Tete was pleased to hear the squeal-giggle, for it screamed success for his plan. However, his pounce was not as perfect as he believed, and he fell short of actually landing on target. He managed to paw at her, but landed in the shallow water and muddy bottom of the waterhole edge where Sineri had been standing. Finally laying down, he couldn't help but laugh despite the increasing need for more oxygen.

"That didn't- work," he said with a chuckle, enjoying himself and making no move what so ever to get away.

Sin felt the splash where Tete landed in the shallow water, felt him pawing at her as he tried to reach her, and it made her squeal-giggle all the harder as she scrambled to get away from him, still on her side, having had no time to right herself. But then his voice reached her ears, and she stopped wriggling to get away, turning to look at him with that lopsided grin.

"No, it didn't, did it?" She giggled again, without the squeal, and rolled over onto her back and then straight onto her other side, so they were facing each other, panting a bit herself from the exertion of running from him.

Not bothering to try to keep his breathing quiet, Tete took great gulps of air and watch as Sin squirmed away from him so she was not within his reach. The water around him calmed as thy both actually stayed still, but it didn't last as Tete splashed half-heartedly towards Sin when she laughed.

"Well- well-" he stammered, trying to think of a good comeback but not really finding anything to say, "Well! I win." Why not claim victory while he could? Tete nodded his head boldly.

Tete's splash toward her just made her giggle more, one leg lifting to guard her face, the eye closest to Tete closing in defence. And in retaliation, she made a scooping motion with her paw, lazily flinging some water back at him.

She gave a good-naturedly amused snort at Tete's claim. "No, you didn't," she countered, poking her paw toward him. "I got you, but you never got me. If anything, I won." And she nodded her head decisively back at him.

Tete, expecting some form of retaliation, ducked his head in an attempt to avoid the splash- unfortunately since he was laying in the water this only managed to get him a nose-full of water. The lion snorted and scrambled to his feet in order to escape the water.

He shook his head a bit, and then looked up to listen when Sin gave valid arguements against his declaration of victory, claiming it to be her own. Tete frowned, trying to think of a good arguement and, unhappily, finding none.

"Well, then.. um," he stammered, now trying to get a good comeback, "You win this time, but I'll get you next time."

As Tete managed to inhale a noseful of water, Sineri lost control of her giggling. It turned into full-blown laughter, and as Tete snorted and climbed to his feet, Sineri rolled onto her back in the shallow water and laughed. Who knew this lion who liked - ugh - mud would be so fun to hang around with?

She looked up at him as he floundered for a comeback, grinning as she still laughed a bit, the outburst finally dying down slowly. "No, you won't," she affirmed, confidently and cheerfully, still grinning up at him.

Tete scowled at the lioness as she laughed at his back-fired attempt to avoid the water, and in an effort to stop her he splashed some water towards her. It was, however, a weak effort and actually hitting her wasn't so important.

When Sineri argued he would not win next time, Tete adopted his own confident grin and puffed up a bit, "We'll see about that."

The water Tetemeko actually splashed at her didn't reach its target, hitting the water a few inches away from her, but the second splash of that water hitting the surface of the watering hole made a small amount fly up against her face, giving her reason to close one eye and turn her head away from the spray. It wouldn't teach her a lesson, of course, but luckily for Tete, her laughter was dying down naturally anyway.

She rolled her eyes playfully as Tete puffed up importantly, and she rolled to her feet to sit in front of him. With a grin, she poked a paw into his chest, as if to deflate him. "We'll see that I win again, that's what we'll see."

Tete watched Sin with a playful glare as his splashing missed, but she did not go completely un-splashed and her laughter slowed. That, at least, was a plus for him. He obviously wasn't winning the verbal arguement, and it could hardly be said the aquatic battle was i his favour either.

He stumbled back a bit when she stopped in front of him and poked him in the chest. His only response to what she said was sticking his tongue out, then scrambled out of the water.

"If you say so," he said loudly, since he had no good comeback to it he chose just to be as confident and loud as possible.

She huffed a laugh as Tete poked his tongue out at her, and playfully she returned it. Something about Tetemeko made her want to act like a cub, and if he'd only known her a bit better, he'd realise how much of an achievement it was to get the fairly serious little female to be playful and carefree.

She followed him out of the water, shaking some of the excess water from her golden pelt. "Why are you shouting it?" she asked him, amusement in her voice. "That won't make you win, Tete." She stretched herself out, then laid down in a patch of grass.

