With the pouch emptied of all her borrowed throwing weapons, it was time to begin the collection process. Since Akeru and her two classmates were perfectly capable of tending to themselves without her supervision, crazy how that worked, Amaya wasn’t concerned about running back and forth across the arena. However, that did not mean that she was going to move leisurely. While this was her normal walking pace, many people considered it “fast walking” – whatever that was. The young girl was accustomed to having to keep up with her father in a crowded market place and, oddly enough, his legs were far longer than her’s so it took some effort to keep pace with him. Amaya stopped half way in order to remove the shuriken that she had managed to bury in the ground upon her classmates boisterous arrival. She didn’t begrudge him for it; after all, it was just training.

However, once the girl reached the dummy she knew that this wasn’t going to be as easy as she imagined. Looking up, the girl realized that the target was substantially taller than she was and that shuriken that she had happily buried into its face was now a good ways out of her reach. On the controversially bright side, Amaya was able to just bend over to lift two of the three kunai she had off their indented spots in the ground. The ones that she had put in the stomach weren’t bad because they were at chest height for the girl. Once more the small Keiji looked up to the face, deciding the best way to get a hold of the shuriken. Biting her lip slightly, the girl sprung up high enough to grab the dummy’s arm and lifted herself long enough to grab the throwing star before slipping off the wooden surface. Though her landing lacked the grace that she someday hoped to achieve, the child happily tucked all of her weapons back into her pouch and eagerly returned to her position on the other side of the arena.

Once she was content with her position again, Amaya decided to work on her weakness first: the dreaded shuriken. There was absolutely no comfort or confidence to be had when throwing this weapon, but that couldn’t be helped. Preparing herself mentally, the small girl gripped the knife like Akeru had told her to, but it did little to help her. She took a small breath before letting the weapon fly, but she didn’t like the way she saw it flying. The kunai just barely missed the side of the target, the same side she had just barely been hitting, and it stuck into the ground with its handle in the air. Oh well, she wasn’t too surprised since it was a kunai and she hadn’t gotten any feedback on how to fix it yet. After all, she didn’t know what she was feeling for technique wise.

While it was great to work on a weak point, Amaya also needed a little confidence booster after missing yet again. Also, it would probably benefit her to alternate between the weapons so that she wasn’t bound to throwing them in groups. Then again, once she was able to customize her own artillery, kunai would be relatively minimal. No, instead she would carry more shuriken and senbon for throwing purposes. There would still be kunai but there wouldn’t be as many of them since she wouldn’t be throwing them – their only purpose would be for short range, hand to hand combat. Throwing them was just a silly thing that shinobi had to develop. No, they had a handle for a reason.

Once more Amaya pushed a little note back into her mind reminding her to ask how that had all occurred; even though she had already made that note once that training season. It never hurt to remind yourself multiple times. Regardless of whether or not her extraneous notes were silly, the child still had a task to attend to and she would be damned if she didn’t finish it quickly. After all, there were still plenty of assignments to move onto and to focus on. The young girl wanted to finish as quickly as possible now so that she could secure a spot on Akeru’s squad and make him proud of her. However that was going to complete a great deal of time and effort in her spare time, but it was worth it. After all if she wasn’t willing to spend time advancing herself outside of the classroom then she wasn’t going to be a very successful shinobi. Limiting time in such a careless fashion would undoubtedly come back to bite her later on in life.

With her mind focused on the rapid succession on her tasks, the Keiji pulled a shuriken out of her pouch. She was getting tired of playing around with a weapon that wasn’t supposed to be thrown in the first place. It was awkward and it actually didn’t make much sense in training aside from improvising. None the less, she had a lacking appreciation for the kunai in this exercise. Instead, her trusted shuriken rested in her hand, ready to be whirled across the arena; and so the girl obliged. Amaya had more confidence with this particular weapon, so the throw was harder than what she had been throwing the kunai with. Plus, she was more familiar with the flight pattern. The girl’s unwavering smile grew just slightly when the throwing star sunk into the target’s face. Who could complain about a face shot? Those would do plenty of damage.

