She gave a small nod before plopping down on the cushion beside Kai, falling back with a sigh. She tugged the woolen cap that had been holding her hair up off and tossed it to the side. Instinctivly, and without really thinking she reached up to cover her patched eye with her hand and closed her good eye, giving a soft, almost painful sigh.
It ached.
She was told it was just phantom pains, that she was just making them up in her head. They had done a good job and made sure that nothing was left to go bad or wrong... if missing an eye wasn't wrong. She looked up at the ceiling, gritting her teeth as a particularly painful throb shot through her skull.
It had been a miserable day.
Oh right, someone else was here. She rolled over onto her side so her back was to Kai, half curling up with a hand beneath her head. She grabbed for some blankets and hiked them up over herself. "Fine. I'm too tired, just stay on that side and don't hog the blankets."

"O-oh, um...ok..."
Yeah, nothing was said about her eye. He still figured it was none of his business, unless she decided it was. she was just some random person, after all...who happened to be cute, and pretty, and lying down to sleep right next to where he was supposed to.
Yeah, he wasn't getting much sleep.
Still, he decided to lay down as best he could, trying his best not to get too close and not even touching her blankets. Nope, no invading her personal space for him. Though if she wanted to invade his...
...he shut his eyes tightly, and tried to force those thoughts out of his head. This was likely going to be a long night.

"Whateva." She grumbled and huddled further into the blankets. Soon enough she was breathing lightly, a few occasional snores breaking up the even pattern.
Come morning they'd find themselves in an interesting position. Pez was a mover and had somehow managed to curl up so her head was resting comfortably on Kai's stomach. She pressed her face into his shirt, throwing an arm over his chest as well. Heaven knows Kai had gotten it easy that night, she'd kicked someone clear out of bed before.

Kai would be sleeping peacefully, at least once she was on top of him like that. After all, it would be a somewhat comforting presence there, and one with boobs, albeit small ones. Thus, Kai would be sleeping peacefully, up until the point that he woke up...one arm wrapped gently around the girl that was sleeping on him. Initially though, he'd be too drowsy to do much more than look down and blush some, his brain trying to compute the situation and remember where he was.
Things might change, when she woke up and noticed them like that, holding each other.

Pez gave a small groan and opened her eyes. It was a bit disorienting at first, she wasn't used to staring at that particular wall when she woke up. She definitely wasn't used to being in this particular position. What was more - her pillow was breathing. She blinked and lifted her head slightly, squinting as she struggled with the further disorientation of only having one eye to see with. For a moment there was a mental struggle to open the left, and then she remembered.
"Mrhhnn..?" She half sat up, glaring balefully at the intruder to her bed. She remembered this too, though. She'd invited him to stay. Pez half wished she would have pushed him off the cushion during the night and that he'd have stayed there but it seemed they'd unconsciously found a way to compromise.
Pez sighed and rubbed her palm against her patch, scrubbing awkwardly at an itch. "Mmmh... what.. ah..." She flopped back down on the bed, burying her face into the pillow so her voice was muffled, her hair spread in a dusty black halo around her head. "What do you want?"

"...pretty..."
That was all Kai's mind had him say initially, though it was mostly under his breath. Still audible, but...soft enough that she might wonder if she'd really heard it. and then, his mind caught up with the situations, and he blushes a deeper color and moved away some...falling out of the bed.
"A-ah, I'm sorry...I just woke up like that, and...and I didn't want to move and disturb you..."
Poor nervous guy. Maybe he'd do better if he grew a backbone, rather than groveling all the time. Then again, as this had been trained into him, who knows how he'd turn out if someone actually encouraged him.

Pez sighed into the pillow, turning her head to the side. "Mmeh.. it's okay. Jes.. ah." She sat up, yawning and finally standing. "Jes uh... whatevah." She waved a hand and stumbled toward the kitchen.
Coffee.. she needed coffee. Or something with caffeine. Something to wake up. She probably looked mussed and rumpled to all hell... very unattractive. She pressed her lips together tightly and quickly shoved that train of thought to the side.
"Wan' some coffee?"

"Uh, no. That's fine..."
Coffee was...ew, to him. Though he'd never tried it either. The idea just seemed odd, drinking something like that. his mother enjoyed it, but...seeing as he'd always been more of a morning person he'd never needed it. Lucky him, the little b*****d.
He couldn't help but watch her though. Looking all rumpled from just waking up, she really was cute, even with the eye patch. And with that thought, he couldn't help but smile a little at her, though he didn't even notice.

"Uhhh... alrigh' well... that's about all I got for breakfast. I need to go t' the store later." She ambled over and went about fixing a proper brew, if there was one thing she always had in stock it was coffee and filters. After setting up the machine she turned and leaned back against the counter, giving Kai a serious look.
Now that it was daylight she could see him more clearly. He looked youngish, a bit ruffled from sleeping in his clothes. He definitely seemed to be an interesting person. "Uh... ya don't have to stay around if ya don't wanna... this place isn't much to look at."
Get groceries and clean she added mentally.

"I, ah...I could always buy you breakfast?"
He sounded a bit unsure of whether it was appropriate to be asking or not, but she had let him sleep there, and then she'd had the bad experience of waking up that close to him, so...he owed her some, he figured. Besides, it wasn't like he didn't have plenty of money...

Pez blinked, tilting her head slightly to the side. She reached up immediately to scrunch her hair up so it wouldn't hang around her shoulders and face. She glanced around for a rubber band or something so she wouldn't have to keep holding it, finding what she sought and quickly tying her hair up.
"Ah... Breakfast? You'd buy it?" Her stomach gave a slow turn as she realized how hungry she was. She hadn't really eaten anything last night... and it wasn't really like her to decline a free meal. "..Sure, yeah. Alrigh'. Give me a moment to get ready."
She unplugged the coffee pot and scuttled toward the bathroom, quickly throwing on the clothing she'd been wearing yesterday. They didn't smell and with a little spritz from some cherry scented spray-s**t she was ready. She headed back out, looking almost like an expectant hungry animal. "Ready." She reached into her pocket to make sure her keys were there, satisfied by the jingle.

"Looks like you're hungry, huh?"
Wow, finally, a non-nervous statement. More amused than anything. Still, he'd wait for her to be ready, and then lead her back out to his car, looking over at her half curiously.
"So...is there anyplace in particular you'd like to go?"

Pez gave a rueful smile. "'Course I am, jes woke up."
When he lead the way out she locked the door behind her, sitting in the passenger seat once more. She leaned back, yawning. "Mmmhh.. I only know fast food drive-through type breakfast places. And before ya ask I went on foot."
She reached out to tap lightly at the dashboard, thinking. "Some place with coffee." She needed her coffee.

"That...doesn't help, as I was kinda hoping you knew the way to someplace, and could give me directions..."
Yeah, remember, Kai might have had a car but he had no sense of direction and was easily lost when left to his own devices. Knowing him, they could leave and miss every place within 20 miles with him getting lost...

"Uhh... al'righ.." She rubbed her face a little and thought. Just because she'd never been to one didn't mean she didn't know the locations to any places. "I think there's a cafe somewhere around here. Close to the river."
When they got moving she managed to skillfully point the way to a small cafe that didn't look dirty at all. It resembled most cafes and was called 'The Oak Table'. Pez looked up at the sign from inside the car. "How's this?"
