Name: Jacen Reilly [Kraken]
Team: Omega
Location: Rally
Thoughts: I am NOT Inky!

The rain wasn’t bothering Kraken in the slightest. It made him feel at home, in his element. No pun intended. Jacen looked over to the mutant chucking Molotovs his way, only to see a familiar purple streak break the bottle over the morlocke’s head, sending it flaming and flailing away. He managed to catch sight of Psyche bounding off after Knoxx, and grinned despite himself and the sorroundings.

A quick survey of his other comrades showed them to be handling themselves quite well. Orchid wasn’t even breaking a sweat while fighting with that hair of her’s, and of course Narcissa was holding her own. And Paladin was being Paladin. He couldn't understand that man's bloodlust. Well, no, he could, he'd just have to have an angsty little pity party if his inner animal got out of control.

None of these thoughts lasted longer than a few seconds as Jacen’s next challenger stepped into the ring. “Wow you are tall.” He said, having to look up at his foe despite the distance between them. It was a pale faced mutant, tall as mentioned before and graced with rather large beer-belly for someone living in the sewers. The curly-haired Omega took first attack, jumping towards the Morlock and pulling back his fist for a punch. He was met mid-air with a palm to his chest that sent him careening back the way he came, and then some, crashing into the brick wall behind them. The wall cracked around where he landed, creating a nice-Jacen sized crater as the student dropped down from it onto all fours.

Kraken looked up at the Giant, eye briefly twitching in pain, re-evaluating his opponent. He had Faster reflexes than it looked like, was stronger than a elephant at least, but Kraken was definitely smarter, judging by the drool dripping down the Giant’s chin as it’s mouth hung open.

He jumped again, this time staying low the ground as he moved around the mutant, managing to stay out of the mutants range of motion. Ah what a cruel twist of the gene; the giant couldn’t bend over.

Jacen threw a kick at the base of it’s spine before it turned about, making to grab him. The Omega moved once more, diving through the being’s legs and jumping up onto it’s back. Jacen latched on as he wrapped his arms around the giant’s neck, applying just enough pressure in just the right spots to eventually knock the behemoth out. The Morlock slumped against the wall it’d been ramming it’s back into in an attempt to rid itself of Jacen, who flipped off the unconscious body and puffed out a ‘phew’.

Narcissa’s command to press-forward rang out as Cissa and Co. bee-lined for the reality-warper. He watched as she tested the waters of the Sorceress’ powers, equally disheartened as she by the outcome. Following orders, he moved to the side of the target, only at this moment wondering what he could possibly do. It’s not like she’d let him get close enough to kick her in the face.

No, that kind of thought didn’t belong in Jacen’s head. Dwell on what you can do to help. Gotta stay positive. The Jacen Reilly way.

Her voice was unexpected, and the... request caught him off-guard. The instant blood shed of the officers even more so. He’d moved away from them by circling the Sorceress, If he’d stayed where he was he could have-

No. Positive. Sickeningly. Unwarranted. Positivity.

And then he got a new occupation for his mind. He skipped forward as the Metal Jaws snapped at him, hopping back like a man evading a snake. He drew a ridiculous comparison to an ‘old-school’ game he’d been shown since arriving at the academy, in which a giant set of jaws tried to eat a bunch of ghosts after hitting an special orb. He wasn’t in a full out run from it yet, since he didn’t want to turn his back on it. Better to keep facing it and dodge to the left or right when it lunged.

From the glance he chanced to give in Paladin and Covet’s Direction, they too had a foe to face.

Tea and Crumpets didn’t seem like such a bad thought, but surrender was a different story.

Alpha - Inside the Mall - Evacuation

User Image

Tara followed along behind Leo as they made their way out of the Mall, cradling Bella in his arms. She was a bit shocked that there wasn't more resistance to them getting out, but then again there was a bomb threat. The group made their way over to Gambit who appeared to be more concerned about not being trampled by the masses running like mad men and women in an attempt to get away from the building. Thankfully, he accepted their wounded leader with little more than a confused look, Leo explaining what happened as Tara turned her attention to the running people. For some reason she couldn't escape the feeling that they were going to be involved in some sort of fight soon -- they'd made it out of the mall far too easily. Is this what being on one of the more active teams did to you? Made you paranoid when nothing went wrong?

Before she really knew what was happening, he motioned for them to head back to the mall, the brunette giving a nod before taking off after Leo. He seemed to falter at something, though Tara said nothing. As quickly as she caught the change in is demeanor, it was gone once more; replaced with the focused look of one who already had combat experience and knew what he needed to do. The rest of their teammates were gaining the upper hand against the Brotherhood. Of course, it was then that the attack she'd been anticipating happened. A set of twins attacked them, Leo engaging one (Aoi) while Tara turned her sights on the other (Miyu). She eyed the blades that protruded from where their hands should be, their insectoid appearance quite off-putting. Never-the-less, her stance widened slightly, her connection to the concrete below her feet flowing through her as she began to levitate several chunks of debris from around her.

Miya released a high-pitched scream as she neared the smaller group, Landslide making her dodge several chunks of flying debris as they swarmed in her direction. The girl was nimble, that was for sure, Tara abandoning large chunks of debris for smaller as she backpedaled away from the approaching mutant. Her body started to tense for impact when she finally caught a break. Two medium sized rocks swung around her, contacting with the flying twin to knock her to the side, Tara swiftly bringing another, larger chunk of debris up from the ground to swoop underneath the girl, swiftly lifting her up into the ceiling. Both concrete and twin fell back to the ground with a crash, leaving the earth-manipulator standing there, realizing she was holding her breath. Releasing the breath from her lungs, she turned to see the other twin, just in time to see him take the girl down for the count.

"Nice moves, Renaissance Man," she called out to him, her grin switching to a look of concern as she saw him stumble backwards, immediately moving towards him. One hand went to his back, offering to steady him, when a voice of one of their own came over the comms, calling for them to completely evacuate the area despite their apparent success in taking care of the bomb.

That didn't sound good.

"Let's get you out of here," she said simply to her weakened teammate, glancing back towards the others in her group. They seemed distracted, but she noticed the stirring form of Miyu as she started to get up from where she'd dropped. Tara growled in frustration - there wasn't any time for this. The tiny Asian girl glared towards her, brandishing her blade hands towards the pair as she started to move towards them. Her eyes narrowed as she took a step away from Leo, spreading her arms out to the side as the concrete underneath the floor began to crack and surge forward, forming a wave of sorts towards the girl. It would be enough to distract her, if not take her out, while she and Renaissance Man made their way out with the rest of the group. Turning towards her teammate, the Brunette lead him a few steps away from the fountain, supporting him as much as he needed her to.

"Just hold on - I'll get you out of here," she said simply, giving him a look as if asking him to trust her. Breaking a slab of floor away from the ground underneath him, it hovered next to her, just above the ground. She began to guide it towards the doors, motioning for the rest of the group (and anyone they met along the way) to remove themselves from the building as they had been instructed. Whatever was going on, she was sure she didn't want to be here when it all went down.

