 These vampires were really starting to get on her nerves. Chris had just almost been decapitated and he had snapped the neck of the young vamp, it just healed back!
Damn vampires! Why couldn't they just stay broken!?
Sarah, who was busy distracting the older vampire due to her greater ability (even though she was a girl), was doing pretty well. The vampire had "classically" attempted to throw her into a wall, but, because of Casper's technique, twisted her body to the side in a relatively graceful display and tumbled to the ground just next to the wall so no damage could be done. She was feeling really good, but when all of her attention was once again focused on the vampire, he was gone, no where to be found.
"SARAH!"

Casper had basically dragged Luna to the fight scene. He was excited, to say the least. Casper lived for vampire vs. hunter fights, like actually. They were what governed the entirety of his human life. He breathed, ate and dreamed vampire, hunter fights. It was his things, and so what if he sort of got high on them!
At least it was a "drug" that didn't make him see rainbows.
As soon as they arrived he knew something was happening. It sounded like somebody was in trouble, that was for sure. Nothing was really grabbing his attention all too much, but everything changed when he herd the desperate cry, the thundering "Sarah", that filled not only Casper's ears, but his body.
He thrust himself into the fight immediately. There was no ******** way he was going to let some blood sucking piece of s**t hurt his Sarah.
Everything was a flash. Time probably didn't have, well, time, to figure out what was happening. Casper could see the elder vampire rush at Sarah from the side and did something...well, unheard of.
Casper stuck himself between the hunter and the vampire and in a quick but powerful movement, knocked the neck and lifted up the jaw of the opposing vampire with his forearm. The disgusting crack filled the ally about a second after the action had actually happened. The 800 year old vampire spun wildly into the wall, breaking the bricks and probably his skull.
Casper stood there, his knees bending slightly as his fangs sprung out of their fleshy home. He opened his mouth folded his upper lip up and snarled so viciously he sounded more rabid wolf than vampire.
He had done something unthinkable.
A vampire, had just saved a hunter's life.

Luna squeaked in shock as Casper jumped in between the elder vampire and the girl. That same ******** girl who had nearly cornered her in an ally. She watched in almost sick amazement as Casper nearly beheaded the vampire with his bare hands and she stood in the mouth of deserted allyway. Casper was standing way too close for comfort to those hunters and she was just... she was worried sick. So, despite all her muscles wanting to flee she walked calmly towards Casper, ready to help him if necessary.

A vampire, had jumped in front of her...to save her!?
No, she had to be dreaming? But...last time she checked this was reality...and she hadn't slept in like three days so there was no way this was a dream! Then, then something had to be wrong. Something had to be up. Was this a plot, were the vampires tricking her!? There was just know why this was for her sake! A vampire would attack a hunter, not save one!
And when she thought things couldn't get any weirder, out came that little blonde vampire who knew Casper's trick.
Now this had to be some scheme! This just couldn't be!
The elder vampire, who now wasn't doing so well, got up groggily and barred his fangs at Casper.
Sarah looked over at Chris through her peripheral vision and noticed...his vampire was gone.
that meant he was attacking somewhere!

Casper was thinking a mile a minute now. This was, this was his troop! It wasn't just some random group of hunters, these two were the people he had hand picked, the people he had trained and spent years with. That was Chris, his Chris...and that was Sarah! Sarah for Christ's sake!
It was all sinking in but at the same time Casper was only focused on protecting the people near him.
The elder vampire barred his fangs at him and Casper already knew something wasn't quite right.
Wasn't there another vampire around? Of course there was.
Casper reached his left arm out and had grabbed the younger vampire's shirt. The man growled and lifted his arms to go after Casper's head...but that was so predictable Casper was already ducking. He knew for a fact the elder vampire was coming for him at the front...but wait, wasn't Luna at his front?
He had to protect her also!
In a flash Casper grabbed the back of Luna's shirt and forced her behind him. The elder vampire was there in a second but Casper, who was literally the best at his job...and now more powerful than ever, had a plan. He arched his back so far his head was parallel to his hips and trusted the younger vampire in a half circe in front of his body to smack into the older vampire. Because the younger vampire was already attack who was supposed to be Casper, he ended up sliding his hand through his sire's neck till the 800 year old vampire's head rolled off to the side and hung loosely while his esophagus, now exposed, spurted blood.
Not leaving so much as a second to breath, Casper spun both himself and his young opponent around and managed to get his arm around this vampire's neck.
Casper lifted his knee into the man's...junk, and in the shock the young vampire threw his head up.
Casper used the opportunity and squeezed so hard on the vampire's neck, his head popped right off like a pez disperser.
Two vampire, maybe four six seconds.
Casper dropped the body and surveyed the scene for any more vampires.

