Sheryl almost seemed to stir, she was already unconscious, still groaning a little as she heard him in some distant part of her mind. One of the smaller cuts was already healed, but everything else would take a long time. Mainly her side and her crushed leg. Damn, this girl seemed to have control over death. s**t. Taking a deep breath, she held up her hands a little as if to surrender. "Ranka, please. You know how grave of a position your sister is in. I won't harm her in any way. I've been doing my job for many years. You did a good job bandaging her wounds on her legs, but her fingers need to be-" It wasn't long before the spirits were now visible to everyone, screams echoing around the cafeteria from a few. They wouldn't harm the students, but they were obviously agitated. "I have taken care of her for the past four centuries. And you think you can do better? You are a fool. I told you, no. Why can't you understand that human?" She stated, the glow from her seal sneaking out through places in her eye patch. "What you can do is this. Leave. Us. Alone." As if to emphasize her words, there was a rumble that they could feel that only lasted a couple of seconds, an almost visible aura forming around her. It almost seemed to be comprised of tortured beings, her silvery white hair rippling on it's own though there was no breeze.

Despite only trying to do her job, this nurse was only going to make things worse. Couldn't she see that Ranka would refuse to move? Nurse or not, she was only trying to do her job. That being said, Seiji could see that in time Sheryl would be able to heal her wounds. She still looked terrible, but for some reason looked a bit better to him. Was her body healing itself without her having to do so? She truely was amazing. If it were him, he was sure he would have passed away by now. He didn't dare touch her. At first he had felt the impulse to touch her, to take her hand in some form of comfort as he had Ranka. But the longer the kneeled there the more he told himself to fight that urge. She needed to focus on herself, not be distracted by someone like him.
Seiji's eyes were torn from Sheryl once more when Ranka's anger seemed to take a visible form now within the spirits. The Psyharden watched as the spirits floated about the room, their ghastly forms startling him slightly. It seemed he wasn't the only one as a few of the students cried out and tried to move aside when any of the spirits came close to them. This was quickly becoming a hazardous place to be. By now Seiji was really hoping the nurse would get the picture and just leave them alone. Taking once last glance to Sheryl, Seiji sighed lightly and rose to his feet. As he looked about, it didn't seem as if any of the students dared to come any closer. In fact, it was quite the opposite. They seemed to push further and further away, he was a bit surprised they hadn't started moving outside.
That was good. It meant he wouldn't have to deal with any of them. His mind instantly moved to Ranka and the nurse next. Upon feeling the rumble, Seiji felt an uneasiness in his stomach. This nurse needed to just walk away, for the sake of all of them. Turning on his heel, Seiji brushed the hair from his eyes and watched the two for a moment. It was apparent that he would have to step in now, less Ranka's anger turn to something more physical. Taking a few steps toward the girl, Seiji simply hoped that she wouldn't take him to be an attacker. "Ranka." He said quietly as he reached her.
Just the stares from the other students seemed to question his sanity. He couldn't help but look to a few of them as he approached the twin. As he reached her, he lifted his arms, gently placing his hands upon her shoulders. "Ranka. I promise I won't let anyone else go near Sheryl." Instinctively, one hand slid down along her arm, searching out her hand. "Just calm down. They only wish the best for her. The nurse bears no ill will." Seiji tilted his head closer to Ranka's, now whispering his words into her ear. "Come." Seiji's hand finally found hers taking it lightly, he let his fingers close around the pale girl's, his thumb running across the back of her hand as he had done before. "Let me speak her with, I'll handle it."

