The fire alarm had caused a lot of panic for everyone inside the Pokemon Center and only now were people daring to go back inside as Kasiya walked slowly through the parking lot, keeping her eyes peeled for signs of anyone with red hair. Interestingly enough there were no redheads in sight, and she silently wondered how far Keegan could have gone in only a few short minutes. She began to walk along the sidewalk, feeling as though her heart was in her stomach, and she knew that feeling wouldn't go away until she found out for sure what had happened. I refuse to believe that Keegan would just up and attack someone out of the blue like that, there had to be some reason for it. She probably said something to him that set him off she thought, trying to rationalize things to herself as she walked. Though as luck would have it she happened to walk the complete opposite way Keegan had. After a few minutes she let Nova out of her Pokeball to walk alongside her, though the young Charmander decided that after two steps she wasn't walking anymore and stopped abruptly, holding out her arms to be picked up. "Oh fine," Kasiya sighed, rolling her eyes as she picked up the baby, though the tiny lizard climbed up onto her head to ride as Kasiya walked along.
Down the street there was some sort of gathering going on and temporarily forgetting about Keegan, Kasiya made her way over to investigate. There was a woman calling out to the crowd, seemingly assigning numbers to people, and Kasiya moved closer, tapping the shoulder of a girl about her age. "Hey, what's going on here?" she asked.
"It's a mini-battle tournament," the girl replied, without looking at Kasiya. "The winner gets an Up-grade."
"Up-grade?" Kasiya repeated, but the girl had already gone off to watch one of the matches. It was about then that she saw a familiar figure with auburn hair heading off towards a field clearly marked with a large number 1, and without hesitation, Kasiya followed him, carefully balancing the young Charmander on her head. She arrived just in time to hear the exchange of comments, and she looked over at Dante with surprise. Wait a minute, what was he doing in a battle? However, those thoughts were interrupted by another rude comment from the teen in the wife-beater, and she frowned as the two Pokemon were released, unable to keep herself quiet. "Go get 'em, Dante!" she cheered loudly, Nova mimicking her trainer's every action. "Crush 'em!"
=-=-=-=-= Jaeshan chuckled a bit nervously hen Kenneth called him 'Mr Devereaux' and he seriously hoped he wasn't blushing. "Uh, Mr Devereaux is my father," he said, forcing a laugh. "Please, Jaeshan is fine," he insisted, noting that the two of them had sort of separated from Riza and Crenu, but that was fine with him, as the two were getting along strangely well. "It's been several months now," he said, trying to follow Kenneth's rapid-fire questions as best he could. "I've won a few badges, but I wouldn't call myself that experienced. I've still got a lot to learn," he said modestly. Sure, he could hold his own quite well, but he was well aware of the fact that there were tougher trainers out there than him. "Nothing really exciting has happened to me, though," he added with a shrug, not really sure what to tell the sparkly-cape-clad man. "What do you want to know?"

"Oh anything at all will do. Hmm, let me think." Kenneth tilted his head as he though about it, his cape swaying in the light breeze. "Ah, I know. Where are you from? What was your first pokemon? For me it was Misdreavus. Well, was Misdreavus. She's evolved now." He said with a big grin as he took her pokeball from his bag and released her, Mismagius jumping out of the much smaller sphere and taking form. The Magical Pokemon laughed menacingly as she gave off an eerie glow. "Presenting, Mismagius! She's my oldest and dearest friend! Next to Shiro that is." He said with a chuckle, much to Mismagius's dismay. She pretended to faint, floating down to the ground with one of her sleeve like 'arms' covering her face. "Oh come now you drama queen! I have known him longer you know. But not much longer. You're both in first place ok?" This seemed to please the ghost type as she perked right up, laughing playfully. But even with the playful tone, her laugh still came out menacing. "So silly I swear. Anyway, she was my first pokemon, got her way back when I was a still a lad in Ecruteak, Johto. That's where Shiro and I are from." Mismagius took an interest in the new blond trainer and floated over to him, hovering aroudn him in circles. She suddenly vanished, reappearing behind him and putting her arms over his shoulders. "Aww, I think she likes you." Kenneth added with a happy laugh.

