlier with the stone creature's attack. Thankfully he was intact, the fire doing more to energize him than harm him, but his outfit was pretty much shot.
Unless he was going for the singed hobo look, in that case, he was all set. He was only glad his gloves remained more or less in one piece, but something seemed to be missing...
Ah well, he'd figure it out eventually.
"Well, we weren't able to save the baby Kyogre from what Kaya says, but at least we have the piece of the blade," Brayden offered. "Hopefully Train and Chloe had some good luck in the Whirl Islands."

Sylam nodded. "Indeed, I'd very much like to get back to shore as well. My coat's still there too, and I'd rather like to get it back, as it is the only one I own..." He glanced out of the worn glass of the room they were in, absently watching a school of Remoraid dart by. His mind wasn't really on the fish, however, his thoughts were elsewhere. He had been following the conversation so far, but didn't feel it his place to get involved too much. After all, they probably wouldn't like an outsider jumping in the middle of things, he supposed.
And there were other things that were worrying him at the moment, not least of which was the state of Malys. He figured once things were settled down, perhaps he could split from the group for a bit to search for his "twin," then hook back up with the group when they made their way to Stark Mountain. Yes, that sounded alright. Although his only confirmation was the swish of a Magikarp's tail as he continued to gaze out at the ocean. It really was quite calming...
"So I suppose we should be heading back-" Sylam started to murmur to the others, before he paused mid-sentence, and mid-turn.
Something caught his eye as he was gazing out into the waters, which caused him to double-take as he was turning back to the group. His eyes narrowed as he tried to get a better look, but then widened considerably.
"What in the seven layers of-"
A flurry of activity suddenly poured from the temple hidden under the waves, as a score or more of ships, Aqua insignia printed boldly on their outer hulls, fled the scene, miniature submarines and a few scattered members riding their own Pokemon joining in with the mix. On the largest ship, three silhouettes that looked vaguely familiar offered a wave, as that too moved to a safe distance.
It was then the temple began to quiver. A large shudder ran through the compound, sending dust flying and a few cracks to form along the ancient glass that had tentatively held together all these years.
"...Not a good sign...." Sylam muttered obviously with a shake of his head. He had a sinking suspicion about what was about to happen. He had been curious as to why the admins hadn't simply gathered the grunts together to swarm the group, since their small band was clearly outnumbered in the ruins full of Aquas, however, as another shudder ran through the complex, he got his answer.
Seemed the Aquas were growing a bit tired of doing it the same way, and were prepared to try a more direct approach.
Which most likely meant... Sylam winced.
*BOOM*
Ah, there we go...
A sudden explosion shook the foundations of the ruins, sending scrolls flying and artifacts crumbling, as the tentative hold the temple had on its own stability finally crumbled, aided with the help of a few well-placed packs of explosives, and a flick of a switch currently held in Shelly's eager hand.
The sanctity of the underwater palace was quickly coming to a watery end, as the hairline cracks in the glass finally gave way to the years of strain, and the constant pull of the water pressure, sending shards flying as a wall of seawater suddenly met the group.
At least the school of Remoraid from before looked like they were enjoying the pull of the tide.
The only verbal warning they got from Sylam (as if the explosion and ensuing miniature earthquake wasn't good enough) was a cry of surprise, followed by a muttered curse, which he tried in vain to curb, and two simple words before he was pulled underwater as the ocean decided to make a rush visit.
"Why me?"

