Torment watched in silence as the beautiful mare drew herself out of the forest and into view. Her skin was painful to the eye to see, just like Tarnish's skin, and her hair was pink and magenta... colors very similar to both herself and Taint.
So this was a Mother, and not just any mother, but her Mother. Loveless had told her so many horrible things about her own... but how could something so beautiful looking be so horrible?
She took a step closer, eyeing the mare carefully. Father had amusement in his voice when he addressed her; that wasn't a good sign, at least, not for her.
"M...mother?" she asked, staring at the candied mare, as if awaiting assurance that yes indeed, this was the creature that birthed her and her two brothers.

A snarl drew upon her face, and cold pink eyes met with empty hollow black ones. Why was he doing this to her... couldn't he leave well enough alone? He had gotten what he wanted, hadn't he? So why return and rub this in her face.
She wouldn't let him get away with this mockery he was presenting her with. These foals hadn't the faintest idea what danger they were in, despite the looming guardian standing nearby. Plague's priorities were himself, and himself alone. The foals obviously benefited him in some way, but that reason was still a mystery to Diabetia, but she'd figure it out.
Stepping forward, she continued to hold her head high, unwilling to look upon the spawn that had been created within her own body.
"What are you doing here, Plague?" She asked bluntly.

He could feel that ugly snarl curving his lips still and, try as he may, he couldn't keep it at bay. For the first time in what Plague would have called his 'pathetic existance' he felt almost motivated to stop his sister before she did something that he considered stupid. He fought that feeling that was far too close to 'nice' for his liking, standing back and watching. Torment would learn from this... Just as they learned from everything that Father did to them.

Amusement danced in the mutant's eyes as he watched the kalona struggle to keep calm, and ignored the foals as they watched on in curiosity. It was no longer about them, it was about him, and it was about her. Movement shifted in the corner of his eye, and he watched as Torment stepped forward, closer to her mother. Stupid girl. She'd learn her lesson soon enough, knowing Diabetia.
"What else would I be doing here, Sweetness?" he asked, averting his eyes back to meeting with the mare's dark pink ones. "I wanted you to meet your little ones. They've been dying to get to know you, from all I've spoken about you."

He didn't like this Mother thing. She carried herself much like Father did but there was something different about it. He didn't know what yet but he'd figure it out before they left her company. Hopefully he'd figure many things out before they left her company.
Stopping beside his Father's front legs he watched her converse with him. He saw Torment move out of the corner of his eye but mostly ignored her. If she was going to get too far ahead and get herself killed that wasn't his problem. That was hers.

She ignored the conversation going on between the two adults, and stepped yet another foot closer towards the mare. If her brothers were too chicken to investigate, that was their issue, not hers. She wanted to know more about this white mare, and why she looked so familiar. Had they ever met before?
Her nose scrunched up as the sweet smell became even more powerful, the closer she drew to the kalona. She wasn't afraid of getting hurt... she was still far enough away. Or at least, she assumed she was.

Dia watched the filly out of the corner of her eye, only half listening to Plague's response. She knew he was there to taunt her, she wasn't stupid. This foal, on the other hand, was, and was going to get what was coming to her.
Her eyes widened a bit, remembering that fateful day by the riverside. She had intended to devour her firstborn in the beginning, when Plague had swooped in and rescued them. Perhaps it was fate that had given her the opportunity to finish what she had first started out to do.
Without a second thought, the somewhat calm expression turned hideous as she pushed off her hooves and lunged towards the filly, her mouth open and snarling, fangs ready to bite down as close to the filly's neck as possible. She wouldn't hurt the foal... she was going to KILL the foal. And she'd be damned to have Plague stop her again!

Torment might have been too stupid to see what was going on but he wasn't. He saw this Mother lunge at his sister. His nostrils flared as he charged forward, intending to butt Torment out of the way with his shoulder. If anyone was going to kill her he was... Not some Mother who didn't know anything about them. As little as it would pain him to see her lying motionless, he would rather it be by his horn, fang or hoof... Not this bright pink and white thing's. That would be too much like loosing a battle to Tarnish.

Plague watched in silence as the mother of his foals lunged at the eldest. It was Torment's fault for being so stupid, and he wasn't about to keep her from getting beat up by her own mother. He wouldn't allow Diabetia to kill her, however, for he still had plans for the young filly. But Torment needed to learn the smart way to approach a kalona, and the best kind of learning came from personal experience.
One eyebrow rose as he watched his youngest rush and tackle the filly, attempting to shove her out of the way. He had never encouraged them looking after one another, so when had this started up?
The large mutant growled and stepped forward, ready to intercede in a moment's notice, when he thought the two had received enough damage from their own flesh and blood.

He snorted as his siblings did something else stupid. Torment should have known better than to get close to something that could be dangerous and Father had said that Mother wasn't something to be called stupid. His sister had asked for whatever happened to her.
He hadn't expected his brother to step in the way though. Taint was dumb but he hadn't thought he was that dumb. Taking a careful step back he watched warily just incase she came at him too.

Torment let out a surprised shriek as the kalona lunged at her. Large sharp fangs flew in her direction, and she squeezed her eyes shut, scared and unable to move. She finally got to meet this Mother creature, and the Mother creature was going to KILL her?! Not even her Father had tried that!
Bracing for the painful impact, Torment was caught off guard as she felt a strong shove into her side, sending her off balance, toppling to the ground with a scream. Her eyelids flew open, and her gray eyes were quick to notice the light pink of her youngest brother beside her. Why had he shoved her out of the way? Was he trying to get hurt? Why would he try to protect her?

Her fangs snapped out, and she drew back after the initial bite, having been caught off guard by the foal's movement. Had what she had seen truly happened? Had... the colt tried to save the filly?
She laughed, her voice light and airy as her tongue managed to lick away the drops of blood dotting her jaw. "So Plague... you've been teaching the foals quite a lot I see. I especially love these new defensive skills of theirs. Tell me, do you teach them to be kind to others as well? I knew that one day you'd show a side of the unicorn blood you have in you."
She glanced at the third foal, the elder colt. His skill mirrored hers, save for his stripes. As ugly as he was, she wouldn't resist attempting to attack him as well. But first things first.
Dia turned back around and bared her fangs once again, giving herself only moments of preperation before she struck out at the two once again.

He snarled as he sprang back, feeling something sharp graze his shoulder. This time he didn't care what happened to Torment. He'd knocked her out of the way once and that should have been enough for her to snap out of whatever idiot daze this Mother had caught her in.

He saw the fury in the older mare's eyes and the mutant drew forward, placing himself before his youngest and eldest.
"That's quite enough, Diabetia." he said in his low voice, his empty eyes never leaving her hot pink ones. "You had your one strike, and you managed to miss your kill. Perhaps you'll have another day to try again, but that day is not today."
He glanced behind where he stood and took a moment to look over the trio of foals. Both the foals directly behind him had taken slight wounds due to their dam, but both were far from being critically injured. And Tarnish, his shadow, was staring long and hard at his siblings, no doubt having the same thoughts running through his mind as Plague had running through his own.
He turned back and growled at Diabetia, daring her to challenge him. It would be a refreshing moment, to put her in her place once again. It had been far too long since he'd been able to experience such pleasure.

He reached up with one wing to scratch at an itch behind an ear and snorted. Father should have let her eat them if they were going to do something so stupid. There was a mild satisfaction that they hadn't been killed though, it would mean the pleasure would be his eventually.
Shaking his head he waited to see what was going to happen now. Father seemed intent on keeping Mother from them and he doubted she had the strength to get past him. He was bigger after all.