Luna's eyes went wide, she had been expecting to be the target of one of the hunters, not another vampire! She growled, then she found herself being pulled behind Casper. Very much too close to that female hunter. And frankly, Luna was just freaked out in general.
She stood, now between Casper and the hunters, which was ok with her actually. That was why she had shown herself in the first place, to try to at least protect Casper. And although Casper seemed perfectly capable of taking care of his self, Luna knew that there was a reason he had stepped in, and if this little group decided to attack him, she wasn't sure if he would fight back. Something told her that this was his old group, or something like that, she didn't know much about the ways of vampire hunters. But he obviously knew these people with how viciously he had reacted to them being attacked.

And despite this vampire saving their asses, Sarah was just unnerved. If anything she was even more afraid than ever before. Now she knew she couldn't just do what she normally did because this vampire obviously didn't fight like the others. And if he took down two vampires in like five seconds, how powerful was he!?
Was he an ancient!? If so they were definitely ********! Sarah's hand automatically went for the poison darts by her side.
That blonde girl was here too. Wait...wait! The blonde girl was that girl from the ally. She was around the park. The homeless man said a young pretty short vampire girl had killed that man with, with a newborn!
Was this guy, her newborn!?
Holy s**t Sarah did not like this!
"Stay back! Don't think I'd be dumb enough to think you were saving us!"
Maybe they had some beef with troop 9, or hunters in general, or maybe it was something to do with Casper.
They always got s**t because everyone hated Casper! Maybe they were here to pick off anyone associated with Casper! This girl knew his move dammit! Something was definitely up!
They could attack at any moment and Sarah didn't know if they could defeat this guy...or this girl, without Casper!
Chris came up next to Sarah a little stunned.

For a second there, Casper had really thought he was a hunter again. He thought he had a beating heart, had a pulse, lived in Queens with his grandmother and went to work everyday with these people. He had felt better, had felt like everything had been lifted off of him, the weight had all been lifted.
You know what wasn't fair, what jut really wasn't fair? It just, it wasn't real. He wasn't a hunter, and Sarah reminded him just what she was when she exploded in fear and caution.
And that, that was the harshest reality check of all wasn't it? Sarah, who meant more to him than blood, was telling him to stay back. She was doubting him. Boy did that hurt. It sort of felt, sort of felt like he had vomited...on his insides. He knew she was scared, knew she was probably trying to think of how she could probably get out of this alive, and he knew, knew that it was him she was scared of.
He knew she'd lunge to the side then use her leg to knock him off balance while Chris stuck him with the needle. It was that or a solo job where she lunged, then jumped off his head and flipped over him and suck him in the air.
Casper knew everything they'd pull out, but if they did it, he also knew he'd just take it.
Because these were his people, they were more than his people too. He trained them, taught them the basis of their lives.
How could he fight them?
It was the harshest reality ever. He wasn't, he wasn't Casper St. Clair anymore. He couldn't even show them his face.
Casper, in a moment of desperation just said it, "Let's go!".
He sounded pained, he sounded defeated, but he also sounded authoritative. He leapt off the building and onto the roof top with expectations of Luna following him. He was going back to her house, back to his house at this point and he was getting there fast.

Luna looked at the hunter, then at Casper, then at the one who had walked up next to the chick. Then back at Casper, who was now obviously very distressed.
Sigh, this was going to put him even further on his suicidal spiral and she was already at the point where she didn't know if she could help him. She looked up as he lept up onto the rooftop and called for her to go. But she couldn't follow him, not with those hunter's around, and certainly not back to her house. She looked back up at the roof tops once before walking backwards out of the ally, frowning at the hunters. She locked her gaze with the female, green eyes meeting green. "He was only trying to help." she said softly, almost sadly, before turning and jogging easily out of the ally. She was hoping they would follow her, that way she could lead them away from the house, as long as they didn't get her with one of those darts she would be fine.