"Heh the battles started so lets start this up Machoke use your Karate Chop on that doll. Let's show her how strong real trainers are. " The other grinned at Dante and the Machoke charged forward towards Xanon his arm raised up ready to bring it down on Xanon.
Of course Dante wasn't about to let his pokemon get hit by an attack like that even if Xanon had a resistance to fighting moves. "Use your Psybeam now." Dante ordered knowing the doll would hear him yelling or not, that was one benefit of psychic pokemon even if Dante wasn't their biggest fan. The small doll pokemon didn't even make a sound of acknowledgment as he blasted Machoke at just the right time. The Machoke's hand still brushed the top of his head but it certainly didn't do as much damage to him as he just did. After his attack hit Dante smirked a little at the satisfying sight but his attitude was bolstered a bit at the sound of a familiar voice cheering him on. Glancing over at Kasi he waved a little at her before turning his attention back to he battle.
"Oh so you have a psychic pokemon eh? Well that's ok Machoke let's use dig to evade any more attacks from that doll thing!" The other must have thought himself pretty cleaver with that thought as Machoke easily used his huge muscles to rapidly dig into the ground.
All Dante did was sigh and shake his head. Honestly the Machoke was probably a lot stronger the Xanon but the fact was that the trainer kept making a whole bunch of stupid moves, like this dig for example. "Dig isn't going to work Xanon just keep your cool. Just, just use your Harden while we have the time."
"Trying to boost your defense? That won't protect you from Machokes devastating underground attack!" The other laughed as Xanon's body seemed to be covered with a sheen before it hardened on his body.

By this point Riza's other two Pokemon had made their way over to their trainer's side, Yula dancing the entire way while Diemia the Corphish seemed to sulk. She'd really wanted to try her claw at battling but now it looked like she wouldn't get a chance. Riza decided to put the three of them back in their balls before they could get into trouble, and she carefully put the red and white spheres back onto her belt as she smirked at Crenu. "Of course," she said with a shrug, suddenly wishing she'd thought to have Keegan take a picture with her phone. "I'd like to think I was one of the better dressed people in attendance with my stunning, scarlet gown." She spun on the spot, wondering if she'd ever get a chance to wear the dress again. "Too bad you didn't get to see me all dressed up." She definitely wasn't earning herself any points for modesty today.
At first she hadn't noticed that Jaeshan and Kenneth had sort of gone off on their own, though the strange ghostly Pokemon released by Kenneth had caught her eye. She looked back to Crenu, noticing that he seemed to be a little more at ease than before. 'Okay, did he really care all that much that I'd gone off with Keegan?' she thought, surprised. Crenu hadn't seemed to show any of that kind of interest in her at all. "He actually is pretty nice," she admitted, still thinking of the red head. "But he likes to pretend he's this big tough jerk that nobody likes. Kind of like, hmm, well, you." Now that she thought about it, Crenu and Keegan were a lot alike, right down to their stinky smoking habit. She nodded in agreement with Crenu's last statement. "I thought so too, but Jae really seems to know what he's doing. I am surprised he didn't use his Butterfree or that fire-chicken-thing of his. I saw him battling with them at the beach party and they both looked really strong. Much stronger than me," she said, though the last part was said somewhat quietly. * * * * * "A lucky shot," Katie said simply as Seraphim shook the water droplets from her body. "But even still, after that last absorb your Bibarel doesn't look so good," the orange haired girl pointed out. Even after healing herself, however, Seraphim wasn't looking very good either, and Katie figured it would probably come down to one last attack from either side. "Okay Seraphim, try a poison sting," Katie suggested.
The Roselia nodded and raised her arms before she loosed a spray of glowing, purple needles as the paralyzed beaver, scoring a direct hit. The Bibarel hung on, however, and on Joey's command it somehow freed it's muscles enough to dash forward and land a solid tackle on the tired Roselia. Katie could only watch as Seraphim fainted, suffering a loss in her first battle since being captured. 'I let rollout hit too many times,' she thought as she called the unconscious flower, and tried to decide who to send out next. The kid still had one Pokemon left and she doubted it would be a weak enough foe for Kord to handle, and Noa had seen a lot of action already today, so her choice this time was obvious. "Okay Genki, let's finish this up with a mach punch!" she called as she tossed the sphere.
