Brooke plopped herself down onto the ground, legs spread out in front of her, while she waited for Annie to reiterate, though snorted good-naturedly when Annie flexed. All that exploring could really wear a girl out! "Oh yeah?" The penguin didn't bother hiding the small amount of awe she felt welling up inside of her, being given an item that managed to make you stronger was impressive, and she made sure to vocalize this. "That's pretty cool! Convenient too, it's a shame it broke though." Brooke hummed thoughtfully when the question was bounced back to her, contemplating on whether or not telling the truth or her version. "Nope, I've been exploring actually. This place is pretty big."

Ace couldn't help but to peer around the Daycare as he walked with PJ, even if there were a three billion germs that could be found in just this area alone he couldn't help but to appreciate the beauty the humans had created. It was odd, considering his current situation, to find himself in that sort of mindset but.. hey, it was pretty here. He had made a new friend, and he was going to find out about contests as soon as he found Brooke. This... certainly could've turned out worse.
Now that they were actively heading towards the forest he began to try and remember just exactly where he'd been with Brooke right before he lost her. Unfortunately, he had only recalled that they'd been heading forward when PJ asked where they should go. "Uhm..." Ace faltered a bit, his pace slowing down to a slow waddle. "I... well, hmm..." the more tried, and failed, to sputter out an answer the more he realized he didn't actually know what direction Brooke had been leading them in. "It's... somewhere this way," he decided finally and put on a burst of speed to take the lead. "..I think."

"Violet" the Houndour
Violet stiffened when she suddenly felt a heavy weight land on her back. Her ears went straight, but her expression was quickly contorting into one of anger. She twitched when he kicked her, then gave a furious growl, her ears pinning back as she whipped her head around to try and glare at him, snapping towards his feet. "Get--- OFF!" she snarled, immediately kicking up to try and buck him off, spinning hard. He was worse than Annie! She thrashed, bucking and kicking and snapping at him, trying to throw him. In a last ditch effort, she began billowing the same smog as before, trying to suffocate him into letting go-- or, if she had to, worse. There was NO way she was being ridden like some stupid prancing ponyta!!

Annie nodded fervently in agreement. It was cool! And convenient! "Yeah! I learned a lot of good moves, too! Like... like... Um... Hm." He paused a moment. Did he learn a lot of moves? He perked up. "Like this!" His claws flashed grey, and he swiped it through the air, the steel reflecting the light before it faded as he recalled the limb. He crossed them and gave a nod. "Oh and this!" He shot a bit of water out, then stared at the puddle, before looking to the pokemon. "That's probably not very impressive to you, though, huh..." He wiggled a bit. "But anyway, it helped me get a lot stronger so I can battle more when I get out!" he finished. He blinked when she admitted she'd been exploring, and perked up. "Did you see anything interesting?" he asked eagerly, bug eyes bigger at the prospect. Adventuring sounded fun!

PJ slowed his prance a bit when Ace seemed uncertain, too. He quirked his head curiously, letting Ace take his time to try and figure it out. It was probably hard, attempting to orient himself, and remember where he'd come from, and all the directions and everything. He waited patiently, his tail still casually waving through the air, and perked up when the charmander took off. He quickly picked up a fast trot to keep up with him. "R'okay! Lee uh ay!" he encouraged, speaking through the cloth in his mouth. Hopefully Ace knew where he was going... but if not, he was sure they could find their way! Somewhere!

-]Striker let out a whoop as the Houndour realized what was happening and growled. He was going to make her regret ignoring him, because she certainly couldn't ignore him right now! The young Pansear gripped her scruff that much tighter, continuing to spur Violet more the more she thrashed about. Forget a Ponyta, Striker felt like he was riding a wild Tauros! He began waving his free arm above his head and continued whooping, vaguely wishing he had a hat in his waving hand just to complete the picture. When the smoke came pouring out of her, however, that's when Striker knew his game was over. He pushed off of the annoyed Houndour and sprung back up onto something high to keep away from her teeth. "Hey whadda you know," he teased, "I think I stayed on the full eight seconds!"

Violet kept thrashing until she felt him kick off, and immediately turned, snapping her teeth and just missing him. She raised her shoulders, her hackles lifting as she glared at him, then hurled an ember attack his way. She didn't care if it didn't really do much-- she wanted to knock him off so she could bite him! "What do you think you were doing!?" she snarled, readying another attack. She was furious. Forget training on the treadmill-- she was going to use him as her new punching bag!

-]The young Pansear was clearly laughing at the Houndour, even as the embers were spit at him. The flamed singed his fur a bit, but not to any real extent that was painful at all. He did have to hop away again, however, chuckling like a madman at getting Violet so riled up. "Hey, I wanted to be friends, Puppy," he called out as he backflipped onto a different beam of the obstacle course.

