He sighed. Why did he have to run into the most stubborn of females. He wasn't going to just allow her to eat grass. He raised an eye brow as she ate a piece and smirked as he watched her face turn into disgust. "well, for one, a lady shouldn't be eating something that they don't like. For two, creatures pee on that." He said with a rather straight face hoping her reaction wouldn't be totally bad.

He tried to continue to keep a straight face, though it wasn't anything to be laughing at, but he couldn't help it. It just seemed rather funny to him. He made another sigh. "Stay here," He said knowhing that she wouldn't leave. Or at least hoping she wouldn't. It wouldn't take too long, and he wasn't even going to leave her sight. He just needed to walk about a yard away to the berry bush. "See that bush over there?" He asked. "I'll be right back. There's some berries over there, that I can get a branch and you can eat."

User ImageZaria shot an irritated look at Hakim. "And what is so funny?" She asked. Her eyes widened as he made his side comment, feeling a sudden heaving in her chest, along with something starting to come up in her throat. No! No way was she gonna...throw up, not in front of him anyway. She wasn't gonna be viewed as weak, after all it was only an, accusation. Who was to say an actual animal possibly urinated on the grass? She tried to swallow it down, hopeing as to not cause a mess. She coughed as her sickness temporarily subsided. "Who...-cough- who said that I didn't like -cough- grass?" She said defiantly.

Zaria looked about around the horizon in front of her, not knowing as to where the bush was until she focused on a small bush close by with small little dots inbetween it's leaves. So that was the bush. She started to stare at the small berries. They would obviously taste a whole lot better than grass. But she couldn't...she could just get the berries when the rain stopped, she didn't need the help of another ulaya. "Its alright
-cough- really...I'm fine now. -cough- Who knew that grass was so...filling?
"

He kept himself from laughing still and just smirked. "Nothing." He simply said to her as he continued to watch for a second. Then, she asked him something else. Was she still trying to make him believe that she liked grass? He sighed. "Well for one. You wouldn't be coughing right now." He said with a raised eye brow.

He couldn't help but let the laugh out now. "Right... Filling. I'll be right back." was all he said and with that, he turned and trotted a crossed the way. Lookin back ever so often to make sure she was ok before he actually reached the plant that had berries on it. He figured, if he doesn't get her something soon, she'll end up throwing up that bit of grass she ate.

As he reached the plant, he looked back one more time then focused on the plant before him. He had to find a nice branch with berries on it. Finally, he just grabbed any branch, they all looked as if they had the same amount of berries on them, and broke it off with one simple head movement. After that, he just turned around and started to slowly walk back to where she was. Rain hitting him, and making him rather wet, but that wasn't even bothering him. Plus, it wasn't as if it was poring. A light drizzle here and there.

User ImageZaria's fur bristled a bit; she just hated feeling looked down upon like that, wether if he had meant it that way or not. "Well... -cough- your..comment, just caught me off guard -cough- , its not the most pleasing this -cough- to hear while your eating....", she replied, a small hint of annoyance could be heard as her sentence drew to a close.

Zaria started to feel a "burning" sensation cross her face as Hakim laughed. She felt like she couldn't contain in her feelings. Slowly getting up onto her paws she shouted out. "Gah! Don't you males ever listen?!" She did somemore slight coughing. "I said that I could get my own food..." She continued, not as loud as her shout before.

Zaria scowled at Hakim as he returned back over, still coughing a bit. There was no way that she was gonna eat them, no way. As he continued on his way back to the edge of the tree, She looked up as she started to hear the patter of the rain hasten; it was probably gonna rain harder soon.

He notice it started raining a bit harder before he actually made it back to her. His fur was drenched, yet he seemed to not even notice it. He placed the berries down and looked back at her. She was rather stubborn he thought. "I did hear you. I just thought it'd be better for me to go out in the rain then you." He paused and looked at her wings. "I'm sure it would be most uncomfortable for ourself." He frowned a bit. He didn't mean to seem like a jerk.

"I do apologize for laughing. I just couldn't help it. The look upon your face was rather amusing. I didn't mean to be so rude." He felt rather bad for making her angry. Though, she wasn't being that polite either.

User ImageZaria turned her head away from the sky and looked over to Hakim and the berries, sitting down. The berries looked so delicious...especially with the small cool drops of rain that dripped off the side of the berrie's skin. It looked so good...but she couldn't. And especially thinking back on what she just said, she wouldn't be suprised if Hakim just took the berries back and ate them himself or something. She didn't really deserve them now.

Zaria tried to think of a reply, but felt rather speechless. All she could hear for a few minutes was the patter of rain hitting the leaves, along with some of her slight coughing which was slowly subsiding. "Of course...I'm sorry for shouting out like that. It..-cough-..wasn't exactly the most grateful act that I could show, with you going out in the rain for me. And -cough-, I thank you for doing that..." She then bowed her head forward.

Zaria started to snicker, raising her head back up. "Well, I guess I shouldn't blame you for laughing..-cough-..I would probably be laughing a bit too if I was you." She replied, still snickering. Though she could only just imagine how she must have looked like in responce to what Hakim had mentioned.

Hakim smiled. So they didn't get off to the right foot when meeting. But it seemed to have turned a bit for the good? Or at least, that's what he was thinking was happening. He couldn't totally tell. "No need for apologizes. What happened, is now just that... In the past." He said with a nod. "A misunderstanding on both parts."