The ever energetic Monferno burst from his poke ball doing an aerial somersault and already letting out a loud screech as his fist began to glow. He raced across the ground and reared back his arm before slamming a fierce punch in the jaw of the paralyzed beaver Pokemon.

"I wouldn't have seen you in your dress anyway. The whole formal ball scene just isn't me. You'll never catch me in a tux." Crneu's words were straight forward and true, yet he couldn't help imagining Riza in a nice scarlet dress as she spun around. He almost wished he had gotten to see her last night. And of course, the only logical thought that would enter his mind was imagining Riza in her night gown. Damn...I know I'm not this pathetic. She's just another trainer, no different from anyone I've met. Right? Right...yeah. Luckily Crenu's battle with himself was interrupted by Riza's next comment. Surly she wasn't comparing him to that moody red head who went around punching trees was she? "Hmph, I don't pretend to be anything, much less some tough jerk that no one likes. I simply do and say what I need to without sugar coating anything. Whether people like or hate me is irrelevant, I don't waste my time with public perception." He said flatly as he crossed his arms. She didn't really think he was a jerk did she? He just didn't like messing around and threatened people from time to time. But only when they bothered him! He didn't actively go out looking for people to bully around. Wait, why the hell was he justifying his actions to himself? Crenu shook his head clear of these random thoughts, a bit annoyed by it all. "He probably didn't use the other pokemon for fear of hurting your pokemon. I don't know about this fire chicken, but a Butterfree should be far stronger than a baby Cyndaquil." Crenu shifted his arms a bit, suddenly clenching his fists and wincing slightly as he felt a sharp pain run through his left arm when he had pressed his right arm against it. That's right, he had almost forgotten about his bite wound. He hadn't changed the bandages on his arm yet, which he needed to do. "...I've got to go take care of something." Crenu said in a low voice, turning to walk away from the group. Hopefully Ken was to busy talking with Jaeshan to notice. Riza was unpredictable, but hopefully that sudden exit would prompt her not to follow.

For the longest time, Mike just stood there, staring at the now sealed volcano entrance. Sure, if he really wanted to, he could bust it open just as easily, but that wasn't the point. It was symbolic. The boy looked around. The only light in the entire room came from the fiery tip of Nitro's tail. It was in this dark silence that realized just how lonely the rest of his life would be. He couldn't go out, not even for food. He would need to have Portabello or someone else do that for him. If someone happened to stumble upon him, which would be highly unlikely, he'd have to scare them off or something. The Lavaridge boy stood in silence contemplation, his Breloom stepping forward to address him.
Master, the Pokemon spoke in a soft mental voice, taking care not to startle the boy. What do you mean by 'breaking this place in'? Nitro stood beside him, his face showing equal concern for their trainer.
Mike whipped around, clutching his messenger bag between his dirty fingers. "Wh-why, with pictures of course!" he said with a smile. "Y-you can't live in a place this plain! Even a volcano! Heh heee!" He dropped to the floor, eagerly opening the bag, marveling at the contents like a birthday gift. From inside he produced pictures, a good deal of pictures; each unsurprisingly sporting the same red-haired girl. "Pictures. Pictures! Pictures! Pictures! Pictures! Pictures!" Mike repeated, racing around and affixing his vast array of pictures to the wall. When he was done, the images formed a heart shape on the wall. There were easily more than four dozen separate pictures of Flannery on the wall now. The boy stepped back, an accomplished smile on his face. "H-how about now boys?" he asked his Pokemon, motioning to the design on the wall like they had just entered unaware of his work. "Makes it more h-homey don't...don't you think?" He stifled a laugh, trying his best to suppress it, but there was little the boy could do now to fight off the madness. He laughed a crooked laugh that bounced around the insides of the volcano, causing both his Pokemon to cringe in fear; fear of what their trainer was becoming.

