::silently the figure waited, far enough away from the camp of the stone village so as not to be seen, black fabric fading into the shadows of the brush easily enough. Icey blue eyes watched and waited as patiently as possible, though that patience was worn a little thin, having trailed the group all the way from the stone village::

: surprised ne foot shifted ever so slightly as to readjust body weight. Black fabric stiffled the small beginnings of a yawn. It appeared that no one would be returning soon, much to the figure's annoyance. One deep breath and the annoyance fled, it would do no good to get annoyed or angry at the moment. Instead, the black clad body moved a bit further into the brush, settling in to a comfortable position silently, icey eyes shutting slowly to get some rest before moving again::

Shuten and his team came from the strategy meeting back to their area of the camp. He gestures to his men, who go about with their individual tasks, while he himself leans against an errant tree. He has an odd feeling..almost like..something is here that shouldn't be. He's always trusted his warrior instinct, but he didn't have that sixth sense like some ninja did. He got feelings if something was 'off', but he couldn't single it out and immediately find it usually. Still, if it was an enemy, so much the better. He'd fight it single handedly. Around so many former enemies he couldn't fight, he'd love to meet a straggler from the enemy here in the waypoint he could crush on his own..

..but until then, he leans against his tree, ogling the ladies as they passed by.

::Hinata smiled slightly, the effort seeming a little strained as she looked over the gear that the other nins had brought with them. There was nothing overly special, the typical gear, a few things here or there that were more of less village specific. Overall, they were as stocked and ready as anyone could be that had to travel light::

::Most of them were at least moderately trained for what they were going to do. The range of skills was not so wide as to be a disadvantage, but those with less field experience she would leave back with the main host, such as it was, so that their skills could be combined when need be. Those with more skills would go in with combat groups. Personally, she would go in with the first team, she would not send someone else to do that job, since her skills as a Hyuuga were needed as well::

::as the rest of the group returned to their respective camps she sighed. When finally alone she flopped herself onto the ground, staring up at the sky above, wondering if they really did have a chance at this or if they would simply render themselves to shreds because of bickering::

~Waypoint - stone camp~

::blue eyes slowly opened, she resisted the urge to yawn and stretch, though her cramped muscles surely screamed to do so. She bit down on a curse that threatened to pass her lips as she stared clearly at Shuten's shoulder, his back pressed against a tree not far from her own hiding spot. Silently she berated herself for being so careless::

::slowly she shifted her protesting muscles into a more prepared stance. Her heart began to race a bit in her chest. She would not move, not yet, unawares he had caught her by surprise. If she did anything now she would be at an extreme disadvantage, as she was sure he had not spent the last few hours curled in sleep in the shrubs::

::One foot slipped slowly forward, the rest of her slender black clothed body shifted to follow it. She needed to move, to get a clear look at his face. She winced as her muscles stretched and leaves rustled a bit in protest. Instantly she froze, afraid that the man may have heard her. Her breath stopped, her body froze, as she waited to see if she had been discovered::

He was being watched, and he knew it..but he wasn't really sure from where. It didn't matter. If they wanted him, they'd come to him. He shifts and stands, finally, after having rested for a while. Awake, but resting. Sort of a personal meditation. He walks forward a bit, and slowly but surely, he turns his head from left..to right..looking around...searching for anything..a disturbance..a movement..to the casual observer, he was just looking about at his surroundings..but the glint in his eyes showed he was doing more than that.

Those eyes are dangerous..the intent to kill coming off of this man was almost palpable, tangible..and he always kept that chain-sickle close to him. Looking closely at it, it has a faint aura..maybe it's an illusion of the heat, but..there's a bad feeling that comes off of it, to be sure.

