"I'll kick you hard if you keep poking me with your horn!" Blackfire panted out, but continued fleeing in the direction Meshach told her. "Stop trying to act like a big, bad stallion! You're still little like me!" she accused, urging her legs to move faster, but it was hard with her wings heavy from the splashing from when they were playing earlier. "I can't... believe... this...!!!"

Between ragged breaths, she managed to burst out into the open, like the trees giving way to one of the most beautiful things she had ever seen. She had never seen the beach before... however, the looming danger didn't give her time to admire the sparkling ocean, or the soft sand. After a moment of shock, she dashed like mad down the beach, hoping Meshach was right behind her.

Meshach followed her. He had never been on the beach either but had heard about it before. He had been told it was beautiful and there was no doubt about that it was amazing! Though like Blackfire he kept running.

"Go in the water... in the water."

He ran and ran and then slided. It wasn't easy to run on sand. He made it to the water and ran out as far as he could without swimming and then turned around. He could see the bear but it hadn't left the shadows of the forest. Maybe it didn't like the sand. It was terrible to walk on!

He just panted and looked to Blackfire before smiling, "Well thats my day's exercise! Wow that was scary and my heart is beating like crazy!" He didn't mention how he would love do it again. It may have been scary but it was also fun!

Blackfire had dashed into the water like Meshach, but unlike him, had collasped into the water next to him, relieved the bear hadn't managed to catch up to them. She shivered, and shut her eyes tight. She had been so scared... so scared... Her body was quivering with so much aftershock she couldn't stop herself.

Meshach seemed find though, from the way he sounded. Opening her eyes, she saw that he was smiling, and then his next words had her astounded. "You don't sound like you're scared!" she said in a small voice, though she did secretly admire him. He had been very brave, if a bit pushy, when it came to it.

"If that's your day's exercise then that was my day's fright!" she said, turning to see if the bear still lurked somewhere in the far off forest. Suddenly, it hit her that she didn't know where she was, now. How would she find her parents again if she was all the way out here? It was hard enough navigating through the forest let alone being out here in the open!

She kept these thoughts to herself, however, as she thought about her day. It had been a crazy day, starting off with her falling into the clear water of the pond. She shook her head, happy to realize she had had fun, and that it wasn't boring as she had thought it would be. She grinned back at Meshach. "That was really scary! I think my heart stopped and I dropped it back there!" she exclaimed, tail swishing back and forth in the water.

"Oh I was scared, really scared." He was actually surprised that he had been so scared but then he guessed it was normal if they had stayed where they were they would be in that bears stomach now. Eww!

He looked down at her and smiled, "Ya know for a girl your not all that bad." She should be privileged he didn't say things like that often. Girls were bad and yucky and deserved to be mushy bear food but Blackfire was ok, for now anyway.

"If you left your heart out there then it can stay there. I don't want to be that things dinner! We are going to need to find a way to get off this beach anyway. I haven't been here before. I had just heard about it from father." He looked along the forest and decided they had to go back in whether they wanted to or not.

"Maybe if we walk along and enter the forest further along it will be okay? I don't think the bear will follow us." At least he hoped not, otherwise they were trapped on the beach.

She rolled her eyes at Meshach. He acted like he knew everything! Well, in a way, he did, which was part of what was bothering her. "You were hardly scared if you were trying to poke me with your horn! That thing hurts, you know!" She was glad it hadn't been very sharp, because for all she knew she could have a wound from when Meshach had rammed her so hard on the side.

She stood up, if a bit shakily, and stared nervously at the forest. She turned when she thought she heard Meshach say something (which he did, but she hadn't been paying attention and had missed the compliment) and looked at him blankly. "Huh? Sorry, I missed what you said earlier. Can you say that again?" When he mentioned going back to the forest, she looked at him like he was crazy. "You're kidding!" she almost--almost--whined.

"If we walk along don't you think that bear would follow us?" she asked in a small voice. "What do you mean it won't follow!? Of course it can! It has a nose!" She looked at Meshach again as if he'd gone insane. "I wish my dad was here; he'd get rid of that bear! But he's not and you are, and since you're a boy, shouldn't you be doing something???" She was repeating herself and also being unrealistic (her terror could speak for it) but Blackfire really didn't trust going near the forest until she was sure the bear had left.

Meshach didn't repeat what he said and was glad she hadn't heard it, now she was being annoying.

"UGH!"