“You still have a long way to go before you can ever think of challenging master’s Blaziken. You need to be more aggressive!!” The shrouded tyrogue glared at his master. His breathing heavy from the amount of energy he has been using. It has been the third day since we've been sparring and it seemed as if I have not gotten any stronger. How can this human continue training like this? It has been almost three days and he is standing there like time has not passed? Lee’s thoughts were interrupted as round was cruising his way. The pokemon leaped backward and frowned at his companion. The boy smiled at him with no malice showing up whatsoever and continued to unleash a barrage of attacks upon his trusted friend. Lee began to duck and weave through the attacks, each one coming closer as he begins to lose his breath. “If you can’t take the heat Lee then tell me. We will stop this whole thing and we can say that I am the winner!!” Maxi smiled once more while continuing his barrage. Lee spat his tongue out at Maxi and as another roundhouse almost clipped his head, the scuffle pokemon grabbed onto his opponent’s leg and went into a simple ankle lock. Maxi fell on his bum and yelled as Lee started to apply pressure to his ankle. Maxi tried to relax and think a way out of his situation seeing it was he who taught the Lee the lock, but the pokemon was serious about this match and was not going to let the black belt off easily.
Lee applied more pressure and began to smile almost with a hint of malice on his face. This has been the first time he has put the young man on the ground since they met. It hadn’t been too long, but it felt like an eternity to the pokemon. Lee shook his head feeling silly he was reminiscing and began to roll into a transfer for another lock when he realized that he was now in the air and not holding the leg of Maxi. His face went from a small smile to a huge frown and as he prepped to land safely on a pile of rocks, his companion was already in the air, flying side kick and all. The kick connected with Lee’s torso and the small pokemon flew back into a bush. Maxi landed on his feet gently and dusted off his pants. “You put up a good fight, but it seems your head is not completely in the game. And if it is?... then something is horribly wrong.” The young black belt spat out his tongue as the defeated tyrogue emerged from the bushes. His eyes were locked onto his friend and though he wanted to continue the battle, Lee was sore all over and wanted something to eat so he simply bowed. He didn’t want to, but if he could get a small break then he would do it. Lee did a light bow toward Maxi and the boy returned it almost instantly. Lee looked at the ground to find his shroud/mantle a bit torn up. He picked it off the ground and walked towards Maxi pointing at it as he got closer to his tall counterpart. Maxi was starting to head back towards their home when his tyrogue buddy came strolling in pointing at his ripped mantle.
“So I see your coming for another…” Maxi looked at the mantle and the Lee’s eyes. The young tyrogue stared at him with his huge puppy dog eyes and the young black belt knew what he wanted. “But I bought you a mantle not too long ago!!” Lee continued to stare, his eyes only getting cuter over time. “Lee, come on!! Do you really need the mantle? You look pretty cool without it and that is coming from your best friend!” Maxi gave Lee a “thumbs up” hoping that the tyrogue would give up. The pokemon began to go into a frown and Maxi sighed. “Damnit… okay you win, you win. Are you happy? When we get to another town for food I will get you a new mantle made of nintendium, but you have to promise to take EXTREMELY good care of it, okay?” The tyrogue perked up and gave a low bow winking at his buddy as he faced the ground. Maxi laughed and picked up his buddy. “You are lucky I like you Lee!!” The tyrogue scuffled around and repositioned himself on his buddy’s shoulder. Maxi made sure Lee was stable on his should before they began to return to their small home near the entrance of Mt. Ember.
The two arrive at the small rock home and Lee hopped off his shoulder rushing towards the smell of food. Maxi giggled to himself and took a seat a rock not too far from the stone home. It has been some time since he had felt like this… happy. Five years… five long years since I left Canalave. I wonder if they are worried about me? Probably not. Russ would be the only one and I would send him letters, but he would find a way to track me down and I don’t want that… Maxi gave a small breath and looked towards the sky. He has been thinking of home so much, but he does not want to return. The trouble and chaos that would follow would be unparallel and he did not want to deal with any of it. But at the same time, he had left his sister. Though she had caused him much trouble, she was probably the only one he trusted besides Russ and Lee. Maxi’s mind began to wander, but Lee immediately interrupted by handing his friend a stick of meat. The young man looked at the tyrogue and gave a warm smile taking the stick and beginning to eat. The two were training. Training to become the strongest and to do that both had to be one with mind, body and soul. Maxi knew what the two need to go through to set off on that path and he was preparing his friend for the road ahead. Tyrogue slowly nibbled into his meal as he began to throw roundhouses all over the place. Maxi giggled at his buddy and continued eating. The two needed time to relax and rest because soon the two would be travelling to gain new friends. Friends that would all become one to defeat the four.