(( Apologies for Autoing people. If you'd like me to change it, please let me know. I didn't know how else to move anything along without moving people a little bit. ><'' ))

And now all hell has broken loose in the mind of a madman

Roland was brought to a halt by Solaris's cool touch. It was a bit alarming, a woman that radiated high heat having such a frigid hand. She gave him, and the others a warning about the Scarlet Witch and just how dangerous she was. Roland could only imagine just what she was truly capable of if they let her unleash her powers in full force upon them. He held no desire to see what her wrath could bring about for them. He hope to take this fight quickly, and efficiently. If they could do that, they would be one step closer to ending this battle, and one more battle further into the war.

He understood Magneto's reasoning. Mutants were persecuted on a daily basis. Roland had the background to prove it, hell his own stepfather hardly gave a damn if he was dead just how much he could make off of him. However there was one thing between himself and Magneto that separated them: their means to reach this end.

Magneto fought to subjugate humanity with mutants on top. He fought to end the fighting altogether.

Kraken seemed handle his opponent well enough, hearing a simple 'ew' as something slid down a sewer drain. He watched as Solaris took the initiative to launch a ball of solar energy near their primary objective. Watching the ball hit an invisible wall was a bit unsettling. This wasn't going to be an easy one to put it bluntly.

The Scarlet Witch spoke out to them, calling for them to surrender, but not without letting loose of a display of power upon some of the police officers. They fell to the ground, some with holes in their heads. This unleashed a fury within Roland, his heart began to beat in his heart like a drum, he could feel the blood pulsing in his face, his eyes began to burn as he knew the glow of rage appear within those bright little orbs in his head. She waved a hand at him and Covet, willing a couple of gutters towards them. He began running towards the Witch, as the gutter attempted to wrap itself around his arm. The rage went about flowing into him, as he started to continue forward.

He let out a roar of fury, as he slashed down on the gutter. The blade slashed through the metal quickly, his arm coming free from it's grasp. In his rage he let out his reply to her request, "I don't want to join you! I WANT YOUR HEAD! You and all the other Brothers!" He burst forth, rushing at her with a blast of fury and hate, pure and undiluted in all it’s nightmarish glory. “Those were innocent men! Fathers! Husbands! Sons! Brothers! I’ll kill you and every last one of you!”

The words screamed out in the rain, his eyes burned through the heavy rain as it made its way towards blood.

Just how many Morlocks were here? Seriously he knew Magneto was charismatic, and insane, but this was ridiculous. There was no way to justify the kind of chaos that was occurring here.

Copycat and Knoxx
chimed in through the Comms, looks like the plan is for Copycat to throw something heavy and the rest gang up on Avalanche. Good enough, but unless that heavy object knocks him down they might have trouble approaching him. Leion wasn't confident in his ability to shoot at someone and make the blast solid instead of cutting through them like butter, especially since his main shooting practice so far had involved Demons and holograms, both of which would be just fine to kill. For a moment he entertained the idea of blinding Avalanche, but then he would probably just send heavy earthquakes out in all directions and that wouldn't be good.

He could do a burst of energy at him and knock him back a little ways, but that was risky too because he might screw up the others, ugh he was way over thinking this. He would just wait for the signal and burst a kick right at Avalanche's torso. Wait had they said there would be a signal?

"Well just say when!" Leion called into the comm
as he kicked a two headed Morlock in the gonads to keep him from being shanked. These mutants who only had physical deformities were really very unlucky.

Felix waited patiently for Narcissa to get back to him as he stared down the morlock he had taken care of. The mutant started to stir like it was going to get up and he delivered a kick directly to the morlock's jaw which stopped the movement. It was long and the blond's voice sounded over his comm welcoming him to the team. As she mentioned the team being split and to pick on and assist while not doing anything stupid Felix look in the direction of the team Knoxx was leading. While he couldn't see that far the rumbling was clearly heard. The buildings shook in that direction and it almost sounded as if there were mini earthquakes going off constantly. If there was someone who could do that then using his mutation in that area would be hard. On the other hand there was the red clad woman who was taking on the police force with surprising ease. The entire scene was awe inspiring. He actually to take a moment to watch the scene before him. Such power.

Still he could at least use his mutation around her. "Your side seems to be having the most fun Solaris so I'll do what I can to help. Without doing something foolish of course." Walking towards Scarlet Witch he was still a long ways away and found that he wanted it to stay that way. Somehow he didn't think she would let him get anywhere near her. From his point of entry there didn't seem to be many mutants running around. Most of them seemed focused on taking down the other Omegas. His late arrival meant he wasn't immediately picked off as a target. Surveying the scene to pick out the immediate threats he found that they were mainly being handled. Not that they were anything special of course. These mutants with the exception of Scarlet Witch were simply distractions and lesser mutants. The biggest threat he could see for the moment was Scarlet Witch. While personally Felix didn't give a damn about humans while he was in the field he was unfortunately required to try and save them when possible.

A bright light caught his attention and Felix turned towards it and watched as it eventually hit Scarlet Witch's shield. Then the light simply faded away. "Can't make things easy can you?" Sighing Felix knew for sure that it would completely useless to try and get right up on her and try to attack her physically. At least with that shield it was pointless. Felix was close enough that he heard Scarlet Witch as she spoke. So Magneto was attempting to do some recruitment? A red beam of light shot towards the woman and again the energy simply disappeared. Then suddenly without warning the sounds of guns going off rang through the air followed by a laugh and then the bullets returned to the officers. Eyes wide Felix stared in silence. Then he heard Scarlet Witch talking again about making things easy on themselves. Felix almost asked Narcissa why they didn't fake a surrender to give the humans time to evacuate. It sounded like a decent plan to his ears but he didn't voice it. What was to stop Magneto from killing them if they refused what he offered when he spoke to them?

She called one last time for surrender and shortly afterward he heard one of his new teammates responding. "I thought we weren't supposed to do anything stupid? She is going to eat him alive." Charging the woman certainly constituted as doing something stupid in his eyes. Did the man expect to actually do anything to her? She was just going to brush him aside like she did the bullets. He was likely akin to a fly to her at the moment. Felix would have considered trying to run up and stop the man from getting killed but he had to question the man's ability to distinguish between friend and foe at the moment. Felix wasn't willing to find out the hard way. With a sigh he decided to help the remaining officers get out of the line of fire. Grabbing an injured officer with some difficulty he moved it to a safe location. Then something moving fast caught his eye. Watching as Quicksilver approached carrying a hostage Felix turned his comm on. "There is another mutant approaching with a hostage. He seems to be running quite fast. I'll see if I can head him off."

Running as fast as he could and making sure their paths would meet Felix dropped into a baseball slide at the last second. His feet and legs caught Quicksilver's and caused the man to stumble forward the woman he was carrying flew into the air as Quicksilver tried to maintain his balance. Getting to his feet Felix ran to intercept the woman before she hit the ground. The white haired speedster had recovered by this time and turned to Felix as he dusted himself off. Felix ran the opposite direction the second the woman was in his arms and dropped her outside of the war zone in an alley. Turning back around and leaving the alley he spotted Quicksilver running towards him and sighed. It really was too much to think the man might forget that he had almost took a dive face first into the concrete. Dodging to the left Felix headed back for the war zone the faster man behind him and gaining fast. Stopping and turning around Felix found the other speedster's fist in his chest. Staggering back from the force of the blow he dedicated the next several seconds focusing on blocking the attacks thrown his way.