As a telekinetic grab tugged at her arm, a spirit came over and was about to attack the nurse when she felt a hand on her shoulder. It hung there for a moment, a voice. Seiji. The spirit flew away and vanished from sight along with the others, herself remaining very very still. It was like she was staring down this nurse, and it was the staff member who gave. She held up her hands and took a couple of steps back, allowing the boy to speak with her.
The aura hadn't left her, not until she felt his hand slide down her arm. It was as if she were startled out of a trance, blinking twice, her gaze lowering as her head tilted in the direction of his voice. Glancing around, she could feel the lingering echoes of the spirits, some cries still ringing in her mind. What had she done? She could feel his breath on her neck from him speaking, blushing faintly as she bowed her head, soon feeling the warmth of his hand. She had seriously messed up. Would the Elder's be furious with her? She couldn't think about them, she could feel his thumb stroking her skin and it did soothe her.
Ranka was silent for a moment, trembling in the slightest, her skin colder than before. "I.... I'm sorry." She whispered, shame washing over her. She knew this emotion very well. Guilt was another. In some other part of her mind she was wondering how he soothed her so, why he could have the same effect as Sheryl. Yet... different. She bowed a little to the nurse, her hand giving his a faint squeeze, turning to face away from everyone. She started to raise her eye to look at him, but she ended up stopping as her eye grew level to his shoulder. Her own brushed against his gently as she walked past to crouch down by Sheryl, her hand slowly sliding from his.
All those eyes.... she felt how they burned into her back. She almost caused that stampede that she and Seiji agreed would be disastrous. Her back seemed somehow small, her hands moving to reset her sisters fingers, glancing to the burns on her other hand. She saw the skin knitting very slowly together, new sinews growing and connecting. She could only imagine how Sheryl would look at her. The Elder's words lingered in her mind, now holding a better understanding for their reason. There was a strange sensation in her eyes, like they were too wet, moisture was gathering. What was this? A tear rolled down her cheek and splashed onto Sheryl's hand, noticing how it sizzled on her skin a little and was gone. Eda had been more than ready to knock out the girl if she went much further since she was now a hazard to everyone there. Not the best way to think of it, but it was true. The students were in potential danger. She watched the boy as he took care of this girl, noticing that blush on her cheeks before her face became cast in shadow from her hair. Administering a slight telepathic sedative, everyone calmed down and grew quiet. For herself, she turned towards Tsuki by the front door, noticing the odd expression she was wearing. Hmm... she'd have to speak to her another time.
She heard the girl speak and then observed her turn away, her eyes a little sad. Ranka just cared for her sister, she couldn't blame her for that. But she knew she could also help the girl heal faster. Am I being arrogant? This was always a question she asked herself when she ran into students who should have seeked out her help but didn't. "Forgive me if I pressed too hard. I only want to do my job." She murmured, taking a little liberty to snatch away the memory of this happening from the minds of all the students but those three. She replaced it easily with a fake one of how they just stood around and spoke with each other, glad to see that they all stopped staring at this spectacle.

Seiji was thankful he'd been able to grab Ranka's attention. He was even more thankful she hadn't mistaken him for another student or teacher trying to subdue her. He could only imagine what she might have done to him if things had turned out another way. He watched as she slowly pulled away, heading back to Sheryl, their hands coming apart. His eyes stayed upon Ranka until she reached her sister. Things seemed to calm down now. That was a relief. He couldn't really blame Ranka for acting as she had, he knew what it was like to care for someone. He didn't have any siblings, but he knew the feeling. He'd have to console her later. He was sure she'd have some questions as well.
As his eyes left the twins, he looked about, noticing some of the students were still watching, but most seemed to be going about their business. Though close enough seemed interested in the twins, obviously still curious as to what had happened to Sheryl, stare as they might they'd get no answers. Seiji sighed, his grey eyes sweeping across the crowd to the nurse, wondering what she might have to say about the whole ordeal. When she spoke, Seiji nodded in short reply. That was only natural. "Of course. I'm sure you meant no harm." Being a nurse meant looking after others. It was easy to want to help, but as they'd all seen, sometimes it wasn't so easy to accept that help.
"I'm sorry for any trouble. She's only worried for her sister." Seiji turned slightly to watch the twins for a moment. "I'll try to keep her calm from her on out. Um...thank you for the offer. I'm sure were she concious Sheryl would appreciate it. As it stands...I think it's better that you leave them be for now. If that's alright. Despite the injuries, she'll be alright. Maybe when she comes to we can call for your help." He pulled his eyes from them and turned to face the nurse. "Until then...well, I guess we wait around. Again, sorry for any trouble."

