Taniel answers the question of both of his quests (after greeting DeArca with a smile and a gesture to come inside), with a simple, "They are both for sale. Vahe," he gestured with his head to the annoyed-looking icy blue Banya in the corner, "is too much of a handful on his own.
"Both are for sale, as are a few trinkets for the Banya that I've found on my journies. The Fortune Banya you're looking at right there is 120 couplets. Very well behaved, too, especially for his breed."

"Really!" He asked. He could afford one! That was wondeful....but, questions had to come first. How do you raise them, feed them? What are their specific needs? He had to know how he could raise such a beautiful chick.

Taniel nodded. "And Fortune breeds, like this one, pay for themselves quickly. If you don't already know, they produce money and items on a fairly regular basis.
"He's a chick, so he won't bring any money at the moment, but in about two or three weeks he will. Until then, just feed him seed and give him attention. When he grows into an adult, he'll likely hunt for himself, if you let him out of the wagon. If not, you need to gather beetles and worms for him."

"Really?" He said, seeming to be his best word. It was such a beautiful chick and to raise one would be nice. Ash would no doubt love a new friend. Marco the mule was ok but Ash needed new friends...err...more friends....err...friends that didn't kick. "Ok! If I can ask to buy him, how soon can I get him?" He asked.

"You can take him home right now, if you like. I'm sure Vahe will be happy with the arrangement."
Said Banya ruffled his feathers indignantly.

"Thank you so much, sir! But, could I get a charm for my Banya? What would you recommend...I like these two?" He pointed to the Clarity and the Frequency charms. They looked perfect for his new chick.

"Those both apply only to fortunes, as far as I've seen. But those two in particular cancel each other out. You can either buy the Frequency charm, which will make your Banya tell fortunes more often than normal, or the Clairty charm, which will make the fortunes easier to understand... but not both. The Frequency charm has a side effect - the fortunes are harder to understand.
"So it depends on what you value. Number of fortunes, or quality."

"To be honest, sir...I need as many fortunes as possible and my friend, Illyana, told me that the hardest things to solve are the most rewarding in the end. So...I would like to take the Frequency Charm if that's alright?" He said, pointing to it.

"Of course. The total price will then be 195 couplets." Taniel smiled and retrieved the Fortune chick, with perch. Setting it before DeArca, he quickly fastened a frequency charm onto the perch.
The Banya watched Ash curiously.

"Oh dear" He said, crossing his arms and had to think. I miscounted...I'm short. "Can we make a deal? I'll pay 150 and...I'll....Oh! I'll create any wooden figurine you want for your wagon. I'm a woodsculptor!!!" he said.

Taniel paused, then shook his head. "I can't justify letting this Banya and the charm go for less than... perhaps 185. Procuring the Banya and charm was expensive, you see. I need to make a small profit, or I won't be able to offer more things to all of you as time goes by.
"I generally don't like haggling, but 185 I could do."

"Nnn....I see" He said, sighing some as he gave Taniel his money pouch. "Its all I have! But this beautiful chick is worth every bit of it. Thank you so much" He smiled, petting the chick's little chin.

Taniel smiled, slightly. "Like I said, he should eventually pay for himself. I wouldn't worry. Come see me if you have any more questions." He took the money pouch, not opening it. He wouldn't insult his new customer by counting the money - he would simply trust him.

Rojiza waves good-bye to the Fortune chick. She's sure DeArca will give him the attention he deserves. But Rojiza's attention now turns to the little trinkets, one of which DeArca had purchased. She recognizes the frequency charm as the one he'd bought, and the other he'd liked was the...clarity charm? She peers at the other two kinds of baubles and writes again for Taniel: What do these ones do?

Taniel turned back to the girl, and smiled at the question. He motioned to the one that looked like an olive branch. "This one makes Banya get along better. If they don't get along well, one of them might fly away. But it only makes the Banya it's given to feel less stressed. The others will still be able to get on each others' nerves.
"The other one simply keeps Banya from flying away. There's still a small chance they'll take wing, but it's much less."
