SNPR 1: Are you sure that you can give both engine upgrades to the Eldar vehicles? I was under the impression that it was a "one or the other" sort of thing.
Shin: Not a bad looking list. Something as heavy as Biker Nobz at 1k scale are going to be scary.

HQ: Captain: Stormbolter, lightning claw, artificier 118pts Command Squad x5: Champion, Banner, 2x combi weapons(plas/melta), plasma pistol 180 pts Rhino: storm bolter 45 pts
Elites: Terminator Squad x5 Stormbolters 200 pts Dreadnaught: Multi-Melta and storm bolter 115 pts
Troops: Tactical squad x10: plasma pistol, Plasmagun, Multi-melta 195 pts Tactical squad x10: plasma pistol, Meltagun, Plasma Cannon 195 pts
Heavy Support: Devastator x10:missile, missile, Lascannon, Plasma cannon 180 pts Rhino: storm bolter 45pts Vindicator: dozer blade, storm bolter 120 pts
TOTAL POINTS: 1498
Rhinos can be moved to whatever squad need them at that coherent moment. Revised my list a bit. after seeking a ton of advice, on multiple sources. little too shooty for my taste, but seems versatile enough still. At least I will still have my heavy weapons after turn 2. The rhinos and vindicator had storm bolters regardless, but in previous list were to be unusable and only a decorative measure because I could not resist the appeal and look of said item. ninja Did rather like the assault squad..ah well. I can surely have multiple lists for multiple enemies. Shin: wheres your shoota for the Nob Bikers?... rofl but seriously, looks like a delicious list. Maybe if you got more bodies on the field somehow, the tau wouldn't be such a problem? Im finding with my tyranids I desperately need more bodies. have to assemble those bodies still is why...-_-

Caleidah My pitiful attempts at a 1000pt Tau list.
Shas’O + Bodyguard - 227 WS4 BS5 S5 T4 W4 I3 A4 Ld10 Sv3+/4+ Cyclic Ion Blaster – 18” S3 AP4 Assault 5 Missile Pod – 36” S7 AP4 Assault 2 Hard-Wired Multi-tracker (Shoot two weapons) Hard-Wired Target Lock (Shoot at two squads) Stimulant Injector (FNP) Shield Generator
Bodyguard WS3 BS4 S5 T4 W2 I3 A2 Ld8 Sv3+ Burst Cannon – 18” S5 AP5 Assault 3 Missile Pod – 36” S7 AP4 Assault 2 Hard-Wired Multi-tracker and Target Lock Targeting ArrayTarget Locks aren't necessary; this unit is built for infantry killing and there's no reason for them to split fire. As I mentioned in the other thread, I feel the CIB is inferior to a Plasma Rifle, but make of that what you will. Equip the Bodyguards slightly differently in order to play the wound allocation game. Caleidah 8xPathfinders and Devilfish – 221 WS2 BS3 S3 T3 W1 I2 A1 Ld7 Sv4+ 5x Markerlights 5x Pulse Carbines – 18” S5 AP5 Pinning 3x Rail Rifle w/ Target Lock – 36” S6 AP3 Heavy 1 Pinning
Devilfish BS3 AV12-11-10 Burst Cannon – 18” S5 AP5 Assault 3 Disruption Pod (enemies outside 12” count as obscured) Landing Gear Marker Beacon Sensor Spines
Gun Drones WS2 BS2 S3 T3 W1 I4 A1 Ld0 Sv4+ TL Pulse Carbines – 18” S5 AP5 Assault 1 Pinning Point sink. If you're going to drop the points for Pathfinders, don't ever take Rail Rifles. They're not that good, and the unit is going to be hammered from turn 1. I suggest taking Flechette Launchers. Caleidah 8xFire Warriors and Shas’ui – 110 WS2 BS3 S3 T3 W1 I2 A1 Ld7 Sv4+ (Shas’ui has +1 A and Ld) 9x Pulse Rifle – 30” S5 AP5 Rapid Markerlight – 30”
Fire Warriors and Shas’ui – 110 WS2 BS3 S3 T3 W1 I2 A1 Ld7 Sv4+ (Shas’ui has +1 A and Ld) 9x Pulse Rifle – 30” S5 AP5 Rapid Markerlight – 30” Weird size; make these even numbers, and lose the Markerlight on one squad, as it's probably going to steal the Pathfinder's DF the first chance it gets. Caleidah Weird size; make this an even number.11xKroot – 77 WS4 BS3 S4 T3 W1 I3 A1/2 Ld7 Sv- 11x Kroot Rifle – 24” S4 AP6 Rapid
11xKroot – 77 WS4 BS3 S4 T3 W1 I3 A1/2 Ld7 Sv- 11x Kroot Rifle – 24” S4 AP6 RapidWeird sizes again. Shaper would be good, purely for the Ld, as Kroot run pretty easily. Caleidah Hammerhead – 180 BS4 AV13-12-10 Railgun – 72” S10 AP1 Heavy 1 / 72” S6 AP4 Heavy 1 Large Blast 2x Burst Cannons – 18” S5 AP5 Assault 3 (Fire Independently) Disruption Pod (Enemies outside 12” treat as obscured) Landing Gear Multi-Tracker (Fire as if Fast) Sensor Spines Target Lock Targeting ArrayNot bad, consider Flechette Launchers to cover your precious AV10 rear. I think this list is mostly okay. The major point is that the 200~ish points you have in Fast Attack are your least useful units, and you'd probably do better with swapping those for a Broadside and a couple Crisis suits. I'm also not seeing alot to deal with heavy infantry; termies can ruin your day with this list.

