Waiting for the girls to get back

User ImageRoland chuckled at Dimitri's rating of the altercation from earlier. Three, three and a half? Really? Let's see him try and do what he did with the level of speed Roland used. Roland is one of those kinds of people that had been doing this for a long time. Some of the people on this team had some combat experience, which he had to admit was impressive. However, Roland had been doing this since he was a child. The experience he had accrued had made him quite a warrior.

The description of how Dimitri would have handled the fight made him get into a critique, "Well, a triangle choke is relatively difficult even for the most experienced fighters. You're better off just going for an arm bar. May not look as cool, but it gets the job done." if there was one thing Roland had when it came to fighting, it was efficiency, "One time I went up against a hydro-kinetic Capoeirista. Damn near drowned before I could break the femur with my elbow. Sometimes, it's the simple ways of finishing a fight that are the best."

Jacen happened to stop by, remarking that they should be so lucky that they had dates. "Well Jacen you did the more ballsy thing by going by yourself. Shows confidence man." he remarked, which was the truth, "And unlike Dimitri's idea, you could very well get a few numbers. Not everyone is so easy." Dimitri replied in kind to his impromptu toast of the night. Jacen offered to have the two of them join his group for some chit-chat. Roland nodded politely, but he wasn't feeling it for the male camaradarie tonight. He was already having a fun time with Kerrigan, and he didn't want to pass that up.

"If you don't mind guys, I think I'll pass. I was planning on going for a walk with Kerrigan after this dance." he answered, reaching into his pocket for his pack of cigarettes. Something in his mind told him to smoke at the moment, but the other half of him was not in the mood. So he kept fighting with the side that told him not to. And he did something that he wasn't expecting to do.

He took the pack and put it back in his pocket. He didn't bother slapping it to pack the tobacco, and all he did was just stand there and wait for the beautiful redhead to return. He smiled, wondering if there was something in the air.

Or did this woman really have some kind of effect on him this evening?

Kerrigan grinned as Daylia was dragged out onto the dance floor with Lillian and herself. They both passed their drinks off to their respective dates, Kerrigan laughing as Roland asked the power mimic not to keep her from him for too long. Was she really that good of company? Or maybe he was just uncomfortable standing around on his own. Either way, the brunette made no promises, though Kerrigan was resolved not to spend too much time ignoring her date for girlfriends and dancing. For the moment, however, she was going to at least indulge her friend and have a few moments of fun. Despite everything going on in the world around them, her pile of school work that still needed to be done, and the nagging need to run around and play mother hen to everyone for the night, as she normally spent these kinds of functions, she was having a genuinely good time.

Looking at Daylia as Lillian assured her that no one was going to be paying that close of attention, she couldn't help but laugh. The power mimic had a point. Not that they were trying to impress anyone in particular. Wasn't there a Will Smith song about girls dancing together? Wow, she was kind of embarrassed that she even knew that. Her body went back to work, winding and swaying to the music in time with the girls around her. A body bumped into her, Kerrigan's natural reflexes keeping her, and the girl that grabbed onto her for balance, on their feet. The girl offered a quick apology, finally releasing Kerrigan from her grip, and the redhead simply smiled, waving the apology off.

"Don't worry about it, it happens," she said simply, glad to see that she was alright and hadn't eaten the floor. Tara had joined them, by this point, unable to get Aurelie to join them as well. Lillian introduced herself in response to Peyton, inviting her to join the dance as well. The former Omega was having way too much fun with this, but it made her smile. It was nice to see her so excited about something.

"Kerrigan. Nice to meet you, Peyton. Don't let Miss Anxious here hijack you, but you are welcome to join us," she said with a laugh over the music, bumping Lillian with her hip playfully. As she did a spin, her green eyes caught sight of Roland speaking with Dimitri, giving him a small wave from her position with the ladies. It was endearing how patient he was being, since she was dragged away.

Lillian called out to Cissa, inviting the blonde to join them as well, the redhead nodding in approval despite the fact that it looked like she was being dragged into team business despite the social atmosphere of the evening. What really caught her off guard was the appearance of a Child amongst them, whom she could only assume belonged to the new arrival amongst the group. At least that situation hadn't exploded yet…

The song came to an end, changing to a new beat, and Kerrigan glanced over at her date. She'd promised him it would be quick, and he was being such a good boy since the incident with the other boy.

"Alright ladies, I'm going to rescue my date from Dimitri, before his head gets filled with bad boy thoughts," she said with a laugh, breaking away from them with a flutter of her fingers. She hoped that they would take care of the new girl and make sure that she felt welcome. Whichever team she was on, they would be well represented. Well, they should be well represented, given present company. Surely, she wouldn't be missed too much.

By the time she made it back to Roland he was already looking at her, the redhead chuckling slightly as she stopped in front of him, brushing her hand back over the top of her head to smooth any flyways from her undo. She overheard the tail end of what he was saying to Dimitri and Jacen, a grin breaking across her features as he mentioned he was still planning on taking that walk with her. He fiddled with something in his pocket, though she didn't say anything about it for the time being.

"Turning them down for little ol' me? Don't I feel special," she said with a tone of sarcasm, giving the other two boys a smile as she slipped her arm through Roland's.

"Ready?"

She would have been remiss, not to realize that there was someone watching them in the shadows. It was, after all, in her job description to be the one hiding in the darkness and retaining sensitive information for the Countess. She shifted her weight from one foot to the other, seeming to sway innocently with the faint breeze. It smelled like spring. Or what she imagined, it should smell like.

Her gunmetal blue eyes flickered to Elliott, watching him take her advice and start breathing…Hopefully it would help him calm down a little. He looked so uptight, that she could swear she heard his pulse hammering from three feet away. The sounds of someone coming closer caused her to tense… And then relax, when she realized the footfalls were far too light to be Gideon.

So she lived to annoy him another day. Wonderful.

Turning her head towards the newcomer, a small, half smirk toyed across her features at the dry assumption the girl had come to… “Yoga instructor? Not so much. Perfect? Thank you for noticing.”

“See…She agrees with me. Breathe.”

Eli took it upon himself to introduce them, precluded by a belch. The shape shifter rolled her eyes and kicked him lightly in the knee. Not enough to hurt, but enough to have his attention. Her italian accent was light, barely there as she purred. “Manners, Eli.”