You know protocol usually meant hunting down a vampire till you killed it, today, Sarah didn't know if she was up for that. The blonde vampire was backing up from them and Sarah just stared in front of herself mesmerized by what was happening.
No attack on them no nothing. He had saved her life! Saved her! Not even that blonde, who they had attacked in the past, had attacked!
They had been saved! It just didn't add up!
Chris turned to her.
"Should we go after them?"
"No-no." He said shaking her head. "Something, something is not right." She said trembling. "Something isn't right!"
And why? Well because Sarah was afraid she was figuring it out.
She didn't like her conclusions.

Luna heard the question, and she heard the answer. And she was pretty sure that they weren't going to follow her or Casper, so she looped around from the course she had been taking and made a beeline for the condo. She didn't want Casper killing himself in the time it took her to get home. But... she sighed as she ran. It... this was a big blow for him, everything he had been... The people he had cared about now loathed and feared him. And she knew from watching his self destruction, and how he hated himself, that no matter what he did the chances of his friends ever seeing him as anything but a threat to eliminate was slim.
Even worse was that girl, Luna may have been innocent but she wasn't naive and she knew that girl had been more than a friend to Casper... well as close as anyone could get according to him. Because apparently he hadn't had time for love. It made her feel bitter inside, jealous. She had been stupid to ever think that taking Casper in would fill the hole, would give her someone to love, someone to love her back. That was all she had ever been looking for really, revenge and love.
And even though she could deny it, even though it would never be returned, she loved him. she loved him in the way a mother would a child, and in a way that was the role she had played, taking care and looking after him, maybe it was more than just motherly feelings.....
At least she could fulfill the first part of her mission in life, she could take the life of Theron Devonshire, avenger her daughter and then... who knew. She would continue to care for Casper for as long as he allowed it, or until he succeeded in one of his suicide attempts. But she knew that as much as Casper hated it, she would loath it more, in her secret heart she would hate it, hate her feelings not being returned, hate what she had become and wonder again if this was her punishment for her existence.
She paid no attention to where she was going, she didn't watch to see if she was being followed, she just mindlessly ran back to the house, and mindlessly walked up the stairs, and just as mindlessly walked past Casper to open the door. She knew she had to get a grip and tend to Casper though and shook the thoughts from her head and sighed, looking back as she walked through the door to give him a reassuring smile.

More than anything, Casper hated feeling lonely. It was the most degenerating sensation of all. when you were lonely, it just didn't feel like anyone could help. When you were lonely, you were trapped. When you were lonely, nothing was okay until you relied on people, and Casper personally, liked relying on himself.
He saw Luna go in and he figured he'd go in too. He'd probably just mope around of like, lie down, something, but at least he'd be inside where he knew people wouldn't just pop in and make everything worse.
He made his way into the condo, and once inside, was grief struck. Something about being here made everything worse.
He didn't want to cry though, well his body did but his mind sure as hell didn't. Casper didn't look good, not at all. He looked a little like the ghost he was named after to say the least.
He didn't like talking about what he felt. He didn't like letting people in and he didn't like depending on anyone, but he was so lonely.
"Luna," he said barely audible, "Luna can you," how was he supposed to ask this?
"I'm so lonely." He whispered running his hands down the sides of his face.

Luna walked into the house, peeling off her coat and hanging it on the hook. Her selfish thoughts mocked her and she brushed them aside to the back of her mind where they would bother her later... but not now. For now she could be the good caretaker she was supposed to be and look after Casper instead of her own selfish interests. She turned when he said her name and frowned at the look on his face. He seemed.. well she didn't even have to guess at how he seemed, obviously he felt like crap and now.. She didn't even know what he wanted, he didn't finish his sentence, only finishing with a heartbreaking sentence that made Luna feel like a traitor for thinking of her own problems. She walked up to him, pulling him into a hug as she did her best to comfort him. "I'm here to help Casper." she said softly and did her best to "hold" him, although him being a foot taller than her didn't help at all. She didn't know what to do "Just tell me how I can help." Yeah, did he want to talk? did he want to be left alone? Did he want her to help him off himself (which she would never do) she tried and tried but she couldn't help without some sort of guidance as to what he wanted.

She hugged him, and Casper thought, maybe that was what he needed. Not a hug, but just contact. He needed physical reassurance that he wasn't just wandering by himself void of everything he ever had and everyone.
But, he didn't like asking people for things. He liked telling people what to do, he liked demanding things, but he knew he had to ask Luna for this.
"Can we," She liked to cuddle didn't she? Maybe that's what he needed, that was contact, wasn't it? "can we go to bed...please?"
