Zeki rolled around before coming back to his father who moved out of the den a bit. He slide under him and purred contently.
"Well, you are right. I was concerned for him and I acted the way I did. It was one of the first times he has ever been in that sort of danger. If I lost him... I don't know what I'd do. Trina and I.... I just cannot bare to lose him," Ger spoke sincerely as he pulled his son close who wiggled in his grip to get back to playing with Sen. "I knew it would be dangerous to take him to the Elephant Graveyard, but I knew the hyena there and I thought we could just talk and go quickly. However, that was not the case and I acted rashly. I guess that is what happens when something close to you is threatened."
It was then that Zeki paused and looked up at him as Ger smiled back down at him.
"What are you smilin' at now, Dad? Do I have something on my face?"
"No, just that ugly mug of yours."
"Liar! I got it from you, so that means yours is too!"
They chuckled softly.

Mwokoti nodded. She'd assumed as much. "Are you well now, then?" They looked it, but if time had taught her anything in situations like these, it was that looks could be deceiving. It had been so long she'd had an honest connection to another being, she had almost forgotten how they worked.

Ger wrapped a paw around his son and smiled. So this was it? He had his son worried about this? To him, it didn't seem like a whole big deal, in fact, just a small bump in their father-son relationship, every relationship had bumps. This was their first. The father licked the son's head softly and smiled up at the Goddess.
"Yes, for me."
Zeki wiggled in his father's grip, giggling at his father's actions against his own. Being one of small in size against one much larger was a big contrast but they were so much alike by persona and heart it was hard to tell. Zeki's deep red eyes glinted in the sunlight and his father's gleemed of wisedom that came with age. It was odd that lions become adults in under a year, it was difficult to actually tell how old one was without the physical signs. When Ger's maw moved down to lick him once again, his paws reached out and held onto the sides of his muzzle.
"Yup! I'm okay now, Lady Mwokoti. Thank you for taking the time to help me out," he chuckled as he rolled back out onto the ground, out of his father's grip. He looked back and smiled sweetly at the female cub. "Thanks for coming with us, Miss Sen."
