Blake was thrilled to see that she didn't shun his advances away, but he didn't dare push her too fast especially when he knew so little of the customs of his new species. New? Or have I always been this way? So many questions that no one would be able to answer for him, he suspected, and for a moment that made him rather sad. Thankfully the sight of Chepi's smile drove all such thoughts from his mind once more, though her looking around for a moment made him alarmed.
"I h-haven't done anything to cause you alarm have I? I apologize for my brashness if I did.." He took a step backwards, lowering his head once more in humble apology. He wondered for a moment if she had a mate and suspected his return at any moment, and hoped he wouldn't chase him off...he rather enjoyed her company and would be sad to leave. Once more he was forced to shake his head to clear the hair from his eyes before looking up at her meekly, and for the 10th time wondering why he couldn't remember long hair before.

"Oh no, its fine.." She took a step towards him now, hopeful not to have hurt his feelings in any way. She lowered her head, and brushed at his long locks with her muzzle softly. "Its very fine.." She whispered softly.
She flicked her tail and stomped her front hooves happily, she lifted her head and tossed her long mane, smiling at him, she turned and dashed off. "Come! I'll show you the flowers!" she called out to him.

Blake watched her meekly step towards him and shivered at her touch, her soft voice sending thrill going through his whole body. Yes, he was getting very addicted to this lovely little lady rather quickly and was pleased to know that all was well.
He lifted his head once more, watching entranced as she tossed her mane stamped her feet in obvious excitement, and was actually minor shock when she dashed off, calling out that she's show him the flowers. For a split second he just stood there and watched her run, almost seeming to have forgotten (and to be honest, he actually had) that he could follow her. Again, it was that instinct that told him to stay close to her that told him to place one off in front of other. Like a robot, he took off following her at an easy gait, then sped up till he was just behind her, letting her lead the way.
His mane and tail streaming out behind him, he couldn't remember ever feeling so free...so happy....not that he could remember much anyways, but that wasn't the point. He tried to look at the land around him, but always his gaze was drawn to the dark beauty before him....could one of her likeness really be mateless? It was a hard thought for him to totally get his mind around...it just didn't seem right, one of such beauty, charm and grace to be alone. He would have to ask her...eventually.

She watched him start to come after her, at first she was a bit worried that he would need her further assistance. She tossed her mane and laughed as she pranced in place, her tail flicked against his side as she galloped onward.
She enjoyed being with him, even if it had only been a little while so far. She'd been very lonely lately, all of her friends had began to settle down and some were even foaling, Ares father just had another set of foals with his new mate, it made her feel even more lost.
But now, at Blake's side, she felt that she had a purpose, a sort of worth even if it was only until he got his hooves under him, she sent him a look as the rich colors of the land were suddenly just blurs behind him, and all she could see was him, she shook her head and looked before her, the flower patches were just a few more steps, she slowed down to a trot.

Blake was...well...pretty much lost in a world that basically revolved around Chepi. Her glances backward at him, the way she moved...he was totally smitten with everything about her. In fact, he was so lost in all thoughts of her, he didn't realize she was slowing down till he nearly ran past her. Skidding to slightly ungraceful halt, he finally tore he gaze away from her to look around at where they were arriving.
A meadow of wildflowers greeted his gaze, and a smile like a kid at Christmas lit up his face as he drank it all in. Slowing down to a walk, he lowered his muzzle to sniff some astromeria, his eyes closed in ecstacy. How he adored flowers! Moving a little away from her, he moved carefully amongst the blooms careful to not crush a single one if he could help it. If there were two things in life that Blake treated with the greatest reverence...it was his love and his flowers. Looking up at Chepi, he flicked his tail in happy glee, and with a bow of his head said, "I see the flowers are not different from what little I remember...that gives me much joy to know and comfort as well. Thank you, Chepi, thank you very much."

A great deal of time has passed since Chepi had met Blake, she'd spent many days, and even a few nights with the stallion. She felt closer to him, than she had to anyone else, besides Sin of course, even her wolfy friend liked him, which eased her even more.
But, she'd been away from his side for almost 2 weeks now, and she missed him something awful. But she had found something with more pressing importance, she'd found a small foal near the river, she had done her best to weave a basket quickly and get the little half dead creature within its safe embrace. And having carried it back to her little piece of heaven, she'd been nursing it back to health, rarely even leaving its side, she'd grown a bit thin in doing so but to her, it was worth it.
Head resting between her hooves, and the basket hidden by her tail, her bright aqua eyes were dulled a bit from the lack of sleep, she yawned as her lids grew heavier and heavier, finally she dozed off.
Dreaming of the stallion she missed....