Amaya was pleased with her face shot. It was always satisfying to watch and it was a place that would be detrimental if you actually managed to hit someone there in battle. How many people would get up and keep on fighting with a throwing star lodged in their face? Even better, how many people would be able to get up and continue fighting after having a shuriken buried into their face? Either way, it was a good shot, something to be proud of, and it also put her well into the final stretch of her task. So long as she didn’t miss, Amaya only had few more throws max in order to complete this assignment. It was an exciting feeling, much like nearing the end with all of her other tasks had been. It was so exhilarating for the girl because that would mean that not only did she better her abilities, but she would also get to move on and continue with a new ability and a new task. While she wouldn’t say she was about to burst, the girl definitely felt the swell of energy building up inside of her again. If she could keep this kind of enthusiasm going through her career she could be one of the most accomplished shinobi in the history of the Leaf Village; especially for having come from a civilian family. She would do both her village and her family proud with her accomplishments.

As she had done the numerous times before, Amaya took in a breath as she removed the shuriken from her pouch; always enjoying the smooth feel of the metal against her soft skin. With the same grip that she had in all her previous attempts, the young girl allowed the weapon to fly from her hand once again. Before it even struck the dummy, Amaya knew it was a good hit. She could see from the way it was curving that she had done well. Sure enough, the blade sunk into the heart of the dummy with a heavy “thunk” because of the force she had behind it. This was a wonderful accomplishment for her because she had managed such a wonderful shot without anyone’s assistance. Yes, she still enjoyed and appreciated having someone mentor her, but there was always a certain level of pride obtained in doing something so perfectly without anyone’s help. Quickly running over the math in her head, Amaya set a goal for herself. She wanted to have this assignment completed in a maximum of two more throws. No just barely hitting it and no missing it. This would take all of her focus and concentration and she was more than ready to dedicate herself to the task.

Assignment Complete

Once again the child found herself bubbling over with energy. If she could manage to hit the stomach or higher she would be done with the assignment and she could move onto whatever Akeru or Ko-sensei had in store for her. All she knew is that she wasn’t going to stop. This time, the girl didn’t allow for her mind to wander or for thoughts to hold her back from her assignment. No, instead she kept the same intensity that she had on that last throw and didn’t let go. Amaya slipped right into her routine; a shallow breath passing over her lips, feeling along the edge of the shuriken as she drew it out of hiding, and calming her mind as she got her desired grip on the weapon. Quickly and forcefully, much like the time before, the girl tossed the throwing star at the target and watched the flight pattern. This time, Amaya didn’t assume that she had made the shot. Though she was getting good at reading the flight pattern she didn’t want to assume that she knew what all was going on. For all she knew a gust of wind could sweep down over the arena and throw her shuriken to the side. But no, this one stuck hard and fast into the stomach, indicating that she had completed the assignment.

The same smile was still on her face as the girl walked over to the dummy to retrieve Akeru's weapons. She would give them back to him, but not with everyone standing around; though she didn’t know what exactly it was she didn’t want them to think, there was something that would be assumed if she gave the weapons back in front of them. With all of the metal gathered back into her pouch, the girl turned and walked away. The only difference this time is that she made her way over to the entrance where everyone was standing instead of heading back to her targeting spot. There was another little difference about her now. Even though her confidence was soaring and she was bubbling over with energy and happiness, Amaya drew back into her introvert shell. While she had gotten to know Sakura and she was comfortable with Akeru, this new kid was another story. They hadn’t said so much as a work to one another, so she hadn’t had the opportunity to acquaint herself with his habits and actions. No, she was back to testing the waters and observing more than she spoke. After all, she had been doing quite a bit of talking while showing Akeru around. Once she reached her teacher’s side, since he was the closest to the training field, she gave both Sakura and the new comer a slight nod to acknowledge them.

"Sakurayuki-chan, there's no need for such formalities."

Tentatively, she raised her head when he spoke softly, with a subtle air that no one could attempt to copy without somehow embarrasing themselves. It was just in his small way that it happened to grace him, which Sakura admired silently.

