They kept walking slowly his eyes ahead not seeming to pay attention to the man behind them. As they headed up the mountain, moving toward the night. Himura Sakura's voice rose just enough for her to hear.
"Why is there a man following us Yumi-dono...I don't appreciate such things. He isn't trying very hard either...I said though that I wish to forget that boy I once was." He walked forward not looking over at her. He wouldn't look behind him for the reason that there was no reason to in truth.

"He? Oh that's just my little helper... he's here to take the horse back when we come to more dangerous areas in the mountains. And he's not doing a very good job because he's only trying to avoid disturbing us, not hiding from us. Trust me, when he wants to spy on someone, he'll be invisible... he's been very helpfull collecting data and keeping me safe from all those sly Shinsengumi politicians. Oh, but Chaos, isn't it time for some food now? Or maybe you don't eat at all? Who knows... at least I've learned to enjoy the simple pleasures in life, eating... and sleeping... those were something I didn't appreciate a few years ago. So how 'bout it?" Yumi jumped off the back of the horse and touched down next to Chaos, immediately the man who had been following them spurted to catch the horse.

Chaos continued walking, not stopping for her leap down. His movements still seemingly concealed within the new yukata. "If you wish to waste time eating and sleeping you may do so...I wish to travel as far as possible before stopping...I am expected in the day after tommorow anyways."
The killer of well over a few thousand men walked on the pathway as the sun was leaving them, they path thinning and the feeling of cold could be felt. He continued to move upwards though as if nothing would stop him. His eyes staring ahead, yet taking in every last thing around him trying to notice all the movements and differences of people having passed through before.

((@_@ long posts....So what happened between Yumi and Chaos anyway))
The woman stopped outside the next town and sat down on the edge of the forest. She took the sack off her back, unwrapped it and began eatign the array of mouthwatering food that the last town had arranged for her after she had gotten rid of the bandits. She had been glad to do it, it had been a long time since her mind had been twisted by hatred for....what was his name? Well maybe not too long...five years but now there were still more important things than killing. She had decided that she would punish him but not by death, she admitted herself she wanted to see him alive. She finished off her packed lunch adn folded up the sack and started into town.

"I so guessed you'd say something along those lines, so I even prepared for it. Here..." Yumi threw a small package to Chaos.
"It's a very tasty and nutritious bread, I'm sure you'll love it... and the best thing about it, you can eat it WHILE walking." She laughed, said a few words to the man, then walked up to Chaos again. She opened the small package revealing a light brown bread.

((They talked really...nothing else <<;; ))
Chaos didn't move as the package was thrown at him, but suddenly, the package was gone. As she would catch up to him she would see it resting in his hand upon his left katana. His eyes never leaving the road in front of them. He kept silent as he walked. He didn't like to eat and walk. He felt if one did more multitasking then one would lose more focus for the things around.
Chaos himself didn't need to lose that focus at the moment. He kept the bread in his hand and said. "Thank you Yumi-dono...I shall eat it later." His grey eyes never flitted randomly but instead calculated along where they needed to look instead. It was as if he was trying to find something specific the he had lost, or maybe didn't want to find...

The woman walked past a restaurant and stopped. She was hungry again and she nearly laughed outloud. She shook her head, she would have some tea, and maybe soem bread, but nothign else. She ducked inside and ordered then sat outside to eat her snack.

"I guessed you'd say something like that... you know eating is important. And it doesn't disturb your concentration THAT much, a little yes, but you'll probably survive." Yumi opened her package and started munching on a plain looking bread. While eating she studied the landscape, the last time she was her she didn't have time to actually see how beautiful the area actually was.

Himura Sakura didn't move to eat from the package provided. He knew how iimportant food was and would eventually eat...he just didn't feel the need right that moment. "Just the same Yumi-dono...I'll wait." His grey eyes concentrated on the snow up ahead that was lightly falling.
They were gaining ground very quickly...a good thing but he hoped that neither of them would be overworked. He moved with swiftness and prowess to attack, yet held no such posture...he was simply moving how it was natural to him. The way he had learned to move...

"Is it still a long way left? I would like to get through these mountains before it gets dark." Yumi said after finishing her sandwich. It wasn't the darkness that made her worried, it was the strange and unfamiliar environment she was in. It was not often she had been travelling in mountains and she didn't have very good earlier experiences from them either. Just the idea of all the places you could hide in when up in the mountains worried her.

Himura Sakura stares ahead as they continue walking slowly. His steps moving through the slight brush letting people know this trail was rarely taken. "Longer than any sane person would ever go through...It will be dark by the time that we get to the bottom of the other mountain. They were reaching near the summit, the freezing conditions were getting harsher and biting into each of the vagabonds' skins.

"Oh darn, well, there's nothing we can do about that then." Sulking Yumi continued to walk without saying anything. As it got colder she wrapped the kimono tighter around herself. Studying the large rock formations all around her she started looking for something that might indicate they weren't alone there, or maybe just some sign that there actually was some other living creature up there with them.

Suddenly he opened the food package and began eating. He wasn't cuddling into himself and trying to get warm. He didn't seem to care about the area around them suddenly and was just eating away as they trekked through the snow and over the summit.
His grey eyes flitted about as he continued eating getting close to finishing it by the time they would be a little over the top then. He sighed slightly continuing walk. His weapons swinging just slightly from side to side. He breathed evenly, only a bit of his breath escaping into the air.

These were the only living things Yumi managed to see during one hour (they were travelling quite quickly even though they called it walking): One bush with some strange berries that looked very poisonous, a small bird, a bigger bird, something white that was too far away to see exactly what it was (but Yumi was still pretty sure it was some kind of animal), some grass. Not very impressive, but the amount of small rocks in different shapes and colors might've made her miss some plants. Watching Chaos eat she continued looking at the mountains in front of them.

Chaos was finishing up his meal when his words issued out to her ears, no farther nor less. "You may have noticed it, may not have. There's a white thing in the snow. Moving from time to time. That's not an animal. It's a ninja buried in snow using a snow suit to hide himself...My guess is that when we pass him which will be in about a minute he'll try to attack or continue watching.
"By that time we'll be about 5 minutes away from the summit and 5 minutes away from the end of the great amount of snow. We'll be about 3 hours away from the bottom and the ending of the day...time is of the essence and so you'll need to act fast. I've been watching that figure since we entered the mountains. He's been following us since about an hour into the trek. He put a snow suit on about when we entered this area.
"He's closer than you than to me. I warn you though...don't kill him. He's not an assasain, only a student in ninjitsu working his way around trying to live alone. He's not the best and assumes that I don't see him everytime I pass by...knock him out if you can." He finished his meal at the end of this and then looked back ahead of him as they walked more. Obviously his senses had increased far beyond what they once were...that white spot that he said was a ninja was probably about 300-500 feet away. He didn't seem to notice...or maybe he didn't seem to care.