This, Ezeoha considered, would be what he would be doing the rest of his long life, rounding up cubs. He had barely managed to keep the other four secured in their den (Shaji had been practically clinging to his back leg as he tried to depart), and for some reason he doubted that all four would still be there by the time he got back. They were a troublesome lot, and raising them practically on his own was no help to his curent position. He loved cubs, he truly did, from his first son Nunda to the bunch of lovely little brats (*cough*) ...angels he had now.

Maybe his darlingest of girls was taking a bath, he thought, and so that was why he chose then to head to the watering whole where his female look-alike was playing. Once spotting his daughter, he came strolling towards her with a warm smile. Oh, how could he have thought such nasty things about his children? They were beautiful, every single one of them - absolutely perfect. The gods themselves could not have better children then the ones he had. Just look at her perfect golden Pridelander fur, the way her eyes sparkled as she played! Siner was nothing less then perfection, and he was proud to be her father.

But, he could not forget that he had lost track of where she was, and that he would like for her to come home. "Sineri?" He arched an eyebrow, standing a little behind his daughter. Yes, she was perfect, but he had never before really seen her behave like such a child. She liked to act more cultured then that... but seeing her acting her age was refreshing, and he could not help but appreciate it. The only problem was that she was returning to her childhood with a cub that he did not know, a cub that was coincidentally male. He had no intention to be nasty, but no one was allowed to make advances on his daughter until she was of age. He did it when he was Tete's age... but no one kept track of him as a cub. It was all right. Now, it wasn't, because Ezeoha didn't appreciate flirtations put upon his daughters (he shamelessly, though, tried to teach every single one of his cubs the art he had mastered - flirting).

Tete was glaring at Sin for, again, having a comeback ready for what he said. He wasn't going to win any arguements with the hole he'd dug himself into (figuratively) now. He opened his mouth to make an attempt, however feeble, to say something that wouldn't circle back on him- but nothing came out. His mouth closed again, for lack of anything to say and because someone else had suddenly appeared within his view. He was big, furry (obviously an adult) and looked a bit like Sineri (quite probably a relative).

He blinked and glanced back to Sin just as her name was called out.

Sineri winced, ducking her head guiltily, as she heard her father call her name. Yes, she knew she had wandered quite far from home, but she hadn't known her father would find her here. Especially not when she was having so much fun with Tetemeko. It surprised even her how playful she was with him, because she wasn't like it at home - at least, not with her brothers and sisters (ew). She loved them, yeah, but they were a bothersome bunch. At least, they were for a young lady who liked the quiet.

Her ears lowering, almost flattening against her skull, she turned around to face Ez, giving her father a smile she hoped was innocent and sweet enough to get her off the hook. "Hi, daddy..."

He examined the state that his daughter was in, and a part of him became highly amused, because Sineri was so far from having acted normally that the only way to accept it was by finding it amusing. "Love, you're dirty." Ezeoha knew that he had taught herself to keep clean, had taught her that upon exiting the water one had to find a large enough rock to immediately perch on and get dry. It kept one's paws from getting dirty, and sadly Sineri's paws were not up to par with Ezeoha's
this fine day.

"Who is your lovely new... friend?" He now turned his examination to Tete, and a bit of him was repulsed by how dirty the juvenile was. Hadn't he just been in the water? How could he have gotten dirty that quickly? He must've sticked to the muddy bits. It shocked him that Sineri was actually seeing this cub as a friend. He knew she was a stickler for cleanliness, and Tete did not seem to care one little bit whether he was dirty or clean. But... this was probably Sineri's first friend out of the family, and he musn't look mean or cruel. He didn't want to actually /embarrass/ his daughter.

Even before Sineri said hello to her father, the look on her face gave away the relationship they had. It was a look he was familiar with, or imagined he made every once in a while- his father was so protective, Tete was surprised that Sin's found them before his did. So surprised, in fact, as he realized how long they'd been playing that he had to take a minute to look around and make sure his father was not going to sneak up on them now too. He didn't notice any of the glances at his fur, and had completely forgotten how it could be taken as he was distracted from Sin's initial reaction to the mud by their games in the water.

Once convinced his father wasn't going to pop out of the surrounding grass, he looked back to Ezeoha and offered a sheepish smile. He hadn't looked back in time to introduce himself right after it was asked, but fortunately he hadn't been asked so it wasn't so rude as it could be.
