Oh gods, they're everywhere!
But by Grabthar's hammer, that episode was absolutely fantastic! I can't remember the last time Doctor Who creeped me out quite that much! Possibly not since The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances. I always think a good benchmark for how scary a monster is is whether or not you can see yourself having nightmares about them. I can really see myself having nightmares about those angels (I probably won't, but I'll trust that you get what I mean).

katybutterfly Excellent episode! Even my Dad said so! Steven Moffat just gets better and better. Didn't think he could top The Empty Child, The Doctor Dances or The Girl In The Fireplace, but I think he's come pretty close! I didn't particularly like statues to start off with, but now... Loving the DVD extras idea to let the Doctor communicate with Sally. And cheer the Hull references! Confidential (directed by young Mr Tennant) was even more fascinating than it usually is when I get to watch it. Won't be able to watch the next two weeks' episodes on first broadcast because I'll be on stage. I love tapes. Wierdo-Cabbage Actually, this story reminded me of another story I've heard. Where it was, I have no idea... Steven Moffat wrote the story for the 2006 Doctor Who annual. There's a link to it on the website. steven moffat - so he didnt write "The Empty Child"? ah i get confused that was steven roberts wasnt it. silly me..... your on stage? scrap the stage watch Who!! xd lol but tapes are good you're right biggrin what are you doing on stage?

Like everyone else, this scared the pineapples out of me O_O Until epileptic statue beat-break-athon at the end and the ridiculous statue montage xD
That said there was lots to love here but I'm left with a single, burning question at the end of it all.
Why did the doctor force people to carry messages for him, thus condeming them to die after suffering years of living in an age that wasn't theirs? What, is he too good to wait around until 2007 rolls round himself? Places to go, perhaps?
Apart from the fact it made the doctor look like a bit of a timesnob, I liked it o.o

It would have been really good, had it not been a cooler version of a story in the 2005 Doctor Who annual - they could at least changed her name!
It was good but i was there all the time going 'but it's the same, but it's not. but it's happened, but it hasn't, but it's the wrong Dr, but the TARDIS should have taken her too, but, but ahhh!.'
If I didn't own the 05 annual then i would have thought it brilliant, but I do so I don't. But it was still good.

Awsome episode! The twichy-light bit was my favourite bit, even my mother was shouting at the television for them to open the TARDIS (which is something you don't often catch her doing)
That was terribly cool (and scary, of course) monster-thing, but at the end I did end up wondering, when the light goes out, in that room with the angels, would they still be able to see each other? Because it would have been an eerie last scene if they showed them still standing there and then the light flickers and they've all disappeared.

The light has to go out one day...and when that day comes, whatever you do, DON'T BLINK.

Edit That bit at the end was supposed to make you wonder if all them look like angels and be paranoid, I think, Stresshog. I thought it was delightful~! *Has statues in her garden too* The flicking light would have been alright once or twice, but yes, bit like a strobe light at a disco in the end. Took away from the monsters a bit. Anyone find it interesting the Doctor was called a 'lonely angel'(and it's been snagged by a good portion of the fanbase as one of his common names) and now we get these creatures? I have no garden, I have a beach condo... Oh no! What if all the beach goers in their tight bright speedos are serial killers when I'm not looking?!..... Yeah I'm trying too hard... LOVED the terror aspect in this one much more than the scarecrows. However, I can point out one and only one thing: Eye refresh rates. We have refresh rates like computers and tvs, which is why sometimes we see a computer blinking on a tv recording etc. So, ifdifferent species have different refresh rates from eye to brain, does that mean some species are helpless no matter how hard they stare at the angels? Also, what about AI or cyborg type machine/living things. If they don't have to blink, are they fine? :F Definitely the best episode of the season.

Mmm, if the creatures turn to stone when being observed, a video camera could be used as a weapon against them. I wonder why she didn't think of that.

Do you think that it has to be a 'higher life form' sort of creature? Because then they could be stopped by a literal fly on the wall if any living creature counts.
And that's interesting about the eye refresh rates, Crocodile. ^^ I was also thinking, what if you alternate your blinking with your eyes? Does being observed with a mirror count?
...and I love that Martha had to get a job to support the Doctor. No working for him. XD
