Oh and as for racisim. I find it more racist to have a black person. Besides. Look at all the controversy around Jynx from pokemon. It looked black and the black people took offense. Including a black would get people jumping down nintendo's throats again about steriotyping.

Including a black would get people jumping down nintendo's throats again about steriotyping. That is true, but I thought the troulbe with Jinx was with ganguro girls? Now that they put black people in RE5 everyone is screaming racism. Well, alls you do is shoot them so I guess I can understand some people gett ing mad, but in the end ITS A VIDEO GAME! How is a black person made of pixles and programs going to affect you in real life? You can't win because someone always wants something to b***h about. There are tons of female heroines in plenty of games. Of course the video game industry is biased, but thats because of the market which is their number one concern.

At the time that Nintendo established the Mario franchise, women didn't have that much say in anything, actually. We have seen that this fact has changed and while Princess Peach is often catpured, she is not always captured and viewed in a weaker role.
There are Nintendo games that feature her not getting kidnapped, or getting kidnapped, rescued, then seriously helping out through the game (Super Mario RPG; I loved her when I had leveled her up. She was resistant to magic!).
And if Nintendo was racist, then everyone would be Asian, no? If they were racist, then they would have to be racist against themselves since it would seem that they placed the white man above themselves.
And...how many different ethnicities does one usually see in Japan? Asian, some white, and not as many others. Sometimes they don't think about changing the ethnicities of their characters and, to most gamers, it doesn't matter.
Some people many still be racist, yes, and while I am black, a minority, I'm not going to be racist also just because someone else is. I'm not racist, but...I do find Asian guys cuter than any other ethnicity. whee But then again, there is the perfect American face that I've seen once...in New York...he was so cute...

I'm not racist, but...I do find Asian guys cuter than any other ethnicity. whee But then again, there is the perfect American face that I've seen once...in New York...he was so cute... That, I totally agree on. It does make sense. Therefore, YOU ALREADY KNOW that Nintendo is not racist and sexist. I don't understand why people even bother with this if the person who started this fiasco doesn't have the evidence to back themselves up. In my opinion, I don't really care. If the storyline's good and the game's fun to play, I could care less about the details until later. The only thing that matters to me most, is if the game satisfies me, I'll like it. FangzV Oh and as for racisim. I find it more racist to have a black person. Besides. Look at all the controversy around Jynx from pokemon. It looked black and the black people took offense. Including a black would get people jumping down nintendo's throats again about steriotyping That's another thing I don't understand. Why would everyone get so offended if someone included a black person? I don't get it! Why? There's something called "laugh at yourselves?" Heck, I'm hispanic and I laugh at the latino jokes! And even if it's not that, taking the Jynx example, So what? It's black. Deal with it! You don't see it do anything else but cast spells. Do regular ordinary people do that? I think not. They need to calm the heck down and just watch the anime or play the game. As long as the developers are not degrading stereotypes, it should be fine. There should be no need to get all huffy and puffy about something that may seem sexist or may seem racist... when it's actually not!

Nintendo isn't insulting other races, so I don't see that as racism, and as mentioned before, Super Princess Peach kills your point.

I don't really care about whether games are racist/sexist/etc... I just play games because they're fun. Some people take things way too seriously.

I don't think mario games are racist or sexist. It's just sort of "normal" for the male charecter to rescue the femal charecter.
In our world a lot less people would play the game if a male charecter rescued another male charecter. (No offence to anyone)
But I do think on some games such as Gears of war, and games like that, they should put on female charecters. It's not fair that a female should "have" to play as a male.