Multiple hits were landed in the span of ten seconds but many more were blocked as he decided to actually fight back. Grabbing the arm of his opponent Felix yanked back and sidestepped the man using his foot to throw the other off balance and then headed directly for a fallen officer. Picking up his gun and baton Felix turned back around and aimed at Quicksilver firing off a bullet. Predictably it missed as did the rest of the clip that was fired after him though some got rather close. Throwing the gun at the silver speedster Felix picked up another baton off of another officer nearby. Holding them defensively Felix waited to see what Quicksilver planned to do next.

Finally Getting Out… Good.

User Image
Leonardo wasn’t exactly aware of the world around him at the moment; his senses were dampened and his attention elsewhere. As much as he tried to focus on the task at hand, he just couldn’t. He used too much energy during the fight; relied too much on his adrenaline to block out pain… and now he was paying for it. His bruised ribs hurt with much intensity, but the cut on his chest was what was bothering him the most, obviously. Dark red fluid was growing in a feathered out horizontal pattern on his stolen white shirt… and to think, if that bug had gone an inch or two deeper… he wouldn’t be just bleeding. He’d be dead.

When he saw the Asian (Hoshi) come up to him, the animal mimic had the brief, distinct instinct to bat her away… for a moment, he thought that she was one of the bugs… but as his vision came into focus, he discovered that she wasn’t. She must have been an Alpha… or perhaps just a mutant bystander willing to help. There was a funky way in her wording though… the way that she asked if he ‘needed her anywhere else’, as if she were addressing a superior. So perhaps she was an Alpha… one that was extremely late to the party.

As he was getting ready to address the young girl and tell her what to do, Opaque’s transmission came over the comm… crap. It was rather confusing though… the bomb was taken care of… yet something else was wrong? Like what? Bomb was gone, and they could get out of there… It also appeared that Allegra was down. Leonardo cursed to himself. ‘Down’ could mean a lot of things; weakened, passed out, or even… he didn’t want to think about that at the moment. He couldn’t help but feel a pang of pain and guilt stab at his chest. Leo wouldn’t want to have anyone killed on the team… more so because Leo had been the spark that started this fire.

Tara came over just then, offering her assistance to help him get out of there, to which he greatly accepted. It was hard to move after all of the energy that he exerted; one could akin the feeling to sitting down after a long work-out; the limbs were stiff and heavy, as if they were made of stone. It was simply just so much that he had gone through in the past few hours was catching up to him… and he was finally just out of it.

But then again, someone might still be relying on him to give them an order or something, so Leo unsteadily raised his comm to his lips, saying, “Alright, you guys heard Opaque. Let’s move it. Carry who you can, punch what faces you need to, and let’s high-tail it as if the building still is about to explode.”

Letting his arm hang limp down at his side again, Leonardo touched his shirt, along with his chest, and hissed as the pain shot through his torso. Pulling his fingers back, he saw the blood on his fingers; his own blood. Before, it had just been Bella’s that was on his shirt and arms… now his own was steadily seeping into the fibers and hems of his shirt.

So much for a nice night at the mall.

He looked over to Tara, remembering the Halloween Town incident and how he had to guide her when she was blinded from not having eyes. Now it appears that the roles were switched. “Returning the favor, huh?” he laughed, coughing at the same time. Leo had been through worse before; he’d even lost limbs. Now he just hoped that this could all be over; they could all go back to the mansion, start a fire in the fireplace, and laugh all of this off. But it wouldn’t happen but so soon… it seemed that Leo would never find the peace that he was looking for when he left his other life and came to the Academy. This was just as hectic… and in some aspects, weirder.

ALPHA:At the mall riot : Oh look they are running away..

User ImageThe mutant known as Brick otherwise referred by Gideon as Freckles, or in his head a ginger hulk shook his head indicating no. Seems they hadn't told him about the last one. That made Gideon smirk. "Oh well probably for the best. Or you would or run when you saw me." With that Gideon charged the larger mutant. Brick went to step forward to charge Gideon as well, only his injured leg stopped him in his tracks. Seeing an opening Veritas went low driving his shoulder into the injured leg of Brick. Thanks to Brick's weight being shifted forward the task of taking the big man to the ground was all the easier. The Hydra agent had proved useful at the moment.

Quickly rebounding Gideon altered direction and jumped on the mutants back. The Hydra agent was dealing with the were wolf like mutant. "How are you handling things there kitty Kat?" Gideon asked the Hydra agent. As much as he didn't like having to trust the Agent in this situation with the chaos of it there was no choice. He would get his answers from the Hydra agent when this was over.

He didn't have time to stay in his thoughts or take time to visually or auditorily check up on others. Brick stood up with ease as if Gideon was nothing to him. Driving his elbow into the back of Brick's head at the base of his skull.

Roaring with pain and anger the ginger hulk reached back and grabbed one of Gideon's arms. "I am going to crush you like the bug you are!" The large mutant yelled. Slamming Gideon to the ground in front of him.

Grunting with pain as his body met with the ground probably putting a few cracks in it under him. As Brick started to pull his hand away Gideon grabbed a hold of his arm. Brick's reaction was just as he expected he instantly pulled his arm back dragging Gideon along with it. Anyone could tell Freckles train of thought, the larger mutant was simply planing to smash Gideon into the ground again. On the other hand Gideon used this expected reaction to leave a nasty slash across Brick's chest.

Swinging his arm forward with amazing force threw Gideon off his arm and into the fountain smashing a hole in it's basin allowing water to flow out and spill all over the mall floor. Coughing a bit Gideon got to his feet to see Brick turning and running toward the Magma mutant. Next thing he knew those two were running into the store they entered from. Their escape vehicle was probably that way.

Gideon whistled loudly to attempt to get the werewolf's attention though just to make sure he also chucked a fist size piece of the broken fountain at him. "Hey wolfie looks like your buddies are fleeing without you!" Gideon said, pointing to the retreating forms of Brick and the Magma mutant. "Things don't look good for you if you stay." The claws on Gideon's left hand were still dripping with blood from Brick's chest. Sure as long as the ginger got it treated the wound was not fatal just a reminder that Gideon could of dropped him right away if chosen.

Gideon heard the bomb go off though the sound was muffled but there was another sound similar to that of breaking glass. Given that there wasn't massive damage he assumed the plan to contain it worked. "Everyone on bomb detail okay?" Gideon asked through his comm. He had been around long enough to know that even if a plan worked doesn't mean it was without injury.