Maxi through his stick onto the ground after finishing his last bite of food. He rose from the ground only to sit back onto the warm earth and began doing sit ups. Lee looked at his friend and threw his food into the fire they had made, beginning to emulate his friend. The two had lots of work to do, but they both knew all would be well. It had to be.

First of all, Kasiya wasn’t exactly familiar with the strange Pokemon that Dante was using, though she decided against checking her PokeDex right now. Judging by the strength of the Psybeam it fired off, she made an estimated guess that it was a Psychic-type, which meant that it would have somewhat of an advantage over the Machoke, a Pokemon with which she was quite familiar. She watched with wide eyes as the Superpower Pokemon quickly dove underground, though she wasn’t sure if it would work or not. Nova watched with keen interest as well, for she hadn’t been in many battles as of yet, but she was sure to pay close attention in hopes of learning something. She couldn’t wait to get stronger so she could battle for her mama! Kasiya temporarily took her gaze from the battle to scan the small crowd that had gathered around Field 1, continuing to keep her eyes open for Keegan. Just where did he go anyway? she thought, starting to feel a bit worried.
=-=-=-=-= "Mismagius..." Jaeshan murmured, watching the Ghost-type carefully. He'd not known Misdreavus was capable of evolving, but he checked both Pokemon in his PokeDex quickly anyway. "She's just lovely," the blonde nodded, looking over his shoulder at her. Maybe he'd try to get himself a Mismagius at some point, who knew? He looked back at Ken again. "As for me, well, I come from Littleroot Town, in Hoenn," he said, realizing with a pang that he only seemed to miss home whenever he mentioned it. "My first Pokemon was a Poochyena that I caught raiding trashcans outside my house. He's evolved since, and is a Mightyena now, but he's currently staying with Professor Birch and a few of my other Pokemon." He wondered just how Mightyena and the others were doing, it had been a few days since he'd seen them last, and he hoped the Bite Pokemon wasn't causing the professor too much trouble. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Crenu start to leave. Okay, what's eating him now? the blonde thought, looking back at Mismagius, and he smiled again. There sure was a lot about Pokemon he didn't know yet.

"Isn't she though? I was so surprised when she evolved but wow was it great!" He exclaimed loudly which caused Mismagius to hover back over to him and give him a hug instead. She was happy the blond trainer liked her, but she was disappointed that she couldn't scare him. "A Poochyena huh? Haven't seen one of those before." He sad as he searched through his pokedex until he found it, as well as it's evolution. "Oh my, such a handsome tough looking pokemon, I'll bet your Mightyena is real strong. Musta been hard leaving it behind like that. I could never dream of not being with my Mismagius." The thought alone was heart wrenching, Jaeshan was a stronger man than he that's for sure. "I'm sure your pokemon are in good hands though. Ah, So you're going to train in Kanto for a while? Why not hop on the ferry back to Slateport for your gym battle? Unless you're totally broke now to buy a ticket." He added with a light chuckle as he recalled Mismagius. Didn't want anyone getting too use to her, she might lose some of her dazzle! Ken turned his head real quick to check on the others, noticing Crenu walking away. "Oh no, what happened? And I thought they were getting along so well. Honestly, that Shiro is just so damn stubborn some times, he's just gonna end up hurting himself in the end. Oh but I'm having to much fun to go see what he's up to. Do me a favor sweetie, can you make sure he's alright? He's never gonna learn to be more friendly on his own, I can see that now. You gotta give him a little push. He definitely likes you I know that much." He said to Riza with a smile before turning back to Jaeshan. "What was I saying? I totally forgot."

