Shane relaxed his stance and chuckled. That skeleton wasn't going to be doing anything for a while. His eyes followed the path of the spear to a woman who was backing away. Noticing he still had his broadsword out, Shane quickly replaced it into the sheath on his back. "It's alright. I'm not gonna attack you." he called out to her, putting either hand parallel to his face as a sign of peace. "The skeleton was threatening my bar, so I had to dispatch it." he added, nodding at the broken skeleton that was still trying to move around. "Yeah, and reveal the fact I'm a mercenary.... stupid." he thought to himself with a curse. Shane lowered his hands to hand by his side as he advanced to the woman. "Any chance you have a name?" He asked, half trying to make conversation, half trying to assure her that he was a friend.
Lyris grinned as he saw that the shot connected, but it quickly faded as he saw that the skeleton noticed the other two. "Delarin!" he cursed to himself as he replaced his gun into its holster, instead opting for the twin longswords he kept at his side. Spinning the swords around a bit, Lyris advanced and took up his fighting stance. The stance consisted of a medium-wide leg stance, with his right hand and sword parallel to his face, along with his left hand crossing his right at the wrist and that sword at an angle to the right sword. It wasn't an incredibly complex stance. "Though Shane made up the original stance, I adapted it for dual swordplay." Lyris thought. He didn't know why he was narrating this to himself, so he made a bit of a mistake in his first move. Instead of slicing with his left sword as usual, he moved with his right arm first. This was incredibly dangerous as the left hand was "on top", and as such hindered the right hand's movement. Lyris was lucky he didn't get lacerated with his own sword. As it was, however, Lyris took a stab at the skeleton before it could get to the others.

She lowered her guard, though still eyeing him cautiously. "M-my name?... is Felecia Hawthorne... may i ask yours?"
Her breathing went back to normal, and she didn't clutch her locket as closely as before...

((Short post where Shizuru does nothing))
Shizuru simply watched what was going on outside with Shane and the skeleton. She still couldn't believe what she was seeing. She then saw the girl come into her view. Noo... get away from that thing! she yelled in her thoughts.

((sorry for the delay guys, I was camping with my family and then got really sick))
Haucon felt Aidan's presence as she came to his side and watched the skeleton up ahead. He turned toward her slightly, still keeping an eye on the skeleton, and raised an eyebrow in answer to her question. Something glinted on the skeleton's clothing and he leaned forward and squinted trying to make out what it was. It was useless the skeleton was too far away.
He was about to try to usher Aidan back into the shop when a shot rang out. The skeleton whirled around and Haucon could see its eye sockets, empty and black, a small hole passing through its skull between its eyes. Whoever had shot it was a damn good shot! Haucon hefted the piece of wood he carried more securely and stepped slightly in front of Aidan ready to protect her if necessary He could now clearly see a badge of some kind on the skeleton's clothing, he was shocked to see it was the badge of the Sea Guard. He looked at the skeleton warily.

Ian the Archer Why won't you die!? The East gate was doing much better than the South. Able to fire upon the enemy from the higher ground, the archers had managed to thin the ranks of the enemy as they had appeared but the sheer numbers were more than a match for them. From on top of one of the turrets, Ian was able to look down upon the entire force of the enemy troops right back out to the first of the fields. With one of the longest ranges in the current tower, it was his job to aim for the furthest targets to try and thin out the ranks closer to home. So far anything that he had fired an arrow at had died in one shot. Except one. The one that he had been firing at for the past minute had been able to see them coming somehow and had cut them out the sky. It was beginning to piss him off slightly, he had used these arrows for the past five years and they had served well. Something would have to be done about him as he was getting dangerously close to the front lines. Shravra the metalsmith A dilemma. He was in luck. The bones did indeed have the mannerisms of the elf they had once been. Unfortunately, the bones seemed to be in a hurry and motioned to the South gate and to the sword in his hands. It wouldn't do to just give the sword to the skeleton, but Shravra was interested in what was going to happen at the wall. ”I'm sorry, but I can't just give you any of my swords. I can however find out what you need the sword for, and maybe I might be able to give it to you them. Shall we go to where you're meant to be soon. I'll decide once we're there.” Motioning to the direction that the skeleton had pointed, Shravra moved off waiting for the bones to lead the way. (Time to re-introduce Ian the werecat. I wonder where the bones will go next.))

((Ah, feel better, EKA.
Skeleton # 3 v. Shravra and Isabelle))
The skeleton hesitated, as if pondering Shravra's words, and seemingly sighed. It motioned to the outer walls again and turned to head toward the South Gate. However, it noticed Isabelle and paused. Perhaps, the elven bones had noticed something off about the barbershop girl. The skeleton raised its sword in a defensive stance, while edging past the girl. It seemed unsure and unwilling to engage her. Whatever was happening at its destination seemed more pressing.

Meanwhile, Adam was, not surprisingly, cursing as he tended to his face. Even though it hadn't been a deep cut, it hurt. He had been through worse, but the cut still annoyed him. It was analogous to getting a simple paper cut that stung and distracted you from work you had to get done. "What's our progress?" he grumbled as he stood up.
The able bodied men were building a barricade, and the archers atop the stone walls were shooting the enemy down from their perches. Messengers had been sent to find the mages and doctors, and some other men were frantically trying to battle the fire that Taint had started.
"Captain! You must see this!" one of the archers suddenly yelled.
"What?" Adam roared as he ambled toward the stairs that led up to the top of the stone walls. What he saw once he was at the top surprised him. "What the f***! Just what the hell is that thing doing!"