She admited to the elder figure that it was indeed her first day. Amaya-san seemed to have gotten over her shyness and aquainted herself with him quite well, seeing the intimacy between the two. A little more time together would sure have those two bonding, it seemed. She quickly scratched the irritation on her cheek before turning to him and asking what he was doing here.
After all, it wasn't often that you saw a Jōnin around the Academy for any reason at all. Even Hokage-sama was sighted more often than a regular Jōnin for explanations about the village, directly from the one who ruled it.

Behind him, the swift and nearly silent sound of metal cutting air was heard, followed by the secure 'thunk' which meant that the weapon had found it's target. Curious, she unthinkingly scratched her face again while glancing behind to see Amaya practicing her aiming, only to look back the person in front of her, waiting for his answer.

Just then, Inechi came by, loudly asking who this person was, along with a greeting to both her and Amaya. Grinning, she took the chance to introduce Inechi to the Uchiha in front of her.

"Ah, Uchiha-sama, this is Inechi Shironaegi. He's also a fellow student in our Academy class. Inechi-san, this is Akeru Uchiha-sama, a Jōnin from this village. He's also the head of Konoha's Hospital." she added, introducing the two to each other. Because of this sudden appearance, Sakura had to swallow her curiosity and make way for introductions first. She didn't mind too much though. Inechi was a nice person in his own right, and the three could talk together, along with Amaya-san if she finished with her training. Which, come to think about it, looked really fun. She had been given dolls and pretty playthings when she was in the civilian sector, but she liked the rubber kunai and shuriken that her cousin had presented her with when she moved back into the compound. Although, that didn't mean her love for plushies and dolls were diminished, no, not at all.

'But, this is completely out of the point,' she reminded herself as she tore her gaze away and now looked at the two again. "So, Inechi-san, did you come here for target practice?" she asked, also glancing at the still-silent clan member who hadn't replied to her yet. Turning to him, Yuki bowed a little. "I'm very sorry. Was I detaining you from your... work?" she asked, not knowing his purpose there.

Starting with Fudou's lunch Chisana slowly moved those she had gathered to a ledge. The dogs of the Inuzuka were no average animals, well at least Chisana was smart enough to think she could open the boxes by knocking them of a ledge. "Thank you." Pakku said rather late as someone pulled the tape over his mouth off. It wasn't that he wanted to be rude, he was just focused on getting the next knot undone.

Yae was eating her lunch. Cheater! Fudou quickly stopped giving her the evil eye though when she undid the last of her knots and stood up. She went over to him and he tensed. When she ripped the tape off him mouth he let out a yell. "Watch it!" She did free him, though, so he nodded at her after her advice. It was the biggest apology-concession-thanks gesture he'd make.

Shirogami walked out too with a jaunty encouragement that actually did work on Fudou, though perhaps not how the boy intended. Any further stewing the boy would do on the white haired kid was halted abruptly as he spotted his lunch being hauled to the edge of a small drop. A small drop, but one large enough to break his bento box if she got it over. He quickly sent another flare of chakra up to the knot and opened his mouth to yell, "Hey, Inuzuka! Watch your dog! Or you're giving me your lunch!"

That blast of chakra went nowhere, and he realised that with the way he was wriggling around his threats had nothing to back them up either. Annoyed at his inability to work things out, Fudou took a deep breath and focused inwards again. He put the dog and the Inuzuka out of his mind for now. Lunch could be solved with ramen. Just the thought of some nice tonkotsu (which he never got at home) was enough to get his stomach juices flowing again. Fudou's stomach grumbled, but he created another bit of chakra and sent it up his forearm. If it was any consolation, he was getting better at this. He threaded the chakra in between the strings making up the rope tying him at his midsection and tried to get a feel for the knot again and to see which angle would be best to attack it from. But he was careful. He didn't want to make them tighter again like his earlier attempt, especially since slipping out of this bond was out of the question.

Yae considered stopping the dog before she left, but decided against it. The whole lunchbox situation was just too adorable, though she would have been mad if she were in Fudou's situation. Without really acknowledging either boy's reaction to her tape-removal she left the classroom. It had been more of a way of defying stupid Ko-sensei than an act of kindness.

