After shouting "ECHO!" for the fifth time, Skip turned to Vixen, and acknowledged her question. "Um... yeah, right sounds fine. I'm good with whatever," he said, shrugging.

Two to whatever Emerald chose. Unless she chose right also. In which case, the vote is unanimous and the I's have it. Vixen began walking again, this time directing her path towards the designated area. Cave traveling seemed very prolonged. Well, it was better than fleeing Ellisent's grasp. In fact, anything was better than that. Knawing off her own ankle or breaking her thumbs completely off sounded joyful compared to Ellisent's grasp.

Emerald looked off at the rest of the round room...she personally wanted to explore it some more. Oh well, no time ********! ******** little...furry turtle-looking things burrowed out of the sandy floor. They didn't show any signs of faces or features besides a fur-covered shell and four slowly scuffling feet...they looked hostile, though...

[A note: The letters at the bottom are a fight order. Skip, Emerald, Vixen, Mite1, Mite2, Mite3. Sorry if I didn't make that clear.]

Skip looked tentatively at these faceless foes. Hm... didn't look like they would be able to poison him that easily. Trying to be cautious while doing so, Skip took his blade, and stabbed in a downward direction at the head of the nearest one.

Like they previously observed, no head was visible. So, he stabbed into the shell...it seemed like the mere pressure of his blow did more than the actual piercing effect of the blade...

[Let me clarify. Due to variances in AGI (agility), people have to attack in a certain order, making this a "turn-based" fight. Skip, with the highest, fights first. He posts. Then Emerald. I post. THEN Vixen. You post. Then the mites. I post. That's what the "order" of the battle means. It's all turn-based.]

[That helps.]
Fur burned. It burned rather quickly, actually, and left a horrid stench. Vixen remembered that guard dog. It had burned. Maybe these would too.

Now that was more like it.
(84 damage)
(-6 MP)
The thing erupted in a ball of flame and died...it had practically turned to dust. Cool.

But now the others struck. With force.
The second mite simply attacked Vixen in a fit of revenge...
<> to Vixen
(39 damage!)
The third one, seeing the ineffectiveness of this move, made some form of communication with the other and, in a blaze of motion, catapulted itself off the other's back, aiming straight for Vixen's face. It didn't end well.
<> to Vixen
(89 damage!)
The shock hurt both parties...and paralyzed the mite...but it was okay. He'd served his purpose.

Skip noted that the third one was not moving all that much, and tried to take advantage of it. He put his foot down on the thing to keep it still, and then began stabbing it all over, trying to find a weak spot, and hoping that it wouldn't retaliate too badly. < > to Mite 3

[This means that the improvized move you chose was great and will do extra damage. MINUS means, well...less.]
Stabbing did a little more damage...but now he could tell that there were no weak spots under the shell...it would have to be broken or something...
(10 damage!)
Sensing that most of her attacks would serve no purpose, and noticing the effectiveness of Vixen's fireball, she decided to help out her teammate.
Wringing her hands again, she let the worried voices flood back into her head...they filled her with power...she closed her eyes and silently wished away the demoness' wounds...
<> to Vixen
(+ 76 HP!)
(-6 MP)
Yeah. She knew her role.

That was rather nice of Emerald. At least Vixen didn't have to worry about death or dying for this trip. The stench of the first mite filled her nostrils. It was disgusting and she adored it. Wanting this smell to be in abundance, she turned to the second mite.
