Adrian sighed, frowning as he rubbed the bridge of his nose as if fighting back a headache. "The reason why I mentioned her was because she recently vanished... and she's a Runner like Faith and I," he murmured. "Because I know who she is; not many know about the secretive teams of 'Runners' around the city, but I've found a few that went missing, only to later turn up as 'John Does' or 'Jane Does'. As to who's doing it, I don't know, but Celeste Addams didn't deserve it," he said in a low voice. He personally hadn't been too fond of Celeste especially after what Faith had revealed after saving Kate's life.

Lillian heard Adrian sighing and she thought that it might have been her fault, so she removed her arms from around his neck and she walked over to the stereo. She popped in a new cd, though she didn't turn it on right away. She listened to Adrian speaking to her mother and she sighed as she looked over at Roxy, who was growling at the window. Waling to the window she saw, right in the flower box, Pogo, the cat that had belonged to her neighbor. "Adrian... That cat is outside again... I think that it's watching us... I bet it's trying to keep an eye on me for my neighbor." she thought to Adrian in a slightly panicked tone.

Adrian glanced at the window, locking eyes with the cat. "If you remain with him, you will not like the end result; he will cast you aside when you are of no further use and you will be right back where you started... if you survive. We would not do such a thing," he whispered into the feline's mind, making sure to use emotions to translate his words into things the cat would understand.

Lillian looked over at Pogo as the kitten listened to what Adrian was telling him mentally. The kitten seemed terrified at the thoughts that were flooding his tiny, furry mind. He lowered himself some before jumping off the flower box, walking through the doggie door and heading over to Adrian. He jumped up on his lap and started purring and rubbing his head against him as if trying to make up for being a bad kitty. He was also doing this to try gaining some protection from the master that had deceived him. 'What the heck...? How did you get him to be all nice like that...?' Lillian asked as she watched the kitten looking at Roxy and meowing in something of an apologetic manner. Meanwhile, Rosaline looked at the little orange kitten and she smiled, thinking that he was the cutest little thing and she was already planning on talking to Lillian's father about keeping the cat.

Adrian tilted his head. "It wasn't that hard; you know as well as I do that neither of us would want an innocent kitten harmed or killed for something it had no control over," he said with amusement. He gently scratched Pogo behind the ears, not surprised when the kitten purred louder. "His previous master wasn't all that generous with him... I have an instinctive talent with animals and he seemed to have been ignored far too often; we won't ignore him, of that I have little doubt," he said quietly, well aware Rosaline could hear him speaking softly.

Lillian smiled at Pogo as she walked over and placed a finger under his tiny chin. "He's a sweet little thing isn't he?" she asked as she tried picking him up and was actually able to without getting clawed. She cuddled him and nodded to Adrian as she heard him speaking. "I am pretty good with dogs myself, though I know that I am probably only like that with Roxy." she said, rubbing Pogo's soft belly fur. As she held and cuddled the kitten she watched as her mother got up and went to cleaning the dishes. "I wonder if anyone will ask about where Linda is when it rolls around to when she normally comes at night...?" she thought as she looked to Adrian. She wasn't really sure that she wanted to try explaining what had happened, though she didn't want to lie and say that old Linda decided to retire last night and went away or some nonsense like that.

Adrian glanced towards Rosaline for a moment. "Can't really tell them that we saw her murdered last night by our apparently vampiric neighbor," he sighed with a slight shrug.

Lillian looked up at Adrian before feeling Pogo digging his tiny claws into her to get her attention. "Ouch! I'll give you attention, but please don't do that." she said to the jealous kitten. "I suppose you're right, though I don't know what we're going to do about my neighbor... I could try calling my one distantly related uncle and see what he might be able to do to help us, though I am not so sure he'd really be the one to tell about this. I can't help but think of that conversationt that I accidentally hear, though, the one where he said that he would have dealt with those two that claimed to be my cousins if nothing else ad happened to them..." Her mind was buzzing with thoughts of what her uncle may have meant and she was determined to find out, so she, in the deepest part of her mind told herself that she was going to go check up on the older man that day whenever she found the chance to get away from Adrian for a little while.

Adrian made a slight sound that sounded oddly like a very large cat purring for a moment. "I've probably run into him and didn't know it. The only ones that really know the numbers of clients that the Runners in the city had would be Mercury and Kate... the former of which can't really tell us much since he's dead, unfortunately," he murmured. He wasn't sure if Kate would know all of the clients' intel or not but suspected she knew most of it in the seven months she'd taken over Mercury's job.

Lillian listened to what Adrian was telling her and she put a hand up that signalled that she was going to go somewhere but she was going to be back. She dashed to her room, Pogo still in her arms. When she came back downstairs she had her cell phone in one hand and she showed a picture of her 'uncle' and she tilted her head as if asking whether or not Adrian had seen the crazy looking man with three wolves standing and sitting beside him, along with a wolf pup in his arms.

Adrian looked at the picture before he chuckled. "Oh, I know him all right. Old Man Marcus," he said quietly. He had made a few deliveries to the man; he was very interesting if to most, eccentric. To him, however, the man was very intelligent. He knew from experience that while people often could seem stupid, eccentric, or oblivious to the outside world, it was often to hide their true skills and intelligence.