Dante just sighed as he watched the Machoke lunge up four feet to the left of Xanon. Dante figured it was a lot harder to figure out where the other pokemon was when it was levitating off of the ground. "Xanon let's finish this off. Blast him away with another Psybeam." Dante muttered rubbing the bridge of his nose. He was done with this battle and he hoped that the annoying trainer would leave him alone so he could talk to Kasi while he waited for his next opponent. Of course Xanon came through for him and the Machoke was blasted to the other side of the arena. After getting knocked around by two psychic blasts and some fooling around from his trainer he was done with. Dante might have had more of a problem if it wasn't for the fact that the trainer he was fighting was dumb as a rock. Honestly Xanon was even floating above the ground why would one use a ground attack like dig against him?
"Ha I was just going easy on you." The other laughed recalling Machoke and coming over to where Dante was standing. "It wouldn't look good for someone as cool and awesome as me to beat up a girl. So how about we go on a date later sweetie. I know the perfect place for someone as cold as you." The other tried to put an arm around Dante's shoulders and steer him away but it was quickly pushed away.
"I don't care if you were going easy on me or not. However if you call me a girl one more time I will break your arm instead of push it off me. Now go crawl back under whatever rock you came from." Dante glared up at the other before walking off signaling that he had won the battle before heading over to where Kasiya and her young Charmander were standing. "I take it you are getting on the boat to Sinnoh to?" Dante asked the other who seemed to be looking around for someone.

It didn't take too long for the inquisitive Treecko to wander away from where his redheaded trainer was resting, and he spotted a girl lying on her belly beneath a tree, a book spread out in front of her. More interesting than the girl was the Pokemon resting against the trunk of the tree next to her: a strange, lizard-like Pokemon, green and yellow in colour with a red zigzag pattern on his belly. Pan tilted his head, intrigued. The lizardy Pokemon was sleeping, and quite soundly it seemed, as he did not stir as Pan approached with silent steps. If there was one thing that Pan was good at, it was stealth, and he liked to practice his art as often as he could. The crafty Treecko went unnoticed as he neared the girl and her Pokemon, and he carefully peeked over her shoulder to try and get a glimpse of the book she was reading. Pan raised an eyebrow when he saw that the pages were completely filled with words and had no pictures in them whatsoever, and he scoffed loudly, finally getting the attention of the girl. She let out a bit of a cry and jumped to her feet. "A Treecko? Where'd you come from?" she asked once she'd calmed down a bit, carefully studying the gecko. Her Pokemon lazily opened one eye to look at what had caused his trainer to jump up, and when he saw the Treecko standing there he too got to his feet. Pan just looked up at the girl as innocently as he could before he grinned at her, and the girl laughed. "Oh, you're cute as a button," she said, looking to her Kecleon. "I simply must capture you!"
When those words were said, the cute look on Pan's face vanished, and he took a step back. She couldn't capture him, he already belonged to that lazy redhead back there. The Treecko gulped as the girl pulled a Pokeball from her bag, and then pointed at Pan. "Let's get ourselves a Treecko, Leon! Fake Out, go!"
Before Pan could even think twice, the Kecleon had opened his mouth and his long tongue had swiftly lashed out and caught the prone Treecko in the stomach. Pan fell to the ground, having had the wind knocked out of him, and he tried to cry out, but could not. Just like that the girl set her Kecleon on the attack again, and there was nothing Pan could do to defend against him as the Color Swap Pokemon tore into him with a vicious scratch attack. As all this was happening just a little ways behind Keegan, who had somehow dozed off even with the battle starting nearby. ===== It was a bit comical to watch Sparkle try and shake off the Cotton Spores that had clung to her body, and her tail seemed to light up as a result of her anger. "Relax Sparkle, it's not hurting you," Miharu told the Flaaffy. Sparkle bleated in reply, and looked up at Aska, who was also enjoying the Flaaffy's annoyance. "Why don't you pay Aska back with a Thundershock?" the green-haired girl suggested coyly.
Sparkle definitely liked the sound of that, and again the Flaaffy's tail began to shine with a bright light. She let out a sharp cry before she sent a jolt of bluish electricity up into the sky, and having been too busy laughing to herself to realize it was coming. The Thundershock arched upwards and easily struck the distracted Pidgeotto, and the bird let out a pained shriek as the electricity coursed through her body.