((Chronopolis East Gate.))
Indeed, the East Gate forces were doing much better than the South Gate. Maybe it was because of the accuracy of archers, namely Ian. The presence of cavalry also made it easier to strike down some of the enemy foot soldiers.
"Skeleton? Adam must be hallucinating," Kira grumbled quite audibly after hearing one of the Adam's messengers relay an update. She sighed as she heard some of the archers complain in frustration at how some of the enemy was not falling no matter what they did. Was it magic?
Within the mess, probably due to Ian's cat ears, he would hear some enemy soldiers yell, "For ... glory of Eu...sa!" His captain, Kira, however did not hear it, and it was possible that he was the only one to pick it up.

Ian the Archer Passing the message. His ears twitched under the hood. There were shouts floating up from the battlefield below that sounded very out of place. Is that what I think it was? “For the glory of Eurosia”? I need to let captain Kira know. Signaling another archer to take his place, Ian leaped at a pole jutting out from the side of the building swinging off it skillfully and on to the flagpole next to it. Sliding to the base he wormed his way through the tightly packed crowd of soldiers at the gate before reaching the captain. Captain, I think I have news on the enemy. There's a Eurosian flag at the back of the enemy forces and there's a big soldier coming in that we can't shoot down at all. I think he might be magically enhanced. The said flag was right at the back of the enemy troops and would have been hard for anyone to make out with without a lens to zoom out at it. Some of the soldiers behind him laughed at Ian thinking him to have been out in the sun too long. It was quickly stopped as Ian stared at him through his goggled eyes, fire reflected in the lenses. The soldier on the other hand was close enough for nearly everyone to see. Now that he was closer to him, Ian bounced onto a sturdy box just inside the gate to see clearly over the heads of the troops. The enemy soldier was a head higher that anyone surrounding him and was hacking his way through the field without a single wound on his body. Taking aim, Ian loosed three arrows at it with only one hitting it, barely making a scratch across its arm. Is it a troll in armor? Nothing else I've seen fights that way. It's the only explanation.

Shane let out a sigh of relief as the woman seemed to relax and spoke to him. "I'm Shane. Er, Shane Wolfken." he replied to her question. "I own the bar just down the way" he added as he motioned toward the bar he just jumped out of.

Shane narrowed his eyes a small bit, but not to look threatening. Instead, he placed his arms in a thoughtful pose, hand on his chin. "Hmm.. Well, I haven't owned it since I worked there." he started. "I started working when I was about 15, and once I turned 18, the barkeep passed it down to me in his will." he shrugged. It was the truth, what did the woman expect?

Shane raised his eyebrow at her apparent lack of concern for her home. "Err, you're free to stay at the bar if you like. It's also a pretty nice inn." he told her, motioning to the bar behind him. "You can stay there, while I investigate further into this. I'm sure the Mercenaries' Guild would like to have a report." he thought as he turned and headed down the path to a seemingly random destination.
Lyris, realizing his folly, cursed himself and reset his stance, this time striking with the proper hand (the left) first. As he slashed diagonally downward, he saw the blade crash into the skeleton with enough force to jar it a bit, but not to utterly knock it down. Confident, Lyris flew into his combo. After his initial strike, he turned and slashed with his right hand in a diagonal path opposite from his first slash. After that, he spun around to his left and brought down his left sword in a similar slash to his first. Once his sword was down, he jumped back, and leaped high into the air, one leg down, the other drawn up to his stomach. As he came down, he spun forward, bringing both swords together for the "finishing blow". As his swords crashed into the skeleton, Lyris saw it fly backwards, up the road. Recovering from his finisher, Lyris looked up the path to see Shane walking down it. He paid Shane no mind, however, his mind intent on something else. "That was... pitiful. Whoever summoned these creatures probably didn't take into account that they were weak-a** soldiers. No matter, the Mercenaries' Guild will want to hear about this." he thought as he stood back, putting his most of his weight on one leg with the other bent forward in a sort of casual pose.
OOC: Yes, the Mercenaries' Guild Lyris was thinking about is the very same one that Shane is a member of. However, the two don't know that the other is in the Guild. Catch my drift?

((Haha. The irony. I almost missed your last post while I was typing.
Skeleton # 4 v. Haucon, Lyris, Aidan))
With another stab, yet completely offkey, from Lyris, the skeleton faltered slightly yet again, but did not fall. It did not even make a motion to raise its weapon at anyone. But with Lyris's next move, it was sent flying away from Haucon and Aidan and Lyris.
The Sea Guard badge... why could it possibly be on the walking skeleton? What did it mean? Though Lyris hadn't noticed, Haucon, who had been Chronopolis for some time, might be wondering if the skeleton was actually an enemy if it had Chronopolitan badges.

Meanwhile back at the harbor area...
Kevin couldn't believe his eyes. The invaders definitely appeared to be demon, but something was off. He was now underwater with some of the others fighting off and rushing after the invaders that had breached the ship line by scooting by underwater.
...and then suddenly, Kevin found himself facing two very large red eyes. What the hell? "Scatter!" he yelled, or tried to. Everyone seemed to understand him. As he burst out of the water, he was followed by the two red eyes, which was connected to a bigger head and body. An ice dragon. Life just got better. Uh, Master Thomas? Why is there an ice dragon here?
