He breathed an inward sigh of relief. There was one less thing for him to worry about then.

He frowned of course, when Sun refused the offer, and then bit down any comment he was going to add. Sunstrike hated being restricted to 'human' form as it was, always afraid of how people would accept him...so he must likewise hate the idea of further covering himself up...free spirit and all.

OR he chafed real easy.

Vahn smirked and just shook his head a bit.

"Well, Reiyvian, if you'd be so kind as to make sure we both get what we ask for--- I'll make sure Sun is finished healing so everyone can get out of here in one piece."

It was both reasons, actually, but hell if he'd say that out loud. Clothes in general were itchy...the only time they served purpose for him was in winter...evil foul stuff that snow was. Technically he was built with enough internal warmth to walk around naked in the snow, too, but just because that was the case didn't make it COMFORTABLE.

He did raise an eyebrow at the last sentence, but let it slide for now with a grin. Sun himself was being remarkably good considering his surroundings at the moment. A lot of the chemestry that was built in had very base desires that responded to temperature. It had explained the behavior in the desert, his behaviour towards Vahn, and, well, his behaviour here.

Sun wasn't sure how long his control would last, and a vast array of embarassing situations could arise if he didn't shut up and stay slightly out of the way. Rei might be understanding of the circumstances, but he was pretty sure that his pride would never forgive him, let alone Vahn's.

Reiyvian was a healer as well as a priestess. She had practiced keeping a neutral face for longer than most had been alive. So when Vahn implied they needed privacy, her face gave nothing away.

However, she did have concerns about Vahn's mortal body, being exposed to such intense temperatures, never mind the added heat they were about to raise of their own volition.

She looked at them both, her voice holding an edge of seriousness.

"All right... But I can only give you thirty minutes alone together. After that Vahn, you need to come topside, I'll be down to bring you back up. It's risky enough leaving you down here for any longer... But, well. He DOES need the healing."

She smiled and began to make her way up the stairs and to the enchanted lift. A few moments later, it was just Sun and Vahn left alone in the Val os Thosi.

"So."

The single word was spoken after a stretch of silence which had him staring at the closed entrance and the space that had been occupied by Reiyvian.

"In all seriousness..." He seemed to stare towards the door a bit more, before finally turning and taking in the redhead. "You know...this isn't going to be just one our regular walk abouts...right? There's a lot riding on things this time around...and I'm not so quite sure we can just hope everything falls into place on its own..."

He was admitting what he honestly wouldn't in public, or at least in the presence of anyone else besides Sunstrike.

"In all honesty... I've been feeling more and more..morbid I suppose... or ..." Scared. "Anyways..." He shook his head, moving towards the redhead.

"I'm... I am sorry for running off..." Apparently I run away from a lot of people... "And I really didn't..think you'd be in any danger..." Which everyone around me is always in apparently. "And..I really just missed you."

He seemed to finally let it all hang in the air now, as he placed both arms down and stood there like a wooden soldier. The thin plumes of heat that came off the top of his head just added to the humorous depiction.

Sunstrike

PostPosted: Thu Sep 13, 2007 11:06 am

And the silence stretched.

Sun was surprised that Vahn was the first to fill it, and watched as the obviously uncomfortable man moved forward and stuttered to a halt.

What the heck could he do in the face of all that? To deny Vahn the chance to just be himself and battle, Sun couldn't in good conscious tell him not to, or that it was wrong. Because it wasn't. He desperately wanted to comfort his friend, but that was selfish, because there were only a few things he could offer.

"We..."

He faltered, looking at the serious face. Sun sighed at the smoke, one problem at a time. The red head moved, and met Vahn's rigid pose, resting both his arms over the shoulders of his friends in a lazy way. The heat started to seep away, as the salamander pulled at the atmosphere, making Vahn's defenses stronger simply by being in the same space.

"I knew that I'd be making your life harder by being in it, I didn't quite take into consideration how much so until..."

Until she had stood over Vahns body and met Sun's horrified eyes with amused ones. They had lost Sierra so easily...and the guilt cut deep across both men.

"I've made you weaker in ways that I never imagined I would be able to. We're supposed to be the stronger side here...right? I know the risks, because I've been there at the start of it all. And the one thing that hasn't changed...is that we still doubt ourselves so much."

He shook his head in frustration and then actually pressed his forehead against Vahn's. He wanted to touch, to hold, to...but his hands stayed relaxed in the open air, keeping away from the hair, the neck the back...Sun wanted to be sure that he absolutely got the point across.

"I am not here to be rescued, or pitied, or a stumbling block for you Vahn. You shouldn't be apologizing to, or for, me, or feeling as though you need to explain yourself every single time you fall off the path. You do not."

