Jaquel paused his assault when he saw something out the window behind her. "What the...?" What appeared to be a rock tied to a garden hose zipped up past the second floor window. The hose sort of wiggled for a bit before Van could be seen scaling the side of the building before finally crashing through the window at Jaquel, confusing the hell out of all parties present.
"YOU KEEP YOUR FILTHY CLAWS OFFA HER!!" Van cried in the midst of his dynamic entry.
((No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't resist doing this. rofl ))

Mala was horrible puzzled when Van burst in within the first few secconds. Afterwards, she felt an odd mixture of relief and horror. Van was going to get Riley killed! She wouldn't let that happen, and would assist Van in battle if need be should one arise.

Van jumped back when Jaquel made a swipe at him. "Like hell am I going to let traumatize my only ticket out of this body!" he said reaching for a broken shard of glass for a weapon.
"Out of...? OH! You must be that thief god that got locked up all those years ago! Don't worry, I think I fill the position better anyway." Jaquel said as he got up and brushed himself off. "Thievery's a sin, which should be left to the demons."
"WHAT?!!" Van was clearly pissed. "Like HELL I'm gonna let you move in on my territory!! Besides, you're doing it ALL wrong!" he then proceded to go off topic and actually point out the flaws in Jaquel's methods. "Thievery is about physically stealing. From what I can tell, you're taxing everyone into submission. Plus the girls aren't to be raped! You're supposed to have charm. RAPE ISN'T CHARMING!!"
((I don't think I know what I'm doing anymore. XD ))

Mala facepalmed once Van started mentioning his territory. "Atius damn it..." she grumbled, feeling that the moment of awesome was completely lost now. She then silently began a 'blessing' of good fortune for Jaquel, which would most likely have the opposite effect due to his being a demon. Hopefully, their petty arguement would keep them distracted long enough for Mala to silently complete the spell.

"You're starting to get on my nerves, kid!" Jaquel said, slightly angry now.
"What's this 'kid' crap?! You know damn well that I-grk!" Van was cut off when Jaquel grabbed him by the throat suddenly.
"It doesn't matter who you are. Either way, you're just a weak kid with zero power!" Jaquel cackled as he lifted Van off the ground. "Question is, how should I confirm my new standing? Killing you is the obvious choice, but the method should be fitting of an ex-god."

Mala guasped at this, losing concentration for her 'blessing'. She didn't know whether or not she finished, or even if it would take effect. However, she simply couldn't let Jaquel hurt her brother any more than he already might have. Her gaze bolted about the room, searching for something she could throw. The best she could do were her shoes, which would have to do for the moment. She slipped one off and attempted to throw it at Jaquel's head. Mala knew she was in for an assload of hurt because of this, but she would rather her be hurt than Riley.

As the shoe bounced off Jaquel's face, the demon held a  expression, wondering if the girl was serious about stopping his rampage with a shoe of all things. "I sincerely hope you weren't serious with that pathetic excuse for an attack." he said while Van tried using one of his dangling feet to point Mala to the shard of glass he'd dropped.

Mala cut the innocent act and said, "Hey, I used what I had at hand. It just so happened to suck." She shrugged, hiding her embarassment with a casual expression. She spotted the glass shard, but pretended not to notice it. She slowly approached, aiming to be able to grab the shard as quickly as possible without her intentions being guessed. "At least it got your attention. Now, could you let the little guy go? It's not my brother's fault that he got forced into being some selfish egotistical brat's vessal."

"Sorry, but I doubt I'll get a chance like this again." Jaquel said looking back at Van as he slowly tightened his grip around his neck. "It's funny really, how fragile humans are. You just need to keep squeezing until they pop." he said with a twisted smile. He could see Van was starting to drift out of consciousness.

Sure, Mala's armstrength and healing ability was almost nonexistant. However, her legs worked pretty well. She swooped up the glass shard with one hand, aiming one leg to kick Jaquel in the nads as quickly and painfully as she could. If she succeeded, she would then proceed to try and cut his arm or his neck - whichever she could reach first.

With a look of utter pain and shock, Jaquel crumpled instantly upon impact, dropping Van to the ground to cough and gasp for sweet air.

Mala flung off her other shoe, sweeped Van up, and jumped out of the window. Being the cheating McBitchpants cheater she was, she used a barrier to break their fall. Once she bounced off, she landed on her feet and continued to flee. "********?!?!" she exclaimed in a hyper tone, deciding to bolt onto whichever ship was leaving soon and stowaway to wherever the hell they were going. Besides...this town can always be saved later, right? Now that I think of it, she has a rather gray morality for a priestess...doesn't she? One has to wonder how she of all people got picked to be Atius' high priestess in Atalus.

"We both screwed up, Bono! Now, are we going to point fingers or are we going to GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE?!" she barked in response, not too impressed by his supposedly valiant rescue. Still, it was the thought that counted, I guess.