He introduced them, and she smiled at the mention of her name—Her head nodding in the new girls direction. She looked…Oddly familiar. Was it the girl who’d been standing by the gate? Watching all of the princes and princesses leave for prom? Her head tilted as she studied her… “You were the girl, by the gate earlier?”

She was quiet for a moment, before she moved, taking a seat beside the nervous nelly called Eli. “Our friend here hates crowds. And dancing. Is that why you stayed?”

Kat spent so much time in feline forms, that occasionally, her line of questioning seemed…Curious as a kitten.

Eli mentioned something about wine, and she laughed. “I’ll see what I can procure.”

“Though I can’t promise it will be tonight.”

Not only was he more anxious than anyone she’d ever met… He was a burgeoning alcoholic. That couldn’t be…Favorable, for a mutant.

User ImagexxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxOmega - A night with Raine

A lopsided, challenging grin lit Aren's features when Felix countered his argument, finding their game of wits extraordinarily humorous. “You mean, you won't be angry when all your lady friends come back for seconds of the man fresh off the reservation.” He tilted his head, glancing at both of his female friends, chocolate eyes indicating he was including them into his next line. “Ask any woman, something about a Native, the raw authenticity of someone unparalleled in being able to survive... they find incredibly appetizing.” And it wasn't until he looked both of them up and down with a flick of his gaze, that he returned to Felix for a second helping of banter. “I'd say you should try it some time... but as a speedster you'd probably rush things.” While he'd tried to be deadpan as he said it, the dimples on either side of his mouth were predominant as the corners of his lips pulled upward into a teasing smile.

The size shifter would have been content to go all night making remarks back to his team mate, but neither of the girls found it entertaining enough to not try and start a war on the dance floor. Damn. “My sight, and my judgment are fine. But I think both ladies in attendance are stunning in two different ways. Could you not agree to that, Felix?” Maybe it was wrong to pull him into the conversation, but Felix ought to have wanted both women to get along as well. After all, Raine was his friend.

Uh huh.” Aren scoffed at Felix's remark that he anything but white crust. “I don't know...” He said, wiggling his eyebrows as he searched the ceiling for answers. “I doubt, highly so.. that even you would be up to speed on a few of my tricks.” Oh the irony, and how it seemed to be the native's friend. “And I think you need a history lesson, my poor, uncultured friend. It is not the natives who steal from the white man, but the white man who steals from those he calls a savage.

As a gentleman, he insisted that he wouldn't allow for anyone to take advantage of Raine, should she choose to drink the punch. Call it old fashioned, but the native had the backwards way of life down, and had been taught the importance of chivalry. Though, Felix seemed irritated with the native's date... and made a snide remark about the spark plug wanting just the opposite. “Nah,” He said, dismissing the claim with little more than a passing thought. “I'm sure she'd much rather remember any experiences we would have together.” The hand on her back moved just a bit, subtly giving her support to stand tall against any further commentary. So far, she'd been doing a good job.

Good to know.” Aren mused with his date when she said she still cared. At least, for now... things were calming down. Raine laughed at something Cissa said in regards to taping their sexcapades, and Aren relaxed a little – happy that both women were trying at least, to behave.

And only you would forget that it was how I would take it.” He countered, grinning. “Sometimes, you're too innocent for your own good, ki'somma.” She made a remark about his being able to shift his size at will, and only laughed at the implication of her words. The way he looked at her, when he made the silent challenge for her to take a peak herself sometime, softened the woman. The effect had been more than he'd been hoping for, and he smirked. Sometimes, he could actually believe he was winning.

The same smile he always wore around Cissa finally returned when she accepted who he came with, telling him in an offhand way that it was alright if he didn't want to be held back for the time being. “Well, you know ki'somma... that eventually the Blackfoot got what they wanted, anyway.” He would allow her to think of it what she would, not giving any indication outwardly if he meant Raine, or Narcissa. And to keep the peace, he wouldn't say.

Chocolate eyes bore into Raine, and for a moment he took on an impish expression. “The camera's ready. Want to make a show?” He joked, knowing well what the answer would be.

Someone tripped into their group just as they all settled into a veil of complacency with each other, and Raine was quick to help the guy, asking if he was alright. He wouldn't be for long, if he chose to hang around a rather testy Cissa. And while he'd been able to keep the fireworks clamped down for the most part where his own date had been concerned... asking her to behave with Sir Clumsiness would definitely be pushing a bit too hard.

Another guy joined their party, this one had a child. Aren tried not to frown, but he didn't exactly think this was the best place for a kid to be. Not just the prom... but the academy wasn't always safe. The X-men had so many adversaries for trying to be the good guys. Things weren't likely to get better any time soon, what with the Human Haters clubs, and then Magneto's forces... Hellfire and all the guys in between.

Especially not for a little girl. Cissa seemed to have the same sort of reaction, and Aren let out a breath he'd not been aware he'd been holding. But she was kind to the child, as he'd known she would be. Something about the way the blond led her team was maternal. She'd been a strict parent in the past... And while few people could see it, there was an overly large heart behind all the fiery heat that the Omega queen gave off.

She wouldn't want Elizabeth so close to the line of fire. And he agreed. Completely.

Pristine blue eyes widened in mock disdain when his favorite songstress compared him to Scott. “If it were coming from anyone else, I'd take that as an insult, doll.” But he knew of her fondness for the man, that old OneEye had taken care of her, served as a father when no one else could. “However, he and I share an interest in keeping you safe.... I don't think I'd go as far as locking you up.” Of course, he'd just resort to “sticking” her somewhere. Maybe wrapping her in bubblewrap just to be sure.

And she clearly had no clue how someone acquired beads at Mardi Gras; else she'd have been shoving him in a different direction, telling him he was ridiculous. Rather than tell her just yet, he returned her smile with his own, white teeth flashing genuinely behind his lips.

And just before you said that, I'd been carrying a pocket mirror just for that reason.” He teased, laughing at how she'd convinced some of the student population that he batted for the other team. “But I broke it when someone surpassed me in the looks department. And have decided I need to go and buy some cyanide and a few apples.” Even deadpan, it was clear that he was joking.