::she slowly exhaled, the breathe softly passing through the black fabric around her face. She only wished that her heart would not beat so loudly in her chest, surely he would hear it if it didn't soon silence itself. She slowly started to move the other foot, feeling the need to move away from her current spot::

idiot, you shouldn't have fallen asleep so close to the camp

::the foot slid more silently than the other and she easily shifted her weight forward, using the underbrush and the shadows. He had moved, away from her luckily, allowing her to slid a step or to forward before she saw his eyes dart back over to the area she used for cover. She froze again, her pale icey eyes catching the look in his coal black ones::

::she surpressed a shiver, not wishing to give herself away more than she may already have. He may seem relaxed, but she did not wholly trust that::

What an irritant. He sighs, and flops back down, cross-legged, and resumes watching all the kunoichi as they walk from place to place. The ones in less clothing, he pays more attention to. It would be easy to see he was leering..even his little watcher would be able to tell that. The girls from stone tended mostly to ignore it. They were familiar with him, and they knew how he was. It was just his nature, and to work with him was worth it, to be honest. Occasionally, his gaze went back to where Tetsujin was in the camp, a distance away..

...but he can't shake that feeling, and he frowns. He grips that sickle-topped chain tightly, and muses..before sighing, and raising his head to the sky. Whatever was watching him might show itself eventually..

::she moved painstakingly slow. Her eyes rolled as she watched his expression and the focus of his eyes on the women. What type of man was this anyway, if thats what he could still be considered::

Hes a man still, otherwise the women would not attract him so. And monsters eventually destroy themselves...

::eventually, she got as close as she dared, the brush got to thin to get closer. She watched him, eyes narrowed a bit. So close, so very close. All she had to do was close those last few strides between them. He was too prepared though, she could read it in the subtle hints of his posture, she would be at the disadvantage now::

::irritably she swatted at a bug that landed too close, wishing only after the movement that she hadn't done it at all. Her eyes flashed back to the man she watched::

Shuten kept his eyes on his surroundings, even as he kept an eye on the women. That subtle pulse..that sense of his..then motion..! The jerking of his arm was fast, for a man his size; he'd stood, spun, and slung the bottom end of his chain weapon impossibly quickly. On the end of the chain is a heavy weight, with knobs over it, making it akin to a mace head. Not only does he sling it at the moving in the brush, but it hits..and splinters..a small tree on the way. That things is more than just dangerous; if it contacts flesh head on, most likely it'll be fatal..and it's headed RIGHT at the figure that gave itself away..

::she moved, to save her life she moved as fast as she could, flattening herself to the dirty ground as he narrowly missed squishing a decent chunk of her. She moved again, not caring this time that she gave herself away, she already had, too late for stealth, right now, it was her life she was worried about::

Fool!

::Her feet pushed as she stood, bouncing her back a few steps, hopefully out of his weapons reach, her eyes glanced around quickly, for a moment locking on to his dark ones. Ever so slightly her eyes narrowed, angry and hurt at the same time::

::She was slender, clothed in all black, about 5'5, her eyes a shocking ice blue. Her empty hands flexed as she watched him, her body poised to run, but something stopped her. As if she knew she could not run directly away for he may catch her, or maybe she didn't want to run away yet. She started at him, anger and curiousity apparent in her eyes::

Mind you, the minute he went crazy, everyone got the hell out of his way. When the girl showed up, the rest of the ninja in his side of the camp jumped up, but he just jerks his free arm up, and yanks his weapon back to coil in his hands. It's supple, that chain. Almost like it's alive, tha's how it moves. He sighs, and tips his head. This is interesting, if a bit irritating. A girl..that's a plus. But she's not much more than a kid. Still, if she's old enough to use ninja hiding abilities even half effectively, and she's already most likely able to breed, then she's an adult as far as he's concerned.

He considers just using the armor..but that's a little premature. He swings the chain around with a smirk on his face..advancing towards the little thing..

"I'll cut straight to the point, little girl..tell me why you're here..before I break your arms and legs and hang you from a tree by your hair.."

: surprised ne hand reached up and pulled off the black hood and mask, letting pale blonde hair fall to her waist, how she got it all under there in the first place was a bit of a mystery in and of itself. By the looks of it she was approximately 18, the skin of her face and neck was creamy smooth, her cold eyes not leaving his face, breifly her tounge flicked out to lick pink lips::

::When she spoke, her voice was edged like a knife, slightly melodic::

I would have thought it was obvious why I was here. Or does a blood rage blind you so easily?

