Josh arrived just in time to see the utter failure of the fires.
"What the s**t?" he muttered, coming to a halt. With the immediate danger gone, a more subtle approach could be done.

Samuel groaned. "What... was that...?" He stood up and shook his head, noticing that Gurul's personality had once again been segregated from his.
lot so we can match the strength of the others, who seem to be developing at astonishing rates.>
Samuel looked around at the scorched bodies and the ashen walls of the school, that had almost been torched to the ground.
He turned to his companions. "What's the plan now?"

((Actually, Devath, it's been roughly 700 years - the Cabal formed somewhere in the range of roughly the 12th-14th centuries))
Samuel's question was interrupted by a bystander, previously unnoticed as he walked by, who suddenly grabbed Erik by the back of his shirt and quite literally hurled him through the front of a McDonald's. His appearance clicked immediately now that they had their attention on him - it was the guy who had blocked Leviathan's strike earlier. And he looked pissed.

Samuel did a double-take and groaned. "Lovely... everyone better spread out and take cover wherever you can. Move fast." He started running and visualized a jet of flames propelling him upwards and forwards, leaping away by a good measure as he gazed back at the infuriated form of the Hunter, who seemed perfectly ready to attack and injure or kill every last one of them.
Samuel cast the propulsion spell once more, elevating himself above the buildings all around and landed on top of a nearby skyscraper. "Hell, they're all on the ground, so I can probably relax for a little bit up here. Sindy, you still with me?"

Josh glared at Samuel, recognizing the feel of the flame's magic. He ran at the building and began dragging himself up it by his hands at an alarming rate. People had begun running.
~~
"Do not call me Sindy. But yes, I am," Sindhlot answered. "I'm going to work on extracting the others."

Samuel looked down the side of the building with a concerned look. "Aye, you do that. Looks like I'm gonna have to flee on my own, though. Make sure we don't lose anyone else. I'll report the status of our two defectees to Legion when I get there, and explain the reason for our rapid retreat. I'm off, Sindhlot."
He cast the propulsion spell once more, watching as the infuriated Hunter reached almost halfway up the building with a bit of admiration. Powerful climber, really. Lateral speed would require walking like a gorilla though, so he wondered how that would work. He cast the spell over and over again, making sure to check his tail periodically for the pursuer. He wondered how high and far away he had to get to lose the pursuer...

Where as flying man seemed to be handled by Josh (and Paul didn't know if he could go after him), the other one might have gotten a lucky break and come out of his crash vaguely awake. Now drawing both his handgun and his iPod, he leapt through the broken Micky D's glass, avoiding a screaming woman leaping out the way he had come in. He glanced around, adjusting his glasses slightly with his iPod hand. "Anybody alive or functioning in here?" he asked loudly, bending down so as to be able to grab his shadow if things went downhill too quickly.

Josh lost sight of Samuel.
"Dammit!" he yelled as he pushed off from the building. Glowing wings emerged from his back as he descended, slowing his fall greatly. He landed and the wings disappeared. He glanced around, looking for the other warlocks. His eyes settled on Aurelie. He began to run at her.
~~
Paul was answered. It looked like Erik was out for the time being.

Siber grudgingly admitted he was right and regained his feet. After a moment of weakness, he shook his head and recovered, then got a tin of mints out of his jacket pocket. Or tried to. Whoops, don't want the narcotic ones. Or those tiny flash-bang things. Or... wait! Here they are! He finally successfully remembered where the right container was, put the others away, and popped a mint in his mouth. He then offered the other two the container. "Sorry for the freak-out; want any?"

Joe saw the Titan's Fist-er running at the new girl. He quickly gathered his mana and blasted a cone of wind directly at his knees, aiming to sending him flying head over heels.

"Aw s**t," Aurelie cursed, seeing the Hunter suddenly focus on her and start running. she thought. Apolline shouted at Aurelie. She clapped her palms together and pushed them forward quickly, murmuring, "Aqua gelidus thundara!" Two of her glyphs glowed yellow and blue, then from her hands shot water turning to ice in a swirling path with a whorl of lightening crackling around it. She aimed at the Hunter and around him trying to slow him down. Figureing it wouldn't help too much she started backpedaling but didn't take her eyes off the Hunter. She twisted her wrist palm down and shouted, "Terra!" The earth buckled in front of her as one of the glyphs she had on her glove began to glow green. She and Apolline pushed her magic out and the ground and sidewalk swept up into an arc, thickening as the earth boiled up to create a wall taller than her. Aurelie continued curseing under her breath as she pushed the wall way up over her head and thicker with her motions in front of her, between her and the Hunter. Her eyes still on the wall she was frantically building she nodded.

Ted could actually feel the amount of magic being used, and he instantly jumped to his feet. Running in the general direction, he came across what looked to be a war zone. Only when he had stopped, did he get any kind of warning from Hideki.
{You moron. There are Hunters around here. Get your backside out of here before they find you in an unpowered state.} Not knowing what hunters were, exactly, other than a force to be reckoned with, he still ran. A voice yelling inside your head will make you do weird things. And so, he ran for all his might, straight to somewhere where he got lost.

Just as Paul came back out of the semi-silent McDonalds', he took note that someone was shooting air at Josh, who was charging someone entirely different. Either way, cover fire seemed necessary.
The first pistol shot went a little wide, screaming past Joe and blowing a beach-ball sized hole out of a wall behind him. Taking slightly more careful aim, Paul followed it up by tapping the button in the center of his 'Pod, firing three smallish blasts of fire downrange.

Joe saw the fireballs as it came scorching towards him and deftly spun them away with a cone of air. "What the hell?!" he cried. "The Hunters employ Warlocks?!" Roland said. Joe responded by firing four of his own fireballs back at the man.

Siber resigned himself to boredom until he could compose a better plan.
He sighed.
But he did it, focusing on his cardiac plexus and trying hard not to let Keldan see just why it was so strong.
