It was quiet in the library, when the young mage entered. He was surprised Emma owned such a place--well, more the fact he had a friend with a library, than her owning a library. "Emma, um..." he looked around. "I said I'd stop by, remember? Is this a good time? I have a few questions and.." Emma would know the rest. Drathi had been itnerested in meeting her husband for awhile now, especially since he heard he could freeze the planet.

Something flickered in the darkness, and a wispy shape emerged from one of the shelves. A humanoid form made from violet and blue magics, looking straight at Drathi. It spoke in a pleasant, androgynous tone. "Neither the Lord or Lady of the house is present at the moment. Might I be of assistance?"

"Well, Emma said that I was allowed to stop by to do some studying," Drathi said. "I was also hoping to meet her husband. I have four days, before I have to head to the artic for an errand, so I though of stopping by." Drathi tilted his head, intrigued by the magic shape before him. Cool...
"Do you know when they'll be back?"

"Unfortunately, I do not know. If it is of any comfort, neither do they." The construct drew closer, drifting a few inches above the rich hardwood floor. "If they are not back before you leave I will notify them of your visit."

"Thanks," Drathi replied with a nod. His mind went blank for a moment, before he realized something. "Wait! Do you know where I could read about how mana and the soul are connected, how emotions can affect magic, and perhaps something about Soul Water? I'm doing lots of research, you see."

"Just over here-"
The construct darted away into the shelves, returning with an armload of books bound in ancient leather. "These fit your criteria."

"Thanks," Drathi said as he took a few books off the shelf. They were very heavy and the mage nearly fell backwards from their weight. He found a table to sit at abd began to read, blocking out everything else.

Lightning poked her head into the library, amazed at its size. She didn't really know how she had happened upon the Bainbridge castle, but it made for a pretty fun little mini-adventure... much more spooky than her tiny home. She rapped on the stone wall with her knuckles, listening carefully for footsteps. "Anybody here?" she asked, her quivering voice echoing slightly.

Somebody poked their head around the door, but it wasn't Emma. A silver-haired man (seemingly) in his mid 50's, looked out at Lightning with piercing blue-green eyes that were weary from a long, long day of magic use.
"Yes?" His voice was low, extremely British, and lyrical.

"Lightning?" Drathi asked, looking up and around. He turned behind him and saw Lightning enter the Libary. He admitted, he was able to block things out, but it did not mean he hears nothing.

Lightning heaved a sigh of relief. There were people in here! "Hi, Drathi!" she said enthusiastically, waving. She then noticed the pile of books next to him, menacingly thick. Poor Drathi. Poor table. "Sorry for interrupting your reading," she said, turning to face the odd man. "Hello to you, too! I hope I'm not interrupting you as well, but I was wondering if you had any books on time travel? I didn't think I'd actually find a library here, but everything's worked out rather conveniently," rambled Lightning, assuming that the man lived there. "Oh, I almost forgot. I'm Lightning. Who are you?"

Drathi stood up and walked over to Lightning and thumd her head lightly with his staff. "Why're you so interested in such a dangerous thing?" he asked. "Time should not be tampered with, even if you go back one second in time." He looked back to his books and added, "Perhaps you should come with me and have a look at what I'm reading. I think you'll find it interesting."

The man spotted Drathi at the table. "Ah, you must be the ice mage Emma told me about. Pleasure to meet you, sir."
Turning back to Lightning, he bowed low and kissed her hand. "Hrothbert of Bainbridge, at your service."
He turned to the construct-caretaker, which gave a quick bow. "Section D, three aisles down, on the right."
The construct bowed. "At once, milord." With that, it vanished into the shelves once more.

"Owww," said Lightning, rubbing her head. "Fine, fine, I won't mess with the past. I guess I won't be learning about time travel after all," she said as she turned to the caretaker. Lightning then whirled around to face Drathi again. "So, what exactly are you reading up on?" she asked readily, walking over to the table. As a bit of childish revenge, she made sure to kindly elbow Drathi in the ribs, gently, of course.

"Yes, it's an honor to meet you, sir!" Drathi said holding out his hand. "I'm Drathi. Where's Emma?" The Ice Mage looked over to Lightning and smiled. "Sit with me. You'll like studying with me. It's just mainly a lot of how the soul is tied into mana manipulation. Discord explained some of it to me, and got me curious."