He heard others voices come through the comm. One was Opaque saying that the bomb was dealt with but something else was wrong so they had to get out of there. Seconds after that Leo's voice came through his comm. His message was just one of confirmation of Opaque's adding in the place was still about to blow. "If anyone with you is down and you don't think you can get them out let me know." Gideon said to everyone knowing he was fast and strong enough to get to someone if they needed. So he took time to scan the area as he was confused that a certain someone he caught the scent of earlier hadn't reared their ugly head. That wasn't a good thing he could be waiting in the wings to attack someone as they left. Or he came through just to but Gideon and Logan on edge as it was a scent they knew well. Gideon was surprised he didn't get attacked by him just as a way for the them to get to Logan. But he knew Sabertooth knew not to take the younger mutant lightly.

Omega - Mall - Dying hurts like Hell.

The pain that was shooting through his body was easy enough to ignore; whatever cuts were on his back were superficial to a point. He honestly felt fatigued though from expending what little energy he had brought with him to this particular dance. But Christian knew that despite all of that, he could not give up. Not when the ‘bomb squad’ had moved on out and cleared up that particular situation, clearing up a bit of space for him to work. Especially not when the injured Siren had been removed from the scene as well. There was room for him to fight, to act without thinking if need be. And that luxury was a definite necessity.
With no one in the immediate vicinity, Christian was able to focus solely on the buglady (Miu). He could tell by the crazed look in her compound eyes that she was pissed and rightfully so; Christian did hit her with a concussive blast of energy guaranteed to make her limp around for a while. She hovered close to the ground, obviously wary about putting weight on her leg, and opened her mandibles in a display of ferocity. If Christian didn’t know better, he could have sworn Miu was trying to vocalize her displeasure with the junior X-Man. The combination of insect chatter and human noise did well enough to make his skin crawl, something he was careful not to show his opponent at all. But, he’d lost his footing when he felt the ground beneath him rumble slightly and a medium sized rock hit him upside his cranium.

What fog was there in his head was beginning to clear up, at least he thought it was, when he blinked a few times. An old, familiar face showing up at this time? Hoshi, to Christian’s surprise had shown up and was near the fountain, attempting to at least provide Leo an attempt to get out of the line of fire. Speaking of fire, the one that burned in his belly was starting to be stoked again, realizing that he was going to have to try and provide more cover til those that needed gone were. He was still a tiny bit dizzy when he pushed himself from the floor, evident by him landing square on his a**. When he hit the floor, he saw a brunette he’d never seen before (Tara) begin to assault the buglady with a bunch of debris, rocks she’d manipulated straight from the ground. Interesting in both ability and timing. Thankfully, the ringing in his ears subsided slightly when he heard Daylia’s voice and saw her hand extended out to him. Thank the Gods, it seemed the pendulum was beginning to swing in their favor.

With Daylia helping him to his feet, Christian was up and at ‘em again, raring to keep this fight raging on for as long as he possibly could. “Thanks, Chameleon,” Christian said as he took a brief inventory of how many rounds were left in his gun; six by his count. “But if we take the whore out, that means you have to pay for services rendered… AND the meal.” Miu stood gingerly and faced the two Omegas. If she could have been more pissed than earlier, she’d have been dead of a coronary. The insect lady straight wanted to cut Christian’s head off and Daylia, since she sided with Christian in this fight was an extra added bonus. “Tell ya what. Let’s start a dead bug collection, startin’ with this b***h,” Christian said, a wry grin forming over his face. He knew was he was doing in trying to rile the insect lady up again and it was working; Miu took a couple of slow steps forward before freezing in her tracks… obviously cowing to something or someone… bigger

**Elsewhere: Out of the shadows, into the light**

He drew overly sharp nails against the metal railing, causing the weaker steel bend up in fragile curls. He was bored… Restless. Angry. There was so much fear in the air…It smelled so…Perfect. Ripe for the taking. And finally…Finally he was permitted by his ‘Master’ to partake. He flexed, lips curled into a sneer…Onyx eyes were filled with a savage ferocity that was unmatched. It was like watching a tiger pace behind a flimsy cage…One good roar would set all of the madness free.

Victor Creed had spent far too much time in the shadows…He was good at lurking, but not for long. He preferred to attack, once his target was in sight. But…Magneto had ordered that he wait. Wait on the sidelines while Mystique, his children, and the little weaklings Pyro and Toad got to amuse themselves. He’d made sure to stay downwind of the Wolverine clone, and the mutant himself… He was a trump card, just in case things didn’t go as planned…

But since they were…He’d been given the signal by Mystique, that it was fine to help with the cleanup. That everything was already going to plan.

And of course, to make sure she wasn’t followed.

He vaulted off the railing, landing behind a boy in a long coat. He seemed to be wielding a gun… Pitiful. There were women near to him…But his sights were focused on the kid. He looked like a fighter, like a scrapper. One of Mystiques new little gang looked awfully angry with him.

He looked like fun.

But the insectoid woman took one look at his face, and backed away…He growled under his breath, announcing his presence to the boy… Perhaps a mistake on his part. But he raised his hand, claws gleaming as he snarled. “Gonna put a hole in you, just like Mystique put a hole in that girl.”

“Except wider. Larger.”

Sabretooth moved quickly, instead of hitting Christian with the hand he’d raised—He drew back and aimed for his midsection with his other hand—Conscious that the Xavier brat was armed and dangerous.

**

To his dismay, Christian didn’t hear the sounds of the animalistic behemoth landing on the ground behind him at all. In fact, he was about to start a mini-celebration upon seeing Miu backing down. It wasn’t until he heard the snarling, not unlike a mountain cat back home, that Christian turned around. Slowly, his eyes grew wide with terror; Christian had seen files and had heard legend of this particular brute… Sabretooth. And there he stood, towering over the younger mutant and threatening to gut the junior X-Man. Frozen with fear, he stood with his vision fixed solely on Sabretooth’s raised hand which was aimed straight at his face; he was nearly oblivious to the claws sailing straight for his stomach. The irony wasn’t wasted upon him at all when he heard Solaris’ message about him ‘staying safe’ piping through the moment he was attacked.

Feeling those talons hitting his stomach, even though the slash wasn’t that deep at all, hurt a thousand times worse than anything that Miu had hit him with. Christian stumbled back a few steps, right arm wrapped around his midsection momentarily, pain clouding his mind. He knew the situation just got a metric shitton worse and he wasn’t quite sure how to handle it. Out of a combined effort of fear and instinct, Christian leveled his gun straight at Sabretooth’s chest… doing his best to keep his aim steady and still as a rock.

“You got the stones to use that, boy?,” Creed mocked derisively, “Gonna take more than that capgun to put me down.”

“Really? Let’s test that theory,” Christian replied flatly as he squeezed the trigger, emptying four rounds straight into the beast’s chest. Sabretooth only took a few steps backwards, obviously not letting the pain get the better of him at all. The fear that had paralyzed Christian before had begun to slowly ebb away. It was at that moment, that instant that Christian realized exactly what Sabretooth was; an animal, pure and simple. And Christian had stood down more than his fair share of wild animals back home. Creed was no ordinary animal though, that much was apparent, when he began digging bullets from his chest and licking his fingers clean of the blood. There was a smirk on the villain’s mug, one that dared Christian to keep trying. This time, while he backpedaled and Sabretooth advanced, Christian took aim at his opponent’s knees. Two loud cracks permeated the air and Sabretooth was on the ground, kneeling.. obviously not going anywhere at the moment.

