Kiefer had only been accually swimming once before, and it was in the ocean. That was such a good time, no wonder Auriga enjoyed swimming so much. It was a col feeling, having something completely surrounding you.
"Maybe I was wrong..." he said, looking at the sky. Maybe they had just been in the eye of the storm, because it seemed to be coming down incrediable agressively again. "But anyway...that is too bad you grew up alone. I mean... I could never relate. I grew up surrounded by others" he said, feeling a bit of pitty for her.
"Hmm...water..." he said, trying to think. "I saw a pond a bit back, I think. Have you ever gone swimming in the rain?" he asked. He himself had not, of course, but the idea sounded rather fantastic. Plus, she would like to be surrounded completely by water, right?

Auriga looked at Kiefer, the most genuine of smiles on her face.
"I.. I would like that very much..." Her smile widened. She wasn't sad about her past. She never felt vengeful or hard done by. But she did want companionship sometimes, and even someone to fall asleep with once every now and then. But on the whole, she was happy. Especially right now, with someone to talk to.
"Auriga straightened herself up, feeling happy. "So! Where is this pond?"

"This way, I think" he said, happy that she was happy. He looked off to the east,and began to trot in the direction. "I am pretty sure it is like, really...REALLY..."
SPppplloooosh!
He found himself knee-deep in mud. "I think we are there!" he said, with a laugh. "Or at least very close, the pond has overflown" he said, moving forward in the muck. It vaugly occured to him that he might get stuck, but it didn't really matter much.
In a few moments, the mud turned into water, and he moved his legs to keep himself afloat. Such an odd feeling, swimmining in the rain. It wasn't the safest thing to do during a thunderstorm, but Kiefer certainly didn't know that. The air felt cooler then the water, but the water wasn't entirly warm either. It was like normal air-temperature, as if you were in thick, treadable are.

Auriga burst out laughing as Kiefer ended up in the mud. Not one to leave him alone in there, she paddd round beside him and waded in also. As soon as they reach water, Auriga couldn't help but smile widely as she swam around, the water lapping over her back and up her neck. There was something strangely calming about swimming in the rain.
She turned to Kiefer and splashed him, laughing. "So much for you being afraid of water, Kiefer! I'm almost annoyed at myself for you beating me in!"

He laughed as she splashed him, and made sure to splash her back. "I'm not afraid of water, not anything! I figured I was soaked anyway, so why now"
He dipped his head under water, something he hadn't done since he was a colt. How weird it was to do so, it was like the level of sound that he was used to completely changed, and there was a low and quiet roaring all around him, as well as the splashing of the rain from above. He resurfaced.
"I think I rather like the rain now" he said with a laugh, wonderinf how rediculous his mane looked, particularly considering it was now plastered down onto his head. He felt his muscles ache mildly from keeping himself afloat, they were not muscles nor a moment that he was used to. He let his hooves sink to the bottom, having to hold his head up high and point is nose to the sky to keep it above water, which must have looked quite ridiculous.

Auriga was still laughing as Kiefer resurfaced, his mane sticking to him more than ever, if that was possible. She watched him rest on the waterbed and paddled to the shadows so she too could rest her legs. She made sure to only be so deep in that the water only reached her shoulders. She looked at him, a large smile in her face.
"I'm glad you see my point! You can't deny it a lovely feeling..."
Despite loving the rain, Auriga had never enjoyed a gloomy day quite like this. She enjoyed Kiefer's company, especially his silly streak that kept accidentally showing itself. With a grin, she leapt back into the deep part of the water, sending a little wave over Kiefer.

"It is quite a bit of fun!" he said, jumping up and down in the water, causing it to undulate and flow to Auriga. The stallion began to move torwards more shallow water, his back cascading down waterfalls of water as he was about half way out.
The water was amazing, but had gotten rather boring very quickly. He shivered, it was getting very late. He knew he could stay up for all he wanted to, but he was getting very, very tired.

Auriga laughed and followed Kiefer out of the water... There wans't much point in shaking herself, but she yawned slightly. Running in mud, tree pushing and swimming... It was a reasonably exhausting but enjoyable day! She looked at Kiefer with a smile.
"Thank you... for spending today with me... You made an otherwise stormy day wonderful..." She scuffed her hoof sheepishly.

"Not a problum, Auriga" he said, whipping his tail around. Droplets of water flew off it. The rain seemd to be letting up a bit, or maybe that was just his imagination. Either way, as this point it didn't mater, he would be soaked either way.
"I was lots of fun, although I imagine you would still have fun with out me. It was me who should thakn you, rain usually makes me quite cranky" he added, yawning. He could see the moon deep on the horizon. It couldn't be too far from sunrise. If he didn't get to sleep soon, he would find himself becoming quite nocternal.
"I think I ought to find a place to sleep" he said, looking over to the east. It seemed as if the clouds had begun to break up, and bits and peices of deep blue sky shone through. "So I supose I shall see you again some time, hopefully?" he asked.

Auriga smiled widely and nodded. "I'd very much like that, Kiefer... and I'm glad you saw the good side of the rain.." She laughed slightly and walked over to him before giving him a gentle peck on the cheek.

Kiefer's eyes widened, and if it wern't for his fur, the night, and the rain, his cheeks would have visibly turned red. "We....well, bye then!" he said, a bit in shock about what just happened.
He backed up, and walked away. "See you soon, Auriga!" he said, unsure of himself, and trotted away, deep in thought. Well, not really deep. Only one question really ran through his mind.
Wait, what just happened?

Auriga couldn't help but smile. In any other circumstances, she might have taken offence to such an abrupt goodbye, but she had a feeling it was her own doing. With a gentle laugh, Auriga turned also and set off into a canter.
I wonder... if he and I will ever meet again...?