Eda sighed, folding her arms over her chest as she glanced to a student that tugged at her arm. She nodded to them once, her brown eyes resting on the boy again. Sighing, she shrugged and threw her hands in the air, almost appearing indifferent. "Meh, what trouble? Students seem calm now. And I can see when I've lost a battle. Just don't let them get into too much trouble cutie. If they need something let me know." Smirking, she winked, turning to go deal with some other students problems. Ranka shushed Sheryl softly, hearing her attempt to speak as she regained some kind of consciousness, knowing it would only be temporary. "Shhhh.... Just focus on healing yourself. I don't want them to have to make a replacement sister." She murmured, not moving as she just sat there and watched the slow but steady progress her sister was making. She could hear Seiji was speaking to the nurse, not looking up to him as it seemed like they were done.
She had stepped very close to overstepping her boundaries, hell she probably would have ended up punished for attacking the teacher if he hadn't stopped her. Brushing her silvery white hair aside, she almost seemed to have reverted back a bit to how she used to be, more quiet and even harder to read. Maybe she should have answered yes when the Elders asked if she wanted to purge her emotions or not.... Shaking her head, she touched where that moisture had fallen, another tear rolling down her cheek. Wiping it away, she looked at her fingers in puzzlement amidst other emotions. Standing slowly, she still faced the wall, smoothing out some of her sisters hair carefully.

ShadowLadyRaven Vira blinked as Jareth suddenly rode up, her golden eyes following him for a moment. Though she was antsy... so antsy...... Hearing what he said, she smiled, a little surprised to hear him praise her so. True, she was still going to be beneath him, but he still had praised her.
The feeling didn't last long, her brows furrowing. "Here, I can escape faster from attacking someone." She stopped and almost froze once she said the word 'dying.' "I WOULD NOT KILL THEM!!" She shouted, honestly really pissed to hear that. A strong wind whipped around them, the ice dome she made over the mermaids crackling a little as it spiked outward, avoiding hurting the mermaids. "Elly, you aren't listening. He can't soothe them! No one can!" But her words were lost upon deaf ears, looking up at the explosion.
Watching, Vira narrowed her eyes, tensing up as she held out her hands, her two swords reforming as the sprites on her shoulders flew into range of them. Gripping the handles, she watched for the moment, blinking at the fact Atlas had gone down. Joy. The bubbly exterior was now gone, the street smart girl coming through.
Once he gripped Elly, she gritted her teeth, resisting the urge to leap forward. If this guy could take down Atlas, what hope did they hold? Focusing on the water in the ground, she made it seem as if she were fixing her grip on it and tilted it up a bit. Water suddenly rose up around his ankles and froze in a thick sheet, an added wind sucking his feet downward so it would be harder for him to lift them or move. (( It wouldn't affect whats going on with you and Vira and Jareth down at the lake. This would be the last relevant thing. Jareth is also there, but misswho hasn't posted recently. ))

It did seem odd that the students weren't in a panic. Now as he looked about, everyone seemed to appear as if nothing had happened. In fact, asides from one or two people watching they were almost being ignored. Even from those looking on, he couldn't see any fear in them. the whole crowd seemed calm. Had something happened? Looking back to the nurse, Seiji began to wonder, had she maybe done something? At as slight loss for words, Seiji bowed as the nurse spoke. "Erm. Of course. Thank you."
Watching her go, Seiji looked about the students once more. Something must have happened. They were all acting as if nothing at all had happened. Only those observing Sheryl's wounds seemed to care, and even they weren't staring at Ranka. Seiji wouldn't ask questions. Just one more thing to be thankful for. Better than dealing with any of the trouble it might have brought. Heading back towards the twins, Seiji slowed his pace as he neared. Just looking to Ranka's form, he could tell something was up.
"The nurse said to ask if we need anything.." Seiji said calmly, his eyes upon Sheryl for the moment. Although she didn't really look an better off, she did seem like she was in less pain somehow. He couldn't imagine having to go through such a thing. Turning his eyes to Ranka, Seiji waited a moment before speaking. "...Are you alright? Ranka?"

