I think all of these "equality" theories are wonderful.....and would be 100% true.....IF we lived in a perfect world.

But we don't, and souls are judged, and they do lose value for things such as rape and murder. You say they don't generally but they do lose "personal" value to you, well thats all there really IS.

If you think a person's soul doesn't lose value then...

1. Get Raped, I dare you to say you are equal to them after that.

2. Let a murderer kill your entire family, once again, I dare you to call them equal, I dare you to say they deserve to live.

Tell me, if I put a gun to your head and said I was going to kill you and everyone you love, would I not lose value and right to live?

I would.

That is the reality of an imperfect world, NOTHING in any form of existence is perfect, not even the Gods and Goddess'. If it was, there wouldn't be murder, there would be thieves, there wouldn't be harm nor rape, there wouldn't be wars.

So you see....not everything is a sweet sugar coated "we're all equal =D oh the world is so perfect".

You see, though...I believe in some form of a God. While of course the people who commit murder and rape lose subjective value to me, they don't lose value to the God I believe in. Subjective matters to me, sure, but not the overarching God.

I wouldn't want a perfect world. We couldn't learn there.

Overarching? I also wouldn't want a perfect world, It would be too boring(and would put me out of a job on the other side).

Our difference is I don't put all of my stock in subjectivity. Yes, that soul I might judge, and it might lose value to me. But in my beliefs, God does not judge that soul, and thus the soul loses no value to God. And what I think and feel is nothing compared to what God does.

I was just asking what overarching meant, since I couldn't find it in the dictionary XD.

For me, it is not just all life that is intrinsically equal, but all things we can see and perceive in their entirety. Life AND nonlife. Human beings make value judgements and these value judgements are by their nature, biased. We put some things worth more than other things but the moment we become nonjudgemental of the universe, it becomes an equal ground for all things. Once you get outside of yourself, your individual perspective, then further outside of humanity's perspective to see through all things, all things are equal and have their place as they are meant to.

Most human beings cannot stand this sort of perspective, though, because as mentioned, we're judgemental by nature.

doesnt matter if we wanted a perfect world or not, we stil wouldnt get one...

*sick and twisted lol should be inserted*

anyway

it is entirely impossible for us to have a perfect anything, i dont think we could function
human nature demands chaos

Very true, however when I say that "this world is imperfect" I mean all existence. Physical and beyond. Like I said, even the Deities are not perfect.

there is one diety who is supposedly perfect but they base the definition of perfect off of the actions of their diety so christianity doesnt really count.

"If any being is almighty, can he make a an object so large that he cannot even move it?"

And, for the imperfect part. YHWH created the tree of life, he created a temptation for adam and eve.

"If you eat from this tree you will be come like god, knowing of good and evil".

God knew of evil? Yes, he created it, lucifer.

I feel so confused when I see people attach such value to life. I'm never sure whether I should be sad for them, angry at them, or simply laugh at them. It's quite troubling indeed.

Life is worth nothing, human or otherwise.

So are you saying I can kill your parents and you wont be upset? =D

(sorry people, sometimes you HAVE to be brutal to get a point across)

True XD, I'd party if somebody killed my father. But I'd protect my mother with every ounce of my life even though she(through her religion) has limited my life so much.

"If any being is almighty, can he make a an object so large that he cannot even move it?"

An all powerful being could do that. He, She, or it could alter the rules that affect them at any time they wanted for any reason. This includes altering the rules so that he she or it has created so large a rock that he she or it can not move it. And if he she or it needed to move it or wanted to for some reason he she or it could alter the rules back so that they could do so.

The best part about being all powerful is that if you don't like the rules you can change them. I wish I could do that when I play Monopoly.

That does not make him imperfect. That Adam and Eve ate of the fruit makes them imperfect.

Some might argue that providing Adam and Eve a choice was the only just thing God could do as it is immoral of God to deny Adam and Eve the right to think and act of their own accord.

God knew of evil?

Of course he knew of evil, he knows everything.

Yeah, see the bible never really explains very well about Satan. As cool as the whole creation of Satan myth is, its not exactly cannon.