Lillian was a tad bit surprised when she heard that Adrian actually knew her uncle. She then thought of something that might be able to get her out of the house without having any real reason to make Adrian come along with her. "Oh no... I forgot that I have to meet some of my friends... And it's just a girl's day out... I could call you when I'm on my way back, though I have to get ready to go now!" she said, her voice a bit panicked, knowing that this was mostly a lie because that wasn't actually supposed to be until the following weekend. She knew that her mother would probably believe it, since her friends always made changes to their plans and Lillian was always kind enough to bend her schedule to make her friends happy. She placed Pogo on the floor, hugged Adrian and then ran up the stairs and got herself ready to go "hang out" with her friends, but in truth she was going to go check up on her "uncle Marcus". She kenw that this would seem so sudden and that she hadn't left much room for Adrian to ask what was going on, though she knew that he could still talk into her mind and ask her what was going on that way, so she didn't bother even saying 'bye' before heading out, jumping into her car and leaving. She knew what she was doing was very rude, but she wanted to get to Old Marcus' place ASAP and she couldn't risk having Adrian holding her back.

Adrian tilted his head when Lillian spoke in a panicked tone though he had the idea that it was partially true. He glanced towards Rosaline, chuckling slightly. "If you like, I can help you with the dishes," he said with a small smile.

Lillian felt bad for partly lying to Adrian and her mother, though she just had to get herself out of the house without Adrian tagging along. As she drove she sighed, thinking that she'd have to tell the truth to her mother and Adrian eventually, though for right now she was going to have to just stick to the scattered plan she had come up with. When she finally reached her uncle's house she got out of her car and she ran to the door, knocking on the door. The door flew open and she was gripped up in a bear-hug by Old Marcus and was cheerily welcomed inside. "How are you Lillian?" Marcus asked his niece. "I'm doing all right, though I have to ask you about something... It's about... Ryan and Brendon..." She could only imagine how her words were going to sink into the old man's mind and she sat on the couch, yet yelped as she realized that she'd sat right next to a very big, black and grizzly looking wolf, who had his big eyes trained on her. She could tell that her uncle was upset as he spoke of what had happened and that he had actually purposefully dialed her number and just hoped that she'd not breathe a word when the two vampires were in the room. "I don't really know what I could have done to those two, to be honest. If only I were twenty years younger I could have had a go with them and they would have lost hands down... Although, if I'd try any of my old tricks now I'd end up breaking or spraining something..." he told Lillian. As she listened to her uncle speaking she went to pet the wolf beside her, thinking that it was safe, since it hadn't moved or done anything wrong the whole time that she was seated next to it and listening to her uncle talking; which was for a better part of the day and that it was already dark out. However, her uncle swiftly grabbed her arm and told her to head on out. She sighed and did as she was told, though she thought that seeing the other wolves might be neat before heading home. As she did this she saw that the electric fence had apparently been left open and her curiosity took over and she made her way into the enclosure. She whistled softly to call out to the wolves the way that she had heard her uncle doing so many times, though when no wolves came she thought that they may have gotten loose. She knew it would be heartbreaking for her uncle, yet after a moment or two a few wolves came out from the shadows. Although, there seemed to be something very different about the larger one in the back. This one was a brownish yellow and had something like spots on its fur, almost like a hyena or something and both of it's golden eyes were trained right on Lillian. Seeing this Lillian tried backing away, though she was soon surrounded by several snarling and aggressive looking wolves, as well as the strange looking wolf, which didn't much look like a wolf now that she got a better look. And the sound that it was making nearly sounded as if it were laughing at her. "Oh come on... what is that thing anyways? Some sort of hyena or wolf or both...?" she mumbled, rolling her eyes and wondering why her uncle seemed to enjoy cross-breeding things, all while she tried to keep calm, yet in a split second she saw the strange hyena creature lunging at her. She also heard a strange popping sound, like an airgun going off before she felt a burning sensation in her shoulder as the aggressive hyena-wolf hybrid chomped down on Lillian's shoulder. She cried out and she did her best to give a whistle, hoping that Adrian's eagle would be near enough to hear it and be able to get him before something worse happened; however, with this happening so fast she had very low hope that things would turn out for the better. Marcus went into the enclosure after having shot the hyena-wolf hybrid (which had been an experiment he was working on in a cross-breeding program) with a tranquilizer dart and then ran up to Lillian, who was passed out from the shock of getting attacked by the hyena-wolf hybrid, as well as several other wolves that had been standing around; however they had been chased off by Marcus. Some even ran off due to seeing their alpha being tranquilized. "Why Lillian...? How many times have I told you never to come out here alone and now look at you..." Marcus said as he pressed his jacket, which he'd removed moments before, onto the deep wound on Lillian's shoulder.

Adrian tilted his head as he silently dropped from the trees several yards from Marcus and Lillian, though a couple of the wolves bared their teeth towards him. He glanced their way and heard them whine as a small flicker of silver-white color flickered in his navy-teal irises. He remained silent, his eyebrow twitching slightly as he didn't move a muscle. He had acted, purposely, as if he hadn't known what Lillian was up to when he'd only suspected what she had in mind rather than actually knowing it. He wasn't surprised to see Kōrai perched on the post behind Marcus, rustling her wings as she'd just landed.
