I think this is a great movie for it's age. I know the Shark looks nothing as real as the shark's they make in the movies these days but it's great and when I first saw this film it was pretty scary and when I went to beaches I didn't wanna go in the water. confused

I don't find sharks scary, I think they're pretty cool really. Jaws is still a good movie, and I'd watch it over most of this PG-13 horror any day.

It was a good movie. You have to be afraid of sharks to be afraid of that movie. My cousins still can't watch that movie till this day.

Narquelie You have to take into consideration when it was released. When it was released this movie was frightening to a lot of people. 30 years ago special effects weren't what they are now. Today people see violence on TV all the time so everyone becomes desensitized one way or another. I wasn't scared either but I still enjoy it every time I see it. I had a friend that had her tv brought out near her pool for a Jaws party and she had friends over and they all watched it from the pool while sitting in innertubes. That made it extra scary for them, and everyone that watched it didn't want to go back into the pool afterwards. But back to the movie, if you thought it was tame fine but to many (including me) it's a classic that will be cherished for a long time. true

This movie would not be scary now, but the standards were diffent in the70's. I think the first and 2nd ones are O.K, but the last two are just terrible. 3nodding