At the very least Sheryl looked a little less discheveled with her hair, but Ranka straightened up slowly as she brushed that last hair aside. Although she heard him, she didn't immediately react, finally nodding once. Touching a finger to Sheryl's lips, her sister slipped back into unconsciousness, causing a brief grimace to pass over her lips.
He spoke her name. She didn't move. She should move, he addressed her. She should speak. Why couldn't she speak? "Was that anger I was demonstrating earlier?" She asked quietly, not answering his question, nor did she turn to look at him. Why couldn't she look at him? He was non-judgemental right? Logically, she shouldn't have a problem. What was she afraid of? Her hands were still trembling, her eyes staring down at the moisture that was drying upon her fingertips. Face him Ranka. She didn't move. The Elder's voices were ringing in her ears. Shut up. Shut up. SHUT UP! Her one hand had clenched into a fist, a few more tears falling. Face him dammit. She couldn't do it..... and she didn't understand why.

A question...well, Seiji had to admit he knew it was coming. He just didn't expect it so soon. Better to just answer her rather than dancing around the question. Though she seemed a little colder at the moment. She stayed almost perfectly still. "...Yeah. That would be anger. But it's not out of the ordinary. Especially under the circumstances. Protecting the ones you care about is perfectly fine." It was only natural that Ranka wanted to protect her sister. It was a sign of love. Seiji was about to go on further until he noticed her tense up.
The fist, the lowered eyes. She almost looked angry still. Or perhaps it was something else. Taking a step closer, Seiji looked over the girl, still saying nothing. Were those...tears? Was Ranka crying? This whole ordeal must have been pretty taxing on her. So many emotions involved now, she must be confused. "Ranka.." Seiji said solemnly. "Ranka, it's alright to feel scared, or sad or angry. It's all a part of having emotions. Whether or not you understand them...doesn't mean they aren't there."
Seiji took another step forward, his eyes still upon her, moving closer to her now. "You don't have to understand any of it right now." He let his hand drift forward, touching her chin ever so gently. "If you want to talk about it later that's fine. I'll try and teach you anything you want to know." Lifting slowly, Seiji raised his hand, along with her chin to tilt her face upward. As her tears came into his view, Seiji couldn't help but notice how human this all seemed. "Are you okay, Ranka?" Seiji asked, repeating his earlier question.

Another emotion she knew now. Protecting the ones you care about..... A memory suddenly washed over her, but she didn't know from where. A mans face.... older time period... a castle? Whispered words... She shuddered as more tears fell. What in the world was going on?
He said her name again. She turned her head the slightest bit in his direction behind her, wiping away these bits of moisture from her face. Was it? Was it really ok for her to? Her voice was caught in her throat, almost opening her mouth to speak, but she didn't. She was simply trying to figure out each one, only able to pick out three she knew. Fear, shame, and guilt. Taking a deep breath, she exhaled slowly, her breath shuddering. Calm down.
At the touch, she seemed to startle. But this forced her to look at him, slowly raising her eye up to look at him. He wasn't judging her. He was the same. The memory flashed again. When was that?! More tears were falling. Focus on his face... She did, her crimson orb resting upon him. Her cheeks flushed, too many emotions... there were too many at once.
"I am.... ashamed of my display. I am guilty for the same reason. I.... I am afraid... I don't know why... You don't judge, and yet I am afraid. Why?" She whispered, her brows furrowing a little. She tried again to wipe away the tears, taking another deep breath. "What are these? This moisture? Why do they fall? Why does my chest feel warm and heavy at the same time?" The mans face in the memory has drawn close.... The Elder's are shouting at the person the memory must belong to... She screams something out. "M...memories... I don't know who they belong to..." Her gaze had grown briefly distant, refocusing as she tilted her head a bit in his hand. "What is going on with me Seiji? I don't.... I don't understand any of it."