"Feel better now?" Miharu asked, looking down at Sparkle.
"Flaa," the Flaaffy nodded, her woolly body still glistening with static.

Riza couldn't help but giggle and smile at the thought of Crenu all dressed up, though she did figure he'd look pretty good if he could somehow be convinced to do it. "It wasn't that bad, actually," she said with a shrug, though she was unable to stop herself from grinning at the next comment. He could deny it all he wanted but the likeness was there, but she decided not to press the matter any further. His attitude and outlook on life were what made him so interesting to be around. She looked over at Jaeshan as Crenu pointed out why he hadn't used his other Pokemon, but it only made her feel more annoyed. He must have thought she couldn't have handled it. 'Fine, we'll just have to get stronger, that'll show him. That'll show everyone.' She clenched her fists and glared at the ground, looking up as Crenu began to walk away. "Take care of what?" she asked, but he was already out of earshot. She saw him favouring his shoulder and she frowned. 'I bet he's not taking care of that bite wound. He's so hopeless without me around,' she thought with a smile, looking back at Kenneth. He was definitely right, as for one she didn't think he could even change that bandage with one hand. "Okay," she nodded, waving at the two young men. "I'll see you guys later, and Jae? Thanks for the training battle, I did learn a lot," she said before dashing off after Crenu. * * * * * Even Katie felt a little sorry for Bibarel as Genki's fist rocketed into his jaw, and the beaver Pokemon was sent tumbling back head over tail before coming to a stop at Joey's feet. "Wow, your Monferno looks tough," Joey commented as he put his Bibarel back in it's poke ball. "But I think I have just the opponent for him. Let's go Croagunk!" Joey threw out his second ball, revealing a strange looking toadlike Pokemon. His yellow eyes were narrowed and he sat hunched over, orange cheeks billowing out with each breath it took.
Katie frowned when she saw it, but she took out her pokedex anyway. "So that's a Croagunk," she mumbled. 'The poison mouth Pokemon, Croagunk,' she read to herself. 'It's cheeks hold poison sacs, and it uses them to make a creepy croaking sound to intimidate it's foes. It is often used as a mascot, though it rarely fights fair in the wild to ensure it's survival.' She closed the device and looked over at Genki. "I think we can take it," she said with a nod. 'I just hope that Genki can avoid getting poisoned.' She adjusted her sleeves and pointed at the creepy Pokemon. "Okay Genki, start off with fury swipes," she said.
The Monferno hopped back and forth from foot to foot before he dashed forward again, eager to keep the battle going. "Block it with brick break," Joey called quickly. Croagunk didn't seem to be listening though, as he just sat there, watching as Genki rushed at him. Then at the last minute he stood up, both hands glowing white as he held them up to defend against Genki's strikes.

Crenu hadn't gone all that far from the clearing where they had battled when he looked back only to see Riza chasing after him. "Damn." Of course she followed him. He should have prayed for the opposite and maybe she wouldn't have. Though a part of him was a little glad she had, which just annoyed him more. He slowed down and waited for her to catch up to him. He put his hands in his pocket and tried to ignore his arm. "...I'm fine you know. I was just gonna change my bandages, you didn't have to follow me." He kept walking, not really sure where they were headed or what he was looking for. Any place to sit down was good, it wasn't a particularly complicated process. He noticed a nice bench facing the water, not that far from a large building that was probably the Vermilion gym, and pointed to it. "So what are you going to do now? You just gonna wait around for the next train to Goldenrod?" He asked as he sat on the bench, taking off his coat. He was still just wearing a t-shirt so the bandaged arm was in plain view, the dark red stains from the dried blood taking up almost his whole thing. "Doesn't look like it's bleeding anymore. Probably won't have to change it again as long as it doesn't reopen." Crenu said that out loud, but he was mostly speaking to himself. He set his bag down and started rummaging through it looking for for his first aid supplies. His arm still hurt but he ignored it, showing weakness and vulnerability wasn't something he would allow himself to do.