The trick with the bell left him laughing outright, his eyes sparkled with his mirth at her antics. This was the Bella he remembered and loved. Well, at least more so than the shell he'd met tonight. “Oh some of the boys are very prideful... and don't take well to someone de-masculating them.

For just a second, he thought the battle was over, until she spoke of people leaving. His gaze locked onto hers as he watched her fade back into the empty vessel. “I won't leave you this time around.” He promised, his voice sincere. “If I have to go, I'll take you with me.” Wouldn't that have been nice... had she come along for the ride, he doubted that he could have been convinced to divert back to the teams. It wouldn't have been as lonely.

His lungs drew in a sharp, sympathetic breath at how she'd said she tired of waiting... “I know.” A lot of mutants felt the same way, wanting nothing more than to catch a break. Live in peace. “But at least now, you don't have to wait alone.

Let's see, doll... Should I list the reasons alphabetically or numerically?” He asked in jest about her dark and twisty romance desires. “That you're Hispanic normally means romance was bred within you...” His list went on, all completely joking. ”And my sight is just fine thanks – better when you're in the line of it.” Cue the cheesy grin, lopsided... unintentionally cute.

The pleasure's all mine.” The Texan drawled to Siege, raising an eyebrow instead of a glass in a mock toast. Too many times he'd gone to this sort of event... too many times he'd partaken in the punch, secretly hoping that someone hadn't soiled the liquid yet. And considering he'd just handed Bella a cup filled to the brim, he planned on taking it slow – drinking only when his mouth became dry. “Isabella is a solid leader; you'll enjoy working with her.

The boy seemingly became distracted with Marcel, who was trying to make the punch a bit more potent, and Blake left the two to each other's company. No doubt they'd find more to speak of than he could copulate, given Bella's change in personality.

He'd quacked at her once more, if only to get her to laugh. It worked rather well, until she caught sight of her significant other. Instantly, her naturally tanned skin paled. But the sound manipulator merely nodded when he asked if she was alright, and only murmured that the situation between her and Gideon was complicated. Obviously. And she was enough on edge that she didn't even flinch as she swallowed the alcohol that she'd been half-against before.

It's nice to re-meet you.” Honestly, he'd not remembered the guy all that well – until Bella wrote to him about their budding relationship. He'd known of him, but must not have been aware as to who he was before. Rather than appearing rash, Blake shook the man's hand briefly, attempting not to be curt. If he hadn't been a huge fan before, this night wasn't chalking up any points in the clone's favor.

Were she not grasping for straws on not being caught alone with Gideon, Blake might have insisted that she go with her beau... telling her that he didn't mind. Instead, he stood close, not denying the idea that he'd not find her departure rude. It was better this way. For her. And at the end of the day, that was all that the cowboy was concerned about.

She was more akin to a treed coon than she was a loving girlfriend right now; the scene entirely uncomfortable to watch. And when Gideon called her out on imbibing in the punch, it only got worse. “Bottoms up.” He said with a smirk, knowing well that Isabella was merely being contrary as she took his full cup and replaced it with her empty one.

His best friend slid an apologetic expression his way, but Blake had forgiven her for any awkward feeling that had evolved from this situation before she'd even thought to tell him. She told Gideon once more that she wasn't inclined to give him a private conversation, and instinctively he stepped toward her. The amount of conviction in her voice made it clear that she wasn't going to budge, and while he didn't want to fight his best friend's boyfriend... He didn't want her to feel cornered either.

The former HYDRA agent thanked him for taking care of Bella up until this point, as though he were dismissed from the duty - and Blake remained cool, calling in on the endless patience he'd had to have for getting new students to join the school. All the while his teeth clamped down hard on his tongue so that he wouldn't make the dark haired beauty even more miserable by sparking an argument. And it was her that corrected him, loudly enough that the third wheel could get the drift of what was really going on here.

She told him to go dance with some of the girls on the floor, and Blake shrugged. “I'll make sure she gets home safely if she drinks any more.” He promised with the classic Southerner's charm. “Enjoy your night, Gideon.” And somehow, his words hadn't come out smug.

Guess mama did teach the boy some manners.

Vee stopped a bit away from where Kat and Eli were sitting. Close enough so that the weak light the lamplight gave off illuminated her features, but far enough that the two-foot radius of colder air that usually accompanied her didn't reach them. She didn't want them conversing with chattering teeth, even though that was a bit of an exaggeration.

Eli took a moment to speak, going through the breathing exercises Kat had suggested earlier. Then, visibly swallowing his courage, he introduced himself and Kat and asked for Vee's name. Even when doing a task as simple as that, the boy was awkward. No wonder he didn't attend prom.

The girl, Kat, on the other hand... Vee couldn't fathom why she wasn't currently at the dance. Considering her confident posture, and the fact that she made most the conversation, Vee thought she would fit in easily. Why had she stayed? And what had she seen earlier near the girl's neck? Kat seemed to be almost covering it, lowering her chin so that her neck and the upper part of her shirt was covered in shadow.

"My name's Vee," she said, her tone soft and airy.

At Kat's question, Vee stiffened, and she glanced at her suspiciously. Was she watching her a few hours earlier, like Vee was her and Eli. She didn't think there was anyone nearby. The only person, or animal, she encountered was a cat. "You were that cat earlier, circling around my feet?" she asked in turn. Then, "You're a shapeshifter, aren't you?"

Then Kat asked why Vee hadn't attended the prom, oh-so-casually revealing the reason why Eli didn't in the process. But she didn't say why she herself didn't go. Vee thought about the question. When it came to social events like that, she was nearly as socially awkward as Eli. She wouldn't do so well in prom. And especially not with an unfamiliar crowd. She didn't really have any dresses suitable for prom anyway.

"Truthfully, I didn't know there was a prom until today," she admitted. "I arrived at the Academy just this afternoon. But yes, I'm not particularly fond of crowds either." She cocked her head, blue-green eyes studying Kat. "And you?"

Daylia couldn’t help but laugh at Dimitri’s reaction to her description of deformed member. "You’re welcome." She said sweetly a slick smile playing over her lips. And of course she wasn’t going to let him off the hook that easily. "Yeah, all men tend to think their performances are at least satisfying." And a lot of men did. They thought they were awesome in bed, but once you spoke to the woman, you learned what really went on.

