See. That's why my guy would be good. He'd have a Shotgun. And. Some sort of knife taped onto the end.

Indeed, combat attachments are allowed on most weapons. Inquisitor always did favour "realistic" characters.

My own small warband is nothing more then four low end enforcers with shotguns, no carapace armour and only one of them managed to get a lasgun. More or less created for the capture of opponents.

I'd laugh, but all I can say is: Welcome to the real world. This is how Inquisitor is played. That's something to keep in mind for future events.

*shrug* I was expecting to have my character toned down. I built him with the characters in the book being my only reference, power wise. I made him significantly less powerful than the sample Inquisitor, but it was still too much for the game. The GM wants us to start low and purchase upgrades as we gain experience.

Inquisitors are not a good base for run of the mill characters and see it this way, when starting low, you can improve over time.

I suppose how it is, is most GM's would see a marine or Inquisitor as a seasoned veteran. Not EVERYONE can be that strong, so those sorts of high power heroes are generally NPC's, while the rest of you have to EARN it. Give DEPTH to the characters, so to speak. Just like on Diablo 2, when you start. No two characters are that great, but if you see a level 80 barbarian with full gothic plate running around with unique items... He's a hero.

True that, I'm happy that the Imperial Assassin and the Space Marine fall under GM control nine out of ten times. When someone tries to join in on the 'fun' with one of those two, it's not funny anymore. Oh sure it's not nice for the people that have those models, but they are simply too powerful in most scenario cases. Luckily Gac wrote an article on how best to use them.

I have onley recentley started playing inquisitor and i dont know the rules by heart yet. But I love the game go desperatos!

Well, played my first game last week, and I rather like it. My model wasn't fully painted at the time, but I had the important bits the right colors. His hands and face were flesh colored and his guns were boltgun metal. I've done a fair bit more painting since then and... well, you can take a peek at the results. He's still not quite finished, but he's a whole lot closer than when I first fielded him. Without further ado, I present the desperado Bolt Crank:

I think I may have overdid it on the bluing of his guns, but I wanted them to be distictly gunmetal rather than a generic metal like his shoulder pauldrons.

xp Okay, so my Desperado didn't spark any oohs and ahhs. Or any posts at all, really. How about a rules discussion instead?

What do you find the best skills to be? I've been doing rather well with Dead-eye Shot, but I haven't had Quickload or Dodge come into play at all yet.

the rules aren't that hard to pick up really they look much worse than they actually are and an alternative idea (sorry for going off topic); what scale do you use? (as i personally use the 54mm figures but i know other people use 40K models etc)

Using 40k models would make it much more easy to create & model them
PostPosted: Tue Oct 25, 2005 3:54 pm

Honestly, I prefer the 54mm. style of Inquisitor models. If you were to use the 40k scale models for your characters, it's be alot harder to make them seem unique and customizable. In my current warband there's a girl who has a Desperado converted to look just like Vash the Stampede of Trigun fame, and I based my Desperado on Bolt Crank from the little known EAT-MAN series. These conversions would have been much more difficult at the 40k scale. I'll admit that Inquisitor needs a much larger range of models though. What it really needs is some quick, premade plastic characters, preferably in only one or two pieces, that can be bought and painted quickly. Because GM's need to make ALOT of characters over the course of long campaigns, unless you do a whole lot more objective based missions where you race against another party.

So, addressing my previous question, what do you find are your favorite abilities to have? I'm really liking Dead-eye Shot, as in the two sessions I've played, Bolt has gotten 4 headshots total. Dodge is helping now that I know how to use it, though it's not as great as I had hoped, and Quickload STILL hasn't come into play as I didn't manage to to empty my Hunting Rifle in either mission, and haven't fired my revolver once.

gunfighter and quick draw when used together are pretty useful skills and Pure dumb luck has saved me more than once

Gunfighter and quickdraw? I would have thought Gunfighter and Ambitextrous would be a more powerful combination.

that's another useful combination. I like my assassain's to have the catfall skill and lightning reflex and possibly the blade master skill as well