It didn't take much for Riza to catch up to Crenu as he'd slowed his pace once he saw her. She looked towards his injured arm and smiled, falling into line beside him. "Who even said I was following you?" she asked somewhat playfully. "And even still I know you will have a hard time changing that bandage on your own. Honestly would it kill you to ask for help? What's the matter, afraid your mainly ego will get bruised?" The two of them found a bench that gave was overlooking the water, and Riza also noticed the building nearby. "According to Jaeshan there's a gym in this town, and I'm going to challenge it," she announced in response to his question. "Besides, I don't really feel like rushing back to Johto so soon anymore. Not without having tried to accomplish something."
She leaned in closer to get a better look at the bloody bandage. "It does look like it's stopped bleeding," she said. "But you still need to be careful, there might be an infection setting in. Give me that," she added as he pulled the first aid kit from his bag. "Besides, it's not like I'm going to think any less of you for asking for help, you know," she told him, her voice taking on a more serious tone. "So, are you going to let me help you out here, or not?" * * * * * Each of Genki's fury swipes attacks were blocked by a deft brick break from the Croagunk, and not a single one was able to make it through. Panting a little the Monferno jumped back, his tail burning quite brightly. "Wow, it's tough," Katie observed, looking over at her Genki. "But we can handle it! Genki, show 'em your special move!" she called. The Monferno nodded and jumped forward again, this time rearing back his fist as it began to crackle with electricity.
"Try to block it Croagunk!" Joey shouted. "Like before!" Croagunk nodded as well and held up his own glowing fist, but this time it wouldn't be an effective defense as the electricity from Genki's thunderpunch was transferred to Croagunk's body, and the toady Pokemon received a rather nasty shock. It staggered back from the strike, and Genki decided to act quickly and follow it up with a burst of flames from his mouth, showering the poison mouth Pokemon with embers.

Kasiya wasn't at all surprised to see the Machoke's Dig attack miss by a mile. That Pokemon's special ability must be Levitate, she thought, noting the fact that the little guy hadn't touched the ground at all over the entire duration of the battle. The big guy seemed to brush the loss of pretty well, though every time he called Dante a girl it seemed to irk her a little more. "What is with that guy anyway?" she asked once he'd walked away, and now Dante had come over to her.
She looked at the ground as he asked her about Sinnoh. "Yeah, I suppose so," she said, shrugging. Keegan's previous question returned to her mind and she sighed. "At least I was going to. I don't know anymore." She continued to look at the ground, not liking this confused feeling in her chest. Nova sensed that her mama was sad, and gently patted the girl on the head. "Thanks, Nova," Kasiya said, trying to force on a smile. "What about you, Dante?" she asked, looking up at her friend. "Are the legendary Pokemon sending you on a journey to the new region to get the latest dirt on the legendary Pokemon of Sinnoh?"
=-=-=-=-= To be honest Jaeshan wasn't totally sad to see Mismagius put back into her Pokeball, as she was starting to creep him out a little. "I do miss having him with me, but he had worked very hard for quite some time so he deserved the vacation." He could just imagine the canine lounging around lazily under the shade of a big tree, but after a moment or two he shook the image a way. No, if anything, both Mightyena and Nidoking were probably training nonstop, though he hoped they weren't destroying Professor Birch's property. He just smirked at the comment about him being broke. "Nah, money's never really been an issue with me, but I do think I'm gonna stay here in Kanto a while. After all I did promise one of my Pokemon that we'd go back to Celadon to try and win ourselves a Rainbow Badge when she was a bit more grown up, and she seems to have fulfilled her end of the bargain." He chuckled, knowing Blaziken would most likely be a great asset to have in the match against Erika, but he couldn't help but think that Erika probably had many strategies to counter the many weaknesses her Grass-type Pokemon possessed.
He too looked over as Crenu had started to leave, and he shook his head. "Reminds me of someone I know, always brooding and sulking," he mumbled as Ken told Riza to go after the broody blonde. "It's no problem," he replied, nodding at Riza. "I learned a thing or two as well," he added as the raven-haired girl followed after Crenu. "A couple of oddballs," Jaeshan said as he looked back at Ken.
