My hobbies: cooking/baking, Gaia, tabletop roleplay, collecting Judaica... I used to have more hobbies, but they all get so expensive.
Judaica is expensive.
A new tephilin - 1500 shekels
A menorah - 350 shekels
A mezuzah - 50 shekels
Some Kabbalah stuff - 100 shekels
The look on your dad's face when you come home with so much Judaica - Priceless
Yes, Judaica costs a lot. However, I don't need tefillin, and I've got all the mezuzot and cases that I need for now. What I collect now are things that I can get good use out of. I can always use another haggadah, more candlesticks, a new pretty towel for netilat yadayim, and so on.