“Yer a cheatin’ b*****d, boy!!,” Sabretooth roared, trying to will himself to his feet. Until the beast’s healing abilities kicking in, it was a physical impossibility. Christian seeing that he had a few seconds replaced the empty clip in his gun with a fresh one. By his count he had one full and one half full clip left. Maybe that was enough to buy a bit of time. Of course, he did still have a trump card in his possession.

“Cheatin’ or not, it worked,” Christian said as he balled up his unarmed hand into a fest, a dark blue energy encasing the appendage. “And you’d do well to learn when to shut the Hell up.” At that, Christian let loose the final amounts of stored energy he’d been saving, sending Sabretooth flying backwards and crashing hard through a random storefront. It wasn’t over though, Christian knew, but here was a bit more time bought for his friends.

Even with the pain hitting him hard now, he fought to keep his rational mind about, realizing that with the fights raging on, that one bomb was diffused finally, and the sudden appearance of Sabretooth that it was time to move out. Yesterday. The orders that Leo were barking out to everyone didn’t fall on Christian’s deaf ears; retreat was the only option. Looking over toward’s Hoshi, Tara, Daylia’s and Leo’s direction, he spoke up as quickly and loudly as he could. “Whoever’s leavin’, do it now! I’ll cover…”

Christian couldn’t finish his sentence due to being blindsided from his right by the halfton snarling, pouncing mass known as Sabretooth. A snarling mass that, after a momentary tumble away from Christian’s friends, had the young man by the throat with his feet absent from the ground. To his credit, the gun never left his hand or hit the ground; he’d a deathgrip on the piece much like how Sabretooth had a deathgrip on his throat. Through the agonizing pain of getting his throat crushed, Sidetrack managed to jam the weapon’s barrel hard into Creed’s ribs. He had only one option for escape and he was damned if he wasn’t going to use it now. But, since Creed had Christian caught up in his left hand, that left the villain’s right to stop the weapon from being used. With a twist, a loud snapping sound akin to fireworks exploding, it was; Christian’s gun fell to the floor hard. Twas quite difficult holding a firearm with a shattered left forearm and wrist. Still, throughout the pain and quickening lack of oxygen, Christian couldn’t help but to fight for his life.

“Remember what I said,” Sabretooth snarled as he flashed a handful of claw, causing Christian’s eyes to widen further than they did upon the villain’s arrival. Nothing could have braced him for what was in store. In a split second, he felt four clawed fingers pierce the upper left quadrant of his chest, hitting the top of his lung and shearing straight through both ribs and clavicle. “Told ya exactly what I was gonna do, boy.” When Sabretooth said that, he let loose the grip on Christian’s throat, letting the young man hang precariously from his claws. Then, with a violent kick leveled at Christian’s stomach which effectively knocked what little air he had left out, Sabretooth forcefully removed his claws from his victim.

Christian hit the ground with a very soggy thud, landing oh so hard on his decimated left side. He had least had a bit of his wits about him and rolled himself over on his chest, despite the pain. He knew he was losing a lot of blood, too much blood. His breathing was beginning to grow heavy and labored; blood was quickly filling his lung. The crimson pool near Christian’s chest was simultaneously darkening and expanding. He didn’t even know when it was that shock over took his body and made him pass out.

Creed looked at the ground towards the dying Christian and only smiled in admiration of his handiwork. Another of Xavier’s little puppets torn to shreds, another one that was going to stuff a pine box. But he knew that his fun was only just in its infancy. The wicked smile never left the villain’s maw as he scoured the scenery around him before his eyes settled upon the departing group of X-Men. “Who’s next?,” Sabretooth snarled as he began to stalk towards his newer prey.

Omega:Knoxx's group: Sometimes muscles come in handy..

User ImageLillian didn't wait to start looking for a perfect object to chuck. The rain was both an advantage and disadvantage in this situation. While it hindered her opponents vision of her it hindered hers on him as well. There were suitable size chunks of concrete broken up by earlier uses of Avalanche's power. But that was to easy to avoid and he would probably just shatter it with his powers before it hit if he didn't just dodge it. No she needed something that if he used his powers on it it would explode, or was large enough that if he had to dodge it left a large enough opening for the others to get to him.

She looked around as the first message from Knoxx. At first the message was cut off Lillian was worried for her friend that something happened. But shortly after Knoxx's voice once again came through her comm. She had agreed with Lillian's plan and was re-enforcing it by repeating it to the others.

Lillian found a suitable object for the job. It was a newer dark colored mini van. As long as it had a full gas tank if Avalanche used his abilities on it, well it would explode. One providing a distraction for the others and also possibly hurting her target. Running over to it she looked in the van and saw there were people hiding inside it. "s**t!" Lillian cursed loudly just as Psyche and then Aren's voice comm through her comm. Psyche was worried about the building she was on coming down and Aren was worried about the other end the building falling on him. "Yeah I am on it sadly my intended object had people hiding in it." She said in return before her attention quickly returned to the mini van.

Knocking on the window Lillian yelled at the occupants. "Get out of the van the building is gonna come down!!!" She said in a frantic manor in hopes of getting the people out of the van. And it worked well in a near instant time the van was emptied of civilians. "Run that way and it's clear in that direction." Lillian said pointing down the street away from Avalanche where she had taken down the morlock. There was a lack of baddies that way. Those civilians ran in the direction she pointed so now all Lillian could do for them was hope they made it out.

Now she had her projectile that was large, heavy and potentially explosive it was perfect. Then Rave's words came through her comm saying to let him know when. Good they were on the same page. Moving over to the mini van Lillian lifted the front end off the ground to get a better hold. Dragging it to the middle of the street thanks to the rain it might look like someone trying to flee the area by vehicle. Taking a second to go through memories of the absorbed morlock she could not only feel but see she was more then strong enough for the task at hand.

"Okay I am in position." Lillian said through her comm she could see the form of Avalanche moving in line with her down the street. "I will throw on three."

Taking a deep breath she flexed her fingers slightly focusing on her target. "One." Lillian watched Avalanche intently glad thanks to his powers people kept far from him. "Two." She shook the wet hair from her face checking her grip. And at that point she spun in a circle to gain momentum for the throw. "Three." She said just as the van was in the perfect spot. Throwing the vehicle with great strength the van hurtled toward Avalanche's position. Her foot hit a rock after she let go of the van slipping she fell on her butt yet again. Lillian couldn't help but laugh at herself mainly since she had the luck for it to happen after her task was complete not during where it screwed everything up.

Getting to her feet Lillian charged forward knowing her body was more then tough enough to just encase be another distraction for Avalanche. If he lashed out toward her before Knoxx, Psyche, Measure, and Rave dealt with him.

