There are ugly gamer girls as well as pretty gamer girls. I only know 3 of them, one of them online, but out of these three, two are what I would consider cute or attractive. The other one is not as pretty as them, but she's not a hideous either. So I guess it's just like in the real world: there are ugly girls as well as pretty girls.

THAT'S SO TRUE. They're are some pretty dorky, not very attractive guy gamers out there.

Then again... there are girls like me out in the world who are told they look good in a tanktop and jogging pants (house clothes) xd .

I mean sure gamer girls might not wear as sexy/revealing clothes like what most girls considered hot/pretty would (or even if they do wear that... wtf's the point in wearing that if you're just in the house?). It's not like if you say "I hate popular culture" or something like that.. makes you a reject or unacceptable by everyone. You like what you like and you should stand by that.

My opinion.. if you try to change yourself just because you don't like being shoved into a crappy stereotype.. that's selling out. I refuse to do so. I just feel people who even bother to stereotype gamer girls as unattractive are just plain ignorant.

(My family is made up of Gamer Girls and we all have either modelled, won pagents, prom queen, are singers in bands/musicians, cheerleaders, soccer/simming/track varsity players, doctors, nurses, engineers, artists, writers, married with kids, ... etc... you get my point...)

Pretty much. I think this stereotype is started by the friends of guys that have gamer girlfriends. A girlfriend that likes to play halo with you? It's a sweet deal for most guys, and there isn't a guy with a console out there that wouldn't want a gamer girlfriend.

And the ones that don't have one feel bad sometimes because they can't hook a chick, so they say that all gamers girls are ugly.It's the 'Fox-and-grapes' situation from Aesop's fables.

There are some ugly ones, but some women in the overall population are just ugly in general. There's no connection between games and being ugly.

I for one, happen to dress like a guy (cargo pants and t-shirt) but end up getting whistled at because of it. I was raised an overly-tough girl, and apparently having a girlfriend that can beat them up/ isn't a whiny windbag is a turnon for some guys. *shrug*

Not to say I don't have a girlish figure or a nice face. I like to fancy that I do, and many people tell me so. Not miss-america, but I suppose that if I did wear all the stereotypical things I'd get more guys hounding me.

Man, I went to this carnival about a week ago and there was this booth where a bunch of guys were playing Guitar Hero II. I went up and got the second-highest score (the first was the guy running the booth). The looks on their faces was priceless. I doubt they thought I could even last through the song, just because I dress in trendy clothes and wear makeup. When I started telling them how to take advantage of the combo system, they actually said they couldn't believe I actually knew more about the game than they did. *shrugs*

That is wrong, I mean sure some girls are ugly and some pretty, But most of the time ugly girls act like stock up witches so they don't care. Still I have never seen an ugly gamer chick, so I can't really answer that. Still, I am a tomboy I like to play and beat the boys at well, everything I can! But one girl, a barbie witch, if you please, dared to calll me a disgrace to all girls because I play videogames and play with boys, keep in mind I'm 14 years old! Still people say I'm a weird combination of pretty and fun, go figure! That thought is reatarded, after all It's just a way of them to say a girl didn't beat me! A tomboy did..., They're stupid!
