Much as I love Zell, I'd have to go with Lee (I'm assuming no magic is to be used). Zell wouldn't be able to beat the whole Lotus thing.

Wow, um.....
Roy, at his fullest potential with an unfinished stone, can destroy entire city blocks, and so can Axel if he uses his life force and dies.
Axel can really manipulate fire as well as Roy, but Roy can banish Axel's Fire while Axel can't Stop explosions. Roy doesn't have any weapons to protect him from the Chakrams. Axel can also summon up some Nobodies, which Roy could dispatch easily, and cause Roy to fight others and be distracted.
All in all this match is pretty close....tie surprised

Kazuma Ishimaru Wow, um..... Roy, at his fullest potential with an unfinished stone, can destroy entire city blocks, and so can Axel if he uses his life force and dies. Axel can really manipulate fire as well as Roy, but Roy can banish Axel's Fire while Axel can't Stop explosions. Roy doesn't have any weapons to protect him from the Chakrams. However, Roy wouldn't use a stone, so that's out, and if Axel did that, he still wouldn't win, so if he was fighting for himself, he wouldn't do that either. Now, Roy may almost never use it, but he does have other kinds of alchemy at his disposal. However, he has to draw the array, thus giving Axel his sweet time, so he wouldn't do that. So pretty much, I think, it's Roy's fire versus Axel's fire, chakrams, and Nobodies. Now, while Roy could stop Axel's fire, he never does that kind of thing, and to do that, he'd have to get rid of all the oxygen in the air around him, so he could only do it for a few seconds at a time. ^^ Now, I don't think Roy could stop the chakrams, and while a few Nobodies aren't that big of a deal, if Axel summoned enough, it would at the very least distract Roy. So now, I think that judging by Roy's fight with Ed, he could probably get Axel right at the beginning, and despite everything else in favor of Axel, win right then, except... Axel is immune to fire. So sorry Roy, this is one of the best matches in the thread, but you lose.

I like that you pointed that Axel is Immune to fire.
Roy also has a Gun/Guns at his displosal. Even though he doesn't use them much....he still has them. So he does still have somewhat of a chance. Does't he?

I'm almost positive that he doesn't carry one around, though, so I don't think it counts.

Yeah Mustang couldn't do too much to Axel... since Axel is immune to fire... but disregarding that....(cuz we need something to really happen rather than: Mustang snaps his fingers... nothing happens... Axel Pwns him) I think it would be a really great fight and ultimately end up in a draw... or Axel winning. So I voted a draw... cuz even without his flame alchemy Mustang can fight really well. Just look how well he did against Pride at the end of the series and he was totally out matched!

totally spazed with glee when I saw you put it up!
ahem.
Anyways, I would have to say:
Axel all the way (and not just because I like him better X3)
1. Sure, Roy has guns. But, Axel can warp to any location he wants, therefore allowing fro bullet dodging.
2. Axel can summon fire and nobodies at a whim. Roy, he'd have to draw an array to transmute anything other than fire (which technically, Axel is immune to.) No clapping alchemy for you Mr. Mustang.
3. Fire immunities aside... Axel is so damn quick, he could probably get close enough to Roy to slash his gloves (and body parts o_o) with his chakrams before Roy really knew what was going on.
don't get me wrong, Roy kicks a**, but against Axel, I don't think he'd stand much chance.