Just looking at her face, Seiji could tell that there was so much emotion flowing through her. It was almost like that instant caused a rush of emotion to flow through her. Well, she had been sent here to learn and experience. This was definitely going to be a learning experience for her. That much was certain.
When their eyes finally met, Seiji wasn't quite sure what she was feeling. Her eye suggested so many things, but it would be hard to say. Especially with her tears falling. Sadness, that much was obvious from her tears. Sadness of some sort, that was usually why people cried. When she finally spoke, Seiji listened, trying to take it all in. He could have guessed at these emotions. A display such as this was probably something she never would have thought of doing. So, which question to start with?
Some emotions it was hard to explain. Some things he had never experienced, so it would be hard for him to give a clear answer. Better off to start with the things he knew for sure. "You're crying." He answered. "That's what these are, tears." Seiji reached up, wiping away a tear with his finger. "It's what humans do when they're sad. Or sometimes angry. It's like....a physical sign of sadness. Sometimes it can make you feel better." That would probably make no sense to her. But he was trying. So, what about her other questions?
"..Your chest..." Seiji started glancing slightly, not really meaning to. The movement had been more out of reaction than anything. Though having little knowledge on such things, Seiji was hoping she wouldn't take note. Anyone else probably would have seen the glance as a perverted act. "I can't really be sure...some things are hard to explain. Grief perhaps....part of it. Feeling a heavy heart might mean also feeling useless. Unable to do something. Warmth is usually a good thing though. So, maybe you're also feeling...some sort of happiness in this troubled time."
It was even a little confusing to him. He was trying his best to filter through the emotions he'd felt and match up with her description. "You said ashamed and guilty. Sometimes we feel these things because of our actions. Or sometimes, maybe because we let someone see a part of us we didn't want them to." Everyone had their secrets. Sometimes those secrets were more about keeping a side of them hidden rather than something that happened. "The rest....I don't really know. The memories I can't help with. But I can assure you Ranka, you have nothing to be afraid of." He let his hand lower from her face and curled around her fist, just holding it. "We don't always have to understand everything we feel."

Crying? Ranka tried to remember times between her and her sister and neither had ever cried. Not even when they were punished or pushed really hard by the Elders during training. She felt her cheeks flush as he wiped away her tears, not understanding why. There, the warmth was soon followed by the weight. Were they connected?
Pushing away what she didn't understand, she focused as much as she could upon what he was saying. It was a way to distract herself from the overwhelming amount of emotions that had attacked her at once. Sadness.... anger... alright. Physiological reaction to the two of them. She nodded once, "These are for... sadness I think. Pain? But I am not physically hurt." She murmured, both thinking aloud and showing him she did understand.
Blinking when he glanced down, she noticed how he had stopped himself and she wondered why. No. No more questions. She had to calm down. She had to learn so she could calm down. "Grief. A multi-faceted response to loss, particularly to the loss of someone or something to which a bond was formed." She recited the definition she had been taught, trying to understand what he was saying. Uselessness. She remembered one spirit asking for help she couldn't give. She felt a slight weight then. She equated the two. But grief.... she had no idea what connection it held to her. Why she was feeling it. Was it the memory? It flashed again, hearing the scream again in her head. She couldn't make out any words, but she felt that sense of weight grow a lot. Was the woman grieving? For the man? She didn't understand....
The warmth was happiness. Right. She understood that one, maybe not all the reasons why but she understood what it was. Nodding once, she took another deep breath and seemed calmer, the tears finally stopped. Her eye-patch was now wet, pulling it off of her head which caused her hair to fall in front of her face more. Gathering it behind her ear, she stuffed the patch into a pocket, raising her eyes up to him. Her odd eyes. Yes, she knew shame and guilt quite well. Sheryl had helped her learn those. Some part they didn't want someone to see.... Ah. Logical reaction; she hadn't wanted him to see her like that. She hadn't wanted anyone to. Not anyone but Sheryl.
She had nothing to fear.... the memory made her feel afraid. Apprehensive even. But for what she didn't know. It was obviously trying to tell her of something, maybe even warn her. But she only got bits and pieces. She lowered her gaze as his hand took hers, the warmth taking over her chest some of the puzzlement and overwhelming sensation leaving her. "You don't?" She paused, the milkiness of her one eye almost throwing off her features. Like a doll whose one eye was scratched or something. "No... I can see why. So many at once.... Overloads the senses. How do you handle it?" She said softly, uncurling her fist to hold his hand, the trembling in her own almost entirely gone. It still wasn't fully though. The memory was gone, floating to the back of her mind where it must have come from. It still worried her though, but for now she just needed to remain calm. She didn't want to end up causing another scene.

