I can't focus on the meta right now. Sorry guys. I'll jump back in if I can later; just don't want to hold anyone up who might try to wait on me. <3

Drexl - Post 8

The two brothers were close enough now. Drexl stood a little taller than most around him, but that never bothered the youth. He glanced down to his brother. Then back up to the newcomers. Eyes glittering before he called out. "Are you the only tribes in your land?"

The youth was curious if there were more tribes that might be coming to poke at their world. Already it was expanding beyond Drexl's imagination. He made sure Lixes was at his side as he mumbled down to him. "I'm just worried that if there's more, we could see another uprising outta the Alks." he sighed a little at that thought. The Alks had already made it clear they thought they were in charge...something like this was going to rile them back up. Or worse,

TYYN - post 8

Tynn could feel the leaf boy's hand on her arm, but the normal disturbance by being touched was absolutely drowned out by the astonishment of what was unfolding ahead of them. They were still a little ways back in the crowd, so Tynn would occasionally lean her head or stand on her toes to see better, but they introduced themselves as coming from overseas.

"Man, if they look this strange what do you think their 'Belrea' would even look like?" She asked the boy at her side. "It must be weird."

YEJIDE - post 8

She listened to what the women had to say for themselves, but her grimace deepened. She looked to the Oban boy by her side and shook her head. "They don't look armed, but they're looking a little too friendly. What if they decide they want to live here too?" She pursed her lips and was starting to wish they would go away. They already had to share Oba with the rest of Tendaji now, and yeah sure fine she was getting used to that idea, but these people? Just bring more people into Tendaji why don't they?

"If they're so advanced why do they want to come here anyways?" She whispered to the fire earthling. It was too much to believe, something had to be up.

MIRIN - post 7

Mirin was craning her neck, her hand still in Korra's, trying to hear what was going on. Who were those people? She groaned out to Korra. "Hnngggg we need to get closer, Korra." She needed to see what was going on. She needed to be in the center of it.

They said they were friendly, they said they had been trying to come over for years, that was interesting. This was all outrageous stuff and crazy claims to be had. But hey, they did fly over on giant ships, so really, what couldn't be believed at this point?

Huyana Post 7

Knowing that Polaris was on watch duty made him feel a little bit better about their children being away from them at this time. So he looked at his wife and nodded then gave his attention to the new comers that had descended from the sky in a boat. Now wasn't that odd. Still, he had to admit the women were beautiful. Their mix of colors working so well. "Oh, would you look at that love, the one has a tattoo on her chest." Or at least he thought it was a tattoo. Huy saw no crystals on her though so he was beginning to wonder if she had markings like the Alks.

When another boom sounded from the boat his attention was drawn away from the women and to the machine. It was interesting to say the least. Though he had to admit he was rather curious about the materials used to make it and how valuable they were. And if he could get his hands on any. If they needed a supply to help them repair the boat then he wanted to be the merchant on hand with it. The offer to ask questions made him glance at his wife before making it back to the airship.

Draven
Post 8

Draven watched in silence for a moment before glancing back towards Aysun. He mentioned liking anything that was furred, feathered and scaly. Well to each their own he supposed. Remaining silent he listened, straining at times when the voices dipped low. But it seemed that things were going smoothly, just he worried about whoever or whatever was on the contraption that crashed. Frowning, he noted that they had said they could ask questions if they wanted to. He had many, but what the ask? It certainly was a time to ponder...

Ouen: 7

The two newcomers were friendly -- as far as they told it, they were just here to visit. Ouen pursed his lips. It seemed an awful lot of effort to go through just to check things out. Sure, he'd just come back from his own little tour of Tendaji, and there was something to be said for going places just because you could, but you wouldn't see him building up a flying ship for his convenience! He hadn't even thought of going to places like Yael, a whole sea journey away and much too complicated to bother with for no good reason.

He snorted at Kalli's jab, nudging her playfully with a corner of the blanket he held.

"Don'tcha make a bad impression on the visitors now! They'll get to thinkin' that we's argumental sorts, always gettin' into fights an' all. Not that they'd be wrong."

He rolled his eyes, then stood upright, projecting his voice over the fray.

"So's you folks plannin' on settin' up a colony here in Tendaji?"

Juno: 4

Well, look at that.

He had moved into the crowd and shouldered past some of the less-brave folks who stood at the back (originally behind he line or archers and swordsmen, although now all weapons had been lowered). Eventually he managed to get a good view of the newcomers and their ships. They were... well, different-looking, but not enough to be all that bizarre. If he'd seen them wandering the marketplace he'd have figured on them being some kind of hybrids, although... he'd have some real trouble picking out what they were hybrids of.

Their flying ships, though -- 'zeppelins', he heard one of the women call them -- were something else. And the land they said they came from! For a man like Juno, the idea of traveling to come from far didn't seem all that odd, and he only wondered now what it would be like to do the same.

"Now that you've come here to see Tendaji, will you bring some of our folks back with you to see your home?"

