Habu smiled more genuinely when she seemed to brighten up as she spoke about her time with her father. He'd been old enough when his mother left that he hadn't need to rely on his father for too much and had spent a good deal of his time wandering around looking for distractions or a friend he still wasn't able to find. However, his father was always there for him, he always had been and Wahabu hoped he always would be.

"It must be harder not living in a pride," he commented, referring mostly to the hunting, "But I'll bet you're close to your father." Habu could only guess that if you had only your family with you all the time, and not a pride to go to, that you would get closer and closer to that family.

"I'm not rely sure." She said when he mentioned living with a pride. "I've never been in a pride. It's just been my parents and I." Se said as she tried to think what it would be like to live in a pride. She tried to think what it would be like to have many lionesses hunting to feed the whole pride.

"I was close with him." She didn't want him to know what had happened to her father. He didn't want her to feel sorry for her, or let him think that she had a troubled past. It didn't matter what it was like. She wouldn't have traded it for anything in the world.

"Well, when you have a pride you have a lot of help in hunting if you need it, and you can almost always find someone to talk to or play with," he explained with a slight shrug, and tried to stifle a tired yawn. With a quick shake of his head to try to get himself back to full attention, he smiled a bit when she said she was close to her father. He didn't even really pick up that the 'was' implied something had happened, for all he knew she was just out on her own for now- which seemed to be the case based on their conversation.

"That's good," he nodded, still wearing a slight smile.

"Being in a pride sounds like fun." She said with a slight laugh. "Maybe I should try to join one." She knew it'd be harder than it sounded, but she thought she'd have a little fun with him. Most of their conversation had been serious. She thought she'd lighten the mood.

"Well, I've always been in a pride," Habu said, puffing up with mock pride over the declaration, "And I think it's a lot of fun. This pride is so big that even when you're bored it shouldn't take unreasonably long to meet someone new or interesting. And there are a lot of rogues around, too- like you're here now." Habu bragging up his own pride and home was only partially intentional. After all, it was what he knew best and this pride was definetely not one of the secretive, small prides that were out in that jungle or by those mountains.

"I like it, anyway," he concluded with a nod.

She laughed, "Sounds like it gives a lot of opportunities to meet new people." She said as she readjusted her position in the grass.

She looked over to the watering hole, and saw the light blue and yellow's in the sky as the sun started to rise. "Would you look at that..." She said with amazement. "It's morning already." Jina looked back over to Habu, "It doesn't seem like we've been talking for that long."

Wahabu nodded about meeting new people, "Aside from my family, I've met a lot of other lions and seem to be having a hard time finding some of them again." He thought briefly of Kubwa, who had been gone for a long, long time. Habu blinked, and at first didn't realize what Jina was looking at when she commented on the sky- but when she said morning, his eyes moved to the sky.

"Wow," he muttered, and also looked back to Jina, "I guess time flies when you're having fun." Some of the conversation had been a little sad or slow, but that certainly didn't change his opinion that it had been a good way to spend the night.

"Guess your right." Jina glanced back over to the horizon, the African safari was her home. She wouldn't trade it for anything.

She let out a large yawn, a roar emitted from her mouth. "It's been a long night." She stood, and stretched. "I'm going to go see if the den I grew up in is still there." She said with slight fatigue. "It was nice meeting you Wahabu." she smiled.

Habu considered standing up as well, but decided he was quite comfortable where he was for a moment- though it was not hard to tell that she was going to leave now. He offered a smile when she said she was going to go den-hunting.

"It was nice to meet you, Jina," he agreed, "Hopefully I'll see you around again. Good luck finding the den." Finally, Habu got up to his feet to bid farewell properly, and because he knew he should probably head home himself.