Brayden's first reaction to the wall of water was rather instintive. Ears suddenly flattened as if lead weights were attatched, tails bristling and flicking nervously in pure terror. It was certain that his body recalled the effects of his little swim on the way here. Not an experience he wanted to re-live.
After a double-check to make sure that Gin'iro was safely tucked in his Pokeball, Brayden's second reaction was to wince, as he tried to come up with a way to avoid the water. Perhaps if he called out Cye? No matter what he could come up with, it all involved wet, something his Vulpix DNA wouldn't accept without retaliation.
So his third movement was to close his eyes, and hope for the best. When the water hit him, he couldn't help but let out a cry, as the familiar burn swept through him.
But then, suddenly, it was dry. Brayden was still a bit soaked, dripping wet, but he could breathe, and there wasn't anymore whirling torrent around him anymore.
"Wha?"
The familiar green glow of Kaya's Protect surrounded him, as relief washed through him.
"Thanks... Kaya?" his compliment ended in a question, as he glanced around the group's little bubble, not spotting the prince.
A flash of silver hair, unfortunately located outside their little bubble alerted him of the situation.
"Wah?!" he yelped, rushing to the side of the Protect, spotting Kaya being swept away by the tide.
"Kaya!" Brayden shouted, trying to slam through the green glow. Unfortunately it seemed that the Protect was just as good as keeping things in as it was keeping things out, so all he gained from his attempts was a sore shoulder, and a crackling of energy around him that caused the fur on his tails and ears to frizz uncomfortably with static.
"KAYA!"

Nona braced herself for impact, and just like Brayden, got soaked before realising she was safe. She looked to Kaya, through the bubble, tears forming in her eyes. "DAMN IT!" she cursed, beginning to pound into the sides of the protect.
Even with her knuckles broken, she still did it, ignoring the pain and the firmiliar, white-hot feeling she had experienced prior.
"...No...Kaya..." She muttered, slowing to a stop and starting to cry heavier. Her knuckles were now visibly bleeding...rather heavily, actually, but they still retained their white glow.

Sylam caught the faint pink glimmer of the Luvdiscs' scales as Kaya broke the surface of the waters, and he smiled faintly, releived despite himself. He had grown quite attatched to this strange group of trainers, so seeing Kaya nearly drown had done quite a number on his nerves.
Plus there was the whole nearly-drowning himself. That doesn't do anything to aleviate any anxiety. Sylam wrung a bit of seawater from his black turtleneck. It was getting a bit heavy due to the extra water, but he could live with it. He just had to make a mental note to check his back when they got a moment. The last thing he needed was for the plate to rust... that would be a bit uncomfortable.
"You're alright..." was all he could manage, as he saw Kaya finally take a few sputtering breaths, as Sylam smiled faintly.
"I'm glad to see it." Somehow, although Sylam was not about to explain the technique (they probably wouldn't believe his explanation anyway), he walked through the Protect, nodding his thanks to Saron, before throwing Kika's Pokeball, summoning the Lapras into the water before boarding the transport Pokemon. She slipped easily through the water, as Sylam reached down, pulling Kaya to safety atop the shell of the Lapras.
The wind brought a slight chill, Sylam noted, especially with his wet clothes, it made the breeze easily detected. He supposed it would be easier to locate the shore with the wind directions, following the seabreeze would be easy enough. Although it would be a bit colder.
"I think it a good idea to get to shore soon," he offered to the group. "Before Team Aqua decides to investigate their handywork, or before the authorities decide to do likewise," he cast a glance back to the spot where the temple once lay. It didn't seem that anything was left of the place, not even the formation of rocks that the group had landed on to descend into the complex.
"A pity..." he murmured quietly to himself. The place certainly did hold plenty of memories for him.
{{And Sy does have a reason for his crazy techniques. XD There's only a very select few of 'em, though.}}

Brayden felt his breath cease as he saw Kaya rise to the surface, atop a few pink things that, for a moment, he thought were a few stray Charm heart... things from earlier. But as a pair of eyes met him, he realized the true identity of Kaya's rescuers. As Kaya coughed, Brayden dared to breathe again, as he felt his knees weakening, sighing in relief as he sunk to the floor of their little bubble, watching Kaya's chest rise and fall for a few moments, to make sure that he wasn't imagining things, before laying back, covering his face with a palm as he let out a nervous laugh.
"For a moment there..." he murmured, wiping a tear away with a shaky sigh.
After he could breathe again, Brayden sat up, examining their bubble with a curious touch. Nothing but another tingle of static. He noticed that Sylam had gotten out.... somehow. He had missed the action himself, but he was curious as to how the guardian had managed that. Brayden briefly considered trying another Extrasensory, but he had noooo clue on how exactly he had done it the first time. Let alone the fact that he wasn't sure on what the consequences of using it would be. He was unsure of what may happen if the two moves collided, and his imagination wasn't doing a too good of a job convincing him it would be alright.