Daylia may have made a mistake with tossing back her drink so fast. She didn’t realize just how many people must have spiked it. But then again, how shocking could it really be in a school filled with people that had powers? After all, the teachers couldn’t really just sit and watch the punch bowl all night.
"I might switch to water." She agreed, though only to try and keep herself hydrated. Water backs, as she had always heard, were good for the time between drinks.

Daylia had still felt slightly guilty for allowing herself to be whisked away by Kerri, even though Dimitri had told her to have fun. Tara had soon joined Kerri, Lillian and herself. Daylia couldn’t help but laugh at Lillian’s comment about adding another hottie to the mix. Of course Daylia never thought of herself in that light.
"Oh yeah, till I end up elbowing someone in the face." She said in response, the grin still on her lips.

Lillian had called out to Cissa to join them, but the blond leader seemed to be slightly busy. Daylia couldn’t help but become confused by the sight of a child by the Omega leader. Did Cissa even like kids? Or was the poor darling in danger being that close to the sun goddess? Though before Daylia could dwell on the thought any longer another woman had come up to the group, bumping into red head Kerri.

The blond had apologized then introduced herself.
"Hey, I’m Daylia." She said with a small wave, figuring it would be best to add her name into the mix just like everyone else. Lillian seemed to be having a good time, what with trying to get everyone to dance with the group.

Shockingly Daylia wasn’t doing too bad of a job as she tried to keep with the beat, trying to make it look like she knew what she was doing. Though thankfully she was able to take the body cues from the other women surrounding her. Hopefully she looked half decent, and not like she was seizureing out on the floor. Of course as the song changed, Kerri had excused herself from the group, saying she needed to get Roland away from Dimitri. Daylia laughed. Hopefully Roland was a better man than to take advice from a man who called himself play boy.

"He’s not that bad." Daylia called after the read head.

Daylia felt warm, and knew it was because Kerri had caught her after tossing back a cup of punch. She was going to need to rest for a moment and possibly grab some water. She turned back to the other women with a smile.
"Thank you ladies for the dance, but I need a drink real quick." She said before dismissing herself.

Daylia had two reasons for dismissing herself. One was for the water, and the other was for the awkward feeling she was getting by being left to three women she hadn’t really spoken to. She shook her head as she made her way to the snack and refreshment table. A smile flashed on her face as she looked to Dimitri before she grabbed and uncapped a bottle of water.
"Sorry bout that." She said, even though she was tempted to go back out.

D’s blue grey orbs watched the three women she had left on the dance floor. She had stuck around for a song and a half, and that had been enough for her at the moment.

The magnetokinetic raised an eyebrow at Kat as she told him to mind his manners. "Excuse me?" He said in a questioning manner. He wasn't used to being around people, so he never really said excuse me or anything of the sort.

He sat there and continue to watch Kat and Vee as they clamored on about why they were wherever they were. It intrigued him. It's as if they were having some sort of competition as to who had a better reason to be away. Or at least, that's what it appeared to him. That very well may have not been the case, but his life experiences have been minimal compared to most, and with females, even smaller than the previously stated.

Continuing to watch, the magnetokinetic listened in and took in every word they said, analyzing how they spoke, what they spoke about, and their thoughts on each other, almost as if studying them. And not realizing it, Eli had slowly calmed down, no longer getting anxious as he became curious with the interaction of the two. It was almost mysterious to him, how girls worked, especially of one with the personality of a cat, which made him realize that that was the reason why she was so close to him before. It reminded him of one of the animals the nurses would bring in to his room, the cat would always rub against him and push itself closer and up into his hand.

Eli had let out a small laugh as he realized another ironic thing about the situation. Kat, could turn into a cat. something as trivial as that set off his unexpanded sense of humor.

User ImageAfter bumping into the tall redhead, she introduced herself as Kerrigan, as well as others in the group introducing themselves as Lillian and Daylia. She smiled at their friendliness, glad that she hadn’t run into one of those groups of uptights that thought the world should revolve around them and anyone who didn’t bow down was an a*****e. The type that felt unjustly wronged if someone had the nerve to even accidentally brush them in passing, even if they were the ones blocking the walkway so that everyone else had to try to squeeze around them. She was very pleased with the group she’d accidentally stumbled into. Kerrigan dismissed her apology and Lillian invited her to dance with them. Really it’d been more of an ultimatum: dance or ditch. But her tone and the smile on her face made it clear that it had been more of a playful statement. And anyway, she wasn’t going to stand around not dancing in the middle of the dance floor.

It’s nice to meet you.” She responded to Kerrigan, though she was referring to all of the girls she’d just met. They seemed like a fun bunch, at least they were out on the dance floor having fun and not standing around like wallflowers. It was made fairly clear that she was welcome to dance with them, but that she didn’t have to, and she didn’t even really think about it. It wasn’t as though she had anywhere to be, or anyone waiting on her. She didn’t even know anyone here. If she stayed and danced she could have a little fun and make some new friends, so there wasn’t much to debate.

She felt like such a dork as she danced. But she would rather be a dork than a stick in the mud, and she had always been pretty good at laughing at herself. Sticks in the mud were no fun at all, too afraid of making a fool out of themselves to actually be fun to hang out with, at least in her opinion. Why would she want to hang out with somebody who never did anything fun?? Like the girls that got in their bikinis and lied out by the pool, only to get pissed off when someone jumped in and a little water splashed them. Those types just needed to loosen up and have a good time, and not worry about how they looked doing it, ,because they looked just awful as sticks in the mud and looking any other way would be an improvement.

She wasn’t exactly a bad dancer, she had rhythm, she could keep to the beat, she’d even taken dance classes from a fairly young age. It was just that she had never really danced in a group of girls like this before, not unchoreographed anyway. Her movements tended to be a little on the explosive side, fluid for the most part, with a little BAM here and there, rather emphatic and passionate, as was her tendency. She had certain habits, some good, some ‘bad.’ Honestly, she knew what she was doing, she knew what she needed to take from her dance classes, just because her instructor didn’t, that didn’t make what she did wrong. And she could be awful stubborn about it when she wanted to be. She absolutely refused to ‘correct’ anything about her dancing that would hinder her in her sport, which she cared about a hell of a lot more than the dancing that she was really only taking to improve her lines.

