He did the appropriate hand signs and tried again. This time, he felt that he had a better chance of getting it right. HE ran towards the wall. This time he got very close to the ceiling of the cell. He however didn't have the right amount of chakra in his feet this time. HE went rolling down the wall, and rolled out onto the floor."Umph." He slowly got up.
"You almost had it that time." His friend said to him. "Keep trying, you'll get it." Ikkoku got up and dusted himself off.

After exploring the town for a while Jericho figured he better do what Sensei said and go see the Kage. He didn’t know why he was suppose to see this person, or why this person was important, but he was new so he figured he had better do what he was told. He yawned and made his way towards the kages office.

Jericho ran into the village and came to a screeching halt at the intersection. He jumped up and down and looked around. "Which way, which way, which way, which way......THERE!"

He then stopped jumping and sprinted towards the academy.

(IC) - Intro

She looked nerviously over her shoulder and her eyes widened in panic. Her enemy was catching up to her at a shockingly fast pace. She was the fastest person she knew, well excluding the ninja she had seen sparingly over the short years of her life. It had been her foe since her birth and she didn't even know why it had chose her as its target. Only that it had done just that, it had singled out her. It was close, it would be upon her soon.

Vesimine looked around nerviously as she entered a clearing but when she saw nothing daunting she put her back to a tree and finally broke into tears. She knew it would hurt, but there would be no blood. And yet it would hurt, the pain would sear her through her making her blood boil in its veins like liquid fire. But it would be cold, an icy feeling she knew was unique only to her.

Because she wan't normal. The once shady clearing filled with sunlight slowly but without her notice at first. When she did she began to scramble tring to move, to get up, to run. To do someting, anything! But to no avail. Her ripped and torn robes were falling off her shoulders and the twelve year old had never felt so exposed in the face of the growing light. She shyed away from it but it drew ever closer, until finally; it touched.

She threw her head back and her long carnage red hair swept the ground. A scream tore from her lips, pain unlike any other. A pain only she could feel. Her skin burned and blistered at the touch of the rays, rays so gentle to everone else, but not to her. To her; it burned. As the sun teasingly kissed her skin in a inflamed caress she sent up a feverent prayer for a cloud to pass by. Her throat closed violently and her skin bubbled and blackened. As she collapsed her flesh still smoldered and ignited charing her even in unconsciousness.

The receptionist had just had a lovely European style lunch at the witch market where his aunt lived and man could she cook! Now though the witch market was buzzing. Rumours were flying that Mistress was planning to demolish their hangout and panic was starting to set in. Her reputation had not escaped them. The Romany people had always been indifferent to the rulers of the village and the previous Kages had not particularly cared. But now was different... It was, perhaps, a good thing that Batou was only half Romany. And a trusted member of the office. Well a receptionist. And would knowing some secrets make him even more dangerous...?

His depressing thoughts, however, were cut short with a piercing, painful raw scream. It seemed to have come from an alley near the outskirts of town, and off he went, running as quickly as he could. My my, he seemed to be helping a lot of people today wasn't he? Although it was technically part of his job.

The sight that befell him was shocking. A young, tiny girl, horrifically pale compared to his darker skin, being half Romany half Japanese and all, dressed in rags was lying face down, unmoving, in the alley, even as her flesh burned. It was quite disturbing, but Batou grit his teeth and picked her up gently before Shunshin-ing to the Hospital. There was no time to waste.

Batosai arrived into the village by the habor. As he walked through the streets he observed the life styles of the villagers here, from merchants to even ninjas themselves. It suprised him that this wasn't like all the other villages he seen in his lifetime. He pulled the paper out of his pocket and observed it yet again. He then looked to the east and begin to think, "Time to embrace my destiny." At that thought he turned his direction at the eastern part of the village as he was seeking something important for him that he believed that it should be the first thing to do.

Sensei was in one of those roadside taverns that also sold other food, making it accessible to people of all ages. He was waiting for his longtime friend, Batou, also more widely known as the receptionist of Mistress' office. His shift would end in 10 minutes' time, so Sensei had just arrived early to save him a spot.

"Sake," he stated bluntly to the shopkeeper when he'd come to take his order. Then his face softened. "And the regular."

"Okay, so actually, dinner is going to be in a tavern," Batou said, half matter-of-factly before morphing into slightly apologetically. "But the tavern also sells proper food, and drinks that aren't alcohol, so that is perfectly okay right?" he asked in concern.

"Well, anyway, if things go as expected my friend should just be in here..." Ducking to enter the tavern, going down the steps, before straightening up to his normal height again, Batou nodded at the restaurant owner before entering. He immediately spotted the wrapped-in-black head that was his best friend.