His arms trembled, and with the last words he stopped short, a quick intake of breath showing how uncomfortably, comfortable, he was to being so close. Sun was angry, ready to fight, to argue, and he wasn't. He was ready to drag Vahn off for sex, and...he wasn't. So the emotions went full circle.

"Ah hell Vahn...you should go..." Not the best of answers to someone that's admitted how much they cared about you being around...he'd kick himself later when he had more control. Something told Sunstrike that taking Vahn against his will wouldn't add gold stars next to his name on the dark man's list, either.

He lifted his arms, stepping reluctantly away, hugging himself and rubbing the skin as if cold...in the middle of a volcano. The irony probably wouldn't be lost. Sun was sick and tired of fighting with his body like it belonged to someone else. Not that the desires weren't his own, but he was sure most people had less trouble squashing them when serious things needed discussing.

What's next? Marking my freaking territory?! Healing was beginning to have it's downsides.

"...." He stood there, listening and just keeping his head slightly lowered.

It wasn't that he was ashamed of looking Sun in the eye. Just that he was busy beating himself up at the moment.

He hated being conflicted like this... but he felt happy when he was with the salamander, and happy when he had been with Sierra.

Was it wrong to feel the same with two different people...?

Was he suppose to walk off a cliff, or hang himself now...?

He watched as Sun wrapped his arms around himself and seemed to start drawing into himself, and before he knew it he found himself stepping forward and wrapping darkly tanned arms around warm flesh.

"I already said... I'm not going anywhere with out you." He leaned his head in, lips touching softly against the bend of a neck.

I don't care if I can't figure out whats right... as long as I make everyone happy... and myself..then where's the harm...? Or the cost...

He loved Sierra and he loved Sunstrike.

There was no getting around it.

Sunstrike

PostPosted: Fri Sep 14, 2007 11:32 am

Sunstrike made a solidly uncomfortable sound when the dark arms encircled him, raising his own arms above his head, as if afraid that he'd accidentally touch Vahn more. He doesn't understand...!? The lips on his neck nearly undid Sun completely.

"Vahn..."

No.

There was no nearly about it, that soft kiss was it. Sun's control was completely gone by the time he turned around and leaned into that other form. He lowered his hands to the messy dark hair and practically glared at Vahn as he took what he wanted. Why should the other man have to understand?

The kiss was violent, fists holding Vahn in place by his hair, and Sun's form shoved up against his friends. It was possessive, bruising, and angry, all of the frustration of the past few months escaping in an unlikely, and heated, way.

"Mmpth---!"

Yellowed eyes widened even as hands came up, fingers spreading as surprise from the intensity of his friend's reaction washed over him.

It was familiar, yet still thrilling in a way. His heart started beating faster, his arms relaxing, and his stance slackening.

This heat...

It was as if just by touching, the static between them shot up and the air thinned severely.

This touch...dammit...foggin everything..

He pressed and, and let himself drift into the rising heat, the feeling of discomfort giving way to circumstance.

Thirty minute's....

There just wasn't going to be enough time, not for everything. But Sun would make the most of what he had. Not to do so would diminish his, and Vahn's, feelings.

Times like these he didn't think about whether or not he was supposed to be there, or whether he was taking Vahn's soul a bit at a time, just that it felt right. The reactions, the movements, felt natural. The knowledge that he'd been created specifically for the purpose of being so, faded, along with the knowledge that it was all just a carefully laid trap for Vahn.

The other man's acceptance didn't ease the pressure, just helped to enforce it as Sun took him over. He did it even if the result would strengthen the weak supports, do some good, or completely crumble the other man's mind, destroying everything in it's wake. He just didn't care anymore.

Selfishness incarnate.

But you couldn't have passion without some self satisfaction. Maybe, when Sierra returned to herself, and Vahn got his sense back, Sun would lose all this, but he'd be damned if he didn't leave something of himself to be remembered by.

Thirty minutes...

It never was enough. It was a gaping hole in his chest..even as he finished pulling on the remains of his shirt, his back pressed up against Sun's own back.

The passage of time had gone by marked solely by how the noises and heat that had filled the chamber, only to still and echo out the steady flow of liquid heat around and beneath them.

"......" He seemed to be trying to bore a hole into the very hardened floor of the platform they were both on. The sinking sensation in his heart wouldn't go away...as if something were going to change...that none of them could prevent.

Thirty minutes..and I would give anything to simply stay with you like this...for..

Sunstrike

PostPosted: Wed Oct 17, 2007 1:44 pm

Sunstrike hunched much like Vahn, elbows on knees, and toying with a bit of burnt white cloth, probably one of the remnants of the other mans shirt. Vahn's back felt warm against his own, and he flushed in embarrassment.

