Ah, Twilight. Bane of my sanity. It's my ultimate guilty pleasure. It's like a bad car crash to me: it's awful, it's painful, but I CAN'T LOOK AWAY. Ack. Personally, Edward does nothing me. A whiny emo vampire who can't even make a proper commit? No sir. I used to like Jacob... and then I read Eclipse. Ugh.

Probably the thing that drives me insane is the fact Meyer knows no other synonyms for "cold, white, had" than "marble" or "alabaster". And "angelic "is overused.

The plots, to me, are fairly obviously. And it doesn't help that I hate Bella. Bloody slut.

And yet, I'll be borrowing the next book (if only to mock it mercilessly) and seeing the movie (to Mystery Science Theater 3000 it). Ah well.

I know this is a fan thread...

...but you people seriously need to get over these books. They suck. How many times does she need to repeat "marble" to describe Edward's skin? I counted at least 20 times in Twilight. And why does everyone swoon over Edward? Just because he "sparkles" in the sun? stare

I laugh at you people. rofl <-----me laughing

Now, Anaphora, let's play nice. Everyone's intitled to their own opinions... even if they're wrong

But serious, what's the attraction to Edward? "Oh, woe is me, I'm a vampire in love with a human. I must screw with her head, and be matyr. Oh, woe is me."

I know this is a fan thread...

Exactly, this IS a fan thread, so no one here is going to change their minds because you AREN'T a fan. If you want to critique the Twilight books, you'd be better off making a separate thread for it, because this is not the place for negative remarks against these books.

Anyway, I'd have to say the first book is my favorite. Before Jacob was in the picture, and introducing all the other characters. I really loved the ending, too, with the Bella/James part. There wasn't enough Edward in New Moon, and there was too much jerkified Jacob in Eclipse.