After the song ended, Kerrigan left the group to get back to her date and Peyton’s eyes followed her curiously to see who her date was. “I had fun dancing with you, Kerrigan!” she called after her, just in case she didn’t get the chance to tell her after this. She’d already told her that it was nice to meet her, and she wasn’t going to go overboard with that, but she would let the redhead know that she’d enjoyed her company, never shy about shouting across a room though she was careful about her breathing as she did. This wasn’t exactly the best place to demonstrate what she could do, purposely or otherwise. It was just something she had to be mindful of while she was dancing, to make sure she didn’t Big Bad Wolf the place.

Her attentions turned back to the girls still present and before too long, Daylia also left the group to get a drink. She gave her a smile and a slight nod as she left, then looked over at Lillian, one of the remaining girls in the now smaller group. “Did you come with a date?” she asked, wondering if she was being kept from dancing with someone else, maybe someone that she would rather be dancing with? She brushed some of her blonde strands away from her face, her hair having bounced out of place in response to her dancing.

Raphael Ruiz a.k.a Technomancer

Location: The Music Room ||Who's with me: Alex, Anthony and Vee ||Current Thought: Yeah... for a smart guy, I feel like a total idiot. || Team: Alpha ||

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬┤| Motorize me. The gears are cranking and I've got it in mind to show what my works can do. |├▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Standing in a music room of strangers while in a tux was not a part of Raph's plan. What was he thinking to allow himself to go and try to join another student to prom? Especially someone he didn't know much about! It was like he was trying to punish himself. Since leaving his hometown, it was hard to try and befriend anyone. Too much of a hassle and no way to truly trust another beyond lessons and exercises. Maybe this was why the technopath spent so much time around machine rather than the other students... No, it was more than that. With the various components of machinery, things never got too complicated when it came down to emotions. It was just parts coming together to form a bigger unit. No issues of intimacy or abandonment. One of the girls (Vee) had an armful of papers in her arms as she pushed her way past him and the guy (Anthony) beside him. Whoa. Now see, this is something I never would’ve had to deal with when working with tech.

When the door slammed behind the retreating girl, Raphael turned to face the other young lady (Alex). Just prior to his being shoved, the blonde-haired student started to introduce herself or was building up to it. It turned out that she was the one that mentioned going to prom. After looking her over cautiously, he came to the conclusion that she didn't bear any kind of negative distinctions. Was it possible that things wouldn't turn out as bad as he'd expected? It was too soon to tell. Basing a decision off a person’s appearance was foolhardy. The most he could do at the moment was continue with his interaction and see where it went.

Raphael dropped his eyes to the floor as he waited for some form of ridicule to set in, but it didn’t happen. There was a smile and a giggle, but he’d only caught the latter. Did I sound as dumb as I thought? She never said if it were so, but who would? Only a cold, unfeeling person would… Either that or an oblivious individual, but regardless, his request was accepted. Raph looked up at his new prom partner, because considering the girl his date was simply out of the question, and arched an eyebrow skeptically. “Really?” he started. “You’re sure you don’t mind having a techno-geek hanging around?” As petty as the technopath felt about his question, it was an honest one. Why bother with being someone who didn’t want you around? That was already part of the reason he was at the academy. In addition to that, his skepticism toward others’ ulterior motives kept him at bay.

“I’m not sure if you had anything to do with her leaving. She might’ve had something important going on… or something.” No surefire way of telling whether the deduction was accurate, but for this girl to shoulder the blame, it seemed kind of illogical. It didn’t make for a plausible case for her to blame her act of kindness Raph, again, fell silent as she continued speaking. He now knew that her name was Alex. More like a form of it, but she made it clear that she preferred the nickname compared to her given one. One thing for certain, it was his turn to crack a smile.

A tiny grin formed on the young man’s countenance as Alex declared the names she didn’t wish to be addressed. “I think I can manage that. And it’s nice to meet you too,” said Raphael gently. “Besides I wouldn’t exactly call that rambling. It’s more of being socially forward.” This was more than he would say out loud to anyone, but something about this girl made him feel a little less uncomfortable. Then the conversation turned to their team. A fresh wave of nerves overtook what little confidence he had mustered. “Yeah, I did.”

By some stroke of luck, he’d managed to find a fellow prom-goer, who also turned out to be a teammate. Should things work out, he could potentially have someone he could interact with. Maybe even eventually trusting Alex, but that probably wouldn’t happen for a while. But should worse come to worst, Raph could picture his immediate reaction. Swallowing hard, he gave the best smile possible and replied, “I guess we will, but I don’t think I’ll be much of a power player on the field. We’ll probably find out whenever we get out in the field, right?”

It appeared that his teammate was eager to leave. How he came to this deduction, simple. She expressed the desire verbally. There were no arguments from the tech manipulator as he followed the young lady out of the music room. Shouldering his bag once more, Raphael turned out of the threshold and spotted Alex waiting for him. This surprised him. A part of him thought that she would disappear or something along those lines, but she proved him wrong. Maybe he could afford to relax around the friendly girl.

“And to the prom, we will go.” Raph offered a light enigmatic smile as he hesitantly hooked his arm around hers and began to lead her toward the building’s exit. Was this an awkward move? He’d been out the game a little too long, but she did say she was ready to go. If he made the wrong move and she scolded him, he would apologize. But as far as he was concerned, the time was wasting away. The door seemed to grow larger as Raph moved closer until he finally reached it. Opening it, he held it so that his new acquaintance could pass through it. “Damas primera,” said the dark-haired Alpha before translating. “Ladies first.”

A walk to enjoy

User ImageRoland looked around asKerrigan walk back to him. It was pleasant to see her, she looked beautiful tonight. As he did his eyes caught two things: the sight of a gentleman with small child next to him, he took note of his posture and in his head made a guess that he was military of some kind. He didn’t have a clue if this was the case, but he had a feeling. That kind of posture comes from it being drilled into someone in a strict controlled environment. The little girl next to him appeared to be holding a stuffed animal of some kind, he could only guess at what it was. The other thing he noticed was the sight of a guy cleaning up the floor where he presumably spilled his drink. Least it didn’t land on anyone like the last dance. That would have likely wound up with a swift kick to the groin, not a pretty sight to say the least.

