Going over the corpses of the mages doesn't yield much useful; they either weren't carrying anything, or had already been gone over. Still, there is a Potion of Healing and an Elixer of Magic to be found.

Also on one of the bodies is a magical crystal often used as a sort of a mission log by recording thoughts into it. Though the death of the user damages most of the data on it, it almost always manages to keep the last thirty to ninety seconds of thoughts, giving it some use in piecing together what happened on missions gone wrong.

Such is the use it is to you now. Gathering around it, you each press a finger to it and will it to play back to you the user's last thoughts.

...but anyone with any magical sense could have gotten through that door, so they may be following us. Rykerd took the heavies with him into the mansion, and left us here by the door as lookouts. What? How did he get behind us?

The rest of the recording is mostly pain, fear, and then it ends.

Expecting the worst, you go down the right passage. This one has a similar downward slope, but no enemies at the end. In fact, by the dust inside, you can assume that this room, prior to you opening the door, hadn't been disturbed in many years. Its purpose is fairly evident though; it is designed not unlike a tiny masoleum, except granting the owner easy access to the bodies. It would not be unwise to think that this was where bodies were stored by the manor's owned, so they could be studied later.

Going back, you go up the stairs and enter the manor. You find yourself in a space about ten feet wide, with tunnel both to the left and the right. There is a door in front of you, hanging wide open. Upon your entrance into the tunnel, six zombies emerge from it. As the zombies move in to attack you, you can see light coming from beyond the door.

Two zombies each move in to attack Ronin (Zombies #1 and #2) and Kitai (Zombies #3 and #4), and Gonzu (Zombie #5) and Thorn (Zombie #6) each draw one zombie.

Any zombie not attacked will use its combat die for attack and use a Smash, while any zombie that gets attacked for more than 6 damage will use its die for defense and use Defensive Hold.

Please specify which zombie you attack/cast against. It's kind of important. sweatdrop

Thorn screeches and impulsively throws an Energy Burst at the zombie lumbering over to her. "Aaaah! Stay back! I'm a witch I'll.. AAAAAAH SCARY!"

2 MP, 1 AP. Using Energy Burst on Zombie #6. I'll use combat dice for defense. I'll heal Gonzu.

Kitai looks to the oncoming zombies and summons her Gargant. "Come my friend, we've got zombies to crush!" She lunges forward and takes Zombie #3 full in the face. The gargant roars it's battle cry and attacks Zombie #4.

"Back Foul beast!! Back I say!!" Gonzu waves his robes at the approaching zombie before hitting it with a fireball, which after engulfing the zombie moves on to obliterate the zombie that was teaming up on Ronin, "I've got your back!!"

The team rips into the zombies, with Gonzu downing two with a fireball (since there was 7 damage left over, the extra goes on to zombie #5), Ronin delivers a ferocious blow to one zombie but the zombie covers up with a defensive hold, resisting 12 of the 14 damage.

All in all, Ronin takes 2 damage from the zombie that smashes him, his defense being too powerful for the zombie's attack. Ronin regenerates this damage at the end of the turn.

Kitai attacks a zombie but the zombie's defense absorbs it and the zombie carries on the attack anyway. Kitai's summon uses its Defender ability (remember to specify this in the future if you use Defender to pull a specific attack) on Zombie #4, and the attack's damage is absorbed by the beast's tough hide. In addition to 2 damage from its Vindictive ability, it also attacks the zombie itself, doing 2 more damage.

Thorn lashes out with an Energy Burst, wounding the zombie that attacks her and deals 8 damage.

Gonzu gets attacked and takes 6 damage in total from the attack and the Smash, but manages to finish off one of Ronin's zombies and Thorn's zombie, and wounds his own with the remaining damage.

At the end of the round, Thorn heals Gonzu for 5 life, bringing him up to 7.

Gonzu: 7/10 life, 1 MP, 3 AP.
Ronin: 28/35 life, 3 AP.
Kitai: 12/20 life, 3 AP, 1 MP.
Thorn: 2/10 life, 2 MP, 3 AP.

Party pool: 3 AP, 3 MP.

The zombies continue attacking their targets. Zombie #1 continues to battle Ronin, Zombie #3 keeps attacking Kitai and Zombie #4 again tries to hit Kitai, and Zombie #5 moves in to try to finish off Gonzu if he can.

Kitai once more aims a strike at her zombie in hopes of actually wounding it this time. "Ye damn corpse!! I'll get you yet!!" The gargant (using it's defender ability) puts itself between Zombie number 4 and Kitai, it rushes forward in hopes of damaging the zombie again.

Gonzu looks at the carnage from the initial assault, "By the Gods!! These things can't even die cleanly!!" He levels another Fireball against zombies number 3(8 damage), 4(11 damage), and 1(11 damage) He tosses off his overly complicated and trifurcated fireball at the oncoming zombies in order to soften them up for his comrades. "Just die you rotting mongrels!!"

((Okay, Fireball split 8, 11, 11. To zombies 3, 4, and 1. If I am doing this right Kitai is going to do enough damage to 3 that she will finish it, the gargant does the 2 from vindictive to finish off 4 and Ronin should be able to handle 1, Oh and Thorn should have killed the last one.))

((i really dont know how to use my power up ability, can someone tell me how, or do i just use it like a normal thing without dice rol and such))
ronin readies another swing, this time, he moves it to how samuria spread their legs and put their swords pointing backwards. ronin then swings his sword "hhhiiiiieeeeyyyyaaa!!!"

Ronin slashes and deals 15 damage to his zombie. The zombie again covers up with Defensive Hold but takes 3 damage anyway. The piece of fireball from Gonzu is enough to drop the zombie.

Thorn finishes off zombie #5 with an 8 damage Energy Burst.

Kitai comes in with a hard hit and manages to get 4 points of damage past the zombie's solid defense. The zombie retaliates for 3 damage and Smashes for two more, and gets another 8 points tossed at it from Gonzu. Kitai's gargant again pulls zombie #4 to attack it, but can't penetate the defense and takes one point of damage, but deals another two points of damage with its Vindictive ability.

Gonzu tosses a complicated fireball, helping take down two zombies and badly wounding the last. The zombie attacking him attacks and smashes, dealing a total of 5 damage, which Thorn heals at the end of the round. The actual damage the fireball ends up needing to do is 10 damage to zombie #1, 9 damage to zombie #4, leaving 11 damage to be dealt to zombie #3, who had been dealt 4 damage by Kitai already. The last zombie falls, and the combat ends.

Gonzu: 7/10 life, 4 AP, 1 MP.
Ronin: 30/35 life, 4 AP, 4 MP.
Kitai: 7/20 life, 4 AP, 2 MP.
Thorn: 2/10 life, 4 AP, 2 MP.

Party pool: 4 AP, 4 MP.
