AverageTyrant Meh. I like the convenience of it, but still. I know some pervy idiot is going to come along, and go: "CUTE GIRLS IN FRILLY DRESSES? LYKE, MOAR PLZ!" and totally disregard the actual style.
Next thing you know, lolita will be "the new thing" and it'll be slutified and mass-produced to the general public.
No thank you. I would have to agree with you on this one, people are always looking for the lastest "trend or fad" and then it is done.

Miss Fangy Albatre Marionnette I can't explain myself, I'm afraid, Sir...
I understand that, it's just... They sounded misleading to me. I assumed they would lead to a bunch of 11-year-old girls going "lol hi lookin 4 otaku freinds" but I probably overreacted.
My friend saw an otaku man on the subway once.
...Because I'm not myself, you see. Really? How'd she know he was an otaku? o__o I can't explain myself, I'm afraid, Sir...
He was carrying a huge plush anime character. And he hugged it.
On the subway.
...Because I'm not myself, you see.

Its half and half. Its always been extremely hard for me to find the bibles and I dont own one yet =[ But this way, it will be easier for me to read and obtain them. BUT it pisses me off to no end also. Its already too popular as it is,what with the "lolita" sections of cosplay contests at anime cons xp But maybe this will make the Ita's more knowlegeable....I dunno. Im pissed, but Im still gonna buy one (Im really excited about the patterns being in english!) I want a japanese one first though...

But you know, Tokyopop cuts out ALL of the inside posters, lithographs, and glossy colored pages from their "just translated" manga. I'm starting to doubt if they'll bother to include the patters. Maybe we should send letters to TokyoPop telling them to keep everything in the Bibles as intact as possible, even if it means paying more? If they get enough letters, they might just do it!

Well, I don't mind Tokyo Pop since it publishes more than just manga and all the anime stuff--I just don't want otaku and japanophiles running around saying stuff like, "lookies at meh, I'm LOLITA!" and then asking to trade Yugioh cards or whatever (sorry, I don't want to seem rude but it's true).
I read manga and watch anime, but I don't freak out about it...it's just like any other show or book to me. :/
Well, once I walked into a Japanese store and there was this otaku lady WORKING THERE and she squealed and hugged all the merchandise and used her pet names for all the "kawaii bishies"...um, yeah. I don't want to buy stuff from there after she was cuddling it. XD Not to mention she was really mean to one of my friends...

The only good thing about this is I'll be able to read it...aside from that if they change anything else it'll be different from the original content and I'm sure at that point all the lolita's that actually are part of that style would rather have the japanese one...english or original content? Yay for Japanese...

I am super excited, yet utterly scared! I don't want TOKYOPOP to butcher anything else that I love. I mean, I know they mean well, but it's hard enough all ready as it is to convince everyone that lolita isn't cosplay, and that it is the same as any other style such as preppy, gothic, or bohemian. My prediction is that they will end up killing it by trying too hard...it's so sad...

Hey guys they have been posting on the EGL livejournal assuring people that it wont be as bad as we all think. It's a good thing, they are getting fans involved with the magazine and practically building by how the community feels about the fashion.

-C'est la lune qui conduit la danse...-
I'm still not really satisfied with what they say about the magazine, though. The panel, I'm more than just a little confident about, but the magazine... They're only asking a few people they met at ONE con for advice, which I think is too little.