ALPHAS
The fountain in the mall

Major fail at coolness

Hoshi blinked at the suspious look that Renaissance Man gave her. She was sure they'd met before, but what with being sucked into two equally creepy dimensions, (one of which they didn't look like themselves), Catalina, and her having gone to Ireland for her grandmother's funeral, she wasn't really surprised he didn't recognize her once she'd thought about it. Hoshi bit her lip as a girl (TARA) came over and used some sort of telekinesis to help the temporary leader out of the mall.

Hoshi scanned the area for where she could help without turning into a dragon and spotted a long metal pole laying on the ground. Pouncing on it, she began twirling it around as a bo staff like Gambit did- and promptly smacked herself in the eye with the end. Owie. ow. ow. I seriously doubt I was lucky enough for no one to see that. she thought sardonically and rubbed her swiftly swelling eye. Note to self- do not try this again until you've been training as long as Gambit has. One semester of bo staff training does not make you an expert at the thing. She instructed herself.

Finally, it occurred to her to turn her com on- just in time to hear Renaissance Man confirm the order to get the heck outta dodge as it where, taking out as many bad guys as possible whilst saving people. Seeing that the majority of normal people had long since fled, Hoshi extended her wings and flew high as the ceiling of the mall would allow her to, hovering to look for someone to fight. It was then that she spotted the large furry mutant that stood over one of the omegas. She felt her blood drain as she recognized Sabertooth. When she'd joined the Alphas, Mr. Summers had briefed her on some of the X-men's major enemies and the most dangerous of them had been Sabertooth. Scott had told her that under no circumstance was she to engage the mad man, to run away and find someone much older than her- namely, himself or Logan. If all else failed, she could call on Veritas, but that was only as a last resort.

"Veritas, Sabertooth just seriously hurt one of the omegas, and now he's heading towards the others." She said, swallowing her terror.

Hoping that Gideon heard her, Hoshi flew towards the opposite end of the mall and began looking under benches for small children- she knew from dealing with her sisters that it was a distinct possibility. Sure enough, she found five children hiding in the little playhouse that the mall provided as a way to tire out children while their parents took a break from shopping.[/co
"Hello. I'm Seriyu. How would you guys like to ride a Dragon?" She said, dropping her makeshift bo staff and kneeling so that she was level with a little boy who stood protectively in front of the group. "What dwagon?" he demanded, his fists slowly dropping. In reply, Hoshi shifted to one of her smaller dragon forms and crouched so the kids could scramble on. Moving slowly so as to not jar any of the kids, Hoshi flew into the air and towards the exit, wincing as she felt her back get very wet and very warm as one of the children became hysterical. Oh, I hope Sabertooth doesn't hear him until I get them out of his striking range.

Covet merely shrugged as the armored man gave her a response. She turned just in time to notice a scaled reptilian mutant wielding a baseball bat coming at her. She was able to just barely sidestep the man’s attack. It was close enough that she could feel the wind and rain being displaced by his position. Quick thinker that she was, she wasted no time in wrapping a thick lock of hair around the morlock’s neck before he could move another step. Her head was only tugged slightly as the lock of hair shrank back into her head, pulling the mutant backward and slamming him to the ground flat on his back, the bat rolling a few feet away.

With a mock yawn she pinned the morlock down with her foot on his chest, mercilessly pressing her spike heel as hard as she could against his sternum. The mutant made no effort to conceal the pain her action caused him. ”Really, Paladin? This is fun?” she remarked rather coldly as another lock of her found itself wrapping around the misplaced baseball bat’s handle. With no effort she brought the weapon up, then crashing down against the fallen mutant’s jaw with an absolute ferocity that did not show on her features in the slightest. There was a sickening crunch of bone and gurgle of blood as the man’s eyes rolled back in pain, and then closed; whether or not he was dead Orchid did not care in the slightest. The Cuban was very many things; merciful to her attackers was nowhere near one of them. It would not be the first time she took a life. It wasn’t even a week since she found out about her mutation when she choked a man to death, and that wasn’t even in retaliation.

Another morlock was a little bolder. He was a rather pale, inhumanly skinny man with talon-like hands. He immediately tried to pounce, raising his hands for a vicious swipe. Orchid was a little less subtle with this one. By her logic, the man was too skinny to have much strength. She caught his hands in midair with two long locks of hair, and to her astonishment she was right. Without much thought, she spread his arms as far apart as they could go without breaking anything, then sent forth two more locks of hair to secure his legs. Without further ado she stepped forward and raised her outstretched hand, then proceeded to slap him across his face as hard as she can. ”No!” she called out loudly as if she were scolding a child or disobedient puppy. She then brought the lock holding the baseball bat down and slammed the business end against his abdomen, letting his limbs go in the process. As he doubled over she swung the bat yet again as hard as she can, this time to the back of his head, putting him down once and for all. She stepped over his crumpled form rather coolly, a malevolent smile quite visibly on her face, as she followed the others in her group toward the Scarlet Witch.

She nodded silently as Narcissa told them what to do. She warned them about the police and how they might react. It would be the typical human response. They see a bunch of liberally dressed teens with superpowers and all of a sudden they wanted the extinction of the entire human race. Well, to their credit they weren’t too far off in their analysis, at the very least not in Orchid’s case. She stood by her principle that humans were nothing more than cattle meant to serve the superior race of mutants as they ushered in the next stage of human evolution. That they refused to step aside and give in to their fates willingly annoyed the Latina. Were it up to her she’d be helping the Brotherhood, but she needed the X-Men for now. She’d simply have to grit her teeth and help the pathetic sheep for now.

She warned them that the Scarlet Witch was dangerous, of which she had no trouble believing. Even with the atrocious weather playing with her senses, she could see the havoc the woman was causing. It was impressive, and strangely enough rather exciting. Narcissa then opened fire on the witch, more so testing the waters than anything. The energy seemed to dig through the ground for a bit before finally attacking the crimson-clad mutant. As it did so the energy appeared to halt, and with no visible effort from the Witch turned into a pinkish mist before disappearing. Very impressive. She nodded in agreement when their Omega leader described the situation in two simple words, and immediately followed through with her team's command.

The Scarlet Witch spoke in thinly veiled threats. Orchid began moving just as one of Cyclops’s optic blasts evaporated just as Narcissa’s ball of energy did, making the Witch temporarily turn her attention toward senior X-Men leader. As the woman made her move against the elder Summers brother, many police officers thought it an opportune moment to open fire on the sorceress, only to meet their end via the same bullets they’d fired. Stupid, pathetic humans; why in God’s name were they protecting them? At this point, such stupidity deserved the reward it got. Mutants wouldn’t need to take over the world; humans would simply be stupid enough to wipe themselves out and leave the world to its rightful owners. Her expression remained unfazed by the sight of so many men dying before her eyes. Simply put, they were not worthy. They were simply victims of evolution, nothing less, nothing more. They were not worth the hair manipulator’s pity. They were animals who were sooner or later going to pick each other off anyway.

It was then that the Scarlet Witch began her own attack on the Omegas. She fired hex bolts on the gutters of the building closest to her and Paladin, and immediately the metal pipes roared to life ready to attack them. Suddenly Orchid was not so enthusiastic about getting the Witch’s phone number. A shame too, she was a pretty delicious sight, especially in that costume of hers.