Amalric || 6

Amalric nodded. “Yes, the ones with—”

All but immediately, though, he cut off, gaze snapping down and over as the other in his midst pulled him nearer. Or if there’s a fight I will protect you. A cough of a sound escaped him, his eyebrows rising and feet choosing that moment to trip over themselves—though thankfully he quickly regained his balance, shaking his head.

You’ll—?” But then, he thought better of the question. The circumstances were already odd as they could be, he knew no one, and this man at least seemed to be friendly. And harmless. There seemed little need to force him away yet. “Very well,” he said, “in the event of sudden violent assault, I will rest easy knowing my safety is in your hands. Do you have a name?”

His eyes were still on the newcomers as he said it, and as they began to make it closer, it was clear others in the crowd had their fair share of questions, too, calling out and attempting to make their curiosities—and concerns—heard. By the time he made it near enough, Amalric spoke up, surprising himself as much as anything else by making himself loud enough he might actually be heard.

What do we call you—have you names?” Had they been sent by leaders of their nation with a specific purpose here? Where had they even begun to develop such technology and scholarship in order to successfully craft a vessel that held itself in the sky?

The question, ‘What do you want from us?’ came close, too, lingering at the tip of his tongue, but Amalric held that back. Easy enough to do, when the crowd was so happy to swallow up anything more and fill in their own questions. Still, though the visitors had not showed any signs of aggression yet, it was undeniable that they had access to knowledge far beyond that of Tendaji as a whole, and Amalric’s own questions built faster in his mind than he could have even voiced them all if he cared to.

It promised to be an eventful evening.

Volkarosh post 3
Location: Hiding with Arronthain

"Different people?" Volkarosh said. Machines were disturbing enough. They were the stuff of legends, things that moved and operated on their own, made of non-living things. She had never heard of such things existing in Tendaji outside of those legends, and that meant that these things could, possibly, be a threat.

But different people? What did Arron mean by 'different people?' If they themselves were different - hybrids who weren't quite like any of the races that went into them, what could he possibly mean by...

She slipped closer and climbed up one of the merchant tents, peering over at the... Yellow and brown people. "I see what you mean." she said, as if she wasn't perturbed by yellow skinned, green-crystalled people or by gemless brown earthlings, "They are different."

Kaalnia Post 2
Location: Front Lines

"Hey, I have a question." Kaalnia said cockily, as she approached them (as best she could, anyway. The silly Earthling leaders were blocking the way. In her opinion, they should stand aside and let these newcomers have their fun!) "Are we gonna be allowed to go to your land? 'cause it sounds great!" She winked at them. More like, it looked great. Actually, it looked fantastic.

A new land? Full of as yet unknown earthlings? Kaalnia was all over that.

Iriyana Post 7

The others had noticed Ergon but he was occupied. Riya had his attention as she clung to him and engaged him in questions about the events. So he wasn't being rude just monopolized.

Valek smiled at Hulis and the others when they arrived and shrugged his shoulders. "I'm alright. Mom and Dad should be headed back soon too. Did you find Li's mother?" He worried. Of course he didn't know what to do about the new girl. So he simply motioned to the back wagon for everyone to sit and wait.

Riya stayed close to her boyfriend but made sure to look over her shoulder at her brothers and friends. Knowing where they were made it easier for her to stay close to Ergon and not have to drag him around by the arm. Though he likely would be taken along with her if they needed to move. "Uli check your kit to make sure it's not scared." She called to her twin. The loud noise of the explosions might have made it skiddish by now and she didn't want it to freak out.

Ozzrick || 6

“It’s different,” Ozzrick said without missing a pace, “that doesn’t make it superior. They can fly on whatever their contraptions are, but whatever they are, they admitted they already failed once with them just before this attempt. So it’s all quite new to them and they don’t seem to have their own machines figured out. They also said they don’t have ships sturdy enough to make a trip that they could make on whatever those things are…”

He shook his head.

“Ships,” he said, “we understand. Enough so to bring you here, and perhaps they’re further away, but if you can make one solid vessel of a voyaging size, that can last weeks, months with the right supplies…”

He shouldn’t have known much about ships. Being a leafling boy born in the forests and to the savannahs of Tale, his home was land, further than the eye could see, and he had admittedly little live personal experience with sea craft. However, he had heard of them, and one of the performers he admired most among their troupe had spent several years of her life among vessels and often spoke of it. He was ever fascinated: had been since early youth, and clung to the interest persistently into his teenage years.

“If they cannot make a good ship, they are not that far ahead of us. They just have some smoke works and explosions…what I wouldn’t give to know more of their lands, though, and how they did craft those things of theirs.”

Kalliope Post 8

When she was bumped with the blanket she giggled. "With as many wars we've had in recent years.." Kalli lifted her shoulders innocently. Still she gave him a wink before turning her attention back to the strangers. With Ouen yelling out to ask if they were intending to settle here she wondered where they would live. Would they want to claim land for themselves and if so where? Which tribe would they have to argue with for that? Or would they simply blend with everyone?

It was enough to make her a little nervous. She didn't want her baby to be born in the midst of a conflict. She was hoping for peace at least until her little one was old enough to hold a weapon if the need came. "I think I'd want to know how they were getting home. Their ship is on fire.." She said to Ouen.
