Emariliean okay im looking at this xs anime site of EVIL and i see no albedo! they have ALLEN, and they dont have my cute little albedo? WHY WOULD THEY DO THIS TO ME?! anyway. i am now planning on boycotting downloading illegal copies of this anime! *glare glare glare* yeah. that'll show them! They're not showing Albedo because that'd be a major spoiler for those unfamiliar with the game (notice that he is not in the game's manual either).

Raw is out. heart
It isn't the best animation, but it's decent. The ep ends with KOS-MOS awakening, definitely done better in the game. The ending theme is pretty, and the xeno conspiracy theorist in me thinks that last image looks an awful lot like Lahan. XD

Also the "with the right timing you can kill the gnosis" thing. That means the Gnosis had much less of an advantage in this version. Also, why the heck was Albedo there? And what the heck is he doing in the next episode? As far as the art goes, it's done in Xenosaga Freaks style. Just look at the two side by side. It has kinda an American comic looking influence, at least to me... Just look at Albedo ^^; They had to change some things, but couldn't one of them be giving Jin glasses for the whole thing?! ^^; But yeah, of all of the things, adding that hyaku-shiki is the weirdest change... ^^;

One group has the first ep subbed already (there are apparently 3 doing it now). I just finished watching it a few minutes ago, and I have to say it seems pretty well done. Though as others have mentioned the animation isn't the best (though it's to be expected when the character designs have such a high line count - they could have easily simplified some things to get more fluid movement, but I guess detail was the priority). For the most part the artwork is really good, though there were a few points where I wished they would have let up on the lines on certian character's faces (like Albedo in the opening, the only crazy white haired bishi that can pull off that look and still be bishi is Dilandau). And other than that I can't really complain, though I like the XenoFreaks designs a little better (they're slightly different, mainly in that they're less "realistic" if that makes any sense at all). The 3D stuff just emphasized the fact that the show was done with a pretty low budget, I do wish they would have drawn the all of ships and gnosis (or at least used flat shaded 3D to give a semblence of continuity between the two). On the topic of gnosis, is it just me or were only some of them translucent? *is a stickler for continuity* The adaption of the story so far seems pretty well done too, but I can't help but point out a few details that may end up being plot holes later on if the series is continued to include later episodes of the game. For example Shion doesn't actually touch the Zohar, she just comes close to it. And she doesn't see Nephilim in the encephalon, just by the Zohar. Both seem pretty minor but either could end up being either a big clue to something later (like seeing Nephilim in the encephalon, to me at least, implies that Nephilim and KOS-MOS have some sort of connection - that implication is gone completely without that event) or end up as a major plot hole (say Shion's touching of the Zohar actually *does* something to her and we just don't know what yet, if she doesn't actually come into contact with it that just causes problems later).
Now, I really want to know what that 100-series was doing on board the Woglinde (another possible continuity error, since they weren't in production until after the Woglinde launched).
Solar - I can answer your question about what Albedo's doing there (provided that the fansub is remotely accurate). Apparently Margulis has anticipated the gnosis attack and sent Albedo to protect the cargo if it became nessicary. And if you're reffering to the mechs in KOS-MOS's training thingy, they're not AMWS it was something else (I think it was something like "CM units" but I don't know what they are). There are apparently a few AMWS fighting with the AGWS units when the gnosis attack, though.

There's also the lack of chaos appearing in Shion's dream...
The Hyaku-shiki's were in theory the counterparts to the AGWS's, and apparently in this version they only need one to Hilbert the whole thing from the ship... I think... Still weird and different... Also being able to shoot them "with the right timing."
I didn't understand 100%, but if that explanation is remotely accurate, then the Gnosis better not get the emulator. There's just no way. After KOS-MOS hilberts them there's no way they can withstand an ES...
99% Sure i heard "Emms" (as opposed to "Eggs" or "CM whatever") but I'll take your word for it... ^^;

No, when Shion is talking, she says something like "Taishou: AMWS ikou shoutai", which is something like "Target: AMWS mobile platoon".

Mileia Sermones III Nyah, where are you people viewing these?! gonk I wishes to see the episodes, too! *puppy eyes* I'd give links to the torrents, but I don't want to get in trouble for violating the TOS. But I will say that you should be able to find the subbed version if you google the group that's done it - AnimeYuki. Solar - You might be right, I'm just going by what AnimeYuki's subs say (being a fansub accuracy isn't always 100%, so it's not improbably that they're wrong). Here's what their sub says for that line: "You will be in restraints, fighting in a space-constrained environment against a squad of MCs." Though on a slightly related note, I hadn't thought about this until I rewatched the episode for a third or so time, but didn't KOS-MOS use her X-buster thing in the Encephalon? I thought it was odd since Shion suposedly doesn't know about it's existance... Oh well, most of the changes just small and nit-picky so I guess we shouldn't worry too much.

Oh well, most of the changes just small and nit-picky so I guess we shouldn't worry too much. 1) I believe the official policy is you can post torrents to shows not licensed in the US. 2) I understand now, to someone who didn't play the Japanese games, the contraction for AMWS (Emms) is impossible to just "know"... So they picked the closest guess they had.