There was so much that he could go into depth with. Emotions were such an involved topic. But he didn't mind talking about it all. In fact, he seemed to enjoy it. He was not only helping Ranka learn, at the same time he was also learning more about her in a way. Having a situation just like this, it was natural for her to feel so many different emotions. It seemed like more recently she was perceptive to such things. He'd simply have to try and help her deal with it all.
"Tears aren't always associated with physical pain. Sometimes it's attached to emotional pain as well. Emotions are complicated things, as I'm sure you can see." In thought it all seemed to easy to explain. Sadness is this, happiness is this. Actually finding the words was different. He felt like he was doing a good job so far. Ranka seemed satisfied with his explanations. She hadn't voice any complaints or concerns. then again, she might not know how. If she had any other questions he was sure she would ask.
It was strange to think that he'd grown so close to Ranka in such a short amount of time. A week ago, he didn't even know the girl existed. Now, look at them. It was almost sort of funny. Gazing into her eyes, Seiji had to wonder how this must be on her end of things. Not knowing some emotions, or being confused about it. A lot of what he was doing and trying to say would probably seem confusing. Still, if it helped comfort her then all the better.
Seiji laughed lightly, his lips curling into a smile at her lastest question. She probably didn't understand the humor in her question. Maybe someday she would. Though feeling her hand unclench and take hold of his made Seiji's smile widen a little. She seemed to be in a better state now. That was good. "Usually just living." He replied. "Most people grow up with their emotions, learning as they do. Rather than learning bit by bit, and being bombarded with the emotions you must be feeling right now. But that's okay too. I said I would help you learn. So, part of that responsibility is to help you deal with it all too."

Ranka had to blink a couple of times since she did need to adjust being able to use both eyes as opposed to just one now. Cocking her head in the slightest, tears were also related to emotional pain? What was.... She paused in her thought process there, reviewing all of what she had just felt. Pain had been in there. She felt an almost coughing sort of sensation rise from her throat. Unbeknownst to her, it was a small laugh. It caused her to appear confused, her free hand touching her stomach. "Very complicated. What was that just now?" She asked, her hand now moving up to her throat.
He was laughing at something she had said, causing her to blink since she wasn't sure what she had said that was funny. She almost looked like a confused puppy as she tilted her head, one could imagine an ear flopping over as she did so. But she must have done something that made him smile more, the warmth returning in her chest. She thought over what he told her, briefly lowering her eyes, glancing to her sister. She was regaining some color slowly which was good. To hear him say part of what he felt he must do was help her deal, the warmth intensified more. "I am glad to have your help Seiji. It is a.... relief." She had to pause to think of the right word, now processing emotions that were tied with them.
And she really was. Part of her was happy that they had rushed to take care of things that night when they gave him directions. She remembered how Sheryl had pushed her forward, forcing her to interact with someone. Now they were holding hands and he was teaching her emotions. And she had a real friend. "The Elders once gave me a choice to purge my emotions and remain a... a.. I'm not sure what the correct term would be. Husk will do I suppose. Or, I could keep them and learn. I am glad I said no." She added in a softer voice, feeling her cheeks warm as a soft, rosy blush passed over her pale skin.