"Some of the most amusing moments happen at unexpected times." He said with a nod. "I hope those berries are something you like. I wasn't totally sure."

User ImageZaria was quite confused, unknown as to why she was starting to act quite differantly from how she was earlier. Well there was no way for her to get through this male, she supposed. She might as well stop her little act, as her attempt to be 'independant' had failed, bringing her to seem more childlike than mature. "Yes, a big misunderstanding..." She replied with a small sigh.

Zaria nodded in agreement, thinking back to past events that seemed quite amusing to her then. Though she couldn't really think of a whole lot. She then looked confused at Hakim as he mentioned the berries. "But..."She stopped midsentence, pausing, imediately what he said. What had happened was in the past.

Zaria kept a straight face, looking at the berries, a smile slowly crept across her face. "Oh, they look quite fine. With my current apetite, I could care less what kind they were." She said with a small laugh. She was about to dive in to munch on a few berries til she froze in place. After a few seconds she sat back up, looking to Hakim. "Oh..sorry. Did you want any?"

He laughed gently. "Didn't anyone ever tell you, that you can't do everything on your own. Some point in time, you've got to let other's help you." He said with a smirk. A small bit a wisdom he learned when he was younger. It was good to pass it on to others.

He smiled as she finally ate something. Took a bit, but at least she wasn't going to starve on him. "No, I ate a while ago." he said with a smile. Though, he'd rather he starved then her. It wasn't like he couldn't handle not eating for a while. "Glad, they won't bother you. Didn't want to get something you didn't like." He said with a nod.

He looked to the sky to see if the raining had stopped. It was now just a small mist, though hadn't totally stopped. Weather was strange. Could be raining one moment, and sunny the next. He couldn't even start to understand it. He shook his body a little to get the droplets off his fur from his little trip.

User ImageZaria's looked down, pawing at a small random leaf that had fallen off a branch. "Well...not really, or at least not that I can remember.." She had often been off on her own, rarely stopping to meet with company. She had always tried to find ways to do things on her own.

"If your sure." Zaria replied, still feeling unsure on being the only one to snack on the berries. She leaned over to take a berry, doing a light tug so as to not drag the whole branch with her. As the berry no longer clinged onto it's stem on the branch, she popped it into her mouth and bit into it, savoring the flavor of the juice. As she swallowed the berry she could feel her throat cooling down, the faint burning sensation going away.

She looked into sky along with Hakim. She sighed with relief as she started to see the rain loosening up again. Hopefully the rain will stop all together. She skooted over an inch or two to give him somemore space to shake some of the water off his pelt.

"Well, you'll never find someone if you don't learn sooner or later." He laughed teasing her. Perhaps it wasn't the smartest thing to do, but he just gave a shrug and smiled. He fond a bird to watch for a few seconds to make it more comfortable for the other. He knew he couldn't deal with people watching him eat, she probably felt the same way.

"No, It's fine. Truly." He said with a nod, glancing back at her. Plus, there really wasn't enough berries there to fill them both up, if he was hungry at all. He shook his foot to get a bit of the water off him. At least they wouldn't have to be stuck there if they happened to want to talk in different place. But that was up to her. he looked back at her. "Looks like the rain will stop soon."

User Image"Alright then" she said, looking down to the branch of berries, a few more berries still clinging onto it's stems. This time she gently wrapped a paw around one of the berries, tugging it off and popping it into her mouth. As she finished off the remaining berries, she began to groom her paws. "Hmph, and why would I want "someone" anyway?", Zaria replied, in a sort of playful tone. Though she wished that she herself would have known the answer. She cleared her throat for a moment, realizing, to her relief, that it was now back to normal.

She got on all fours and slowly inched out a bit from beneath the tree, peeping out from beneath the leaves looking up to the sky, hopeing to a more clear look. "You really think so?" She said, withdrawing herself abit as a small drop of rainwater feel of the tree branch's leaves to her nose.

"Because being alone is one of the worse things that can happen to anyone." He said with a weak smile. It was better to have had love and lost it, then to have never loved at all. Or that's what he thought anyways. At least with finding love and loosing it, one could remember all the good times and wouldn't be quite as lonely. Though, what would he know about that?

He snapped out of his tiny thought as she stood up and peeked out from under the tree. "Yeah, it looks like it could stop any moment." He said now standing as well. "But, I wouldn't test it just yet... I'd wait until totally sure it has stopped." He said with a smile. "unless of course, you can't stand me." He chuckled.

User Image"Zaria thought back about how most of her life had been, but she had grown used to not having much company around. Would a mate really be needed? Zaria backed up a little bit more from the open air, afraid of getting more droplets of water on her head. She looked at Hakim after his last comment, shaking her head as she quickly replied, "Oh, no, it's not that. I mean, you may be a bit challenging to be around...but, I've actually come to enjoyed your company..."

He never really thought of himself being challenging but it made him smile a little. "Can't say that your too easy to be around either." He said with a nod. She was very stubborn, but sometimes others had to accept when they needed help, no matter how independent they were. "Your company has been rather pleasant as well, I say." He said with a bow towards her. He hoped to run into her soon after they were to depart from here.

The sky still was messing with them, the rain stopped for a second and then would start again. It was like it was trying to continue to rain, but was running out of water above. It was only a mater of a few more minutes, perhaps a half hour before it would completely stop. Until then, he'd stay and keep the Lady company.