Kerrigan arrived and laced her arm around his, asking if he was ready. He let out quickly, “You bet.” he smiled broadly, his eyes brightened up a bit as he lead her gently to the door, "Well they say bros before hoes, but with how you look I can politely say 'screw that logic'."

“Did you see the father daughter combo talking to Narcissa?” he asked as they stepped outside, the cool air a fresh feeling as they left the threshold of Prom, “I hope he’s not on our team, a kid would complicate things a lot.” he added. He didn’t not like kids, he was just wary about them. They were much more fragile than others, and he was cautious about what and how to say things to them.

He looked around, and brought his attention back to his beautiful date, “So what can you tell me about yourself?” he asked her, a genuine sense of curiosity bubbled in his mind. He wanted to know how this girl came to be here, on his arm out in the night.

My hearts longs for the ability to just get to prom!

❃❂❁❀✿✾✽✼✻✺✹✸✷ ✶✵✴❄❅❆❇❈❉❊❋❖❤❥❦❧ ☀

She tilted her head slightly at his question. A techno-geek? What was wrong with him being a techno-geek? Weren’t those people really good with technology and really smart? That should be something to admire! Faintly, she even thought it might be a slight honor considering didn’t usually extremely intelligent people not hang out with others that weren’t extremely intelligent themselves? At least, she was assuming all geeks were likely really intelligent. Though, weren’t they also kind of awkward? She had heard that once anyway, and the “geeks” on TV seemed to be that way. But, maybe those were just exceptions to the rule. After all, Raph didn’t seem to be stuttering up a storm, or looking incredibly uncomfortable. Then again, maybe that was because Alex hadn’t said anything odd yet…”I am sure I do not mind. If anything, I would be worried about if you wanted a really sheltered sickly girl around.”

Oh dear! She didn’t mean to make herself sound like she was sick right now, or was sickly all the time! Dang her phrasing! “I mean just…sheltered…Sickly is a bit of an exaggeration…Heh…” After all, her immune system was just weaker, not flat out useless! Besides, other than the radiation sickness she got from the Mall, Alex had been doing quite well on staying not sick. Though, knowing her luck, the sensory adaptor would find herself waking up tomorrow morning with a cold. But, at least she had everything she would need just in case. If she didn’t, Alex just hoped the infirmary would be willing to give her whatever she lacked. If anything though, waking up tomorrow morning well would be a heck of a lot better. “Just forget I said that…” Why did she say such things?

Nodding a little since Raph’s reasoning was plausible. The girl(Vee) could have just had something important going or remembered something she had to do. Then again…oh no! She was not ruining her evening because of some guilt she had placed on herself! After all, Alex had a partner now, and she didn’t want to chase her prom partner off due to her issues of placing guilt onto herself. Admittedly, she really needed to stop doing that…”You are likely right. I just need to push it off my mind is all!” Besides, Alex hp[ed that the girl(Vee) would have said something if she had actually been offended! Though, the likely misplaced guilt would likely linger for some time, or at least…until Alex found herself focusing on something else. Her rambling out her introduction definitely fit that something else in her mind.

As she did that, her blue-green hues took notice of the fact Raph seemed to be starting to smile. By the end of it, Alex noticed a tiny grin of his face. The sensory adaptor wasn’t sure whether to feel at ease by that, or not. But, for the sake of not wanting to make herself feel even more nervous, she went for the former. Smiling just a little as it seemed she had been right in doing just that. Realizing now that Raph didn’t seem turned off by her rambling. However, Alex hadn’t expected for him to call what she had done socially forward. Blinking a little and finding herself letting out a small giggle. “I do not I have ever had my rambling called socially forward…But…I thank you for viewing it that way.” Finding her nervousness gone away as she remembered something Raph had said earlier.

Not realizing having brought up the fact he was an Alpha might have been a bad idea. Though, at least she hadn’t misheard him. Unable to stop herself from finding this ironic in a good kind of way. Not only had she found a prom partner, but she had also found a new teammate as well! While Alex wasn’t very experienced with the team yet, she could at least introduce him to Bella! Maybe some of the others too, like Eli and Dimtri! But, that would depend on if they were at prom of course. Nodding a little at him when he made an observation on how he might be like in the field. “My ability does not really allow me to be a…power player so to speak. Though, I do not think there is anything wrong with not being a power player….Just…makes you feel a bit useless at times.”

Maybe she shouldn’t have said that, but she was being honest! Considering how useful could enhancing one’s senses be when attacking someone in the middle of a fight? Then again, actually having to fight wasn’t too appealing to her. Thus, maybe that actually worked out in the sensory adaptor’s favor as she expressed her want to go to prom. She didn’t even know how much time had passed since prom had begun! But, as long as she was able to make it there, she would be alright! Soon leaving the Music Room and waiting for Raph outside. Not having realized Raph might have thought she was abandoning him as he approached her. Her lips curling up into a friendly little smile while feeling his arm hooking around hers. The movement actually reminding her of when she used to do that to the servants at home.

Usually when that had happened though, it was because she got a really amazing idea and wanted to share it with someone! However, Alex knew most of the people around here likely wouldn’t want to hear her sometimes very out there ideas. Besides, it kept her from looking too silly in front of others. Though, the sensory adaptor would love to at least act in front of someone here. Just once. That way, Alex would be able to keep up with her skills as they moved towards the garage. Hoping that the shuttle would still be there, or would have at least gotten back to pick up any strays. Soon arriving at the door to the garage. Blinking a little when Raph said something she did not quite understand.