::she twitched half a step back, aware that he told his lackeys to stand back::

It does take him a moment. Then it clicks..and he chuckles. He stretches, looking over her face with a mix of admiration and amusement. Then he does waht he's always done; undress the girl, head to toe, with his eyes. Yeah, he's an old lech these days, but he doesn't let it detract from his training at all. Enjoy life, he's learned, you can die any day.

"You're a mirror of him. That long hair, those cold chilly eyes. Although you've got more appealing assets than he did. I'd be more likely to want to grapple with you than kill you at a distance, darling.."

He grins a fangy grin then, tapping the end of his sickle against his shoulder, and he pops his neck from side to side..

"Am I to understand this is about revenge, pretty girl?"

::the corner of her mouth ticked slightly, though she kept her expression as neutral as she possibly could, considering who it was that she faced at the moment. After a brief look over him, catching the look in his eye, she offered him a smirk::

Then it seems that your memory does not all together fail you, old man.

::her feet shifted, ready to move as soon as she could. It was dangerous to spend this long talking with him. She wasn't entirely sure that he was stable::

In a manner of speaking, yes. However, I am not so stupid as to think that I am a match for you in my current state. You do have a few years on me, if you do recall.

::she let the cocky smirk slid over her lips again, it gave her a look very akin to a smug young cat toying with the tail of the older tom cat::

*As Saeko and Hoshi left with some escorts back to a tent, Shunketsu remained seated and thought the plan over...what they had come up with was probably the best shot they had at getting in, but there was still something bugging him. Shunketsu wasn't one to be confused or bothered once a sound strategy was set...maybe it was the fact that the odds are still against them. Shunketsu didn't know his allies' abilities. So far, they've only experienced their opponent on their own turf, where they had a slight advantage. Who knew what awaited them when they become the away team.*

I don't like this...something's not right. Even with Snow's armor and each village's elite shinobi, this seemed unfair...it was just a bit too hard. There's no chance of a surprise attack. Once we get through that door, it's one narrow path into a containment area. We'd have to break out of that and then go head-on against their army. Last time Saeko and Hoshi were in the base, their army outnumbered our infiltrating parties at least 5 to 1. Maybe I should look over the schematics and think of another plan as a backup...doesn't help that the table's in pieces now.

*As most of the people left, Shunketsu picked up the map to the base and looked it over...*

Sieges are out of the question since they have more power than we do. Come to think of it, there's something I forgot to ask about Snow's armor. It may allow us to use our chakra, but our ninjutsu will still be rendered useless once it leaves the field generated by the armor. Ninjutsu specialists like me won't be of much help inside the base. Close-combat might be the key if the snow armor can penetrate the opponent's armor, but that limits us to relatively few nin. This is troublesome...

If Shuten had been able to hear Shunketsu's thoughts, he'd have told him he was just being weak..although he'd have also told him he was most likely right, too. Still he was focused on this impertinent little brat that came before him as if she wanted to fight. He took on a far too casual stance, and chuckles at the girl, shaking his head, as if totally dismissing her. He's got eyes that speak of a lust for battle, to be sure, but..at the same time, his look isn't that of a crazy man, not even really unstable. If one knew him, they'd know his desire for war was entirely at his whim. It was just his nature to conquer.

"Are you really serious about this? It's stupid to even show yourself if you're not ready to go all the way. But I'll tell you what. How about I play by the rules and make it a fair fight."

A few of them giggle behind Shuten. He's fighting a woman..it means he'll most likely mess around since the girl doesn't look all that tough..

"I'll fight you with no weapon. And one hand behind my back. Your brother was a legend. You..not so much."

And he does just as he says, and places his arm behind his back, with the chain coiled up in it. He's got to be unbalanced, not crazy. Ready to fight someone he hasn't come face to face with, not knowing their techniques, or anything..and already he's taken on a stance that says 'I win'...but it's strange. The moment he assumes that stance, all the playfulness dies..
