Oh...good thing they have that rule about hugging people, I'd get just a little freaked out if a guy randomly hugged me...but I guess random hugging is more of a girl thing anyway. I'm like...anti-touching any guy outside my own family...it creeps me out...like a musical rehearsal earlier we had to put our arms around each other's shoulders...and I was paired up with a guy I don't know...was just a little shy about that... sweatdrop I sound so weird, don't I? xp

Man, I totally overlooked this thread without even putting my two cents in! As mentioned by Choco, I am a LARPer. I do the whole White Wolf thing. WHile I don't particularly care for vampires, the game is fun as all get out, so I play anyways. It's a hobby of mine, I suppose. If tehre were anyone in my area who wanted an introduction and was over 18, i'd be glad to help them out.

White Wolf's Exalted isn't Larping, but it's awesome none the less. And some of the guys in the game, when given the right amount of energy drinks, usually turn it into one. xD lol
Vampire rocks. ^-^ Oh yes it does. I'll be moving soon to Sacramento and from online I've heard they have a whole freaking community of Vampires continuously playing. I will attempt to join. And it will be awesome, oh yes it will be.

I've never LARPed before (besides playing around when I was little) or table-topped (can you say that?), either. I'd like to try them both sometime, but I'm never in one place long enough to learn, and most of my friends are Christians and don't know anything about roleplaying (please don't start off about Christians, let's keep the focus on LARPing...), so I don't know where to go to learn. razz

I now have a double handed sword, sabre and shield, and a spear. What are some of your favorite weapons to use? Most people use two swords, one for defence and one for offence.

You can also look up information from the SCA about how to make good armor.
You are a naive little boy. I am also a Christian. And you don't mention something in a way like that if you don't want it talked about. wink

I endeavour to do a very hefty armour project and I need to know as much as possible.

The SCA is short for the Society of Creative Anachronism. It is an organization dedicated to recreating a wide range of eras, and they host events and classes. Typically, the years they cover are from 400-1100. They cover most of the world, as well, basically anything except for the Americas. However, they are best known for their European medieval re-creation. In the SCA, you can learn to do many interesting things, and there is usually someone who will be happy to teach you how. If you're looking to make armor, it's an excellent resource if you're interested in joining.
I stopped renewing my membership though... Most of the people in the area are elitist assholes. I'm not over 30 and so they didn't really give a hoot about me. My region is filled with a lot of middle aged people, and they are sorta snobby as a whole, unfortunately. However, the events are always a lot of fun, because I meet people my age, and can relate to them.
Edit: And christianity has no particular tenet about acting, to my knowledge. And I would know. 3nodding

Thank you, Fenrir! heart I'm not in the SCA myself, but my friend is and I've been to some of the events. For the type of fantasy roleplaying I typically do, I squeal with delight when they ask me if I would like to try shooting with a 20lb bow. heart They also have story telling sessions! I don't remember what they are called, but people sit around and tell stories and sing songs! I've also watched people practice-fight, which has strict rules about the minimum armor you must wear and where you can hit people, which is one of the reasons I thought you could find out more about that stuff through the SCA. There are more people my age in the SCA where I live because Im close to the state college. My friend I mentioned earlier recruits there, too. xd But there are also elitists asshats that scare me, like the woman who offered to teach another friend how to make chain mail and then proceeded to hound me about WHY I wasn't an SCA member. She didn't like the answer that I have other things to do. So keep that in mind when you go talking to people to get information. Here is their website: http://www.sca.org/You should be able to find locals to contact through there. Good luck! And tell us what you find! heart Kax Sparkson Penden You are a naive little boy.... Aye, that I am. *shuts up before he says too much* 4laugh sweatdrop I use such terms affectionately. wink
