Stresshog Takuha (In a scouse accent) Alright, Alright, calm down, calm down. Hehe, sorry. But asking someone to kick you in the crotch is pretty strong stuff. Pirpi-Chan did any of us expect to even like billie piper as a actress in it? that was pretty odd if you think about it. Oh, dude, I know. But she didn't immediately make me cringe the moment she came on screen like what Tate did when she appeared in the TARDIS... I don't know...the both made me want to chew my inner cheek...but to be honest the who of the new first series did..but Catherine Tate is just a bad comedian and a bad actress...I cannot quite understand how anyone could think bringing her back would be a good idea...

O.K, first off, she CAN do serious. But how serious do you with Doctor who is!? I mean, it's Doctor Who! Secondly, I LOVED her in the Xmas special. I thought she was fantastic. My only worry is I really couldn't see her ever joining the Doctor aboard the TARDIS, but I have faith that Ruffel Tea will think of something. I'm looking forward to her being a companion, and I trust her to hit the ground running and be good from episode one, as opposed to Martha, who took half the series to become any good.

I guess venting was needed... eh I spose I'll a have to wait for it to see how bad it's actually going to be, but I really... can't say that I'm looking forward to it... It's not so much Tate that I dislike, it's Donna, just her personality really, it's like she's in a constant bad mood. And so far series 3 has been a disappointment, in my opinion... *sits down and cries in corner*

Donna Noble's actually not that bad of a companion. She's vaguely reminiscent of Tegan from Davison's era... and the Doctor needs some not-totally-lovesick companion to keep him in line.
Besides, you don't know. Maybe the character's gotten better since she met the Doctor...

Fealinde Donna Noble's actually not that bad of a companion. She's vaguely reminiscent of Tegan from Davison's era... and the Doctor needs some not-totally-lovesick companion to keep him in line. Probably she said she'd even try to be better Besides after having her fiancee ya know betray her and the whole Racconos thing she probably has sweatdrop I know I would

I would also say give her even more chances. In my opinion. She did a great job in Christmas special episode. I never saw any of her show beside that doctor who Christmas special. It was so funny and I laugh a lot when watching that Christmas special in 2006.
I am a bit disappointed with no new companion but I would think the character Donna Noble still would be interesting. How she met 10th again? I just can't wait.
Just out of wonder, Cow Demon, you can't wait to see the coming episodes with this new companion (so you can get very annoyed and even more disappointed) OR you couldn't bother to wait because you won't watch the new series?

I REALLY HATE THE CATHERINE TATE SHOW
now that i've got that out...
I reckon she should be given a fair go. I like her character because it has room for development. They can actually do something with her - as much as I like martha theres not much you can really do with her character, she's too... yeah.
My only reservation is that Donna could out-personality the doctor any day.

While you're right(and I have therefore resigned myself to the "oh well, just going to have to wait and see" pit), I am seriously doubtful anyone included Catherine Tate in order to add in a deep, meaningful, developed character. I am also seriously doubtful anyone will make use of the opportunity because of this. As far as I can tell, market research said the kiddies like Tate, so the beeb shoved her into the christmas special for better ratings amongst the young. Hey, maybe we can sell some action figures. After all, Doctor Who is a television show.

Ahaha, I've watched it once or twice- all her skits are pretty much exactly the same every time, kinda like Little Britain but not as good... Eh there's always the chance she'll get eaten by something halfway through the series.

Does anyone miss the good old days when it was just Billie and Christopher? *sighs*
I am prepared to give Tate a chance, purely because i am glad to get rid of Martha Jones, and it would be a relief to have a companion that is not completely in love with the doctor. I'm still not convinced that the show will work with her, though.