The more time Blake spent in the dark purple beauty's presence, the more he fell in love with her. He honestly saw no flaws in her nature, nor her beauty, and even liked the wolfy friend who tagged along at times. He looked forward to everyday she came back to him, but when the time came that she didn't, he grew very worried.
At first, he'd remained by the flower patches and took comfort from them. but with each passing day, it found him wandering farther and farther way in search of her to whom he longed to give his heart and soul. He ate very little at first, until he met a young indian girl (to whom he must find again...for to her he felt the strangest attachment to) who offered him a pile of apples and gave him very concerned looks, and asked about his health. He was surprised to realize she knew his name already. However, she seemed to realize his heart was elsewhere and accepted fate, disappearing nearly as quickly as she'd come. He did realize that she had a point in him needing to eat, for he knew it would give Chepi great alarm to see him thin.
Anyways, a couple more days passed, and out of pure frustration, Blake gave out a loud whinny in hopes she'd answer. He was getting rather desperate to find her, and the longer it took, the more his heart broke. Where was she? Oh, he hoped she had not found someone better....

The whine caught her attention, her head lifted and sleep filled eyes opened against their will, ears perked forward. She knew that voice, she nickered back at him softly, she slowly stood up, her eyes still heavy from just the little bit of sleep she'd caught.
She shook out her mane and tail, wanting to look her best, her long tail fell over the basket, which wiggled slightly a bit upset its nap was being tampered with, she giggled softly. Her head turned towards the direction of the whine, she wondered what he'd think of the basket, it was as if she'd gone off and had one with another stallion, oh no.. She wasn't that kind of mare.

Blake stood stock still for a second when he heard her answer him, and for a moment thought he had dreamt it. He stood there, ears forward and erect for what seemed to him like forever, but then he caught sight of a movement as she stood and took off at a gallop, all to get there soon as possible.
Mane and tail flying like banners, his face one big smile, and more than likely glowing in relief and happiness to see her, he probably looked like a dream to her...at least till he'd stopped and nuzzled her softly and nipped lightly and lovingly at her cheek. It was then that he saw the change that came over her, how thin she was and exhausted. His first impression was that she looked half-dead and he became very alarmed. "What happened? Are you okay?"
With her tail over the basket, he didn't notice at all, he was so concerned for her welfare, that all else in his mind was of little consequence for the moment.

She smiled, nickering softly, happily that was how they purred. She nuzzled her muzzle into his mane and sighed softly, her eyes closing for a second, she was just beyond all joy seeing him, being able to touch him, she leaned against him a little.
"I've missed you Blake." She said softly, her eyes opened as she moved back a little bit, making sure she let her tail slide off the basket a bit. "Im fine, just been a bit busy is all." She brushed her shoulder against his.

"Lay down...rest, love," Blake murmured, concerned for her welfare yet glad to feel her touch and weight against him. The weeks alone had been pure torture for him, but now...he could imagine nothing better than being back with her.
"I've missed you too," he murmured in her ear, before rubbing his head and neck down her neck and back. It was then that he saw the basket, and he froze. For a moment, his ears went back, but it wasn't out anger, it was sadness. He had never asked if she had a mate, and assumed she didn't....but now he couldn't help but think he'd been wrong. Carefully to hide his inner fears, wanting to be happy for her even as his heart broke, he smiled and tried to look happy and perky as before. "Congradulations," was all he could say before a lump him his throat made speaking impossible.

"Will you lay with me?" she asked her heart had fluttered when he calle her love, it was a much wise choice to lay down as she lowered herself, noting that the basket had been uncovered, and then his words, her ears dropped a little, but as he gave her his congrats she was baffled. The basket didnt look like her at all..and then it clicked, she'd never openingly told him she didnt have a mate.
"For what?" She asked with a tilted head, "For finding you? Been thanking my stars every day for that...For this?" she motioned to the basket, "Im sure its just as thankful I found it.." She smiled up at him. "Mares without mates cannot have baskets you know.." She giggled as if he'd been silly.
"Come lay with me please? I've an important question for you m'dear.." She motioned beside her.

Blake licked his lips and for a moment simply stood there, feeling much like he had after whatever happened to make him lose his memory. His mind felt so clouded that her words didn't make much impression even though he heard them clearly. Mares without mates cannot have baskets kept echoing till it finally clicked in his head and he just kinda looked at her stupidly.
Finally, still not trusting his voice, though hope was growing in him like wildfire, he laid down beside her and nuzzled her cheek. Silently, he watched her, his hopeful gaze looking into her eyes, studying them and trying to figure out what she had to say. The lump, however remained in his throat, but this time for a very different reason.

She smiled at him and looked at the beads on her bracelets for a moment. "I found the foal, put in the basket...been caring for it for a while now..." She looked up at him sheepishly. " I'd like to take care of this basket with you Blake, I'm madly smitten with you. And I dont want to be away from you...I feel like I've lost my soul when we're apart.." She hoped that he felt the same way, she didnt know what she'd do if she was rejected once again..
She looked at her hooves, her tail swayed over the basket as it began to wiggle and soft sounds came from it.