"How's it going? Those academy kids going all right for you?" Batou asked cheerfully, pulling Vesimine in. "If you don't mind, I totally brought company. This is Fuyu Vesimine. She'll be attending academy tomorrow. We met at the hospital!" Batou added with a grin. "Well actually before that but whatever..."

Sensei cut him off, but it wasn't in a rude manner. "Fuyu-san, huh?" he said in his crisp, thin, yet refreshing like a spring breeze voice, one hand brushing offending light hair from his left eye. Answering his friend's question could come later as they spent so much time together. "You can call me Sensei. I'll be your academy instructor until you graduate. Obviously." Sensei couldn't help adding this as well.. it was obvious.

"Take a seat," Sensei said and left it at that.

"Just order what you want, but nothing illegal," Batou filled in for him with an encouraging grin. "We'll be watching. Not that you would.. right?"

Vesimine giggled at the antics of the two men respectively. "Thank you, it is a pleasure to meet you Sensei." She bowed politely and just low enough to insure to anyone who happened to see that she was sincere in her gesture. "I'm glad to meet the man I will apperently be spending quite a few years in the company of. And no Batou-san I would not order anything illegal." She said flatly and almost borderline condicendingly as she took the porfered seat. As their seemed to be a man waiting for their orders and she didn't wish to forstall him any longer than necessary she turned to him next.

"I would like a virgin," She stressed the word. "Raspberry Daiquiri and a shrimp coctail, thank you." She turned back to the men and explained her choice by saying, "I only ever eat lightly for obvious reasons." As if that explained everything.

[I think Batou has the papers right? XD]

Batou pouted a little; he was certainly acting a lot more relaxed now that he was technically not the secretary of the Kage anymore - for a few short hours at least. "Sorry Fuyu-san. I guess I was talking so much that I just said the wrong thing." And actually the reasons were not that obvious, but Batou kept silent. Well, before giving Sensei the papers, anyway.

"So, since Fuyu-san is attending academy tomorrow, here are the papers!" he said with a grin, unaffected by the borderline contempt (?).

Sensei took them and nodded. He seemed perfectly content to just sit there, sip his sake and eat his yakisoba. Which he did quite gracefully.

There was quite the silence in which Batou was expecting his counterpart to say something, but he didn't, and so Batou finally spoke.

"Most of our meals are like this," he confessed to Vesimine with a sheepish grin. "It's like, we enjoy each other's company without the need to talk, you know? But anyway. How has Kiri been? And how was the meeting with Miss Temperamental?" Batou was obviously referring to Mistress.

"Well other then how busy it seems to be Kiri is a wonderful place. As far as the lady Kage is concerned I found that she was a very nice and polite person to those who were not being complete... ... nusences to her and her obviously quite hectic scedual." She smiled innocently as she recieved her glasses from the man. Thanking him with the inclining of her head. "I found that I rather enjoyed her company." She reaced into her pocket and polled out a small glass container no bigger then the first nuckle of her pinky. She uncorked the vial and poored it into her drink swirling it slightly before taking a sip.

Upon hearing Vesimine's opinion of Lady Mistress Sensei stiffened slightly, but Batou smiled.

"Well, I guess you're one of the lucky ones," he said offhandedly. "Like the Fubuki girl. You just have that something she sees in you. Although," he said objectively and fairly, "the people that Mistress is extremely biased against start off pretty rude to her, too, so it's hostility on both sides."

Batou's curiosity was struck (OOC: whatever the word is) upon seeing the vial. He could tell that Sensei was equally interested, but his companion was just eating his seemingly unlimited supply of noodles.

"What's that, Fuyu-san?" he asked.

Vesimine blinked up at them for a moment then it suddenly accured to her that these men were not fermilier with her or her clan. "Oh, I'm sorry its just that I'm so use to being around people who already know or could guess that I didn't take into concideration that I would possibly need to alaberate further." She seemed mildly apologetic and she bit her lip softly. "That was a diluted mixture of Foxglove and Belladonna - poisons. My family is one of the few that practice the living anti-toxin codes. you see I've already ingested both poisons at a previous times but by combinding them I give my body more of a resistance against a mixture of more then one poison and one time." She took another sip of her drink.

"The more poisons and herbs I take in, the more likely I cannot be harmed by such things and the more likely I will be able to heal and poison at any given time. Even though I'm young - at any given time I could mix even healing herbs with my blood and turn it into one of the most deadly poisons. It quite useful as my family has proven many times." She finished and took a healthy swig of her sweet beverage.

(OOC) My spelling is atrocious! Ha I can even spell the work to discribe how bad my spelling is!
