Shikoba smiled. So he was right. Well, that's what you get for being new at this. Trial and error.
"That's fine, Aishwarya. I don't need anything from you right now. All I ask is for your friendship. And as you say, if there is more, we'll deal with that when it happens."
He smiled and watched her. He felt on the slightest bit as if he had been shot down. But when he looked at it rationally, she hadn't said yes or no. In fact, there wasn't even anything to say yes or not to at the moment. For now, all he hoped was that the two of them could be friends. Looking back, he was glad that she had stumbled upon the lake as he was there today.

Some inner instinct told her that if she didnt give some encouragement this meeting might end the way the others had. She wasnt desperate but she didnt also want an opportunity to slip through her hooves..life was for living after all!
'You have that..' she said in a whisper, and she turned to him, moving her head upwards and brushed her nose against his, blowing warm air gently. Just a little gesture..
'Sooo..' she chuckled gently.
'Shall we continue walking?' she asked in a breezy manner, as though their conversation hadnt suddenly become quite intense.

Shikoba was quite taken aback at this sudden gesture. He thought he had almost lost any connection they might have had, but then, with such a simple touch, new hope sparked inside him. As she asked to continue the walk, he looked at her curiously. She must be playing another game. Not a minute ago, she had been very serious, and now she was giggling again. Well, if she wanted to play games....
"If you can keep up..."
Shikoba grinned and suddenly took off, nudging Aishwarya gently with his muzzle as he passed her. As he ran, he turned his head to see if she was playing along and giving chase.

'Only if you dont fly!' she called after him, watching him for a little while as he cantered off and then shaking herself from her almost daydream state.
With a flick of her long mane she trotted off after him. The motion of her movement kept her hair swept up and away from her legs..which given the amount that could feasibly tangle and trip her was a good thing. Aishwarya enjoyed the feeling of the stretch of her muscles, the firm earth making a drumming sound as she struck it with her hooves.
She caught up with Shikoba and passed him a little, the bangles merrily jangling away as she cantered swiftly along.
She turned it into a gallop, running ahead off him a few yards before turning on her heels and looking back at him, her mane falling around her neck in waves.

Shikoba actually laughed. He was really enjoying his time with Aishwarya. He had never enjoyed his time with somebody this much. It really felt great.
When Aishwarya passed him, he sped up a bit, trying to match her gallop, but she was a lot faster than you would think with all her hair. His own long golden and red hair whipped in the wind as he continued to speed up.
But then she suddenly stopped. He tried to stop, and ended up having to dig his rear hooves into the ground so as not to run into her. Instead, he tripped over his own hoofs and tumbled to the ground, landing on his side. He quickly got up, trying to look as if it was no big deal, and grinned at her.
"That wasn't fair."

Aish had smiled at the laughter she heard from Shikoba as she had gained and then passed him. When she had halted she had thought that Shikoba would see in time and when he skidded to an undignified halt and fell to the ground she stepped forward a step with a gasp.
'Are you okay?' she said, and felt relief as he got up and seemed to be in one piece.
'I'm sorry,' she said, looking very contrite.

Shikoba's cheeks were reddening agian, and he hid behind his long mane once more.
"I'm fine. Just a little tumble"
He heard her apology and snorted a little.
"Suuuure you're sorry."
He looked back up at her, a michevious look on his face. On the inside, he was still marvelling at how much Aish brought out in him. He had never felt this comfortable with anybody before, and it was actually quite relaxing to not have to put up a front to her.

'I am!' she snorted. Here she was being as open and artless as she ever was and this was what he thought..? Then she caught sight of his expression and clipped a hoof on the ground, the movement setting her bangles jangling.
'Now that wasnt fair.' Aishwarya didnt normally act in a petulant manner but she had a feeling that he would allow it, and might even react in a way that would show more of whatever feelings he held for her. She turned her head, tilting it down slightly and let her hair fall in a curtain that prevented Shikoba from seeing her face.

Shikoba chuckled a little to himself. He then took a step towards Aish and nudged her neck lightly with his muzzle. He knew she was faking, but he'd play along a little.
"Awww, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings."
He thought she might be smiling, or trying to hold back a laugh while she was hidden behind her hair. He knew she was just playing with him, and he liked it.

Aishwarya flicked the long hair from her face and smiled at Shikoba. It had worked, and she was pleased.
'You didnt but I enjoy your attentions.' she chuckled softly. She gave a little shiver; evening it seemed had stolen up on them and the air had turned colder.
'I think I shall wend my way back to the Village...I have enjoyed meeting and talking to you though.' she clipped closer to him and nudged his side gently.
'I'll see you again?'

Shikoba smiled as she nudged him. He would have offered to walk her back to the Village, but it seemed she wanted to go alone. Plus, he made his home in the mountains in the opposite direction of the Village.
"I do hope so, Aishwarya."
And with that, he gently touched his muzzle to hers. His wings fluttered a tiny bit before he withdrew his head and looked at Aish.
"Goodnight"

The last press from him to her muzzle seemed to linger long after Shikoba had gone on his way.
'Me too..' she said quietly after he had left her, and she said goodnight to the air before turning on her heel and leaving for the Village.