The language reminded her of Italian or Spanish. They did sometimes sound a bit similar. Just like how French sometimes sounded similar to Italian and Spanish. Though, she sometimes felt Italian and Spanish had more similarities than French, even if all three were considered Romantic languages. Raph soon translating as she smiled a little and curtsied slightly. “Merci.” Letting her French accent show a bit more as she giggled and went through the door. Wondering if Raph would know that little French Word.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well…she knew her luck was bad at times. But, since when did it apply to getting to some place? Everything seemed to be going well until suddenly, the shuttle for prom just stopped working! Leaving them about halfway away from the Academy, which would mean halfway from the University! While she guessed they could walk there, Alex didn’t want to leave Raph behind. For some reason though, he seemed to be freaking out! At least, if the pacing in front of her while she sat against the broken down van was any proof! Though, the sensory adaptor couldn’t wrap her head around why he was doing that! There was nothing to be freaking out about! So what, the shuttle broken down! They would hopefully fix it soon enough…right? Besides, while it was kind of funny seeing him walking into the ground(not literally of course), she did wish to help him calm down!
“Raph…..why are you looking to be freaking out? Everything will be alright I am sure!” Patting her hand beside the empty space next to her while smiling at him. “So why not sit until they fix the shuttle? You would not want to tire yourself out in case you wanted to dance at prom.” She wasn’t sure he wanted to do that. But, if he did, him pacing about was not going to help him much! “Besides…there is nothing we can do about it that I know of….So, rest up for when we get to prom. You would not want to ruin your night over something like this, would you?” Feeling bad that her words didn’t seem to be doing the trick. But, she was going to help him! He had been kind to her so far, and seeing him like this was only making her worry!
“Do not make me have to wrap my arms around you and make you sit!” Her cheeks soon heating up as she realized that might have not been the best thing to say…”I mean…uh….just please sit! I do not want to see you walking into the ground and disappear!” Now bringing her knees closer to her, glad for the length of her dress as she buried her face against her knees. Now too highly embarrassed to say anymore to Raph. Just hoping he would not make fun of her for her silly comment!
Alpha - Frontier University - Returning to the Date
User Image
Tara was glad that someone in the group didn't think that she was some sort of man-eater, grinning at Lillian's description of her version of "twisting" a man's arm to be her date to this kind of soiree. The power mimic called out the boys for how they were portraying her, the earth mover casting her a grin with a small shrug. Leo expressed his thanks to Lillian for dragging Aurelie out with them for the evening, the power mimic joking about how she would hold him true to his promise for a future favor. She mentioned something about a test subject, causing the brunette to laugh as she took a drink of punch, a few funny mental images popping into her head involving Copycat as a mad scientist, complete with costume.
The girls decided that they were going to go out and dance together, Aurelie and Thomas electing to stay behind, despite Tara's best efforts to the contrary. Laughing as the Power mimic planted a firm kiss on the telekinetic's cheek, then moved off to collect Kerrigan for their dancing circle. The redhead grabbed one of her own kind on their way out to the dance floor, Tara lingering behind in one last effort to get a blonde in their mix. Unable to do so, she left them to their own devices, moving out to the dance floor and twisting herself around with the rest of the girls and grinning when Lillian expressed how glad she was that she could join them.
"I wouldn't miss this for the world! But maybe we'll get her out here yet - or maybe Leo'll bring her out for a little trot around the dance floor," she responded with a sly smile. As the group continued to dance, a blonde girl accidentally knocked into Kerri, introducing herself as Peyton. The rest of the girls responded in kind, and Tara didn't disappoint, making sure that her name was heard loud and clear over the sound of the music as it pumped over the dance floor.
Eventually, the song ended, Kerrigan and Daylia disengaging from the girl circle to return to their respective dates. It would be best if she did the same - after all, she'd been giving Leo a hard time the majority of the evening, especially since Aurlie arrived.
"Alright ladies, you two behave yourselves. I should get back to Leo and be a good date for the rest of the evening. I feel like I've been a little rough on him," she said with a smile and a genuine wave towards Peyton. It was always nice to meet a new face, and she seemed like a good egg, at least for around here. Moving off the dance floor, she approached Leo, doing a twirl in front of him and laughing as she dropped her hands down to her hips, cocking them to the side slightly.
"I've been a bad date tonight, haven't I? Leaving you for a group of hot women, giving you trouble over our friend Aurelie. Forgive me?"
(( Not the best post by any means. Sorry! ))
Felix was quickly finding a friend in Aren and listening to his banter back towards him was proving highly amusing. They seemed to be alike enough to get along well, and for that Felix was thankful of. Having at least one friend on his team would make having the others as enemies that much easier. His disposition made friend making hard at times, and since he wasn't planning on being extra nice to anybody on his team, he could use a friend to joke around with. "Once they get a taste for me, you won't even be a lingering thought. If by some chance a lady does choose to come back to you, I think I will be just fine. After all she is likely to not have all her marbles. As for rushing things, let's just say that is nothing to worry about. I have stamina. Even as a speedster, rushing things does not extend to the horizontal hustle."
Grinning to Aren's comment as the native asked for his opinion on both ladies, Felix nodded faintly. "I could," Felix replied not at all minding agreeing with the man. Raine looked stunning of course and the speedster would never deny her that. He wasn't the one that had started the little spat that they were apparently in now. He was content to simply have a good time and joke around, Raine was the one that seemed intent on giving him the cold shoulder. They would definitely need to talk after prom was over to clear the air. At the very least Felix wanted to know why she was so upset with him.
Letting the topic turn back to their joking Felix only grinned as Aren seemed unconvinced he was anything but white. Letting Aren finish completely the man drew a chuckle from the speedster. "Pun intended I take it? Trust me Redman I am very up to speed on the tricks of the trade. As for white men stealing from the savages, you shouldn't have taught us how to live. Just think, if the natives had just let the white men starve, no stealing would have been done. It's really your fault for being so nice. I would have let the bastards starve." Felix was joking mainly, but he managed to deliver the last line in a deadpan tone his face keeping the look for a few moments before his lips curled into a smile to show his jest.