Now to find Sakurayuki. Yae would have been eating her own lunch, but she had Sakura's in one hand and hers in the other. The classroom seemed like the most logical place to start, but when she poked her head in she only found Ko-sensei and two new kids. One was speaking to Ko-sensei, the other (a Hyuuga from the looks of it) was practicing handseals. She quickly stepped out of the class, glad the instructor had been preoccupied and probably wouldn't have noticed her presence in the doorway.

Yae was trekking away from the track and toward the target practice range now. It was the last practical place left. The breeze carried the sound of metal striking target her way. Someone was there, at any rate. When she finally arrived, Yae was surprised by the group that had gathered there.

Naturally the complete stranger caught her eye first. His chakra signature was rather prominent; how had she not noticed it before? It gave Yae a certain impression of fierceness that didn't exactly translate into his physical form. He seemed pretty calm, or reserved at least, apart from the occasional fidget.

That Amaya girl was hitting targets with a good degree of accuracy. More than Yae could remember having herself. White hair had shown up, apparently just before she had, and asked what she was also wondering. Who was that guy?

Maybe he's a student teacher? But that doesn't make sense... he seems way cooler than Ko-sensei.

"Sakura-san, I brought your lunch." Yae had decided to stop staring at the others and speak up, clearing her throat before she spoke. She held up the untouched box in her right hand, offering it to the girl. "Er, and I sort of started eating mine already," she added, almost apologetically.

Sakurauki turned around as yet another voice called out her name from behind them.

"Sakura-san, I brought your lunch."

She found the voice to be Yae's, and she smiled as she greeted her. It seemed she had brought both bento boxes from the classroom. She grinned a little when she heard that Yae had already eaten a little portion of her lunch. Sakura didn't mind; it was understandable, really. Going over the "I'm sorry's" and "It's fine's", they bantered a bit before becoming a little serious again. Thanking her for bringing the lunch that she had forgotten to take with her, she went over the introductions, this time with Yae. To her knowledge, now the only person left was the kid who had been sparring with Inechi, and the two Inuzukas.

A little surprised at the amount of people that had wanted her attention, she gave a small laugh and turned her focus back to the Uchiha, hoping to (finally) get his reply.

Her mind warred within itself, between talking more with her role model, eating with Yae, and doing target practice. They all seemed so much fun, but sadly she could only do one at a time. Since the Jōnin should have already eaten with Amaya-san, she couldn't exactly ask him to eat with her either.

Oh the dilemma...! Sakurayuki fervently wished someone would magically read her mind and solve all three problems at once.

There must have been something about the way he sent his chakra up, because it caught the sweet spot of the knot and it loosened. One more tendril of chakra and pulling the right thread was enough to completely untie the knot, and the thin piece of rope joined the others on the floor. Fudou could now bring his arms to the front of his torso and wave them around. Freedom was so sweet now that he had been so long without it! He couldn't help but think that if it wasn't for a certain dog he would be able to eat his lunch now. Well, not that he would've. He had his pride. He would have waited until he got full control of his arms first, at least. No point in flopping around like a fish creating a show for others to see. Which meant untying two more knots.

He ignored the fact that Chiisana had dragged his lunch away for now. It was best to be slightly short-sighted when faced with great difficulties. Only one more knot, only free the arms... and so on. To his pleasure Fudou discovered that he could reach the next knot with his newly freed hands. It was a simple matter of hooking one finger into the knot and working at it until it gave. Now he only had 6 more knots left.