"I..." He cleared his throat and tried again. "I'm sorry about your clothes, I honestly have more control then that...usually..." Sighing softly he suddenly relaxed and leaned more heavily against the form behind him, almost draping himself against the curve of a dark tanned back.

"Actually, no, I don't, but sorry anyway. Are you going to be okay?"

Sun would sell what soul he had left to have more time with the other man. He just wanted to run off and forget about this place, forget all the ties they'd both acquired in their time there. Sun was thinking of suggesting as much.

"Vahn..."

It was already a mark past her thirty minute deadline...There was no way that either man could tell the exact passage of time so far beneath the earth, engulfed in the heat of their passion... the heat that filled the sunless cavern. It was the ebbing of that heat that told Reiyvian it was about as safe as it was going to get to retrieve Vahn. Of course, there was no real danger... except to someone's ego or sensibilities. But despite being a high priestess and daughter of the light... nudity did nothing to make the elven woman uncomfortable. For one of her goddess gifts, had been the gift of healing. The human(oid) body was no cause for shame or embarrassment. It was easy for her to remove herself from seeing a naked man the way a normal woman might.

As it was, when she descended into the blazing depths once more, nothing that wasn't chaste so much as stirred in her mind as she beheld the disrobed men. She had not brought Sunstrike food, she knew it would be a wasted gesture, but she did bring garments. As she reached them she met their eyes easily as if this were an everyday occurrence and held out a bundle of cloth and leather to each.

"Temporary clothes, Your new wardrobe will be ready in the morning... the armour at the end of the week."

She smiled at them both. For sun, a robe something like a house coat, had been prepared. As she suspected that in privacy clothes would not be needed nor appreciated. So instead she handed him something that could be slipped on quickly if company greeted him, unlikely that anyone but she and Vahn should need to come down here... but he would have to journey above ground again come morning. And she couldn't have any of the healing staff fainting at such a sight. Although... she imagined Sunstrike might enjoy such a reaction. The robe was made of a white material so soft it felt as if you could wrap yourself in it and be lost to comfort forever. It was stitched with threads in hues of red, gold and orange... colours of flame and indeed the intertwined braid that ran along the hem and cuffs of the robe glittered like a dancing fire... almost as if the thread itself was alight.

Vahn on the other hand, was handed a pair of black leather breeches. Form fitting as most elven clothes were. The ebony leather Seemed plain at first, but upon closer inspection... a flame pattern was stamped into the leather as if fire raced upwards from the ankles and licked towards the thighs. The boots she brought him hugged the calves and were made of soft leather, also dyed black. The boots were stitched subtly in gold and were belted in place by a strap around the heel and two across the shins. The shirt, made of cloth the colour hearts blood, was sleeveless and would fall to the thighs. It was designed to be cinched in place by a sword belt, and as such, a belt crafted of black leather and stamped in gold leaf completed his newest outfit.

She would have turned away to let them have some semblance of privacy as they robed themselves, speaking over her shoulder...

"By your courtesy Sunstrike, I would have you rest here 'til new morn and then I shall see for myself if you are well enough to begin light preperations for the times ahead and what training exercises will be permitted for the time being."

She knew that Vahn and Sunstrike would need to prepare to meet their enemy... an enemy that was by default the enemy of all of Gaia's children... for what Victor proposed to do, threatened existence itself. And while it was important that they were equipped and skilled to meet whatever obstacles they met... It would do nobody any good if Sunstrike inadvertently delayed his recovery by doing too much too soon. Sun... by the look in her eyes would know that the healer had taken over and would have no arguing from her patient despite the healers orders being stated in the form of a request.

She turned to Vahn next,

"As for you... you are needed for measurements at the armoury. We cannot have your armour be a thing that ill-fits you. There is also much to be discussed... if you will?"

She turned toward the stairs once more.

"You know me, Sun. I'll be fine no matter what." Lips pressed against the cheek of the redhead softly.

"......"

His head turned sideways, glancing at the intrusion as he felt the presence of someone.

It always seemed his abilities were more fine tuned when he was relaxed... or was it simply because of the proximity of Sunstrike...? It was true, that because he had a part of Sun's self trapped within his own body--- that he couldn't utilize his full potential, probably not ever-- so he wasn't ever really sure what he was completely capable of-- aside from the memories of what happened in Guldor.

"....Mm." He draped an arm around Sun's neck now, looking towards Reiyvian even as the mood picked up a beat. "Well, we can't exactly turn down free clothing now can we?"

He was reminded that his old clothing had met an decidedly untimely fate with the flames that they both had produced in their coupling. Not too mention that he typically went through a lot of clothing as it was because of his ability.