As Cissa joked about having a camera phone at ready, Felix shared his astonishment. The blond was then quick to lean into him softly with a wink and deliver another bout of humor. Giving her a questioning look he answered her after. "Because hazing is hilarious?" With her mentioning of the alcohol potentially being the cause of her wanting to record them making an a** of themselves, Felix grinned softly putting on an air of amusement. "I wasn't aware we had to be drunk to do that. I am sure the video of the fallout from me kissing you would have been hilarious. If you ever want to record that for later, just let me know. I can deliver a surprise kiss whenever it is needed. That could be the alcohol talking though I suppose." Leaving the last statement to be deciphered his lack of anything resembling a buzz from the alcohol meant it wasn't from drinking.
Aren was quick to mention that Raine most certainly did not want to be taken advantage of and Felix shrugged in response. "If you say so." Felix glanced at Raine briefly and took note of how quiet she was being for the moment. With an inner sigh he decided to let whatever spat they were in drop for now and talk about it with her later. Part of him wished he could use the whole 'I was drunk' excuse. Turning back to Cissa as they bantered about how safe her virtue was with him, he raised an eyebrow as she planted a kiss on his cheek. It seemed to be her way of forgiving him so he thought nothing about it. "The night is still young. Plenty of time for me to turn on the charm if I get the inclination to do so."
Cissa seemed to share his thoughts on forgetting the night. Smirking over at her Felix let his attention turn to the newly arrived Alpha that made a fool of himself. Raine was quick to rush to the Alpha's side and offer him a drink. Cissa remarked on his previous comment about humans and Felix grinned and nodded. "Noted Kitten." A playful gaze was given to the blond that he was sure conveyed he was joking. Listening to the newly arrived Alpha speak, Felix completely ignored his words since nothing was directed at him. Attention turned to another new arrival and his gaze immediately fell on the little girl. Was the guy moronic bringing a little kid to prom? Especially when at any moment the prom could be attacked because of the recent registration thing. Prom wasn't safe. Hell the academy was hardly safe from what he had heard.
Unamused gaze falling on the approaching man Felix held his tongue as the man introduced both himself and his daughter. Cissa responded in kind to the little girl and Felix was not particularly surprised. Even people who hated kids were not usually openly unkind to them. Felix surely wasn't planning on being unkind to the girl. He might call the man a fool to his face, but the girl deserved none of it. Again since he wasn't addressed Felix said nothing. Instead the speedster turned to Aren and gave the native a look that voiced his thoughts well. This guy was nuts bringing a little girl.
OMEGA:Never felt so out of place and unwanted.
User Image
This night was just great. First his encounter with Kat that nearly caused him to lose it completely. And now the one person he thought he could always turn to when he needed them wants nothing to do with him. What's worse she is literally shoving her new guy in his face.
He didn't need to respond to her comment about not shirking her duties on Blake cause Scott wouldn't like it. They both knew full well Bella could probably leave someone near death and Scott wouldn't give two shits. Though the headmaster was probably dacing for joy somewhere since it was probably clear to all that Bella was no longer with him. So there will probably be a nice little message for him when he returns telling him to leave the school.
There she goes again moving even closer to Blake. And as a result further from himself. If she wanted nothing to do with him she should just say the words straight out. If he meant anything to her ever she owed him that much. Though with how things have been he really isn't sure what to think.
He and Blake shook hands neither being mancho about it. Which was good Gideon wasn't up for dealing with this guy trying to act big infront of him. Something about being Logan's clone made people instantly want to prove their manhood so to speak. Like being tough infront of him was some kind of right of passage. And if they didn't do that people tended to stay far far away from him. Blake on the other hand looked as if he couldn't of been bothered to remember who he was. No skin of Gid's back.
So your not going to shirk your duties on him cause your not feeling well. Instead your just going to forgo them and get plastered. Nice hope the alpha's don't need their leader tonight. He thought to himself, part of him wanted to say it out loud but he didn't want to make a scene. And all the while Gideon was holding onto his mask of all is well. He refused to let his hurt show. And here Blake was encouraging it. It didn't matter that he knew she was only doing it cause he made mention that she shouldn't drink.
That was a knife to the heart. The look she just gave Blake even if only an apologetic one showed more caring from her then she had shown him in well over a month. And she was supposed to be his girlfriend.
Not long ago the two couldn't of gone a day without being near one another. Now all he could feel is that Bella couldn't be far enough from him. They wouldn't talk here. Then where, when. It's already been over a month. She couldn't be bothered to even having it just between them using her powers. She was making it seem like it wasn't something they would do all the time. But now that country boy nope. Gideon was looking for any signs that there was any hope he hadn't lost the only person left at the academy who he felt had his back. Logan only did out of some obligation he felt since Gid shared his DNA. And even then that was it there was no real caring there.
"So when then?" He said under his breath barely allowing any movements in his lips so she would again be the only one to hear.
It was clear Blake was going to say something that or had a minor muscle spasm in his mouth causing his jaw to tighten. Maybe it was true they were together. The guy was looking like he was making a move on his girl. Gideon returned full attention to Bella while still holding his completely passive mask. He would be damned if he gave this guy the pleasure of seeing he was hurting.
"Not that you gave me the chance. It wasn't like I was sending him away like his duties were done. I wanted to spend time with my girlfriend who I haven't been able to much lately. I also had something to tell the leader of the Alpha's only." He said plainly and just as kindly as she had. But it was beyond clear even a blind man on the otherside of the world could see just how little she wanted him around.
And that point just got hammered home with what she said next. She was telling him to get lost even if not in those words. So it was official they were done but she would still talk to him about it. Bella owed him that much. He ignored Blake all together at this point he had to. Gideon was to close to just jaming his claws through the mans gut and ripping it up his chest leaving him beyond even Elixir's abilitiy to heal. Kat's little display earlier was really getting back to him.
"Your my only dance partner." He said in a calm voice. But since Bella knew him so well he knew she would see the hurt in his eyes. His expression was different when he looked at Blake. His message was easily read in his expression that if something happened to her Blake would have it taken out of his hide. So he turned to leave where his presence was clearly unwelcome by Bella. The only person who matters to him. No matter the pain he felt he still cared for her. But Gideon knew he couldn't handle seeing them together.
This time he said it under his breath so again only Bella would hear. "It's clear there isn't a reason to stay since the only person I care about has tossed me away. Glad to know all I was to you was a warm body till the cowboy came back. Now I know why you dodged me for the last month. You can get your things from my room. Don't worry I won't be there. And why not have Jean or Emma give you the Eternal Sunshine treatment just to make it complete." Gid never turned around he just made his way easily through the crowd to the door as he said all of that.