Violet growled, gnashing her teeth. "Well this isn't the way to go about it!" she snapped, blasting another Ember attack at him, "Not to mention, I never said I wanted to be friends in return." She huffed, straightening up to her full height again. Taking a deep breath, she blew another cloud of smog at him, then suddenly ran, ramming into the base of the beam, trying to shake it and make him fall. She might not have known headbutt, but she could still hit it! She turned stumbling back, then snapping her head up to see if it worked. If it didn't... she would just have to find a way up there.

The Pansear was chuckling under his breath the entire time, cartwheeling along the beam to avoid the new gout of flames. "Besides, you're the one that snubbed me, so be a good puppy and just play nice!" Striker nearly lost his balance when the beam was hit, but clung to it a little more desperately and less cool than he would have preferred.

Violet snorted. "Well I'm not," she snapped, her eyes flashing, "At least not yet..." She would once she got to sink her teeth into him, though. She was sure of that. She backed up, then took a running start, ramming into it again to try and jostle him free, and then quickly bolting for some nearby equipment. For a moment, it looked like she had decided to flee-- and then she leaped up, struggling to climb, and then leap over to the beams on the obstacle course. Balance, of course, was not a big thing for her. She had no fingers to hold on or ways to grip. That didn't mean she was going to let herself fall, though. If she started moving forward she just kicked off to the next beam, scrambling to get on and find her footing. She was already making her way towards Striker-- it wasn't the most elegant approach, but it was getting her where she wanted to go. "Heights -- urk -- aren't going to save you, monkey!" she barked.

-]Well, if she was going to spit fire, then Striker wasn't going to play fair either. If he could have spit fire then he would have done that or something similar back, but as it were, he was still too young for that. Instead, though, he had a pretty funny idea. Seeing how hard of a time this puppy was having with getting up here and staying up here, wouldn't it just be so funny if he could make her fall? The grin on the Pansear's face grew the closer the Houndour got. When it was close enough, Striker leaped right over to it and licked the puppy right on the cheek. Then to add insult to injury, rolled backwards along the beam to tempt the puppy closer, hoping that her muscles would lock up and she'd topple from the beam.

Violet jerked her head up when she suddenly saw the fire monkey approaching, and leaned away when he leaned down to lick her. She immediately snapped at him, a shudder running through her-- but it didn't paralyze. Instead she turned, leaping along the beam to snap at him again, trying to keep her footing. No way! Nope! She was not getting taken down that easily! "Get that close again and I'll bite off your tongue!" she snarled, trying to keep her balance and gain her footing, moving to leap after him and try to bite again. She was stronger than him, she knew she was! She wasn't going to let him get away unhurt!

-]Striker had been well aware of the risks when he decided on that crazy plan, and it was very close to going horribly bad. However...he managed to get away just by a hair, rolling quickly along the beam. What he did next was pretty devious, even for him. The young Pansear continued to roll, licking the balance beam as he went to leave patched that were slick with his slobber and hard to see. The longer she chased him in this rage, the likelier it was she'd hit one and slip.

"Violet" the Houndour
Violet snarled, advancing towards the pokemon. She gave a growl, though, as she suddenly slipped, clinging to the beam, her eyes wide as she looked down. She shifted her focus to the beam, narrowing her eyes as she noticed the slight wetness. Instantly, her body temperature began to raise, trying to evaporate the substance, and she pushed herself back up, moving her focus to the fire pokemon. Growling dangerously, she continued forward, her claws out to help her try and get a grip, despite the slipperiness. She nearly fell a few times, but she never removed her gaze. She wasn't talking anymore-- she looked very much like a predator stalking its prey, even if her pace had slowed down. She seemed to be watching him.... waiting for him to make a move as she continued his direction.

-]The change in the Houndour's demeanor was obvious, and it actually made a chill run down Striker's back. He grinned even wider, enjying this a great deal and leaped off of the end of the beam, clinging to a taller post and easily climbing up to the top of it. "Haha, can't reach me up here!" he teased, slobbering all over the narrow top of the post. He was read to jump off to, should the puppy somehow be able to make it up that high.

Violet narrowed her eyes, then straightened, her expression suddenly dropping to a passive look. She gazed at him a moment, then turned, leaping off the beam and landing hard on the ground. She pushed herself up to her full height and shook, then looked back at him over her shoulder. Her eyes narrowed again, but she still said nothing, instead turning to start walking away. She didn't make a sound, nor did she make a move to go back after him. She seemed to instead try a different tactic... Or perhaps she had given up.

-]When Striker saw the Houndour turn to leave, he began to pout. It wasn't fair for her to just give up like that when they were having so much fun. He thought that he'd finally found a friend who could keep up with him, but just when it was looking most promising, Violet padded off. The young Pansear sniffled loudly and began to crawl along the posts and beams back towards her.