It didn’t take long for Paladin to outright abandon her and go on his merry way to attack the Witch, leaving her all alone against a metallic onslaught. Men. They simply weren’t reliable for anything. The X-Man known as Paladin was a skilled fighter and rather strong… and those were just about the only positive marks she could give him. He was, quite simply, a stupid brute; the kind of soldier a general threw at his enemy as a distraction so that the real strategists could take their shot. He was also incredibly naïve. Men? Innocent? In her experience those two words did not belong anywhere in the same sentence. He was, to put it frankly, cannon fodder, and deserved whatever hell the Scarlet Witch had in store for him. Evolution has its dead ends.

She hopped to the side as one of the gutters coiled and tried to strike a blow on her, crashing through the concrete that was once below her feet. She just barely weaved out of the way of another one as she began sprinting away from them. Bad time to be wearing heels, but dammit did she look good. She managed to get a little closer to Narcissa’s position as one finally managed to hit her in the back, knocking her over, a loud grunt escaping her lips as she landed rather hard on her forearms. Those would not look pretty the following day, if she even survived this one. She rolled over just barely in time to dodge another metallic strike at her head.

She made it to her feet, turning toward her intended goal just in time to see Narcissa being knocked over only a few feet away. Without even thinking about it she closed the distance, grabbing the blonde by her waist and her biceps with her hair just before she could hit the ground. With some effort, she lifted the Omega Leader back to her feet. ”You alright?” she asked the team leader with sincere concern in her tone. She let go of the blond and let her get her own bearings before turning to look all around her. Kraken was fighting his own demon and Paladin was still rushing one of the most powerful beings alive essentially with a stick. Scarlet Witch was still being damn hot and threatening them, a newcomer was contending with Quicksilver, and the gutters were nearing their position. ”Normally I like to handle women over a glass of Flor and new silk sheets, but I have an adverse reaction to attempted murder, namely my own.” She turned toward the blond next to her. ”What do we do?” She had a few ideas of her own, but she’d let Narcissa initiate any plans.

Naturally, she lured the metal contraptions in Narcissa’s direction. If anyone can take down such a thing it wasn’t going to be Orchid, but the pretty energy user.

Isabella woke up with a cry that nearly made Gambit drop her. His ears ringing, he stumbled as his head swam. Reflexively he tightened his grip on the woman he was holding, lips pressed into a grim line as dour red eyes glimmered. “Hush now, chere… Gambit doesn’t need to be deaf while tryin to keep you safe. Ca va?”

The songstress bit back another wail, silently apologizing…Murmuring reflexively, that she was fine…She’d been unable to help herself. Everything had been dark, Peaceful and quiet. That is, until suddenly everything was bright… So god awful bright, and loud. It had been the explosion going off that had woken her, though contained by Aurelie, her extra sensitive hearing heard it as if it had gone off right next to her head. Breathing through her mouth, her teeth ground together—She buried a whimper when her shoulder was jarred. She was disoriented, and good god the pain… She recalled being shot at a dozen times…

But Bella didn’t think the bullet had actually ever connected before. She’d always thought her luck would run out… But she hadn’t expected it to happen while at the mall, of all places. Not to mention that since her adrenaline had all but disappeared, so there was no buffer between her and the agonizing feeling of the bullet in her muscle tissue.

“God…G-Gambit, where is everyone? W-Where are we?”, she stuttered out, eyelids fluttering…Not quite there. Every other word was in Spanish…But she was awake, and at least alert enough to know that something was wrong… To know that the fight was still going on. Her shoulder had been bound, halting the blood flow…But the makeshift bandages were already soaked through. Thankfully Gambit was able to decipher her broken English.

“We’re pulling out, chere. I already called Emma for extraction. She said someone should be here soon.”, the swamp rat explained to her, ducking into the shadows of a building as an angry mob of humans went by. Siren was injured enough that he couldn’t put her down to fight. She was weak, losing a lot of blood… She couldn’t take anymore hits. Recalling the way Rogue had chewed out the Headmistress, he was confident that help would be coming soon.

“Explosion… There was an explosion. Loud. Mystique. Protocol is to fall back. Where are they? N-Not here…”, Isabella murmured, her eyes closed as she tried to reach out with her ears and echolocation to find her team. They were her responsibility… She had to take care of them. What kind of leader was she, the first one out in a fight? “Not here.”

“They’ll be all right. I promise. Rogue and Wolverine are with them—“

Suddenly Gambit stilled.

There was a very, very small man seated in a lotus position on the ground in all of the chaos. He couldn’t have been anymore than 80lbs, and his hair a particular shade of grey. He was older, his skin a deep tan. More importantly, he was holding a particular item that caught the Creole’s eye. A bullroarer. He didn’t move forward until Emma’s voice chimed in his head, vouching for the man.

Shifting Isabella slightly, he tapped his comm to his chin. “Rogue—You know how we thought Gateway was gone? Well, we were wrong.”

“He’s our extraction team.”

Behind the seated man, a portal, or gateway opened…Gambit couldn’t see through it, a white film preventing that…But he trusted the man, as much as he trusted some of the other senior X-Men. Though he was very curious about the great-grandfather of Bishop…It was said that the Marauders had killed him not long ago… But if Emma have the green light, he wouldn’t say anything against it.

Yet.

“Hang on, chere.”

Passing the little man, he walked into the portal…Blinded for a moment, only to find himself standing on the Academy’s front doorstep. The doors opened, and immediately Gambit was bombarded with questions as Isabella was taken to the infirmary.

Avalanche had been causing the ground to literally open up and swallow men as it struck his fancy and as a result more than one building shook. Most tall buildings these days were built with a reinforced structures to keep paltry things like earth quakes from taking them down...Lucy for him, this was the wrong side of the country for tremors and the city was much less prepared. The earth cracked and split whenever he pleased. Men and women ran in terror whenever they saw him facing their direction.

Not that it did them any good.

As the other mutants rounded up civilians to use as hostages he stared down at their new pawns intensely almost daring them to try and escape. A quick show of his powers by opening up the ground to swallow a car whole... And words were no longer necessary to convey his threat. The hostages were much to frightened to even think about trying to escape and stayed put.

The X-Men arrived, just as Magneto had predicted they would, to try and free his pathetic flatscan hostages, and the mutants around him took off to stop them. Turning and watching as the X-Men began to dispatch the other mutants, their hired and bribed help, his gaze turned sour. Why did the goody goodies always have to get involved, try try and save the day? It was ruining his evening...Abruptly he noticed one X-Freak stationed high up on a building... She seemed to be sending projectiles down.

Not waiting for them to really get within range of him to do damage the man lifted his foot, pausing deliberately when his knee rose high... Only to stomp down on the ground with what seemed like more force than should have been possible. The ground shook violently and multiple cracks appeared in front of him. The cracks quickly moved towards the assembled X-Men, and widened dramatically, threatening to swallow them whole.