SNPR 01 HQ Autarch 140 pts Eldar Jetbike Laser Lance Fusion Gun Madiblasters I run an Eldar HQ very similar to this, but I don't like Laser Lances because they're very expensive and only impact the first round of combat. The fusion gun is worth it's weight in gold, so keep that. SNPR 01 Elites Firedragons 136 pts 6 Models Exarch Fire Pike Crackshot Tank Hunters Excessively upgraded. You're paying 136 points for 6 models where 160 points could get you a full 10. Tank Hunters is rarely necessary with the kind of penetrating power you've got, and I honestly don't think Crack Shot is worth the points (how often are you going to fail to wound with S8?). SNPR 01 Troops Guardian Jetbike Squadron 195 pts 6 models Warlock Conceal Singing Spear The strength of Jetbikes is their ability to carry shuriken cannons, and their ability to distract fire. Also, Conceal isn't that useful for that squad, when you've got 3+ saves and the turboboost ability to make it temporarily invulnerable. I'd honestly run these as two separate squads of 3 with a cannon each. SNPR 01 Dire Avengers 159 pts Wave Serpent Transport 160 pts 10 Models Twin-Linked Scatter Laser Exarch Vectored Engines 2 x Shruiken Catapults Star Engines Bladestorm Glad you caught onto the strength of Dire Avengers in laying down fire. However, you're losing points again where you don't need to. First of all, you miscounted; the squad is 152 pts, not 159. You also have 60 points of gear on the Wave Serpent that you don't need. Vectored engines are unecessary in 5th edition since skimmers only crash going flat-out. Second of all, take Shuriken Cannons, not Scatter Lasers. Significantly cheaper, and just one shot less. You don't need to worry about range; you're bringing your warriors to the front anyway. SNPR 01 Fast Attack Vyper Squadron 285 pts 3 Models 3 x Scatter Lasers Vecotred Engines Star Engines This has got to be the entry I most insist on either modifying or getting rid of. Again with the vectored engines, and the star engines, while somewhat useful, will be rarely used. Also, you're paying almost 300 points for a squad that can only lay out 12 shots a turn. If you want gun support, get Warwalkers with Shuriken Cannons; for 45 points less, you can get 12 Shuriken -cannons- into play, that's 36 shots, but the Vypers are a damn point-sink. SNPR 01 Heavy Attack Falcon 205 pts Missile Launcher Vector Engines Star Engines Holo-Fields I admire the prospect of the hard-to-kill tank, but you're going points-heavy again. You can get a great gunship with 130 points; two shuriken cannons and the pulse cannon. Vector engines are obsolete, and star engines are purpose-defeating; you'll never get shots off if you use them, and you'll waste the points of the upgrade if you don't. SNPR 01 Falcon 215 pts Brightlance Vectored Engines Star Engines Holo-Fields Same as last. SNPR 01 Total Points - 1490 23 Models 6 Vehicles Any Advice or suggestions welcome Alright, that said, here's my overall view. You're taking an army which can operate -very- efficiently with minimal special equipment and over-ladening it with the upgrades. Think about what you want units for, and how you can get it for less, and you'll suddenly realize how much opportunity you have. My last Eldar 1500 army had 48 infantry and 7 vehicles. Things that look neat on the codex page can be a serious strain on your points; lean more towards leaving things fairly basic, and conserving points to put more guns on the field. If you're interested, you can PM me and I can send you a couple Eldar lists of mine, I've got dozens.
