well we sorta kinda make our instruments rape eachother. My plastic clarinet, Clair, is very.... flirty I would say, but my wooden clarinet, Annette, is more conservative, she's a virigin. lol

Last year when i sat next to several trombones me and one of them decided to put our instraments (trombone and bassoon) together and see if we could get a sound out. The only way we could figure out a way to make it work though was to put the bocal in the mouthpiece slot and blow adjusting ambisure and slide postion accordingly. It sounded like s**t but it was entertaining and i was starting to get the hang of it when the teacher put a stop to it.

My friend did the exact same thing...except he just put the bassoon reed into the mouthpiece. The resulting sound kinda reminded me of a dying anteater.
Of course, you can also use bassoon reeds by putting them on top of drink straws and drinking juice through 'em. (Probably not very good for the reed though. sweatdrop )

Or BD was counting off the beginning of a march (Peacemaker, to be specific), and his icti got stuck in the ceiling tile. Never thought I'd see that.

it's fun to annoy the rest of the band by thumping a trombone mouthpiece with your fingernail...makes a realy high pitched noise

Eh, it's more annoying when brass players thump the palm of their hand against their mouthpiece. It's sounds cool the first time, but not the seventeenth....

yeh...but do it too much and you get your mouthpiece stuck in your horn...i forgot about that little talent blaugh

There isn't much you can do with a trumpet.

Last year at band camp, though, they switched everyone's mouth pieces around. Good thing I was the only one with a cornet. They couldn't switch mine

Theres only 6 flutes in our 7A band and we connect the headjoint of your flute to the other persons footjoint and try to play. We also have swordfights and we twirl them around too.

ummm my section takes naps on our sousaphones in the middle of band camp( we aren't aloud to sit on the feild). when we are in "chill" position with it resting on our waist we credit card people with our bells (basically lift the person into the air through there butt cheeks) some other fun things we do is once durings sectionals we rolled up our shorts and took off hour shirts ( our section is very white, one black chick) and attacked the tombone and mellophone section. umm our section messed around alot last year

During one of our Thursday night sectionals, the guys thought it'd be fun to start heaving the drumsticks at one another. One guy would bend over and turn around, while the other would stand across the field, and see if he could hit his arse. Eventually, they tried using quad and bass drum mallets, and also started to face forwards. Imagine the pain, when one of them actually hit. It was so amusing for us girls, though. biggrin