One rather large crack proceeded to move right past the group of white hats on the ground and headed straight for the building Psych was on. It was an attempt to ruin the structural integrity... To make the building sway, and with another vicious stomp, he was clearly attempting to bring it down on top of her. In order to hopefully further deal with them, potentially eradicate his opponents, he made the surrounding area shake and shudder violently. It was intended to help them loose their footing and fall victim to his other traps. He didn't have the same thought process as the Scarlet Witch... She wanted to keep her group alive, per her fathers orders... Avalanche just wanted to crush them. The longer they were left alive, the more quickly he could see their well laid plans turning to ash. He only wished Magneto could see that. The X-Men were sympathizers, and a plague."You'll never learn, do you X-Men? You can preach equality and peace all you want... But the humans will never give you the same respect. This is what they asked for-- This is their war."

"The humans started it. With or without your help, the Brotherhood will finish it!"

There was suddenly a van being launched in his direction, and he dropped to the ground as it sailed over his head. Oh yes, the X-Men definitely had his attention now.. The vehicle crashed behind him in a ball of flame, and he grit his teeth from the heat.

It was time. He knew that some would be confused…News of his death, at the hands of the Marauders would have easily reached X-Men ears…But such a falsehood had become necessary. There were many, that would take his gifts as an opportunity to abuse them…And he couldn’t allow that. But new information had come to him, and it was time, once again, to step in and let his allies know of his presence. The things he had seen…The things he had heard—The madness, that was Magneto…The human penchant for violence…No, he did not wish the world to suffer that.

And the X-Men were one of the few groups that might have been able to defend the humans, and protect mutant-kind at the same time. He could trust them, to take his advice…To heed his warnings. To know how to proceed…Because the state of the world wasn’t going to get any gentler, anytime soon.

It was said that it was darkest before the dawn…But in this case, Gateway wasn’t sure that dawn was coming.

He closed the portal behind Remy LeBeau and the small woman-child he was carrying, and reopened another for himself as he shifted to his feet—Old bones creaking and protesting, but still moving in good working order. //Now for the rest.//

Emma would be a might sore with him, if he was too late and lost some of her children. A might sore indeed.

Gateway blinked in and out of existence, scouring the mall quickly for remaining hostage humans. At one point he even came in contact with a hairy monster that recognized him immediately. Victor Creed. No, that wouldn’t do. He opened portal after portal—And one the humans in the mall were safe he turned to the X-Men. It wasn’t his preference, it had been Emma’s command. No one would say that this group of mutants abandoned humans in their hour of need.

Rogue came down through the broken skylight…Seeing nothing but red as one of the Omega’s bled out on the floor. She’d heard Gambit’s message about Gateway, and prayed that the man was half as omniscient as everyone said he was. She hit Sabertooth in his sadistic jaw so hard that she swore she saw teeth fly out of his mouth as he sailed none too gently into an adjacent wall. The floor of the mall not far away seemed to slowly be caving…

As far as she knew, Allegra had managed to contain the worst of the bomb with the help of the others… But if that were the case, why would the floor be sinking?

Nevertheless, she didn’t have time to dwell on it. She’d seen a few of the Alpha’s carrying the telekinetic away…Her actions had likely saved hundreds of lives—But at what cost? Pressing her comm, her dark eyes were horrified as she used her coat to try and staunch the worst of the blood flow from Christian…Her pale skin was quickly painted red…There was so much gore. The meatier chunks made her stomach turn as cold fear ran down her spine. ”Elixir this is Rogue—Prep a few crash carts. Save your strength, get Angel—We have wounded coming your way in spades. Sidetrack is…He’s going to need you, stat. Allegra isn’t in good shape either.”, Her field medicine was limited—But she knew that the Omega didn’t have the time for her to experiment. She used her enhanced strength to lift Christian from the debris, ever so carefully.

Oh, god.’, she thought, unable to help the thought…Unable to stop herself from praying that moving the boy wouldn’t make it worse. He had a pulse, at least. Weak…But there.

Turning around, she was face to face with a white portal.

Thank god.

Rogue ran through it without hesitation, and it seemed that the Academy must have been forewarned—Perhaps by Gambit, because there were at least five stretchers with crash carts waiting. She lay him down on the bed, and immediately, they started to work.

Raising her comm again, she realized that Wolverine was the only staff member left on site. The Alpha’s might not trust Gateway on their own.

“Alpha’s and Wolverine—Evac is in the form of a mutant called Gateway. He will be opening a portal for you, that will immediately teleport you back to the Academy. He is a friend. Orders are to Retreat fully: Trust Gateway, and he will bring you home.”

No sooner had Rogue’s words gone over the comm, than the main group of Alpha’s would see a small, elderly man, only half dressed—Standing before them, where he hadn’t been before. After he collected this group, he would do a sweep to be sure that there hadn’t been any left behind.

So for the time being, a large glowing portal beckoned, waiting to bring the Alpha’s to safety. He did not speak…It was not his way…But he raised his bullroarer, and gestured towards the portal with a nod of his head.

Trust Gateway, and he will bring you home…

Omega, Location: Courtyard
Second thoughts, could have used those a while back…

Roland barreled his way towards the Scarlet Witch, his hate fueling his footsteps as he pounded through the rain. The rage within him over what he had seen burned like a raging fire, that could only be put out with her blood. His blade felt good in his hand, the weight of it the feel of it all felt just right. But as he made his way towards her, something in his head slowly made him stop.

A little voice in the back of his head What are you mental? the voice was bold, gruff a little bit.

He slowed down, responding to the question “No, I just want her blood.”

Well then you have to be crazy. Look at what she did over here, she stopped BULLETS! You think you can get anywhere near her? the voice angrily berated. By now Roland had come to a complete stop, roughly halfway between the building and the Scarlet Witch. He scanned about and saw that Covet and Narcissa were together, likely trying to figure out a plan of attack. Kraken was contending with his own metallic nightmare, and a new guy was going up against the speedster known as Quicksilver. As he continued to regain his composure he saw that a group of Morlocks were making their way towards Narcissa and Covet, making their way through the wreckage to get towards them. There were a lot: 10, maybe 12. Not like he thought those two couldn’t handle themselves, they were both clearly capable of it, but he figured Narcissa’s abilities could be put to better use against the woman that seemed to be on par with gods.

Now do what you need to do man, be the knight not the savage. the voice said to him

What should I call you? he asked his seemingly inner counsel

Call me Noble. he replied

Roland began to double back, taking Noble's advice, his weapon in hand as he sprinted. In between him and the small mob there were cars, one had been flipped onto the other making a DIY ramp. He thought this might be a good moment for a form of redemption, plus he could take any smug looks off that chick that changes her hair every god dam minute. He ran across the makeshift ramp, and as he did he placed his hand on his comm link.

“If you two got any good ideas use them! I’ll hold these guys off!” and he made his leap.

The first within the mob didn’t realize he was being tackled by a guy that had well over a hundred pounds on him, but it didn’t matter to Roland. He landed with a bone cracking descent, and soon had the whole mob on him. As hands and weapons descended on him, he realized that if he were to die right now, he wouldn’t entirely care.

However part of him did, and that’s why he fought like a madman to keep breathing.