Hyuuga Takami
User Image

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

The young Hyuuga smiled humbly and give a quick bow to acknowledge his thanks to the elder ninja. Quickly, Takami followed the man's hand towards a bulletin board, posted with some sheets about extra reading, target practice, strength training, and even chakra control. Deciding to do the tasks in order, the boy jotted down the required reading, and a couple extra, strength building exercises, quickly left the classroom, bowing slightly on the way out. Stopping just outside the door, the boy look left and right, in hopes of finding a sign directing him to the library, but found none, deciding to go upstairs to see if there were any signs up there, but again there were none. With purpose, the boy walked down the hall, looking into each open to door to try and see if there was any indication of a library, or someone who could direct him to the library, passing by an open door, with some of his classmates, tied up in ropes. "I'm sure glad I'm not doing that!" he smirked, continuing to stare into the classroom, waling ahead now and almost running face first into one of the older students. "Hello, could you tell me where the library is," He asked meekly and was directed up to the third story, the final story, and when walking up the final steps of the stair case, opening the door, and walking through, the young boy was surprised by the vast collection of books, scrolls, and weapons, mostly small items such as shurikens, kunais, and senbons, and being distracted by the large collection of books, Takami didn't notice the young women approaching him until she spoke, "Hello, may I help you?" her voice warm and friendly. The boy looked back at her startled, taking a few step away from in fear, the looking at the ground quietly, hoping he hadn't embarrassed himself to much. "Uh... I... I..." he muttered, crinkling the note in his hand, but quickly unfolding it and looking at the young librarian, "I some books over first aid, I'm doing extra credit to get ahead!" he said proudly, showing her the list he had made. She quickly nodded and walked off towards the back left corner of the library, returning several minutes later with two thin books and a few scrolls, dropping them into Takami's arms with relief, "There you go!" she said warmly, her voice calming. Quickly, the boy tried to bow to her, but found it difficult with the books in his arm, settling with a slight dip of his head.

The boy quickly turned around, and left the library, heading down two flights of stairs to the main level, quickly making it back to the classroom, and looking through the doors, he saw the new student, getting ready to practice his hand seals, as Takami had done before. Not wanting to distract his fellow classmate, the boy continued walking, finding himself outside, along with several other students. He looked around, and tried to stay out of the other student's sights to avoid conversation, finding a small garden just several feet from the target training. Sitting on a rock, the boy looked down at the books and scrolls, putting them in the same order as they were on the list, and then taking the first scroll, he glanced at the title: A Beginner's Guide to Medical Herbs, "That sounds more like a book used to teach alchemy, then first aid!" he though reluctantly, opening the scroll to look at the list of ingredients scanning the scroll, and noticing, in small print, 'Page 1 of 2,' quickly going for the second half of this lesson. Finally looking down at the first scroll, Takami read about a series of medicines including Aloe, Black Cohosh, and coffee beans, each having a different purpose. "Aloe, Good for burns," he said to himself, writing it down on a blank scroll, "Black Cohosh is extremely rare, but it can be used in an antidote for rattlesnake venom, and coffee beans give you a boost of energy." He looked more at the scroll, simplifying the ingredients in his notes, the scroll way over explained each ingredient. After a few more minutes, the boy reached the last ingredient of the scroll: holly. "Help protect against Genjutsu," he noted, drawing a picture of the plant next to it, going back to each ingredient and doing the same. Quickly rolling up the scroll, the boy tied the lavender-colored ribbon around the middle and placed the scroll on his left side, signifying that he was done with it.

Takami reached over to his right side and grabbed the next scroll, untying the lavender ribbon and unrolling the scroll: Poisonous Fungi and Herbs 1 of 2. "Wait.... That's not it," he said looking down at the other scrolls, pulling the small labeling sticker off of the scroll he was holding, rolling the scroll back up and grabbing the scroll labeled that of the one he's holding. Quickly, the boy grabs the scroll and unrolls it, finding that again, the scroll is mislabeled. "Great....." he thought, pulling the sticker off and placing them on the shoulder of his robe, grabbing the next scroll, which of course, was mislabeled again. Pulling the label off, and going through the rest of the scrolls, finding only another correctly labeled scroll: A Beginner's guide to curing poison, he placed the scroll, over by his finished scrolls by his left leg. Looking through the scrolls, and matching the label with the scrolls, putting them in order: Medical Herbs Part Two, Poisonous Herbs and Fungi Part one and part two, Land Animal Poisons Part One and Two, Marine Animal Poisons Part One and Two, and then the two books: Medicals Products and Curing Poisons. The boy quickly snatched up the next scroll, untying the lavender string around it.
