Revenge was relatively quick in coming with Briar able to sneak up on one of the two that had nailed him earlier. He'd sent the balloon sailing in the other boy's direction and had been amused when another balloon had also hit the boy not long after - looked like he wasn't the only one looking revenge on the 'happy to hit someone when they're down' boy. Grabbing another balloon, Briar headed off to look for the other 'happy to hit someone when they're down' boy. After all he'd still had the other half of his revenge to collect on. Welp, that was enough of a break!
Derek had to get back to work. If you called throwing balloons and missing kids work. But hey, at least he was having fun. So picking up a big yellow balloon he repeated his action of spinning around three times and throwing the balloon.

Derek opened his eyes to find he had nailed Ralph. Oh happy day.

Briar's attempt at getting the second half of his revenge had not gone as well as the first part. He'd tried tossing a couple of balloons, but both had ended up going wide of their targets and one had ended spattering harmlessly against a tree. Not that Briar was giving up mind, he was definitely going to get his own back on the second 'happy to hit someone when they're down' boy. Throwing carefully was painstaking work, but it was worth it. First, Griffin picked a balloon. Then he adjusted his grip, so he was holding it rather like he'd hold a sandwich. After that, he would select a target, based on their proximity, movement rate, and how much they'd annoyed him over the course of the game. He'd wait for the right moment, and then-
"SPLAT!" Griffin yelled, pumping the air as his latest throw hit Ralph. And to make it even better, it was one of the bubble balloons! How perfect!

Briar's next attempt had gone about as well as the last - well actually Briar thought it had gone better - the balloon hadn't hit a tree this time round. For a moment he had contemplated grabbing a fresh balloon and going after the second 'happy to hit someone when they're down' boy again, but had changed his mind and decided to take a juice break instead. After quenching his thirst with some apple juice Briar was ready to head back into the fray. Mayhaps this time round he'd manage to finish getting his revenge. It would be really cool if throwing carefully would guarantee a hit. It was true that Griffin took his time, he had a better chance of actually landing his shot, but that didn't mean that he landed every one. When his next one missed by only a hair, he punched the pile of balloons in front of him, popping one of them in his frustration.
Still, the bin was only about half empty, and there were lots more shots to be made.

Griffin watched Derek hit Briar, his eyes narrowed. It was true that Briar was his rival, and he wasn't about to stand and shield the other boy or anything. But theirs was a clash for the ages, and he wasn't sure how he felt about someone else horning in on it. The only one able to take his rival out of the match (through exhaustion or thorough soaking, not injury) was Griffin himself.
Maybe that was why Griffin threw his next balloon at Derek. He was starting to develop an eye for which ones might have the bubbles inside, and was thrilled to see that in this case at least, his guess had been spot-on, as had his aim.

While sifting through his bin, trying to sort the water-filled balloons and the soap-filled balloons, Griffin found something surprisingly hard. Not a rock or anything like that, though. He pulled it out and looked it over. It was a balloon, but it was filled with something other than liquid. Griffin had a couple of guesses as to what was in there, but he wasn't totallt sure. There was only one way to find out.
First, he squeezed the balloon to make sure that it wouldn't hurt whoever it hit. Then he lobbed it at the crowd that was gathered around a different bin. Sure enough, the balloon exploded, releasing a whirlwind of multicolored paper that rained down on the kids there.
How had a teacher even managed to cram that much confetti into a single balloon? Griffin scratched his head, then shrugged it off and went back to sorting.

Ack! Derek jumped when a balloon exploded on him and he whipped around in time to see Griffin was the culprit. All's fair in love and war I suppose. Picking up a balloon he lopped back at Griffin

Ralph was sneaking up behind Griffin now hoping to actually get the better of him. However, Ralph was worried that his aim was getting worse and worse.... That worry though was soon gone when he managed to nail Griffin in the shoulder with a water balloon. "Hah." He scampered off.Quote: Ralph is Targeting Griffin; Ralph has Hit his target! The bin only worked as a shield for attacks that Griffin saw coming. For ones that came from the side, or behind him, it didn't do much good. Which is how he found himself staring at his newly sopping wet shoulder, and then at the perpetrator of his shirt soakage. Ralph. Well, Griffin was just going to have to do something about while the other boy was still nearby.
Saving the balloons he thought were filled with suds, he instead launched a plain water one. No need to overdo this one. He needed to save the soapy ones for later, in case he was ganged up on.

...Well now... what was that... two hits in a row? How strange! Derek wondered if he could make it a third, and dove for the nearest balloon. Grabbing it, he scrambled to his feet and threw it at the first kid he saw. Which just so happened to be Ralph. Again. Oh this would be fun. Reaching as far back as he could, Derek threw the balloon clean at Ralph. Only to miss.
