It's Lawliet and to prove it go to google and type in Death Note and look for wilbiblography or something like that. Once you click it you go down and look for L's name.

If U really watch the anime, that is what Light calls him in public. That way it wouldn't be so weird to call someone L. In private Light then calls him L.
