Just a little update on Ouran:
My brother went to Ani-Magic this past weekend and Vic and Aaron were there, and Vic said that auditions haven't started yet. Vic's also been trying to convice Aaron to audition for Ouran while Aaron doesn't even know the plot of Ouran. (I dunno if someone taped it, but according to my brother, when they asked if he knew what the plot was and he was like "uhh..." a girl threw a manga to him and he started flipping through it and then Vic said "Oh great, like we're really gonna wait for Aaron to read the whole manga before moving on to the next question." or somethin like that blaugh )

Amane318 Haruki-sama, I agree with pretty much your whole post 3nodding Btw, Laura Bailey's last main role was Sana in Kodocha where basically 75% of the audio in general is Sana talking/yelling/singing/being spazmodic. I really miss that show. She played a minor in Tsubasa too. I hope that Funimation doesn't think that since die-hard sub fans won't watch that they should just cast Vic as Tamaki just because the Rangers will probably support it. Anyone who's a Risembool Ranger has been hearing something about Ouran for at least a full year if not more since someone sent Vic an episode and he fell in love with the show and really wants to play Tamaki. Since then (if you peek around the forums) any thread regarding Vic's future roles and Ouran in general always get around to saying that Vic should play Tamaki, with a few exceptions (me being one of them) who say he should play Nekozawa, Kyouya, etc. I love Vic, and I would be excited if he played Tamaki, but that would be too obvious. I agree with you, it would be more interesting (and fun) if he played Nekozawa. I wonder about Eric Vale as Kyouya...

I'm kind of surprised at the continued lack of a voice cast announcement at this time. I know that anime often come out over a year after it has been licensed, but I would have thought they'd have at least casted the show by this point. I thought for sure they would have announced a cast at the New York Anime Festival.
Maybe now I can hope they'll announce it at Anime Boston...

Calica I'm kind of surprised at the continued lack of a voice cast announcement at this time. I know that anime often come out over a year after it has been licensed, but I would have thought they'd have at least casted the show by this point. I thought for sure they would have announced a cast at the New York Anime Festival. Maybe now I can hope they'll announce it at Anime Boston... I think Funi will wait until Anime Boston or... who knows maybe even Comic Con New York (lol). But lets see... they announced this during comic con in july... it takes about 9 months to dub an anime... and sometimes companies wait until three months prior to release or airing of the show to announce the cast. Funi has also been pretty strict with the VAs, sometimes they get so excited they tell someone, and before you know it, the whole fangroup knows who someone is playing, but now in days, I don't see that. So it might take a while before we know... hopefully no later than February

Amane318 I think the Risembool Rangers (Vic M.'s fangroup) kinda got to me with all their "ZOMG VIC SHOULD BE TAMAKI!!!"-ing... don't get me wrong, I think if he were cast as Tamaki he would do a great job, but I kinda wanna see some other VA's get in the spotlight for this. I couldn't agree with you more. I've been hoping that FUNi would get some new talent. People that we've never heard before or atleast VAs that haven't been cast for awhile. What I really hope for (and it probably won't happen) is John Burgmeier being cast as Tamaki. Why? Because he's very flexible and he's proven that he can play silly roles as well as serious ones. Plus, I don't really hear his voice that much unless I re-watch my YYH DVDs. He'd be perfect. There'd also be more of a chance that I'd get to see him at a Con if he were a lead role XDVic as Tamaki just doesn't sit well with me. I like some of the work that he's done, don't get me wrong, but I just want someone else. With that being said, I really don't want Momiji's VA to be Hunny's even though, yes, they are the same in the japanese. It's just too obvious. And I'm being way too picky about something that I don't even have a say in but, that's my opinion for you. The delay in the VA announcement is making me nervous for some reason....

Heh, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but hey, I have news lol.
At ALA 4 in Burbank this weekend, Vic said that auditions have not been held yet and should be held within the next four weeks.
eek
ya... now I'm kinda shocked.
then again there is the small chance that he's trying to keep all of the "how do u think u did?" questions from jynxing his chances, but who knows for sure? only funi, the directors, and everyone else there.

I'm getting anxious about this release. I can't believe they've gone so long without even announcing a cast. My friend and I are hoping they announce it at Anime Boston this weekend ^^; It would be so much fun to be there if they did!

If anyone wants a good preview of how Vic sounds as Tamaki, watch Princess Tutu. He is a very minor role (a filler character) But his character (Femio) is French, and is obsessed with love as well. Tamaki and Femio are so alike it's scary. But it might help as a preview of sorts. Johnny Young Bosch might be good as well, I get to see him at NoBrandCon! mrgreen

Ah, yes, Femmio is amazing ^_^ Two of my friends want to dress up as Tamaki and Femmio and have a Prince Battle at Anime Boston. How freaky would it be if Tamaki was done by Vic, too?
Still don't want him to play Tamaki, though...

I dunno if it's official or not, but my friend told me to check on the Ouran list since it says that Sonny Strait is playing Ryoji "Ranka" Fujioka. Nice to hear? Yes. Predictable... kinda.
But I'm skeptical since Funimation is totally a**l about VAs saying who they're playing before Funi's announcement or other signal that it's ok to start talking about it.