He turned away from her and ran along the beach before running into the forest, he ran through some of the trees, going round in a circle or two before heading back to the beach.

"You coming?"

As he reached her he laughed.

"Haven't a clue where that bear is but it isn't along there, so if you want to get back to the dad who will protect you go in there." He was a little sharp. He was really annoyed that she wasn't thinking properly. Why did he think she was okay? She was worse then his sister.

She huffed at him. He was being stupid again! Whatever, as long as there wasn't a bear about to try and eat her. "Why are you acting weird again!?" she demanded as she ambled slowly after him.

She was tired after the long run they had through the forest, and wasn't planning on running anymore. She could barely stand and walk, for Epona's sake! She rolled her eyes at him. "I'm coming! Geez, boys and their weirdness..." she muttered the last part.

"Well, if the bear isn't around, then let's go! Fast!" Finding she wasn't tired anymore, she dashed past him and towards the forest, eager to get home, or at least, to get somewhere where it wasn't as hot. The beach was nice, and a bit breezy, but she was getting tired of the smell of salt water.

"Me acting weird?" How stupid were girls, seriously!

He followed her back up to the forest but he didn't rush why would he? There wasn't any reason to rush and he was quite happy to wander about, after all she was being stupid and just wanted to get home so why keep up with her? He didn't want to see her family. They sounded stupid.

"You always act weird!" she snickered, and then her stomach growled. She sighed. "I'm hungry. Are you hungry?" she looked back at Meshach. "All the running and splashing and playing really gets to you."

At this point she actually really didn't care of he was annoying, weird, or turned into a parrot: she was tired, a bit grumpy, and hungry. Her stomach growled again, and she began to look around to see if she could spot something to eat.

She suddenly found herself face first into the ground. Did she collapse? Probably... She was so tired, and sleepy, and hungry...
PostPosted: Fri Jul 27, 2007 11:47 am

Meshach saw her collapse and sighed walking on a little until he was able to find a bush to rip some branches from. It didn't take him long to find some but it did take a while to get them off.

When he finally got them off, he took them back to Blackfire and lowered them by her mouth before nudging them towards her. He couldn't make her eat them but at least they were there if she did eat them.

Did this mean he was suppose to look after her now? Ugh!

When Blackfire opened her eyes to find some food in front of her, she went at it like a ferocious tiger. Well, she was hungry, but then... how did the food get to her? She looked around, spotted Meshach, and then looked away again, feeling more embarrassed than ever. "Uh..." she started, and then said, "...Thanks, Meshach."

Still, though. To have a boy take care of her? How weak was she!? She felt so ashamed! Really wanting to get the heck away from this dream turned nightmare, she moved on to silent sulking, hating that she was being taken care of. She was still tired, but she also now felt guilty because Meshach was forced to keep an eye out for her, and well, that was worse.

He was still just a foal like her, and as such, it wasn't fair to him at all. She felt like a baby now, and she had to force herself to keep from crying frustrated tears. It wouldn't do for Meshach to see her crying at all: he'd only call her stupid and laugh at her again, and she didn't want that right now. She wasn't in the mood.

Meshach nodded when she said thank you.

He watched her for a while and then went towards her and nudged her softly, "You should probably get up. We can go and find some water that will help get you up." He was going to be patient, he wasn't normally but he would just feel really bad if he left her and he guessed that she didn't like being so helpless so the best thing to do was rather simple, get her back on her feet.

She jumped when he made contact with her when he nudged her, but nodded. Carefully, she got on her legs, thankful that her wings had finally dried out so that they felt light again. It had been very tough running with heavy, wet wings.

"Okay," was all she said, wondering suddenly why he was being so nice. Unless he thought he was being a big hero or something, but she somehow doubted that. Oh, well. She shrugged to herself, and looked at Meshach to lead the way.
PostPosted: Fri Jul 27, 2007 12:11 pm

Meshach led the way he knew the forest reasonably well so it didn't take them long to come across a small pond. He stood back a little and let her get to it, he was planning on pushing her in anyway. At least then she might drink enough.

"Go on then, take a drink."

She nodded, thinking he was still being nice, and stepped towards the small pond, thinking a nice drink would do very nicely. She bent her head down towards the water as she began to drink slowly, carefully. If she drank too fast, she'd get sick, and she wasn't counting on getting sick as being added to the list of the crazy day she had been through. The sun was sinking lower much quicker now, too, an indication for her to head home soon.
